Apps stuck at "waiting" until the phone is restarted

I've noticed whenever I download a few apps at once they will be stuck at waiting forever, until I restart the phone then straight away the go to loading.
thought it was just the high number of people for the first few days but its still doing it, and a friend has noticed the same thing on their phone.
I'm on wifi with a speed of around 12Mb/s
using iPhone 6

I have posted these suggestions many times in the past here in the forum. Give these a try and perhaps one of them will work for you.
1. Tap the "waiting" icon and see if you can pause it. If it does pause, then tap it again and see if it will resume. If that works, repeat the same steps for each "waiting" icon.
2. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
3. Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes. If you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first.
4. If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
5. You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again. Apps may also be able to be deleted in Settings>General>Usage>Storage if you cannot get the X to pop up on the icon.
6. You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
7. If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.

  • Apps stuck in waiting on the iPhone 4S IOS 6.1.2

Im stuck on an aircraft carrier right now and all my apps that needed updating from before we went out to sea are stuck in "waiting..." because the wifi in the port I was at was very slow and they never downloaded.  I have already tried to reset all my settings and I do not want to delete these apps because they are the source of my sanity out to sea and I will be out to sea for a while.  What can i do to fix this? Please help!!

this is not phone or OS problem . its only your router DNS transfer function problem
I have resolved the problem by myself. I just figured out that the problem due to the DNS transfer function in my router. If I set the iPhone 4S to use the DNS server as 192.168.1.1 which is also the ip address of my router it will have the problem until I set the DNS to some common DNS service, such as 8.8.8.8 from Google. I think it is the problem of compatibiliy between the iOS and the router.
GOTO SETTINGS>>WI-FI>>click on informatio button(i) of your network>> change DNS to 8.8.8.8>> return
    all the best........

  • On my IPAD I have two games apps stuck on waiting, in the apps store they say installing. I cannot delete them or get them to install, the icons do not have crosses on them if I hold them down. I have reset the ipad and can still load other apps.

Have tried other suggestions on the community but none seem to work. This is the only apple unit I have I do not have laptop or ipod. Any suggestions

Well, typically one of the fixes that I would suggest is to try to delete the waiting icons. WIFi in a public places like McDonalds, Starbucks, B&N, etc. is not the greatest and I would avoid those places for downloading and updating apps. But I do realize that not everybody has access to Wifi in their homes.
These are all things that have worked at one time or another for other users. Hopefull one of them will work for you. Just ignore whatever does not apply or anything that you have already tried.

Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.

  • How do I get rid of an App stuck in waiting. I synced my iPad with my computer, booted my iPad, signed out and back in the store! Help!!

How do I get rid of an app stuck in waiting? I have signed in and out of ITunes store and booted my iPad. I synced my iAd with my computer. I can't use the app or delete it! Thanks!

If there are multiple apps trying to download at once, only one can download at a time and the rest say "Waiting" until it is then their turn. Try this. Double tap the icon of the Waiting app, and it should resume the download.

Another thing to try - Turn the iPad Off & then back ON.
    If that doesn't work:
    •  Log out of your iTunes store account.  Go to Settings > Store > Sign Out Then press the Home button.
    • Then press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously and don't release them when it brings up the Turn Off screen; keep holding them until the Apple logo appears.
    • After restart, the Waiting should be gone.

    Hi bunjamin,
just go to BlackBerry World, and update all your apps including BBM.

  • Bluetooth connected phone call waits until the person answers to connect through speakers! How to change this.

When placing a bluetooth call the car shows that the phone is connected but there is no ringing (it is still ringing in the phone speaker).  Then the person answers and it plays through the car speaker, but misses the first word.  What is happening?  I used to hear the phone ringing.  Now it waits until the person answers.

This occurred when I updated the IOS to 8 and switched to an iphone 6 from a 5.
I read both articles and did not find a solution to my dilemma.  To clarify further:
When hooked up through bluetooth to my 2011 Honda Accord
    - incoming calls will ring the phone through the speakers and I can answer and speak through the speakers/car microphone by touching a switch on my steering wheel
    - outgoing calls that I initiate by touching the phone number on the phone will ring in the phone until the person picks up, it then switches to the car speakers (unfortunately, the hand-off results in missing a word or two that the answering person has said).  This did not work this way with my iphone 5 and ios 7.
I hope this is better communicated and there is an answer.
    Thanks.

  • "Please wait until your phone has been activated"

I got a refurbished phone from Asurion and it took a while to activate originally. I was able to connect to wifi, add a google account, start updating some apps. I restarted the phone and now its stuck on "Please wait until your phone has been activated" I used the sim card that was included with the phone from the larger red card. Is there any way to reset it or activate it now?

Snn5 speaks the truth, your sim will need to be activated. If you are the kind of person who prefers to do things on your own, though, there is one more option. If you've already created a myVerizon account, sign in to that, and there will be a box around the top middle that will ask you what it is that you want to do. In this box, type "activate or switch device" and it will lead you through the process.

  • Apps stuck in waiting after updating on iOS 7.0.2

Since i updated my iPad 2 to iOS 7.0.2 i have this persistent problem, I tried everything to make it normal but it never happens.
After i update an App on my iPad throught the AppStore on the iPad this problem occurs.
    1. Eventhough the update is complete the app gets stuck in "waiting... " state
    2. However the App opens through the AppStore on the iPad
Above are few of the apps stuck in waiting and they have a Open button adjacent to them.
Notice that iBooks is on waiting... however i can open it through the app store.
    and use it normally.
Only solution which works as of now is to delete the apps from settings on the iPad and install them again from the Appstore, but then i'd loose all the data i previously have.
I have no Idea why this is happening. I cannot open the stuck apps directly by taping them i have to go through the AppStore. Please help.
PS: You cannot uninstall app by long tapping it because the X mark does not appear on the app.

    Try a reset ...
    Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings

  • HT1414 using Windows 7 OS, I had downloaded the new ioS 6 and started the update on the iPhone 4 and everything was going routine until the phone had been going thought what I though

I attempted to update my iPhone 4 from ioS 5 to ioS 6 from iTunes on my laptop using Windows 7 OS, I had downloaded the new ioS 6 and started the update on the iPhone 4 and everything seemed to be going routine until the phone had been going thought what I though was the update process, when an error window opened up and it said that an error had occured and the iPhone 4 could not be updated. I have never had a problem like this before and it caught me off guard and I did not note all the information in the error window, but it did not appear to indicate anything other than that I would have to abort the update and did not think it would be that big of a problem. I tried to disconnect the phone and was going to do the update at a different time when I could investigate what the problem was. However I could not get iTunes to recognize the iPhone 4 after this and still cannot. After rebooting the laptop a few times and also trying to reset the phone a few times as well, I just have a dead phone. The iPhone 4 just has the image of a USB cable with an arrow pointing to an icon for iTunes. I have tried to get iTunes to recognize the iPhone, but cannot get it to. I am unable to do anything else with the phone. It seems like the phone is in a state where it does not have enough software loaded to do anything or I don’t know how to get it to. Any suggestions how I can get my iPhone 4 back into service. Note: iTunes still recognizes my iPad and iPods, so iTunes seems to be okay to me. Craig

I had this problem on my iPod Touch 4g. Just press the home and sleep button. Wait and it will give an iTunes and cable logo. Now you can put in DFU mode (Hold Sleep and Home button 10 seconds and then release the power button kand keep pressing on the home button.) Now you will be able to restore it in iTunes.

  • Should I just wait untill the Intel Mini's are out to make the switch over?

I have been somewhat active on this board for the last month or so looking at the Apple Mini. I want a computer that never really slows down, or crashes a lot. Also, I want a computer that can do some light video editing, and some light gaming (think: Battlefield 1942!).. I'm thinking about waiting till the New Intel Mini's come out but I really don't know when that will be! I don't know if I can hold on for 8 more months with this crappy thing they call an OPERATING SYSTEM.
Do you guys know when the Intel's are coming out? When they do, thats when I might make the switch from XP to mac OX.
    Thank you all!

Though a bit belatedly, I thought it might be worth pointing out an issue that ought to cross the minds of those considering buying a mini but not sure whether to wait for the Intel models or not.
Aside from the fact that no-one knows when the Intel minis will be announced and what specs (thus performance) they will have, and the fact that as soon as the first models are out, there will be a tendency to want to wait until the next revision for the 'rev.a' bugs to get ironed out and some speed bumps ironed in, one important extra consideration is the software that's intended to be run.
All software at this time is G4 compatible, and many titles are either already in universal binary, or about to be so, thus would run natively on an Intel-mini. But some, Adobe CS and Microsoft Office (to name a couple of significant examples) are not universal yet, and while they likely will become so, it's not at all clear when. Until they ARE universal, those apps will run in emulation on an intel Mac, and performance is not reported to be stellar.
So I'd suggest to anyone considering the issues, to look at the titles you want to run, and make sure all the important ones are Intel-native already, or going to become so very soon. If they are, then waiting for an Intel mini is perfectly reasonable as long as you don't have any immediate need and can wait however long it takes. But if any crucial apps are PPC only and likely to stay that way, I'd buy a G4-powered mini while they're still available, and trade it later when the crucial apps go Universal and the Intel models have settled down.

  • IPhone 5 recharging, shd I wait until the battery is empty?

Someone told me that the battery suffers if I do not wait until the battery is empty and stop recharging before the battery is full. Can I recharge the phone whenever I want and how long I want or do I have to wait until it is empty/full?

waiting until the battery is empty is a good idea but you have a limited amount of charge cycles but i recommend draining it fully
it doesnt suffer at all and it should have a 8-10 hour life of battery
yes you can charge whenever you want but you have a limited amount like 500
    charge 4-8 hours
