  • IPhone 4 crashed during app update, apps are blank

I had 24 app updates in the app store, tried to update through the phone. It crashed during the update, and now all the to-be-updated apps are showing up with a white generic logo and 'waiting...' message, updates do not go through. The app store still shows 24 updates, but when I go into that page it just spins. I have rebooted twice. I will not be close to my phone backup until tomorrow. Any ideas are greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Try to force your phone into recovery mode. Disconnect it from the computer's USB cord. Turn it off if you can by holding the sleep/wake switch until you see the red slide to off. If you can't turn it off, please continue. Press and hold the home button while plugging it into the computer's USB cord. Continue holding the Home button while iPhone starts up. While starting up, you will see the Apple logo. When you see "Connect to iTunes" on the screen, you can release the Home button and iTunes will display the recovery mode message. See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808 for details.
Then you can restore your phone: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414

  • Whatsapp crashing after app update

    Hi,
After I updated the newest version Whatsapp 2.11.12 (I think it is) yesterday on my iPhone 5, the app keep crashing down every time I try to open the app. I get a notification that I have received messages but it won't let me open it. Yesterday before I updated the app, it was working perfect. How can fix the problem? I have never before had any kind of problems with the app, and until now I have really enjoyed using the app. I tried finding some solution for my problem online. Someone wrote that they had the same problem as me, when it won't stop crashing, but when they had less than 18% battery it works normal without crashing. I tried it too, and now my whatsapp work again. But as soon as it gets past the 18% battery level, the same problem appear and it continue crashing. Of course this is not optimal and acceptable way to use whatsapp, so i hope you can help me fix the problem.

    Hi,
After app installation, have you tried resetting your Touch?
    Dud.

  • 9360, crashes before app updates can be installed.

Ok. ive had this problem since day one. when i try to update my apps, i click on the app i want updated. i then click on update. the update begins to download, and everything is fine. but when the update is finished it does not install. instead, as soon as it is downloaded i will get a loading icon in the middle of my screen then my blackberry turns off and reboots. this happens with every app, and also happens when i check for OS updates. please help.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
While the above advice may well be your recommended course of action, I believe further information is needed before deducing that path...
    1) Exactly what method are you attempting to update these apps? AppWorld? The Desktop Software? Some other means?
    2) Have you performed a proper batt-pull reboot (power ON, remove battery, wait, insert battery, wait) of your BB? And, if your PC is involved, a reboot of that as well?
    3) From your description, it sounds as if your BB reboots twice...is that what you mean by that first "loading icon in the middle" of your screen"? Is that the normal rebooting loading progress bar? Or is that some other icon?
If indeed you deduce that your OS has become corrupt, then a clean reload would indeed be in order. Here's a process:
At the top of each device forum, there should be some "sticky" threads that discuss the OS levels available for many models. If they include your model, then please use those as reference as you proceed. Otherwise, you will have to dig through the official download portal for OS packages for your model:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
From a PC, you can install any compatible (e.g., for your exact BB Model Number) OS package to a BB via this procedure:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...
Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC. If that OS package is from a carrier other than the carrier for which your BB was originally manufactured, then delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
Be sure that you remove, from your PC, any other BB device OS packages as having more than one installed to the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.
You may also want to investigate the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe it is capable of.
You may also want to try this procedure to perhaps narrow down the precise causal item:
Load your OS "bare bones"...if anything is optional, do not install it.
If the behavior presents immediately, then try a different OS with step 1
If the behavior does not immediately present, then run for as long as it takes for you to be sure that the behavior will not present.
Add one thing -- no matter how tempting, just one.
If the behavior does not present immediately, then again run for long enough to be sure it will not have the same problem
Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are loaded or the behavior presents
When the behavior presents, you know the culprit...the last thing you loaded.
If the behavior does not re-present, then you know that either step 1 or 2 cured it.
If the behavior presents no matter what, then you likely have a hardware level issue for which no amount of OS or software can cure.
If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:
KB19915How to perform a clean reload of BlackBerry smartphone application software using BlackBerry Desktop Software

    Thank you.

I found the answer just after posted this.  Thanks to a user named CloudWalker.  Solution is to go in AppStore, View Account under "Store" Menu and unhide any purchases.

You can't.  Apps and really all content purchased/downloaded through one Apple ID is forever tied to that Apple ID.  In the case of Apps they will always request that Apple ID to update as they are licensed to that Apple ID.
In reality, the Apps were licensed to that Apple ID by the developer.  And cannot simply be given away to you for you to use.
He should have wiped the iPod clean so you could set it up for your use without any of his accounts or purchased content as you are not really licensed to any of those Apps.
Your friend should have followed this support document before giving the iPod to you:

I was able to see app updates in my appstore but now suddenly there are no updates available what is the reason?

Hello, I have the same problem but 2 days ago I switched from an iPhone 4 to a 5 so I don't know if is a general issue or related from my iPhone upgrade.
I know I have some apps to update but EVERYWHERE (iPad store, iPhone and iMac) it says "no app updates available".
Please reply me if you got any fix!

  • App Updater Crashes on MacOS with Air 3.9

We just released a new version of our desktop Air app, nothing different with any of the configuration files except for a higher version number. One of our Mac users (10.8.5) who had already updated to Air 3.9 sees the auto updater dialog and it appears to download the new version but then immediately crashes and does not come back. I went to one our our Macs (10.8.5) that did not have the 3.9 Air update and ran the updater and it ran successfully as normal with no problems. I then uninstalled the newest build of our app, updated to Air 3.9, reinstalled the old version of our app, and ran the updater again and experienced the same crashing problem as the other Mac that had already updated. Testing with and without the Air 3.9 update on Windows 7 and 8 does not yield any problems.
    Does anybody have any suggestions?

Could you please open a new bug report on this over at bugbase.adobe.com?  When adding the bug, it would be great if we could get copies of both the new and older versions of your application.  If you'd like to keep this private, feel free to email the installers to me directly ([email protected]).
Once added, please post back with the URL and I'll start our internal investigation.
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • Does killing the AppStore app stops automatic app updates?

I stopped the AppStore app on my iPhone, removed it from the recents list and haven't opened it for a while. During this time, no app updates came in. Then yesterday I opened up AppStore again and it found 37 updates. I thought that stopping and removing the app from the recent apps list does not interfere the updates from coming, am I wrong?

It is not necessary to have the App Store open for updates. It appears this is an anomaly on your phone. You can try to just power the phone off/on and see if that helps. Your last step might be to perform a reset, holding the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. This will make the phone reboot. The only way to tell then if it makes any difference is if you receive an app update.

  • Appstore won't show app updates

After my iphone5 updateed to IOS 6.0.2, my iphone won't show any app updates anymore. If I go to the appstore app on my iphone, I tap updates, it tells me "All apps are up to date". But if I search the apps one by one, it shows "updates"... connection to appstore is not a problem.
Anybody has the same issue here?

    Hi Frustratedannon!
I completely understand your frustration regarding these issues. Allow me to suggest a couple of things that may help lessen your frustration and resolve some issues. First, you should look to see if you have Automatic Downloads activated on your iPad (it could explain why the Simpsons game would have showed up on your iPad out of the blue):
iTunes Store: How to enable Automatic Downloads
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4539
In order to actually get rid of the Simpsons app or finish downloading it, you may need to try turning off your iPad, then turning it back on. You also may need to try a reset, which is a simple power cycle procedure that does not affect your data on your iPad. Both of these steps are explained in the following article:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset

Take care, and thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities.

  • BMW i3 Remote app is crashing after todays update. Why?

I installed the latest version of the BMW i3 Remote app which was updated to support the Apple Watch. After installing there update the app continually crashes. Any updates on why this is occurring?

BMW released yet another new version of the i Remote app last night. I installed this one over the top the the previous (updated) version and all was just fine. The only comment from BMW was "Apple Watch Support" and "Bug Fixes" I think BMW really need to follow Tesla in more comprehensive release notes for their software updates - same goes for the car.
Having said all that I would suggest it is best practice with this app to delete and reinstall when there is an update. I agree that there must have been a database structure change and this caused the crashing issue.
    best regards,
    Justin.

i updated my ipod and my computer crashed during the update now the apps that come with the ipod such as the app store and itunes are not on my ipod how do i fix this

Connect your iPod to any computer with iTunes installed, highlight your device and try syncing the apps only. If it doesn't work might have to restore through iTunes. With the new iTunes and iCloud beta, you can have the iTunes list what apps are missing on your device but if you had previously purchased in the past and then have iTunes install them. You should always get in the habit of backing up your iPhone whenever you do any firmware/OS updating/upgrading or transferring over to new device. I really really really really hope you can get back at least some of your old info. I will tell you this, I have been kicking myself in the butt for not routinely backing up my iPhone when my beautiful special iPhone 4 came up missing and had to revert back to my 3GS. iPhone 5 will be released in a few months so I am holding off on purchasing a new iPhone til then, not that I did so without reservation and a little bit of iPhone 4 withdraw.

  • Pro App update 4.0.1 - Macbook Pros and Motion 3 crash

Anyone know if this Pro App update that came out today addresses the issue of Motion 3 crashing on the new Macbook Pros? Anyone know if it's safe now to run the Macbook Pro Software Update 1.0?
There's no new information on the article page:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306038
And of course, the information on the Pro App Update page tells us NOTHING about what it actually fixes.
After the major problems the MBP software update caused, I'm extremely hesitant to run any updates as I cannot afford to have to wipe my hard drive AGAIN due to a bad update. YUCK!
I'd try it myself, but being in the middle of a couple of projects, I just can't afford to take the risk.

OK, just got off the phone with tech support. This Pro Apps update does NOT address the Motion 3 crashing issue.
MBP owners, still should NOT RUN THE MBP SOFTWARE UPDATE 1.0.
Good news is that I was told that the issue (Motion crashing due to the new video cards and OpenGL) has been heavily escalated.
