Apps will not sync to iPhone

Hi - sorry if this issue has already been covered,
On my iPhone 4 I had bought some apps (e.g. Infinity Blade) that were rather large in terms of file size, but that I wasn't using on a day-to-day basis. I synced my phone with my computer, and then deleted the app (and others) from my phone. Now, when I try and get them back on, I am not able to. I tick the box and they appear on the virtual iPhone display, and the memory indicator at the bottom of the screen even moves. However, when I click 'apply' the memory indicator moves back to its original position and the apps have not synced. Any ideas?

You may not have enough memory available on the phone; you need at least twice the size of the app free. The apps may also have been purchased with a different iTunes account than you are now using.

  • Documents to Go Desktop App will not sync with iPhone and iPad

This used to work perfectly and now, it just stopped being able to sync.  The desktop shows that my devices are disconnected?  I've uninstalled and reinstalled and the desktop app won't recognize any devices.  Any ideas??  I'm using Windows 7 PC and syncing to iPhone 4 and iPad.  hanks.

This user tip might help you understand how accounts work with Address Book.
First check that all your settings are correct, that contact syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the contacts you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' group and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud group (you can do this by checking in groups), non iCloud contacts will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your contacts are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking contact syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling contact syncing.

  • Apps will not Sync to Iphone 4

I couldn't add apps since itunes was not updated. Finally updated it. Great. Now I'm in 11. Thought I'd like to add some apps to the up to date iphone. Downloaded some basic stuff. Unit converts and levels stuff like that. Great. transfer over apps that I want on phone where I want them. Awsome. It says will transfer. Oh yeah? When? When you're done with your coffee break? Maybe after a few power on/off cycles? Yeah sure maybe.... Eventually it got there. Don't know how. Didn't know when. But hey, its says "Remove" next to the app now, so I guess its on there. And it shows it on the phone in itunes. But whats this??!! It isn't on the iphone!! Is it invisible? Is the phone playing games with me...again? Did it just say it did the work but it didn't really do the work..... Hmmm looks like someone isn't getting a raise this year. Maybe they'll even get fired! Well maybe if I hit Sync just one more time. Wait for it.........Nope!- nothing. I've done my part Apple-verse now maybe you can do yours??

Is "Sync Apps" checked in iTunes?
Are the apps in question selected to be synced?

Try Updating One at a time.
Or Update the Apps in iTunes on your computer... Then Sync your Device.

2.2.1 is not the latest available for any ipod touch.

It might be logical to someone, but not to me. I agree it's a pain.
How did you change your Apple ID? Creating a new one is not what you want to do, but if you changed the ID associated with your purchases then that might have worked. You would need to sign in with the Apple ID on both your iPod Touch as well as in iTunes. I'm not sure how you changed it but clearly they need to match.
If it's just your password that is not getting recognized reset it here: http://iforgot.apple.com/
It will send an email confirmation to the email address associated with that Apple ID. The email address you elect to use might not look anything like your Apple ID. If you don't appear to get an email check your spam filter.

When I plug in my iPhone to my iMac my computer flashes a box that says my USB device is drawing too much power from my computer and claims one or more of my devices have been disabled.  Then it will not sync my iPhone 5.  Any solution ideas?

Try unplugging any other USB devices. If you are using a hub, don't, connect the phone directly to a computer USB port.
None of these are necessarily things you should do, but might help. For instance, if you plug the phone to an already busy hub, the phone might be "the straw that broke the camel's back" and lock out the hub.

  • Why some apps will not sync with i tunes 11

Just updated to I Tunes 11 some apps will not sync to my i pod touch. Has others went thur the same problem?

My Ipod touch is about 2 years old running the latest o s and itunes. Before the upgrade all apps were on the itunes but when I tried to drag and drop them the ipod did not install them and both apps are less then a year from their release. These problems happen after the new upgrades

  • Avoid installing iTunes 11 if you are a Windows user. Calendars, etc will not sync with iPhone or iPad. Anyone have a fix?

After installing iTunes 11.0, Outlook Calendars, etc will not sync with iPhone or iPad. Anyone have a fix?

I'm also seeing weird sync issues since upgrading to iOS 7.  The sync issues started when I first upgraded to iOS 7 so I suspect that iOS 7 is to blame and the other system differences aren't an issue (i.e. I also upgraded to Windows 8.1 but it never worked properly when I was on Windows 8).  For me, the only way to "sync" all the smart playlists and music is to restore from backup and then the first sync seems to work.  However, I haven't tried that recently (I tried it a month back or so and it worked then) because it is ridiculous to have to restore your phone just to sync things!  Apple needs to fix the iOS 7 quality issues.

  • Some new purchased songs will not sync to IPhone.  Any ideas on resolving this?

Some newly purchased songs will not sync to Iphone.  Any ideas to resolve this issue?

    Similar issue:
I purchased several complete albums from the iTunes store on my laptop. Everything syncs fine with my iPhone except for two tracks from two seperate albums. I get the same error for both tracks: "iTunes could not copy ..... to the iPhone because the file could not be converted."
From what I can tell both tracks are the same format as the other tracks on those albums - m4a (purchased AAC audio file) and wouldn't need converting (except that I have "convert higher bit rate songs to 128 kbps AAC" checked... but the other tracks convert just fine). Files play just fine on the laptop.
I checked that everything was purchased with the same user accounts. Not sure what to try next... any ideas?
In case it of any use here are the tracks:
Being Single Again (track 2 from Louis C.K.'s album Hilarious)
Letters to Magazines (track 15 from Paul F. Tompkins' album Impersonal)
Maybe the tracks are just so funny that the iPhone is cracking up too much to transfer them over.

  • Videos will not sync to iPhone from iTunes

Movies (Videos) will not sync to an iPhone 4S from iTunes Mac. They can be downloaded and played from iCloud. They sync to other iOS devices, just not this one.
Music does sync as do other media. When I try Movies (Video) I spend long minutes watching "Waiting for changes to be applied". I suspect it's timing out.
I don't see anything in Console. It doesn't matter whether Movie is DRMd or home.
I've restared phone and desktop. I wiped the phone and restored from Backup. I suspect if I wiped phone and treated at as NEW phone it would work, but I'd lose game settings, some data, etc. I haven't tried 'manual' management of music and video, I really dislike that. I did try dragging a movie to the iPhone manually, that behaved like sync.
I've used PhoneView, an OS X utility for browing phone to look for stuck or unexpect media. There are no Voice Memos and no Voicemail messages.
In iTunes, if I expand the Devices tree for the phone, and inspect Movies, I see the movies that have downloaded via iCloud. Movies that are supposed to sync from iTunes show with a grayed out font and dotted viewing status circle.
Any ideas? Any references to a technical description of the iTunes sync process?

A colleague on App.net (@gaelicwizard) came up with the fix for being unable to sync video to the iPhone. It suggests the bug is on the iPhone, and since a wipe/restore didn't fix it the bug is transmitted with the backup.
The fix was to setup iTunes on another account on the same machine, then sync the iPhone to THAT account. This wipes out all media and photos. When I did that I could sync a video to the iPhone.
I then synced the iPhone BACK to the original iTunes account -- this wiped all media again. This time though I could sync video from the original iTunes. I restored all of the media and was good to go again.
I still wonder if this bug is related to the fix for the 7.0 CloudAssets bug that was fixed in 7.1. There was also something odd about the movie 'Frozen' where the Cloud version and local iTunes version seemed somehow different...

  • IPod apps will not sync

I am trying to add an app to my Ipod touch.  It is showing in itunes.  I click and drag it to the ipod image, hit apply, and then sync.  It says it has synced, but the new apps will not appear on the ipod.
    What am I missing?

    - Is the app compatible with your iPod?
    - Do you have any Restrictions set that that prevent installing that app? Settings>General>Restrictions
    - Do you have the right boxes checked to drag and drop the app?
iTunes 11 for Windows: Set up syncing for iPod, iPhone, or iPad
    - Have you successfully added apps to the iPod from this iTunes library before?
    - What happens when you try to directly download the app on the iPod by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • My "notes" on iPad will not sync with iPhone thru iCloud. What gives?

My "notes" on iphone and iPad will not sync thru iCloud. I am sure it is user error...but I can not figure it out.

It reads like this is a problem on the iOS side. On your iPhone or iPad launch the notes app, in the top left corner tap the button until you are on the Accounts page and see if iCloud is an option. If it is select that option and new notes will push to your Mac. If its not close the Notes app and go to Settings > iCloud > Notes > Toggle On. The option will now be in the notes app as described above. Side note: You may be asked to set up an iCloud email if you haven't already. Hope that helps.
