Apps stopped updating

I started updating apps after being away on vacation. It loaded 11 updates then stopped. Tried to turn phone off but still stuck on page with half the apps updated and the rest not doing anything. Anyone have this problem before?

If the App Store on your iPhone seems unresponsive or app updates are not completing, first force close it using these steps:
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app's preview up to close it.

I would also like a way to turn off this "feature." Currently, if I miss 5 episodes of a podcast, the Podcasts app stops auto-downloading new episodes of that podcast. I, however, would prefer that my Podcasts app simply keep the most recent 3 episodes of the podcasts I subscribe to, whether I've listened to other recent episodes, or not. And "most recent 3" is just my preference. I'm sure there are people out there who want to keep every episode, listened or not, recent or not. Reset your iPhone. Hold the on/off and home buttons together for about 10 seconds till the Apple logo appears.
If you continue to have issues, try downloading the apps to iTunes on your computer, then sync your iPhone using iTunes.

you can't reverse the process, once you accepted there is no other way, if you sync it to your itunes library in your computer it will automatically update the updated app as well.
What you can try though is delete the app from your iPad and try syncing it to your itunes library but if you set up iCloud it may update the app automatically

It seems that every time I start up the IPad the banner over ITunes shows 8 or more in the banner. I have completly signed off of the ipad and it still comes up. Any suggestions? It seems to have coincided with IOS 7 being released, I have not downloaded IOS 7 to my IPad or my Iphone at this time.

I"m not sure exactly what to do because once I got mine sorted out I can't exactly replicate it to test it, but it's like somehow your ID gets messed up.
I tried to download an app, then Apple thought that I'd never bought anything from my device so went through the whole 'give your secret questions' thing and ended up having to call apple to get them to reset.
Long story short, the inability to update has something to do with the App Store not recognizing your device, even though part of it does recognize your device (which is why you get the little badges)
You could try downloading a free app and see if you can verify your ID. Or you can poke around in here

and see if you can manage your account and see if that helps.

After upgrading to 10.9.5, the App Store "Update" button stopped working.

After upgrading from 10.9.4 to 10.9.5 tonight, the App Store "Update" button seems to have stopped working. The App Store says I have one update available (Xcode version 6.0.1), but when I click "Update," the button turns white for a few seconds, and then it turns back to gray without doing anything. I've tried the same steps after restarting my computer twice.

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

App developers decide on what iOS versions to support with their apps. Also, Apple has identified certain updates that are necessary for particular applications. The only way to continue using certain apps on the iPhone 3G is to not update your apps if they require a higher iOS to operate. When you get ready to update an app, it will say what iOS is works on, and if it requires higher than the iOS you have, do not update. The only other alternative is to replace the device with a newer model.

I can't delete and install again because there are almost 20 applications like this.

I tried by restarting iPad. Still it's not working.
I have almost 20 applications showing in 'updates' in App Store. I selected 'Update all'. But iPad not installing those updates.

It's never a good idea to select Update All - IMO. That's when things start going wonky. Only one thing can download at a time anyway.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast, TV show .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- go to Settings>iTunes and App Store and sign out and sign back in.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Why do some apps stop working after update to iOS 6?

I notice one of my apps stopped working after the iOS 6 update, in particular Uno HD, which I paid $5 for. Why did this happen?

I had solved the problem by installing the free app, which seemed to reset something, then I deleted the free app, and the paid version continued to work until the next day. I was going to show one of my friends the game, and then it once again would not open- the same problem was back, as soon as I went to open it, it crashed back to the desktop without opening the game. I had to re-install the free version again, and for a while, neither version would work, but then after a while, it started working again. I guess I have to leave the free app installed or I won't be able to use the paid version of Uno.
EDIT
Just checked again, took the Uno app out of resident memory by double-pushing the home button and holding the app icon til it starts to shake, and then hit the minus symbol, which deletes it out of resident memory.
Went to open it again, and it of course crashed back to the desktop again. So there is some issue with it that is making it unstable.
I have to keep pushing on either one of the app icons continuously until one of them starts, and then the other one will start.
Gameloft needs to do an update.

How do I get my phone to download apps and updates. It stopped working. All apps read "waiting"

My apps stopped downloading and or updating! iphone 4S latest update. It seems to get stuck on "waiting", that's what it says under the app I'm trying to download, but it never progresses from there.
I have tried:
Turning off and on
Hard Reset, Holding down home and power button untill apple icon comes back
deleting apps that were not updating
There is memory available

Sorry to hear that. I'm wondering if perhaps one of the updates is larger than 20MB as I wrote above (Skype, some HD apps or games like Asphalt 6) and that is causing the delay. I have also noticed that Asphalt in particular takes forever to install and it appears that the progress bar is "stalled" for several minutes, then it moves veeeeeeeeeeery slowly until it is downloaded, changes to "Loading" then "Installing" and finally finished. Check for any of these types of apps, and if so you may want to deselect that one from updating, let the others run (according to my instructions above), and *then* update any larger ones.
I also note that you are trying to update Twitter. Off-hand I do not know the size of that update, but it's worth looking at iTunes to see what the size is. If you're not set on using the native Twitter app, there are others you may want to try like UberSocial (my favorite), TweetDeck, and more.
Are you accessing through WiFi or 3G?
I also have to say that I have had a 3GS, the 4 and now also the 4S and I have noticed a significant increase in speed on the 4S coming from either of the other devices.
Please let me know how this works, and if you're still unsuccessful I will do my best to think of something else.

My facebook app has stopped updating and send push notifications while not open. How can I fix this?

My iphone facebook app just recently stopped sending push notifications when I receive messages. It doesn't even show the little red circle on the icon.
If I open the app all updates will be loaded and when I close out the icon will have the little red circle indicating the amount of unread messages I have. It will not update while the app is closed though.
Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this?

Check your Notification Center settings (in the Settings app) to see if you have Facebook blocked on anything.
If not, just delete the App, reboot your phone, then reinstall from App Store.

I updated an app on my iPod touch and it stopped loading so none of my other apps can be updated? How do u cancel an update or fix this?

wheneever my apps stop loading and goes back to the app pages, i delete that app, close my ipod and then turn it back on and download back the app. it works for me but im not a pro at this stuff but i hope this helps.
