Appstore still showing apps need updating

I did my usual daily procedure, of opening up iTunes, updating any apps then syncing the phone to update them on there. I did this for 5 apps but the 5 notification is not disappearing. When I click on updates it shows them as update but with a open button. I have tried opening them up to see if it removes the 5, but it doesn't.
This hasn't happened before, any help would be appreciated.

It is up to the developer to update non Apple apps. Be sure to read any reviews for an app you are considering before you buy it.

  • New Keynote still Showing as needing Update

I updated Keynote on one of our Macs, and then to save download bandwidth, I copied the new updated Keynote another of our Macs.
Runs fine, but Software Update on both of the computers show that the updage (already downloaded and installed) is still available...
Thoughts on how to keep this from showing as an update?
    Thanks
    Bob

    Dah veed,
I reindexed Spotlight, but Software Update still thinks that Keynote needs to be updated...
Seems like in the "old days" that there used to be a pkg that needed to be trashed....  That being said, I'm not sure how Software Update keeps track of software and updates these days...
    Thanks

  • After updating all apps App Store still shows apps to update

I have 6 apps in the App Store in the update section: Cloud, Keynote, Pages, iMovie, Xcode, Numbers.
    Screenshot:
For example Numbers is up-to-date (it's 3.2.2 already)
But the system still shows the update info for some reason. When I click update, a progress bar appears and the update is downloaded.
The update is installed and shows status 'Installed' - the counter for updates decreases.
But when I quit App Store and relaunch it 6 updates appear again (Numbers as well)
What I did already (and it didn't help)
I had Spotlight disabled, re-enabling it and re-indexing => nothing
reset App Store and remove cookies with Debug mode => nothing
    Any ideas?

Ok, I fixed it somehow (not sure if this is a real solution or just an accident). What I did: log out of App Store and log in again, quit App Store, remove it from Dock, in Activity Monitor kill everything app store related. Go to 'About this Mac' click 'Software Update' and there was just a real XCode update which finished. Woohoo!

  • App Store always shows Motion needs updating...

I've had this problem for months now.  The App Store always shows Motion needs updating.  But I have updated Motion (I check to make sure I have the current version).
I've ignored this problem up until now because Motion works fine and I do have the current version.  I figured that sooner or later Apple would issue some fix, or that it would disappear on a future Motion or OS update.  Well, I just updated to Mountain Lion yesterday, and I've updated Motion at least a couple of times, and the problem continues.
And now it's getting stuck in a loop showing I need to update to 5.0.7, even though I've updated.  But now when I look in the update section of the App Store, it shows that it is possible to update (even though I have the current version).  If I click "Update" again, it starts downloading and then starts endlessly installing it, but never finishes.
Any idea what's going on here?  Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

I did speak with Apple support last night.  I uninstalled & reinstalled, and now I have the current version and it is working fine.
However, I'm still having the same problem I've been having for months:  The App Store shows that I need to update Motion, even though I already have the current version.  I don't know what is causing that, especially after I uninstalled and reinstalled.

  • Hi there, I have installed iTune on my new Toshiba laptop which runs on Win 8.  I can update itune on Toshiba laptop, sync but the iphone Apps still showing app to be updated.  Restarted both Itune

Hi there, I have installed iTune on my new Toshiba laptop which runs on Win 8.  I can update itune on Toshiba laptop, sync but the iphone Apps still showing app to be updated.  Restarted both Itune and iphone....reset phone backup....to no avail.....HELP!

I have removed now all bloatware from laptop, CCleaner run and some more stuff: installed Libre Office, Free Avast, Mozilla Firefox - Spotify was preinstalled. And now this is even better - really simple and fast.
I also removed Ethernet completely, as I don't want to be locked at one place. It's not cool to use laptop on divan sofa. So tired after hour of sitting in uncool position. Wifi speed loss is almost 50%. 95 Mbps I get from 100 Mbps at Ethernet and on Wifi in laptop I get at max 50 Mbps. It's only for end this year this way, then I will slow down my connection anyway as for one person and laptop/smartphone it's way too much of speed for 40 €. With 27€ I can get the same 10M/10M and it will be more than enough. Now I have 100M/10M.
I'm also considering about 50M/10M option for 32.90 €, but I will see what I do. I download now test file 10GB and it loads 30-40 Mbps and sometimes even as fast as 50 Mbps. It depends on server also, but ebven on Google, which works on Ethernet at 95 Mbps, it is on Wifi nothing more than 51 Mbps.
It's also 10GB of 1,100 Offlined tracks, I tested it now. So on trips 32GB card should be enough for my phone. I'm going to one soon :)

  • My ipad 2 won't update apps. It shows that 2 apps need updating, but not which ones.

My iPad 2 won't update apps. It shows that 2 apps need updating, but doesn't show which 2.

Many people are having this problem for the last couple of days. This is a problem that Apple has to fix. If you look around the forum, you will see many, many discusssions about this and they have been going on for a few days.
According to Fly150 in another discussion, this is a workaround - for the time being.
If you want to update the Apps while waiting for Apple to fix Updates:
    1. Go to App Store
    2. Select Purchased
    3. Select All
    4. Scroll down to find the Apps showing update
    5. Select update on the Apps
This should update the Apps and get rid of the update count in App Store.

  • I have been trying to update my software in my macbook pro, but every time I go through the motions of updating/restarting my computer nothing happens and it still shows I need a software update. Anyone know why this is happening?

How large is your HD and how much space do you have left?
Check out the following & do the necessary:
Disconnect all devices from the computer then do the following:
Boot up from your Snow Leopard Install DVD while holding down the "c" key.
Select the language you wish to use, and then choose "Disk Utility" from the menu bar.
Your HD should appear in a panel on the left hand side of the window which opens. Select it and then click on the "repair disk" button in the right hand section of the window.
Once this process has been completed restart your computer and repair permissions directly from Disk Utility.
    Try SU again.
If Disk Utility is unable to complete the repair, you will need to use a stronger 3rd party utility like DiskWarrior, Techtool PRO (not Deluxe) or Drive Genius.

  • Why can't I update to OSX 10.9.1? I restart my computer and the AppStore still says I need to restart to install.  I've tried many times with failure.

I restart my computer and the AppStore still says I need to restart to install.  I've tried many times with failure.  I have restarted manually, through the appstore, and on the Apple Menu.

If your computer is looking for a server, it sounds like you might have a problem with your Internet connection.
Chrome is probably trying to warn because .exe files can contain viruses. Chances are, if you're connected to mozilla.com and have https: (a secure connection), you don't have to worry about getting software with viruses or other malware.
Is your account on your computer an administrator account? Are you able to install other programs without limitation? If not, you might not have administrative privileges, which will make it hard to install things. You can download things, that doesn't require admin privileges, but altering the computer's operation by changing programs requires such privileges. If you do have admin privileges, I don't know what could be causing your problem.
Don't know if I've helped you or not, hopefully someone else knows specifically to what you refer and can answer, if my suggestions didn't do anything to help

I verified my email but ipod touch says not verified, I go to redo and its says already verified but Itunes still shows it needs to be verified.  I was in the process of creating a new Apple ID for my touch.

Please go to Settings>Itunes and App Store and log out of your Apple id and right back in again. See if this doesn't resolve this issue.

My ipod touch is telling me that the Skype and Twitter apps need updating.  When I try to update them they both fail. I have tried numerous times.  I have tried connecting the ipod to itunes and removing the apps, to reload them but that does not work either.  If I try and update the apps through itunes the system tells me they are updated.  Can anyone assist please?

    - Try a reset. It cures amny ills
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Have you tried deleting them from the iPod and then redownloading them dorectly to the iPod?
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

To answer the post title FireFox save all downloads automatically in the download folder, which you can find in the Documents folder. If you want to choose where to save your downloads go to tools>options>check always ask me where to save files.
Secondly, I am assuming you have IE 8 installed as this is the only version that supports this fix that is currently not in beta. Go to control panel>internet options>advanced tab and reset the settings at the bottom. This may or may not fix the problem but it is a good first step.

  • On my late 2012 27" iMac, running 10.8.5, apps from the Mac App Store, after being updated, constantly show they need updated.

I have had this problem for a while. Deleted App Store, re installed, signed out and back in, called support, deleted App Store, empty trash, restart, install App Store. Still no fix.
After an update, the apps themselves show the current version. Quite a few ( not all ) will inevitebly pop up as needing updates.
    Any ideas?.

Please stop deleting the App Store application, if that's what you've been doing. It's completely pointless.
