Appstore and Itunes not working

When I try to open the Mac Appstore it opens but shows no content.
when I click to logout the app crashes
If I open I tunes, I cannot see the itunes store, I can see MyApps etc. It tells me there is an update available, when I click to download the appstore app crashes.
Running OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 on a Mid 2014 macbook pro.
I dont think it is a network issue as I can login to Itunes with a windows PC using the same network connection
I have reset my Param file, and tried a few other "fixes" I have seen online about a month ago when the problem first showed up...

Thanks!

  • After new download, Safari and Itunes not working?

So the other day my dad ran the updates on my MacBook and ever since then my internet is not working on either Safari or Itunes. I can connect to the internet on Firefox though. I am on 10.4.11 if that helps. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Use Disk Utility to repair permissions on your drive. If that doesn't work then boot from your install CD and use Disk Utility to verify and repair your hard drive.
When something like this starts to happen it is possible sign of something worse being wrong with the computer operating system. Now is a good time to back up before you do any repairs. Some of these post-update minor problems have seemed to foretell something worse resulting.
You should always repair your drive and permissions before installing and update, and repair permissions immediately afterwards. The more cautious of us also back up our drives before doing an update.

We are sorry for the inconvenience.* I tried to open quicktime and that doesnt work neither....Can anyone help me because it ***** having something new but cannot use it.

Have you installed any of the following:
ACE & K-Lite mega codecs package, QT alternative, Storm codec, WinAVI video converter, Mpcstar, (possibly starcodec pack, 3ivx)
these are bad news for Quicktime and if you have any of them they need to be uninstalled before installing the stand alone Quicktime.

  • Kext cleanup, now time machine and itunes not working

I cleaned up all my kext files from Sep 2013 back (as suggested in an article) to address the kernel_task overload, but now itunes won't play (play button works but songs do not move forward), time machine will not restore backup and no audio comes from google chrome. Do I need to reinstall each individual program/application? Will a reinstall of Mavericks work?

The article was written by an idiot.
If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data, then reinstall the OS.* You don't need to erase the startup volume, and you won't need the backup unless something goes wrong. If the system was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you may need the Apple ID and password you used.
If you use FileVault 2, then before running the Installer you must launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the FileVault startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) It will be nested below another icon with the same name. Click the Unlock button in the toolbar and enter your login password when prompted. Then quit Disk Utility to be returned to the main Recovery screen.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
If you installed the Java runtime distributed by Apple and still need it, you'll have to reinstall it. The same goes for Xcode. All other data will be preserved.
*The linked support article refers to OS X 10.9 ("Mavericks"), but the procedure is the same for OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later.

  • Ipod touch and itunes not working with vista?

I bought a 32gb ipod touch(2nd gen) today and so far it's been nothing but a massive headache for hours. I've had an ipod video(30gb) for three years now and it's always been perfect, hasn't give me an ounce of trouble.
I get home, checked that I had the current itunes version, and then plugged in my ipod touch. I immediately got an itunes error saying that the apple mobile support device was out of date, and I had to re-install itunes. I did that but it still didn't work, it wouldn't recognize my ipod touch. I deleted all my itunes and apple folders and restarted(and uninstalled). Now my ipod still won't recognize when i plug it in on my desktop, it gives me an intunes error saying something like " your ipod touch cannot work because you dont have the 64bit version blah blah ". Which is ridiculous because I'm on windows vista 64bit, and the version of itunes I got was the 64 bit, i checked it three times and even re-downloaded/installed it.
I tried my second desktop which is on windows XP and it wouldn't recognize my ipod touch either. Then finally I took out my laptop which is windows XP, and plugged in my ipod touch. My ipod touch works fine on my laptop, but not on my other two desktops.
I need for it to work on my main desktop(the one with vista) because it has all my music.
So any ideas as to why this is happening? and how to fix it.

    Hi,
What is the name of the iTunes installer file you used? Try downloading and installing the iTunes again from the iTunes64Setup.exe file located here: http://support.apple.com/downloads/iTunes8_1_1_for_Windows__64_bit
If the issue persists, verify the usbaapl64.sys driver is being used by following the steps under *Verify iPhone Driver/Service Installation* in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1495
If the issue is not resolved after installing iTunes from the iTunes64Setup.exe file and the correct driver is being used, reconfigure or disable the security software on the PC and reinstall iTunes.

  • Ipod and Itunes not working..Locking up, No song list etc.

I am having a weird problem with my 5G 30gb Ipod video. I pressed the eject button after I was finished syncing a movie with the ipod, after about 5 mins the Ipod was still saying "do not disconnect", I really needed to go, so I unplugged it. later I noticed that there were no songs, videos playlists on it. when I checked the status of the disk, it stated that there was 20 gb used (which is what it was when the songs were on it, so the data is on the ipod). Now when I hook it up with Itunes, I get nothing! ITunes locks up. I have to stop the process etc.
Has anyone else had this problem? How can I fix it?

ha! nevermind. I followed another threads advice and downloaded the quicktime standalone. Works fine for now at least. Regardless, would it still be a good idea to reformat? Thanks...

    Hi Danycom,
Try this... locate these files: com.apple.help.plist and com.apple.helpviewer.plist and com.apple.recentitems.plist and
    There are located here:
/Home/Library/Preferences. Open the Preferences folder, locate those files and drag them to the Trash. Empty the Trash and reboot. This fix should also correct your iTunes Help Viewer also. If this doesn't do the job, post back and we'll dig deeper!

You should copy everything from your old comptuer to your new one.

Disconnect the iPad, do a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. The screen will go blank and then power ON again in the normal way.] It is 'appsolutely' safe!, reconnect and follow the prompts.
If that does not work then see here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features(Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (If this won't uninstall press on)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
See also HT1925: Removing and Reinstalling iTunes for Windows XP or HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
    and paste into:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.
