Appss purchased through AppStore on device launch title screen then close

I purchased Monkey Ball and installed a few other FREE apps and everyone one of them exibt this behavior. 1. I touch the icon to open the app 2. the apps title screen appears for 2-3 seconds then 3. the app closes and I'm back to the iPod Touch's main screen (where all icons are present).
Has anyone else experienced this?

Well, you got me there.
This whole thing is a fiasco, the worst launch disaster in Apple's history that I can recall... Won't get any media attention.

I have a iPhone and iPad on one iTunes account, I have recently bought two further I touches fir the kids , should I set them up with their own apple ids and the can I transfer purchases through all devices,

    Hi jhyiesla,
Im not sure wether I got you right or not. But my advice/s would be as follows:
These steps help you get rid of old apps you downloaded years ago and you do not use anymore.(Also frees space on your mac after emptying the trash)
    1) go to iTunes and delete all applications in it. Make sure to move them to trash! Do not empty your trash yet. Its your backup if step 3 doesnt appear.
    2) connect both your devices(one after each other) and make a backup. !!!Dont press the Sync button, press the Back Up Now Button
    3) Then it asks you if you want to backup applications as well. Confirm. (This is how apps get transferred manually)
    4) Then Sync your devices... The first time it might be, that there are some additional apps loaded to your devices you dont want to.. delete them on your Device (not iTunes) and after that you should be good every time you sync again.
    5) now you can empty your trash on your mac.
    Further,
    - You should regularly connect your devices with iTunes to make sure they are backed up. (Even if you have activated iCloud backup, the iTunes backup is more proper i.e.. Apps)
    - If you hate scrolling through a list of apps in iTunes, you can re/install apps directly on iOS not via iTunes. I absolutely never go to the "Applications" section in iTunes. I install and delete apps directly on iOS.

  • I have a number of audiobooks purchased through iTunes on my iPod touch.  Is there a way to move or download them to the Cloud so that I can access them on other devices?

I have a number of audiobooks purchased through iTunes on my iPod touch.  Is there a way to move or download them to the Cloud so that I can access them on other devices?

Thanks - I didn't realize that.  I'm also embarrassed to admit that I don't know how to transfer the audio files from my iPod to the iTunes library on my computer.  When I select a book from the list on the iPod, the only option I see with the right-facing arrow symbol is "Show in iTunes Store ".  I back the iPod up to this computer so I guess those files must be on it somewhere, but all I can recognize in the iTunes folder under " Music"  are the music files found in the "iTunes Music" folder. (There are also a ton of files named "iTunes Temp (some #).) The Books list on the computer shows some but not all of the audiobooks -  I purchased the rest on a different computer that is now unfortunately dead. I'm guessing now that those didn't transfer over when the new computer was populated from the old one, so the iPod may be the only place where those audiobooks now reside.  I hope that made some sense- any additional advice would be appreciated.

  • I activated home sharing but after syncing, the cd's Tunes which I had burned on my PC, did not share to my other devices but instead the cloud symbol has an error message next to each song not purchased through iTunes.

I activated iTunes Match but the songs in my iTunes library that were not purchased through iTunes did not share to my other devices. instead there is a cloud with an exclaimation point nnext to eahc one and it says errror when you mouse over the cloud.  How do I get these songs to share on iTuens Match?

Well, now I feel like a real dope. I restarted iTunes (can't believe I didn't do that before) and now the TV's see the share, and the iPhone see it too (I assume the iPad sees it but I have not checked yet).

  • Is it possible to restore songs (not purchased through itunes) erased from a device by itunes sync?

I recently had to reinstall itunes after all of my computer files were completely lost. When I plugged my iphone into itunes and attempted to transfer my music from the phone to the computer (running windows 8.1), itunes erased all of my music that was not purchased through apple (and also ruined my playlists). Because the files on my computer were all lost, i do not have this music backed up anywhere.
I was wondering if there was any way to recover all of the songs that itunes had erased from my phone.
This really is quite frustrating because the deleted songs arent even available on itunes itself for purchase!

    no
It is very important to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.

  • Updating an App purchased directly (not through AppStore)

Many years ago, I purchased Apple Remote Desktop from Apple. I paid for some upgrades, and got some via the software update mechanism.  The current version on my machine is 3.7.2, installed in March, 2014, and it seems to work fine, at least for the purposes for which I use it.
However, the newer App Store based version of software update keeps telling me that there is an update available, and identifies the program as Apple Remote Desktop, and then tells me that the new version is 3.7.2 (which is what I have now).  When I attempt to install this "update," I get a message that this is not possible -- not for the reason you might think (it's already installed), but rather
"This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled."
I think this has something to do with the fact that the software was not originally purchased through the App Store, but is there any way to correct this situation, so that (a) it will stop telling me regularly about this update that it wants (but refuses) to install, and (b) real updates will be available in the future?

How do you delete songs that you purchased through iTunes but don't show up when you connect the iphone to iTunes? They don't show up in the music section when you click on "On this phone". Side Note: I have my phone setup to manually manage music. Please help.

    Hi, Mrs.Frankie57.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you want to delete a song from your iOS device on iOS 7, tap Songs, swipe the song from right to left, then tap Delete. The song is deleted from iPhone, but not from your iTunes library on your Mac or PC, or from iCloud.

  • TS5376 What happens to the audio, music, etc. that I've uploaded to iTunes that I didn't purchase through iTunes when unstalling iTunes?

With the iTunes runtime error, the only solution seems to be to uninstall iTunes.  If I can't open iTunes as it currently the case because of this issue, therefore I can't backup.  What happens to all the audio CDs, books, etc. that I've uploaded to iTunes that I didn't purchase through iTunes when uninstalling.  Can I be assured that these are in the Cloud also?

See Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
There is a link to an iTunes library backup tip within, along with other advice on getting iTunes reinstalled and working again.
You don't need iTunes to be working to backup the library. You do need iTunes to be working to backup or restore your device...

  • I have 4 ipods 4th gen and want to know if one program to purchase through apple to share the music I've purchased on all of them. Is it the icloud AND itunes match?

I have 4 ipods all 4th gen and want to know if one program is available to purchase through apple to have all music I've purchased can be used on all of them. Is it a combo of both itunes match and icloud?

You don't need iTunes Match to have your music in all your devices. iTunes Match is for getting music that you've purchased elsewhere into the cloud. All you need to do is set up each of your devices to your iTunes Store account. You can then download things you've purchased by going to the Purchased section. See:

  • Can I download previous purchases on a new device with a different Apple ID?

My daugther got an iPad mini for Christmas and setup her own Apple ID. Prior to this everything we bought went through my account. She wants to download the music that is on my account but I am telling her she can't because she has a different Apple ID.
She told me that last night she went to a friends house, had her friend login to her Apple account and downloaded some of her songs and then signed back into her account and said I can just do the same thing. Is this really possible? If it's not, how did she get her friends music on her iPad?

    Not exactly:
when you download past purchases on an iOS device or computer, that device or computer becomes associated with your Apple ID.
Once a device or computer is associated with your Apple ID, you cannot associate that device or computer with another Apple ID for 90 days.
Note: Removing a device from your Apple ID does not override the 90 day timer. The timer must complete 90 days from the day the device was associated before it can be associated to another Apple ID.
iTunes Store: Associating a device or computer to your Apple ID
In other words, she won't be able to associate the device with her new apple ID for 3 months if you download past purchases on it with yours even if you subsequently dissassociate the device afterwards.

  • Does family sharing allow content not purchased through itunes?

Most of my music has been ripped from my CDs, not purchased through itunes. The family sharing feature in ios8 sounds tempting since I currently have 4 of us working from a single account which causes some issues at times. Will I still be able to share the ripped CDs and other content not purchased from itunes with other family members if we split up and then turn on family sharing?
Thus far, the 5S that just arrived today is the only device with ios8 on it. The other iphones and ipads in the house will need to be updated when it seems safe to do so. We are also running itunes on two macbook pros and a few PCs.

Yes, home sharing works with both purchased and ripped music, as well as videos.  It does not allow you to move content from one computer to another; it allows you to stream content from one computer to another computer or device on the local network (or connected via a VPN).
If you want to access music outside of your network and copying it is a problem, then you might consider Match.

  • Purchase icloud storage for devices in different countries

    Hi,
Just to relieve my system pressure. Was going to post a question. But I need to let out my grunts:
My experience with Apple is kinda written in blood. But for now I've got to live with it.
Well I'm a Globetrotter, so is my family. And Apple is not designed to have international support.
Accidental Damage: Don't buy that 'accidental damage' if you move around the globe. Isn't valid outside your region of purchase.
A good insurance or purchase through American Express is the secret to get a broken iPhone replaced.
AE replaced an broken iPhone and send me a replacement within 48 hours. Thats what I call service.
Purchase international models: Ask for it or double check what model you get. If you don't have an international model they (Apple Store) refuse to service it outside your region. Yes Apple and International Support is a joke. Only in the US the Apple Stores are great and understand we don't only stay, live and work in 1 country.
China service: Never, never service it in China. Mine got serviced (battery exchange) at an authorized service point for free.
Checked at the Apple Store in Shanghai, back home still had problems....Local Apple Store checked the phone....warranty voided.
6 months old iPhone slowly died in the month after. The suckers in China reinstalled something inside upside down and never registered it in the repair log.
Few months later back in China with the phone...No sir we didn't do it, we always register any repair.... Liars.
    Microphone:
Now I've got an EU iPhone in China with the microphone very soft. Including 'Accidental Damage', Apple China refuse to support it. It was bought in Amsterdam. A firmware update fixed the problem partially thanks to US support.
But it's annoying my kid has to use a headset for six months until he's back home and get it serviced here.
And I don't want to buy him a Chinese iPhone, cause then he doesn't get service when he's back home.
Good, finally out of my system. And remember the US Apple employees have always been the positive exemption in the last 10 years or so.
So after the long story here comes my cross border question:
I want to extend the iCloud storage from Europe for my family.
Using different App-Stores was already a crime. Thanks again for the US support to help switching stores.
1 account is switched to the Chinese Appstore
1 account is switched to the US Appstore
    Question:
Is it possible to pay in EU for iCloud accounts valid in China (RMB) and in the US (USD)
As in the end they will end up back in the EU.
What happens if you extend the storage in 1 country and then move to another country with a different currency and extend it again?

To the best of my knowledge, purchased storage stays with Apple id it is purchased to. To the best of my knowledge, it is unlike itunes store, and is not obligated to comply with local laws/regulations for downloads.
I wish sometimes that people like you could create tips on do's and don'ts internationally, since we are all a bit shortsighted when it comes to Non our country situation. Unfortunately that tip here will die in the dark.
BTW, I think your switching store may backfire for you, but I am sure you were informed of that on the phone.
    Question:
Is it possible to pay in EU for iCloud accounts valid in China (RMB) and in the US (USD)
They do not care( they will charge in acceptable units and card will take care of exchange rate), as long as card is accepted by corresponding store ( it is if it is on your file, and if not on file -you will find out as soon as you try to put it on it )
As in the end they will end up back in the EU.
What happens if you extend the storage in 1 country and then move to another country with a different currency and extend it again?
I think I already answered that one.

  • How to rename albums purchased through the itunes store?

Hello, I am having problems renaming albums that I purchased through itunes.  I bought the Black Sabbath Complete Studio Albums 1970-1978 and the Rush Complete Mercury years or whatever it is.  Anyway, the album titles are all listed as the same, every Black Sabbath album is called "Complete Studio Albums 1970-1978" and the same for the Rush albums.
Every time I go in and manually change the album names, when I close and reopen itunes it decides to rename them all "Complete Studio Albums 1970-1978"
Anyone know if there is some setting in itunes or possibly something in the file properties I can change to keep this from happening? Sifting through my ipod and having 8-10 albums under the same album name is the issue here that I am desperately trying to resolve.
    Thanks,
    -Patrick
