Apps-store locked

I have given my Ipad mini to my wife and uninstall al my settings. After that I make a new Apple ID for her and installed all the settings for mail etc. Now we cannot not come in to the Apple store, it is locked. I tried many things. Who can help me ?

What do you mean that it is locked? What message are you receiving? Describe the behavior?
Do you know that the apple ID on an iPad can only be change once every 90 days? If you are in the middle of a cycle you have to wait. What you should have done is restore the iPad to the factory setting and then set it up for your wife as a new device. Either with iTunes on your computer or go to Settings/General/Reset/Erase all Content and Settings.

  • App-store locks to one of several users even though app to be updated is a system app

The app-store locks to one of several users even though app to be updated is a system app avalable to all users. That is to say that the signin user name text box is auto entrered and grayed so it can't be changed. I assume that the last user to update it is the user that is entered automaticly. How do you unlock it and prevent it from happening again?

  • APP  store locked up since upgrading to IOS5

Anyone else having problems with the App Store being locked up since upgrading to IOS5?///

I have found that whenever I want to get into the featured section of the app store, it tells me that my request cannot be completed. I've tried resetting my phone and resetting the app, don't know what else I can do.

  • App Store locked on newbe

I'm new to ... "Smart" phones and expecially the new i5.
I downloaded the app Realtor.com last week and liked it very much.  Today I got a "1" in my App Store icon hinting that it wants to update the Realtor.Com app.  I hit the "Updates" button and the "app store" has been locked up ever since.  I'm able to do everything else on the "smart" phone.  Now what?

There are a number of things that could be causing your isue.  Several folks with iPhone 5 have had issues with Apps not updating.  I don't think all of the folks having such issues are necessarily facing the same issue though.  You could try updating the iPhone on iTunes and see if your update of the Retailer One App then works.  If you have been trying your App update via Wi-Fi, you could try it via Cell Data by insuring that Cell Data is "On" and Wi-Fi is "Off".  You could search specifically for the App Update iPhone 5 and  /  or IOS 6 Issues and then see if all of the mitigation ideas have been tried.

  • App store locked out by new update- what a hassle

So I got my new Pal Pixie and I really do like it. Then I immediately updated from the app store the Forbes Reader- Excellent and really liked it- very legible
THEN I made the first mistake and updated to the new 1.3.5.1 software that is supposed to make the app store BETTER. Well it LOCKED out the store and would
not let me download anything- the download button would say "download for free" and then  I could hit the button over and over and nothing would happen.
So I went to Best Buy the girl was VERY helpful (unusual) and she reset my Pixie- to no avail the app store was STILL locking out and not letting me download anything- free or not.
So she replaced the phone - I of course DID NOT upgrade to the new version and everything works fine. App store works great phone works great-
Moral of the story DO NOT UPGRADE TO THE NEW VERSION YET it has a major bug for the app store. Palm please fix ASAP
Post relates to: Pixi p120eww (Sprint)

I have the same problem, talk to a support guy so that palm will spend more time fixing the issue.

  • Sign into apple app store locked to other account.

    Hello
I worked for a Curry's DASIS / Ubiquity stand in store and sold my friend a Macbook Pro 13" MD102, the machine was sold off display at the time with a decent reduction.
Recently her iPhoto app is saying its out of date and needs to be updated, but when she goes to sign into the APP store when she tries to login the apple ID field is populated by a Apple ID she is unaware of and so am i, my thinking is that when the mac was on display perhaps someone has signed in with an apple ID.
What can i do to resolve this issue and permanently remove the unknown apple id so 1. she can use her Apple ID to sign in and 2. No data or apps or data are lost.
note: She has contacted the person who's apple ID was in there and they say they are happy to meet up to login but if they logged in how could i remove there account from the machine.
any Suggestions below is a screen picture she sent me of the issue
    Many Thanks

That solution is kinda dumb -.-
You asked for help. I have given you the correct solution to your issue because it involves more than the two apps. It involves the whole Mac.
Why I would reinstall the OSX just to change the ID Apple of an App?
I gave you the explanation in my answer.
It's time for you to move on. You have high-jacked another user's thread for your issue. You should start your own topic with the issue so as not to be carrying on a cross conversation.
Insulting folks who offer you the correct solution is no way to make folks want to continue to assist you here!

  • App store locked

When playing rummikub the poker game of Zynga install window in app store got opened. Now this can't be removed anymore making my AppStore unavailble. Has anyone experience with this? How van i disable the install screen of Zynga poker , which i do not want and certainly do not want to be installed.
    Tiny.

    Hi Tilom58,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  You can try forcing the App Store to close along with the Rummikub app to see if this helps:

  • Apps Store Locked up

    iPad Forum
I recently took a look at an app called "Data Usage."  As one would expect a small dialog window poped up that resides on top of the Apps store.  But I am unable to remove the dialog to get back to the apps store.  I can't figure out hoe to remove this top dialog screen which allow one to purchase or not purchase the app.  The only way I can remore this screen would be to by the app - it woudl appear.  Any way to force asome sort of refresh.
    Jeff

Yes.  I ended up performing a "reboot" by holding the  Sleep/Wake button and the Home buton until the apple icon came up. That seemed to clear it.  But I could not get the apps store to respone - odd.

I'm not sure if I have to clear out and delete a temporary download file
to get this to work again?

  • Just got my iPad 2 back from apple for battery exchange.  It was updated to iOS 7.02.  Trying to get all my apps back but my App Store is locked onto a purchased app and won't let me do anything. Help ,

My App Store is locked at an app I purchased and won't let me make any selections.  What do I do.  I just got my iPad back from factory for new battery.  It was updated to iOS 7.02 at factory.  Have not been able to take a movie either.  Will take picture.  No idea what square is, but won't let me select it either.

Try close all apps in multi-task window
    1. Double tap the home button to bring up the multi-tasking view
    2. Swipe the app's windows upwards to close
    3. The app will fly off the screen

Apps are locked to the Apple ID that was used to download them. You will have to sign in as your brother in order to update it.

This is your husband's app, only your husband can update it. Apps are forever tied to the Apple ID that purchased them. No other Apple ID can update someone else's app.

  • I am attempting to make my first purchase in the App store, yet it is asking me security questions I know I didn't enable and I keep getting locked out of my account despite resetting everything.

This usually wouldn't pose to be a problem, but I am a college freshman and I just redeemed my $100 giftcard to the app store. I am beyond frustrated and don't know what to do.
It is my first time making a purchase off of this Mac with this account, so it is asking me two security questions. It keeps asking me who my favorite and least favorite teachers were. I know for a fact that these are not the security questions I enabled, so I went in to change them again and logged out of everything. I logged back in and I was getting the same thing from the App store -- it was asking me questions I didn't enable. I've been locked out of my account for eight hours twice and all of my Mac's information is at home and not easily accessable to me, so I don't want to have to call and be asked for information I do not have.
What do I do? I need some crucial apps for classes that start in less than fourty-eight hours from now?
I have changed my appleID's information three times now: passwords, rescue email, and of course, my security questions. I am at my wits end and not pleased that I will possibly be losing $100!

You've been hitten by Apple's recent SNAFU. I fear you are SoL until their pending investigation fiasco is over with.

  • Downloaded Mountain Lion from App Store, but it says by disk is locked and won't let me choose the hard drive for installation

I'm struggling to get Mountain Lion installed on my machine, but what is worse is that it has essentially rendered my computer useless (and of course I need to use it urgently). After downloading and installing from the App Store, I have run into some significant problems.
On install, when prompted to "select the disk where you want to install OS X" the hard drive is greyed out and a message comes up that says "The disk is locked."
So when I back out of the install, I am given the option for Disk Utility, Reinstall OS X (same results as before)  or Restore from Backup (not backed up).
On the Disk Utility, I can hit Verify Disk and it names an error and says to hit Repair Disk. The error is an "Invalid Sibling Link. The volume Macintost HD was found corrupt and needs to be repaired." Unfortunately, Repair Disk is greyed out and I can't hit it.
What I want to do is just forget the entire process at this point and scrap the upgrade until I have time to figure out what is going on. Is there a way to abort at this point?
    Thanks for any help!

    Your welcome!
You should always have and keep an up to date backup.
Sounds like you need something a little stronger than Disk Utility. At this point I have no way of knowing if Disk Warrior can or will help.
    Depends..!
If you do format and install, then Yes it will.
If you reinstall OS X, then No it will not.
Problem is that according to the Disk Utility message, I don't think that you will be able to install either 10.6 or 10.8.
Those are very good questions. The only bad questions are the ones you have to ask yourself.

I am feeling so ripped off right now. I have wanted a Mac for years and believed the hype about it's stability and I have had more trouble with this Imac 2011 than I have ever had with a pc. It locks up with several software products from APP store. I have already had to have a technician to look at it and really couldn't figure out what the deal was.  I was told that the APP store software should give me no problems but the truth is that it locks up on the software. This machine is only 4 weeks old and I am using 37 g on a 1 T hard drive. There is no reason for it to be locking up. Also, when I try to use the help program, it always tells me that I am not connected to the internet even though I have used both the mail program and the browser with no problem just before that. I successfully used the help program on my pc lots of times. I did not need a $2000. plus machine to just get email. I just wanted to unload on somebody that might understand my pain and after checking out this site...I think there is a few of you out there.

I was told that the APP store software should give me no problems but the truth is that it locks up on the software.
The apps downloaded from the Mac App Store are written by third party developers, not Apple. If you have problems  with those apps you need to visit the support area for their websites. Launch the App Store, locate the app name. You should see a support link.

Go to ~/Library/Preferences. Move the com.apple.helpviewer.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash. Restart your Mac, try the Help menu.
If you need help finding that file, hold down the Finder icon in the Dock then click: New Finder Window. From the menu bar top of your screen click: Go > Go to Folder. Type this in exactly as you see it here:   ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.helpviewer.plist    That will take you right to that file.
(.plist) files stores information about a particular app or in this case, the Help viewer. Often times deleting the .plist file resolves the issue.
