AppStore has no Progress bar in purchases but I see one in updates?

I have a problem with the progress bar not showing in purchases after i clicked install for the app to download. The file cannot be seen in apps folder until it is done whenever it gets there. I did get Mavericks this way over night and I was greeted with a install window the next day. I don' t want to install right away so I turned it off and left it in apps folder. I used activity monitor and it showed it was using lots of bandwidth I got 3gigs next day. It's happened more than once. I don't like something coming in that uses up all my hardrive if airport is left on!

I'm not sure what your issue is. The Maveriscks installer is 5.29 GBs. Just as the Mavericks pane in the Mac App Store states. And when an OS X installer completes the download it automatically opens, however as you saw it does give you the decision as to whether to go ahead with the install. You can also see a progress bar for a downloading app in Launchpad.

  • Muse progress bar says installing but it isn't

I am trying to install Adobe muse 2014.3 on an imac running OS 7.5 Lion, but the progress bar just stays up for hours without doing anything in application manager. I did try with an older version installed and updating but the same thing happened, so I uninstalled but it hasn't changed anything, still the same lack of action. There are no error messages or timing out, what am I doing wrong? All other Adobe software I have installed has worked fine through application manager by just clicking install.

    Hello,
Adding on to Cari's suggestions can you please confirm if you are installing Muse CC 2014.3 from Adobe Application Manager or Adobe Creative Cloud.
In case of any confusion please  make sure you are installing it from Creative Cloud application. You can download it from the link below.
Download Adobe Creative Cloud apps | Free Adobe CC trial
Once installed > Sign In with Adobe Id > Go to "Apps"> Install Muse C 2014.3 from the list

  • Podcast has no progress bar

When I play a song or video on my iPhone, I have a progress bar that shows me how long the song/video is and tracks in progress, just as it does in iTunes.
However, when I play a podcast that I have downloaded, this progress bar is not present, so I cannot tell how long the podcast is, how far I have got through it and I can't backtrack or move forward/backwards through it like I can with a song/video.
Why is this? How do I get the progress bar on a podcast?
    iPhone 4, iOS v 4.3.5

Until a few weeks ago, there WAS a progress bar when I played podcasts. But I recently noticed that it's gone. Did you just recently get your iPhone?
I agree that it makes no sense that there is no easy way to scrub through a podcast or see how much more there is left to play. I have no idea why the progress bar has gone away. There was also a button that, when touched, would immediately backtrack 30 seconds and start playing from there. That button has also disappeared.
Can anyone please enlighten us?! Is there a setting somewhere (I've looked for one) or did Apple change this in a recent iTunes update?
    Thanks.

  • Where has the progress bar gone from the bottom of my form

The progress bar has DISAPPEARED from the bottom of my forms. They are questionnaires so it is essential that I have them!
Has the feature been removed or is it just a bug?

It no longer appears for a one page form or on the last page of a multiple page form.
Are you not seeing it on other pages of a multiple page form? Can you send a link to your form to [email protected] so we can take a look.

  • Progress bar shows multiple messages when sending one.

When I send a single email in Mail, the progress bar will often show "Sending 2 of 2 messages". Is it bundling and holding messages or sending multiples? I'm not sending to multiple addresses, unless my own and the recipient counts as two. Any explanation?

are you using an IMAP account? if so it's probably just mail syncing your sent mailbox with the server.

  • My friend recommended an app and I downloaded it but when I did, a copy popped up as well. The installation progress bar is full but the app won't open and I can't delete it. Help please

    Please help

Sydneybling it does sound like your security software is interfering with the process of installing and utilizing your Adobe Creative applications.  I would recommend that you try temporarily disabling your security software and utilizing the directions listed at Install and update apps - https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html to install InDesign CC.

  • The Apple ID has been changed on my iPad but the apps won't update with the new id and password, including the apps that came with the iPad so I can't delete and reinstall with new Apple ID

What do you do if you have bought a used iPad and the apps won't update without the original id and password.  Can't delete the apps that come with the iPad and reinstall them so what do I do?

Correct. An app can only be updated under the Apple ID that was used to orginally acquire the app. If that is a problem you can delete the app and download again under the new userid. If you paid for the app you will have to pay again. Your old Apple ID does not go away so there is no reason to not use it to download the apps.
You cannot delete the apps that came with IOS. If you want to "hide" the apps simply put the apps into an application folder by dragging one app onto another. You can do this to all the IOS apps.

No need for alarm. There are several folks a day posting like threads. Most folks know these phishing attempts for what they are and merely delete with prejudice.

  • Expecting 2 OSPF Type 5 LSA's but only seeing one?

    Hi all,
we are dual homing with another AS and we have BGP routes being redistributed in to OSPF...
am I right in thinking that when looking at the type 5 LSA's for a particular prefix, I should see two of them? One type 5 LSA from each ASBR? How can I confirm that OSPF knows about the backup route for a particular prefix?
    thanks
    Mario

    Hi Peter,
from the routing table for prefix 10.0.0.0/14 we get this...

          Route tag 5151
    TH_DC_core_01#
when looking at the OSPF DB, we get this...
Routing Bit Set on this LSA

            Metric: 100000
            Forward Address: 0.0.0.0
            External Route Tag: 5151
When i look to see about any type 5 LSA's being advertised by the backup router i see nothing!
    TH_DC_core_01#show ip ospf database external adv-router 10.131.0.246
OSPF Router with ID (10.129.0.252) (Process ID 200)

OSPF Router with ID (192.168.0.252) (Process ID 800)
This is telling me that a) either the LSA's are being flushed (as you said) or b) the secondary router is not redistributing for some reason.
Any more advice on this would be very much appreciated.
    thanks

  • After a series of very short power outages in my town our Imac boots with the pinwheel going and a progress bar, then the users screen comes up but our passwords no longer opens up desktops, just returns to the users choice screen.  What should I do?

I'm on the choose a user screen and when I enter the password the screen goes white then returns to choosing a user. The system is rebooting differently when I tried turning off then back on, the pinwheel screen has a progress bar and it takes minutes instead of seconds.
    what should I try?

You can try an SMC reset, especially if there was a power outage.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
If the issue seems like it just doesn't want to accept the password you'll need to boot to the install disc/recovery partition of the hardrive by holding the 'option' key while booting up. There should be a utility in there to reset your password.

  • Export progress bar shows, but no SWF appears

    Hello all,
i've been through tech support and about 100 different sites with this issue but nothing seems to help. I'm using windows Vista 64 bit (work machine, not personal) with Adobe CS5 production premium. I have this training I created in flash and it used to export just fine. I was able to test and everything, but lately, it stopped doing that. I hit CTRL+enter, and it won't give me a SWF file. I hit debug it says it can't find the swf. I looked in the folder where everything is for the training, and sure enough, there is no SWF file there. I tried hitting CTRL + enter and watching the folder. The SWF file appears while the export progress bar is going, but the second the bar is done, the file vanishes. For a while, if I went into File and hit Export Movie, it worked, but even that's stopped working. Can anyone help me figure this out?
FYI - I put the file on my Mac and it works fine there. I can export, make changes, debug, anything I like. It's just on my windows work machine.

    Hi,
Please zip up all of your files, change .zip extension to .zzz and email it to my attention at [email protected] Please also add the link to this thread. I'll take a look at it.

  • Gray progress bar on boot twice now

I've experienced a gray bar on boot twice now. I upgraded to a 2011 MBP and transferred my 500 GB Toshiba SSD from last year's MBP into the new model, into the SuperDrive slot using a MCE OptiBay (I put the existing SSD into the OptiBay since the SuperDrive's SATA channel is 3Gbps and the Vertex III I have on order is 6Gbps and will use the system's primary SATA channel). The drive has worked flawlessly for a year, and Disk Utility reports no errors, but Googling the issue indicates that the gray progress bar appears when fschk is checking the drive. I've noticed that my wallpaper has been slow to appear on both occasions, defaulting to the OS X default for a few moments after I log in.
I'm concerned that my drive is going bad, but cannot find any indication that this is the case beyond the intermittent gray progress bar on boot. At least one time after boot the progress bar occurred after a Software Update (Security and Safari). My system's logs also give me no indication what the problem might me. Here is one boot log that resulted in a gray progress bar - https://gist.github.com/922265.
I'd appreciate any help on the matter. Thanks!

I would expect either issue to produce a slow boot either time if either package were the problem. Both packages have been installed for a couple of yours without issue. Also, both apps produce these errors on normal boots as well. I wonder if the errors have to do with the fact that the applications weren't installed on the OS, rather they were already present after I put the old HD in the new system and "upgraded" the OS in place using the system disc that came with the new laptop in order to have the Sandy Bridge drivers installed.
I was hoping you or someone might spot something slightly more definitive in the logs. The time gaps are definitely interesting to me. I think I'll see if I can turn on verbose logging and get any more telling information. Thanks for your help!

  • Safari 4.0 progress bar and Top Sites bugs (?)

    Hi there,
I am having a problem with my Safari 4 and been searching for a fix since a few days but could not find a solution, so I hope there is someone who can help me out.
There are basically two problems, I have with Safari.
The first one is, that since Safari 4.0 there is a new kind of a "progress bar" which changes its color and is actually at first dark and then gets more light while loading a page. My progress bar is not chaning colors at all. It just stays dark all the time.
And the second one, is that if you have a site on you "Top Sites" and click that, it fades in, so it comes nearer and gets larger until it fits the window. So, if you go back from that site to you "Top Sites" again, it actually should fade out and move back to its old position on the "Top Sites". And again, my Safari does not do that either.
I don't know, if that is improtant or not, but I played around with the Safari 4 beta tweaks and changed the progress bar so I have the blue one in the background of my adress bar.
I already tried to restore my old Safari from my Programs folder with Time Machine and installed the 4.0 again but still, it does not work for me.
I know that these are not somehow critical bugs but it would be great, if Safari would just work, as it actually should.
So, is there a way to fix that or reset Safari?
    Thank you in advance!

    Hi
Latest v of Glims (17) is Safari 4 compatible. Cooliris is functional, although a soon to be released upgrade will correct certain S4 related bugs. Tab Expose is not S4 compatible.
There is no blue progress bar in Safari 4. In S4 Beta, Terminal code was used to bring that S3 feature back, however, S4 final has removed the related code. Hence, no blue progress bar. Instead, there's a spinning gear to the right of the Address Bar indicating the page is loading.
Let Apple hear your sentiments about S4. Send feedback to Apple via the Safari Menu>Report bugs to Apple.

  • Missing Print Progress Bar--bug or feature?

Since upgrading to Acrobat 8 Professional (v. 8.1.2) on a Mac Intel Quad-core running OS X 10.5.1, there is no progress bar when printing. I only know that printing is done by hovering over the "stoplight" buttons and noticing when they become responsive again. (The window itself does not become active until I click in it.) It's as if there *is* a progress bar window somewhere, but it's not visible, and it's not giving up "front window" status when it's done.
Has anyone else noticed this behavior? It's not affecting function, it's merely annoying. But with the radical redesign of the interface from Acrobat 7 to Acrobat 8, I can't tell if this is a bug or a feature. Any insight will be welcome.
    Thanks,
    David Reiffel

I am new to this problem, having recently upgraded to Intel Macs from Acrobat Pro 7. There is another issue that seems to have been missed both in this thread and the other one referenced by David above. When the progress bar is on-screen, there is also a cancel button. So now you have the situation where Acrobat is unable to report how far through a print job it is and you are also disallowed from cancelling the job without resorting to a Force Quit... Now, that's the sort of usability I'd pay good money for! The problem doesn't occur using a PowerMac G5, so the functionality is there, it just doesn't translate to the Intel platform. Adobe Reader 9 also prints without a progress bar, so it looks like the problem is here to stay unless a fuss is made and this becomes a 'known issue'
I've raised this as a case with Adobe customer care on 1 September but this hasn't been addressed as yet. I'll post any follow-up I get here.

  • Streaming Video Progress Bar

I need to create a progress bar for my streaming video to let
the user know how much of the video has already been
downloaded/streamed. Making a progress bar for a progressive
download is easy, just check the bytesLoaded vs the bytesTotal. But
apparently with a streaming video those do not work. What exactly
do I need to check in order to create a progress bar for a
streaming video. Here is my sample code that doesn't work for the
    progress bar.
