Apps sync to old computer

I have an old Windows PC that my apps sync to. Everything else on my iPhone sync to my iMac. How do I stop the apps from syncing to the PC and get them to sync to the iMac?

You don't. Backup your itunes library on the old computer and move it to the new computer.

  • The computer that I had my iphone apps synced to has died and I don't know how to get access to my apps on the new computer. I'm using a Windows pc. I understand that I can only have my apps synced to one computer at a time, but the former pc is dead.

My HP Touchsmart died the other day. My husband works on computers as a hobby and was able to get me up and running on a Dell laptop in no time. I have an iPhone 4s and had all my apps on itunes on my HP. I understand that you can only have your iPhone apps synced to one computer at a time, but what do you do when the computer containing all your info is in unusable condition? I have tried deauthorizing all the computers associated with my account, that did not work. I had this problem once before and finally ( after much blood sweat and tears ) was able to deauthorize the old computer, but it was in working order. Two of the computers that are listed under the iTunes Wi-Fi Sync setting are no longer in use, the HP had my apps synced to it and the other had everything else except my photos, which are on a third computer that is still in use. Please forgive for information overload but am trying to give all the info that I think could be relevant. Your help would be appreciated so much!
    Sincerely,
    PiPI

    Hi Guys
I just bought a new notebook and I want to know how can i transfer my apps, photos, music, etc to the new new computer? I'm affraid if i scync it it will erase everything from my Ipad.
    Appreciate your help
    Thanks a million.

Copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder from the old computer to the new computer.
Any attempts to sync the iDevice on the new computer without doing this will wipe the device and replace the existing contents with contents from the new, blank library.
iDevices are not storage devices, they are merely mirrors of the content in iTunes.

  • I cant sync my old computer windows 7 with my new computer windows 8

I have just bought a new computer with windows 8 and wish to transfer my passwords on to it but I cant get it to sync. I have set up an account and windows 7 gives me the page to pair a device and the code to put in.
The new computer under sync gives my firefox account page and Iclick all the sync tabs click ok and it takes me to change password or delete acct and doesnt give me the place to put the code in. at no stage can i find a chance to pair the device on Windows 8.

You can backup data on the old computer and use an USB drive to transfer files that you need

You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
For the passwords you need the signons.sqlite and key3.db files.

  • Switching App Sync to other Computer

Right now, I am syncing my Touch apps on my work computer. I want to sync them on my Mac at home...but each time I go to uncheck the app sync option on my work PC it warns that it will delete all apps & app data. How do I keep everything from deleting while also changing the computer I use for the sync?

+I also noticed my library was empty+
This is the problem- your ipod is actually synced to another library, not another computer .
I notice you have a Sony Vaio. We are seeing tons of posts here from Vaio users - the Sony Media Management software causes a conflict with itunes and the itunes library database file is not saved properly, as a result.
Either disable/uninstall the Sony stuff, or tell it to not monitor the itunes folder.

  • TRANSFERRING APPS SYNCED FROM FORMER COMPUTER TO NEW COMPUTER?

I purchased an I-Pad 2 on 3/11 to replace the original I-Pad I bought last year. I synced it with my "former" I-Mac and transferred Apps I had purchased and synced to my "former" original I-Pad to my new I-Pad 2..
Then my "former" I-Mac crashed and burned and I bought a new I-Mac. Now I have all the original apps successfully installed on the new I-Pad 2, but can't sync them back to my "new" I-Mac. Is there any way I can do that?

Thanks for your input. I tried that, but since the apps on my current I-Pad 2 were synced with my former computer, when I try to transfer them back from the new ipad to the new computer I get a message that itunes can only be synced to one computer and that computer is now gone.
The apps remain on the ipad2 now, but I can't sync them back in to the new computer. I guess I'm out of luck?

  • IPod synced to old computer

I got rid of an old computer without backing up my iTunes. My iPod has all my songs on it but I can't synch it with my new computer without erasing them. Is there any way to move my songs from the iPod to the new computer?

You have to use a third party utility. I have used this one successfully.

You can find other options using Google.

  • Deleting my apps on my old computer

    Greetings all.
Hope you can answer or confirm what I plan to do.
I bought a new imac a few years ago and gave my spouse my old one.
I did not delete the apps off of it.
Now she is trying to buy apps but my old account keeps popping up.
I cannot seem to be able to change it especially on her iphone.
So I guess the best thing to do is to delete all the apps?
    Am I right?
And would this solve the problem of her account?
She bought a few already, will they come back after I delete them?
    Not sure which is hers.
    Thank you for your time.
I did try to search for this and came up with nothing.
    Richard

Change iTunes Store account  on an iOS device -  Log out of your current account with Settings.app > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Stores on iOS 6)  > tap on your AppleID. Log in with a different account. Note, turning on automatic downloads or re-download past purchases may tie the device to that account for 90 days - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627

  • How do I transfer apps from an old computer to a new one?

    My laptop died.
I got a new computer and I am trying to transfer all of the Itunes content from the old laptop to the new computer.  I was able to transfer the music but, how do I transfer the other stuff like apps, tv shows etc.
Also, Will I be able to transfer play lists?
    Please help!
    Thanks

I understand that.  I'm curious as to what will transfer and what won't transfer via backup.  From the research I've done, texts and voice messages won't transfer but voice messages are persistent with the provider, so I won't really lose them.  What else won't transfer?  Pictures? Safari cache (i.e. saved passwords for web sites)?  Will those transfer?
