Apps to iTunes transfer

Hi everyone, I'm new to the iPhone world and I recently downloaded a bunch of apps to my phone via the app store. It seems like I'll be having to get a replacement phone though, sadly, so I wanted to know if there's a way to save my apps from my phone to iTunes so I can just re-download them to my new phone?
Thanks!

Hi Professor,
I have the same problem after installed itunes 10.
Before, I can transfer my purchases. Now, I can't
Sync of songs, photos, ibook are ok.
After I pressed "transfer my purchases", the status bar of transferring is working. I have seen every app which was transferred. However, I see "nothing" in the iTune after transfer processing. Please advise. thx

  • How can I transfer apps from iTunes library from one computer to another?

I have been unsuccessful in transferring my music over to my new MacBook from my PC Windows Vista. I even subscribed to MobileMe, but it wouldn't work! So, I have decided to take the time to copy all my music to CDs & do it that way, but how am I going to transfer my apps? If I sync my iPhone with my iTunes library on my MacBook once I have transferred the songs, won't the apps be erased on my phone? Is there a way using MobileMe I could do so? Please please please help.

Do you have access to an external hard drive that you were using for your computer's backup with your PC which has enough storage capacity for your entire iTunes library?
If so, using the external hard drive would be a good way to do this. You would transfer your iTunes named folder in your My Music folder on your PC followed by transferring the iTunes named folder from the external hard drive to the Music folder on your Mac - with iTunes quit when doing so. This will transfer all music, videos, 3rd party apps, playlists, etc. from your PC to your Mac.
If most of your iTunes library includes music purchased from the iTunes store, iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content that was purchased from the iTunes store from an iPod or iPhone, but this is for iTunes content that was purchased from the iTunes store only.
First you need to authorize your new MacBook with your iTunes account with iTunes if you haven't already done so.
With your iPhone connected to iTunes and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone.
If all 3rd party apps do not transfer from your iPhone to your iTunes library on your Mac, you can re-download purchased apps with iTunes on your MacBook and you won't be charged again as long as you use the same iTunes account that was used to purchase the 3rd party apps.

  • How do I transfer apps from Itunes to my iTouch?

Hi! I'm a new apple user.My father bought me a new iPod touch.
I have downloaded some apps from iTunes in my PC (Windows 7), and I want to transfer it to my iPod touch.
I thought that syncing would do the trick. But there's a pop up message box saying that all my apps on my iPod and their datas would be replaced by the apps from my iTunes library.
Is this the right thing to do or there's another way to do the trick? Please help me Apple Community!

The message you are getting is saying that your iPod is already synced to another iTunes library. You can only sync with one iTunes library.
    - To make this computer/iTunes your syncing computer/iTunes library:
    --- Transfer iTunes purchases by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
--- Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Backu Up
--- Restore the iPod from tha backup.

    Not necessarily...
You would need to check the Terms and Conditions for the Mac App Store and possibly iTunes for clarity on that assumption...

  • HT1414 how can i transfer my apps from itunes of my computer to my iphone 3gs??

how can i transfer my apps from itunes of my computer to my iphone 3gs??

Which apps? The iPhone apps you have selected/purchased on the iPhone App Store thru iTunes?
Or the apps installed on the Mac?
For the first case, simply connect the phone, start up iTunes if it doesn't do so on its own accord, click on your phone's entry on the list in the left column, select the Summary tab to make sure all is well, then click on the Sync button on the bottom edge of the screen. If you want, you can click on the Apps tab and arrange your applications how you like them prior to the sync, too.
If the second case, no can do. iPhone apps run on iPhones, Mac apps run on Macs.

  • What happened to ability to transfer files to mobile apps in iTunes?

I used to be able to transfer files from my Mac to my iPad app using iTunes. Since the ITunes update last Nov/Dec/ 2012, the process as explained in the help file no longer exists. Is there a new way to do it?

Nothing happened to File Sharing but the appearance of iTunes has changed. It confused me at first also. Here's how to do it.
Are you looking in the right place to find the shared files on your Mac?
First thing you need to do is on your iPad. Share the files you want to transfer by selecting Share > iTunes.
Start iTunes on your Mac. Is it iTunes 11? If so use the View menu in iTunes to select View Sidebar.
Then connect your iPad to your Mac.
Select your iPad in the left sidebar.
Select Apps in the row of tabs in the right window of iTunes.
Scroll down under Apps to the File Sharing section. It is below the complete list of apps.
You should see a list of the shared files or a folder that contains the files. Use the Copy To... Button ( if there is one ) to copy the shared files to your Mac.
The problem I had originally was the scrolling. There are two windows of apps. Each window can scroll within its own window. So scrolling n the tp window of apps will get you to the bottom of that window but not down to the next section which is the file sharing area. Scroll by using the outer most scroll bar if you have one or if in Mountain Lion place the cursor near the left edge of the apps area to scroll to the lower File Sharing area.

  • IPhone 3G refuses to transfer purchased apps to iTunes

My iPhone 3G refuses to transfer purchased apps to iTunes. This is causing me major problems with syncing.
Whenever I attempt to transfer apps from the iPhone to iTunes it goes through the motions, but never actually transfers anything. It displays the various apps in the info area at the top of the screen, but the progress bar never advances.
In comparsion when I sync other iPhones, using the same install of iTunes, the progress bar advances and apps are transferred.
The same also happens on clean installs of iTunes on other computers, it seems to be my iPhone that is the common factor. I have tried restoring the phone from a backup, which makes no difference.
This started happening months ago and the phone has since been upgraded to 3.0 and 3.1, but the problem still persists.
Originally it was just a minor irritation, but I made and attempt to fix it which has made things worse. I deleted all the apps from with iTunes and then did "Transfer purchases" in the hope that it might fix something.
It didn't fix anything. Also, I cannot now sync at all.
If I do sync iTunes now does "transferring purchases", fails to transfer and then deletes all the apps (and data) from my iPhone. It also means I can't sync music, podcasts or anything else.
I can't sync anything else, because I can't temporarily turn off app syncing because then iTunes warns that the apps on the iPhone will be deleted.
    I also tried de-authorising and re-authorising.
What can I do to get app syncing working again ?

I am still struggling with the same problem, doesn't anyone have any suggestions ?

  • Can't transfer app from iTunes to ipad Mini without updates transferring as well

I like to download the occasional app to iTunes then transfer it later to my iPad Mini.
However I find that later when I try just to transfer that app to my ipad,  iTunes insists on transferring updates of other apps as well ?
Is there a way to stop this ?

I don't want to download again as I have a download limit and some of these apps are very large and take a big chunk out of that limit.
This is why I download to iTunes on my pc so I can then transfer to other devices without affecting my limit.
It also makes a convenient local backup.

We're almost there to you solving my question:
    1. My account was already authorized on my computer.
    2. From Amazon, I installed Kindle for Mac and once installed, my books from my iPad automaticallyand directly  downloaded into the application. From my computer Kindle, I opened a book and copied a page and pasted it into my TextEdit application, which will allow me to print the book cutting to my printer. Problem solved.
    3. As for the Pages App, following your link to the instructions on exporting to my computer, I was able to get a page into my iTunes and download it to my computer. However, when I tried to open the page on my computer, the following error message occurred: The document "Goals.pages" could not be opened. The file isn't in the correct format...." So, I went to Amazon to see if I could download a Pages App but to no avail. I can't rememmber if I purchased it from the App Store or via iTunes, but I should be able to transfer it from my iPad to any other devise of mine, free of charge. If not, I know that if I buy an Airprinter that I will be able to print pages from my Pages App on my iPad. However, would you know of a way to export my Pages, in the correct format, from my iPad to my Mackbook? Alternatively, if I can get iTunes to transfer this purchase from my iPad to my computer, then the correct format will exist but now we're back to where we started, with this action being obstructed with its error message...
Thank you for your time helping me.

  • When you Command+Delete an App in iTunes, you can't Transfer Purchases?

When you delete an App from iTunes using right+click and delete option, you have some checkboxes to agree and than your app will be deleted. When you do this, you can Transfer Purchases from your iPhone, and you will get back that app deleted.
But when you Command+Delete an App in iTunes, you can't Transfer Purchases to get back that deleted app. Why is this happening? How can I get back the Apps from my iPhone without re-downloading it from AppStore?
    Thanks

To avoid that I would recommend deleting the folder first the copying won't be an issue or deleting all the files in the directory. I know this is an extra step but just like the warning on plastic bags someone somewhere did something they shouldn't have
    Sorry, I have been there.
So generally it will ask you if you want to do this for X number of files
IT SHOULD ASK ONCE AND ONLY ONCE
I SAY YES AND GO AWAY AND I HAVE TO COME BACK AND HIT YES AGAIN
