Apps, when downloading, just "waiting"

Whenever I download or update an app it just goes into the waiting mode. It does not download even if left for days. This is something new. I have been able to download apps for several months and this just started happening a couple days ago. Any advise?

Check iTunes and see if you have a pending/stalled download e.g. Podcast, Books, Music or Movies. Finish off the download and you'll be able to update your apps.

Hi everyone,
A few weeks ago I downloaded the mountain lion software from the app store. However, the download just sits in the dock 'waiting' and doesn't download at all. It eventually disapears from my dock and tells me that there has been an error. I have emailed and rang customer support, however, I get passed on to different departments with each staff member saying 'this isn't what our department should be dealing with'. I have been told that it is to do with my internet provider (BT), but when I took the iMac (2010) back to university where I have a different internet provider, it still didn't download! (My iMac has got all the requirements for Mountain Lion).
Any help will be much appreciated as I am really getting no where with customer support.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. The following is a past discussion that dealt with a similar issue of apps seemingly paused in "waiting" and may help:

Try tapping the App, so that it changes to Paused instead of Waiting, then tap it again to resume the install.
Make sure you don't have any paused downloads in other apps either, like the App Store or iTunes Store.
If that doesn't do it, try resetting or restoring the iPhone.

Why does my iPod say "Unable to Download Application"? Other apps will download just fine and updating apps isn't an issue either, it's just this one app.

A few days ago, I tried to redownload Sims FreePlay onto my iPod. I needed more room to update it to the latest update so the app just stayed on my screen but it's as if it's waiting to download. Today, I freed up a good 2GB of space on my iPod so the app should have no problem downloading. Instead of downloading, it says "Unable to Download Application" and that it could not be installed at this time. I downloaded a new app that downloaded with zero problems and I even updated an app with no trouble at all. I've also tried to delete the app so that I could just restart the download but nothing seems to work. Please help me. My progress that's stored on the cloud is going to expire either tomorrow or Saturday.

That meassage and that you can downoad other apps indicates an Apple problem. Nothing you can do except keep trying.

When downloading apps I have them stacked with waiting message insure if I can delete and start again any advice

If there are multiple apps trying to download at once, only one can download at a time and the rest say "Waiting" until it is then their turn. Try this. Double tap the icon of the Waiting app, and it should resume the download.
If that doesn't work:
• Log out of your iTunes store account. Go to Settings > Store > Sign Out Then press the Home button.
• Then press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously and don't release them when it brings up the Turn Off screen; keep holding them until the Apple logo appears.
• After restart, the Waiting should be gone.

Old apps and new one's when I try to download it just said waiting but the progress bar does not move

Error -3259 is a network timeout error, usually. This article might help:

Ican't install apps right now it is only saying waiting.

You just need to iTunes or the iapp then go to the bottom and log out, then log back in.
If your on a slow wifi connection or you are doing multiple downloads, they will download in order that you started them.

Error message in iTunes app when downloading movies

I have this error in the iTunes app that whenever I try and restart a download it seems to not download the file properly and gives me the wrong amount of time it will take to download the movie to my phone and then fails to download the movies saying, "Download error. Tap to retry". I have tried "tapping to retry" several times and over and over again I get the same error every time I "tap to retry". It's stopping me downloading any movies now and now these files are stuck on my phone partially downloaded and unable to be finished, it's like their stuck in the ether of suspended animation and there isn't much I can do because I can't remove these partially downloaded movies off my phone, even when I connect my phone to iTunes for windows 7 they don't show up as existing on the phone, it is as if I never downloaded them in the first place and I can't download these movies from the desktop either because the "buy/rent" buttons are shaded out stopping me downloading these movies. As you can see I am stuck in a bit of a quandry.

My computer was unauthorized to view/hear anything purchased from iTunes. I was able to fix the problem. Thanks!

Ipod touch apps i downloaded always waiting

i went ot the app store on my ipod and installed 2 free apps facebook and talking tom. i get done installing and all it says is waiting.... and a grey box above it.... i cant open them.... obviously i need help.... i went through and synced my ipod and computer i also authorized it and it still does not work... please help as soon as possible im really purty upset

Have you tried:
- Resetting your iPod:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Downloading them on your computer and syncing?
- Signing out and them back into your iTunes account on your iPod?

No Icon appears in apps when downloading Adobe Air onto Windows 8 computer.

Is this issue specific to the pdf files or do you face the issue with any pdf you try to open?
Which application was used to create these pdfs?
Have you updated Acrobat to v11.0.7 and checked?
Are you able to launch Acrobat standalone app without clicking on any pdfs?
You are getting error related to specific fonts because the document might have the fonts that are not available on your computer.

Mine took just over 2hrs 45 min to download and install, it did look like it was frozen but let it do its thing, so far no issues.
