  • Blackberry Appworld Issue BBID Password Not Accepted

I have enjoyed my PlaBk for almost a year but this has never happened. I attempted to purchase an app. When asked.com for my BBID password it would not accept it. I tried a few times more without working. So I went to Blackberry and changed my BBID password. But back on the playbook it still not accept my password. .
Something else...in MyAppWorld, when I try and re-install an previously uninstalled app, I get a 0003-0005 error on the screen of my PlaBk
When I go to the Blackberry ID in the Options, the message comes up 'Unable to Connect'
But I am connected via WiFi and I can go onto appworld???
    Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The router seems to be doing its job alright with all aspects of playbook connectivity seeming to work flawlessly. The more I read though, the more it looks like the playbook and the blackberry ID software is in some kind of conflict. So the BBID works on the phone, and on the website, but still not the playbook. A "003-005" error is generated when I attempt to update software from MyAppWorld. If I attempt to purchase, a network error is reported

  • Apps issue after OS upgrade BB 9800 Torch

    Hi,
I upgraded today OS of my Blackberry Torch 9800 to v. 6.0 subv. 9249. Unfortunately right now two apps disappeared from MyWorld - Fuel Economy Calculator and Quick Slide. Both were purchased by me in 2011. Could you explain why were these apps removed from my account? Fuel Economy Calc is still available on your website but I'm really not willing to pay again for soft I have already purchased.
When it comes to Quick Slide, it is no linger available and it even stopped working on the device. Please advise.
    Regards,
    Greg

    Hello,
First off, please refer to this information posted at the top of every page of this site:
Next, please use a PC/Browser to view the AppWorld catalog page (while NOT logged into you BB ID on your PC) for each of your desired apps:
    Fuel Economy Calculator:
    http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/19314/
I don't receive any results when I search on "Quick Slide"...perhaps it has a different name? You may have better results searching.
Review carefully the requirements for Carrier, Country, Device Model, and (likely most important in your situation) OS level. It is also possible that, when the developer released the app, it was compatible with the OS levels available at that time (e.g., something that says "Operating System: 4.6.0 or higher", if it was released pre-OS6, then it may well not be compatible with OS6). You may need to contact the developer to find out specifics.
The items should still be visible in your account, but may show as uninstalled or unavailable if they are no longer compatible with the OS level that you upgraded to.
If you still feel you need formal help with your AppWorld account, then you need to obtain formal support from BlackBerry. Formal BlackBerry support for anything at all is obtained by first contacting your mobile service provider and convincing them to escalate your case up to BlackBerry...that is the only way to receive free formal support from BlackBerry for anything, including AppWorld issues.
    Good luck!

  • Error downloading app - code 30511

I've just tried to download a slide lock app, and the money has been taken from my account.  At the end, I got an error message - "Error getting the license", code 30511, and telling me to contact Blackberry App World.  I can't even work out how to contact them!
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Here is a KB that discusses that error:
KB26139 When purchasing an application in BlackBerry App World, the BlackBerry smartphone user receives Error 30511
It seems to contradict what you were otherwise instructed to do. But it does make sense...the app developer has a dedicated communication channel ("vendor portal") for raising issues with RIM regarding AppWorld issues. They need to exercise that and determine why their license key is not being generated/delivered to the end users.
Good luck and let us know!

  • How does App World search work?

    Hi!
I've realized that the only way to appear in search results is with app name words.
It does not matter what your description or short description is, only words in app name are taken in account.
This means you can not name your app with only a "name" as it will not be shown by any search terms.
    Am i true?
This is awfull! I have apps that should be found by some keywords and I can not put all of them in the name.
It would very usefull to have a keywords field on app settings.
My apps for Playbook: PlayEpub Book Reader with epub and FB2 support, Google Reader, ReaditLater - Net Files Share Explorer Get access to your network shared files- FFSync Sync your Firefox bookmarks and passwords
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Your findings are correct, the search currently works only on the title of the app.
I was talking to one of the AppWorld reps at BlackBerry 10 Jam about this and similar AppWorld issues.
e.g. I was looking to download "MorphWiz-Play" but I only recalled the app name included the word "Play" so I searched on that... several hundred un-related apps came back because many apps labeled themselves as "Something for BlackBerry PlayBook".
Since BlackBerry 10 will run many of the apps currently in AppWorld for the PlayBook... the additional "suffix" of " for BlackBerry PlayBook" is going to become both misleading and innaccurate.  The rep indicated that there were several changes coming to address this... as well as the search in general.
Reading between the lines, I gathered that the current search on the title only was due to many developers using "keyword stuffing" in their app descriptions, which again makes the search results useless.
As for what the "next" search strategy is exactly... I don't know... but I'd like it to be something like:
Strip off the suffix on all apps that are "Something for BlackBerry PlayBook"
Change the search to run against both the app title and the description
Weigh the results such that matches in the title are higher than those matches in the description
As it is currently... matches for apps with both "keyword A" AND "keyword B" weigh more than results that match on "keyword A" OR "keyword B"... it is important that this is not lost when enabling search on descriptions
At the same time, it would be nice to try and handle the keyword stuffing issue as well... I'm not sure if this should be done when approving app descriptions (e.g. strip out obvious stuffing) or as part of the AppWorld query... where descriptions stuffed with keywords rank lower... e.g. stop abuse/gaming of the system.

  • This may be more of an OS issue than a Curve issue but here goes. How do you remove the installed apps list on my 8530's AppWorld?

I have never purchased any apps yet but I have tried quite a few and now I'm stuck with this list of more than 20 apps listed in the Uninstalled section of my 8530's Blackberry App World.
As they are ALL free apps that I tried and DON'T installed on my phone for one reason or another, I would like to remove any existence of these apps from my phone and/or my App World Account.
    Any suggestions would be welcome.

What Part of 'Evil' do you not understand?

    Hello,
What you ask cannot be done. The AppWorld servers forever remember every app you download to your BB, free or not. Consider the alternative...if those were paid apps and RIM did not retain the purchase record, then when you want the app back later, you'd have to pay again...not a good situation I'd think.
And, before you say it...I agree...I think that they should be able to differentiate between free and fee-based apps. But, they don't. That's just the way it works.
    Good luck!

  • Trouble with AppWorld 3.0 on Blackberry 9300

I have a Blackberry Curve 9300. I'm having issues with Appworld. I installed 16 apps and after i restart my phone Appworld says I don't have any apps installed. I wiped my phone using bbsak and reinstalled apps. Same thing happed. I am currently using Appworld 2.1.4.9 and its working perfectly.I'm assuming this is a bug or something. I am using OS 5.0.0.846. Thanks for any help

    Hi Biker592,
Using App World 3.0 I would try reinserting the battery and clearing the App World cache then refreshing your applications list. The applications should then show in the list.  http://bit.ly/kga5qH

  • Download link to upgrade AppWorld does not work on BB9900

    Hi,
I just got a new BB9900. When I opened AppWorld I got the message that I needed to upgrade to a newer version of AppWorld.
I clicked the link to open the BB site in my browser, and clicked through on 'update today', I then end up at download site, but I can't click any buttons to start the download. Seems like a bug to me...
Please let me know how I can upgrade AppWorld when the download site does not seem to work.
Upgrading via the desktop software is no option. As I cannot install any software on my business laptop.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

    Hey dneirv,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
I would suggest going to www.blackberry.com/appworld/download and then download the file and restart the BlackBerry smartphone and then you should have the most up to date version.
Let me know if you still have problems with the update.
    Cheers.

  • No way to actually download appworld 3.1.2--please help

    Hello, I have a 9900 (t-mobile).
I tried to access the app store and was told that to do so I need to update the app. I follow the prompt (clicked 'upgrade'); took me to a webpage, where the only relevant option is 'download it Today'; clicked it and was brought to a page with two links on it: 'View BB app world availiability' which brings me to a list of countries, with no links, and a 'change language' link, witch leads to a page with an "English" link, which takes me back to the previous page.
So I go to the blackberry download page for the app (3.1.2) and have a download link emailed to my bb configured email address. As before, I clicked it and was brought to a page with two links on it: 'View BB app world availiability' which brings me to a list of countries, with no links, and a 'change language' link, witch leads to a page with an "English" link, which takes me back to the previous page.
So I navigate to the page with bb browser, and click the download link and, again,
was brought to a page with two links on it: 'View BB app world availiability' which brings me to a list of countries, with no links, and a 'change language' link, witch leads to a page with an "English" link, which takes me back to the previous page.
I can find no way to actually download this app, which is the method for downloading all other apps. This is a disturbing.
PLEASE HELP, or give me an idea where to turn with this question.
(Edit) I just did a removal/installation from the desktop client--still get the 'need to update' prompt, which leads me through the links to nowhere, as above. I also removed app world  and tried a new install in the 2 latter ways mentioned above and got the same behavior. Is something up with the download page?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Please try this link, from your BB Browser:
    http://blackberry.com/appworld/download
Wait patiently for it to complete; when it does there should be this, about midway down the page:
That "Download Now" button should get you through to the actual download. You must be patient with these pages...sometimes they are slow to load all things you need, and slow to accept selecting of the buttons. The page that follows this (the one to select language) may well also load slow or you may need to reload...it took mine a couple of tries to get the right buttons to show--the language page should look like this:
And clicking the "Next" button should result in this:
Again, all may be quite slow to process, and if you press any keys before any of the pages finish, you won't get the proper result, and have to start over.
    Good luck!

  • Appworld doesn't work

Hi I have a problem with my Blackberry, it's the Blackberry curve 9220. I bought it the last week.. When i try to go in to app world the telephone say that I have to update appworld, i click on "update" and the phone tries to go in the blackberry site to update it but it doesn't work it automatically return to the first step where it says UPDATE, I have just call my provider and they activate me the Blackberry service but anyway it doesn't work.. Please help me

Hi and Welcome to the Community!!
    Please try this sequence:
    1) Remove AppWorld from your BB
KB10040 How to view or remove installed applications on a BlackBerry smartphone
If it requests that you reboot the BB, do so
    2) Do a Batt-Pull reboot (power on, remove battery, wait, insert battery, wait), even if redundant to the one you did in step 1.
    3) Install (on your BB) a fresh copy of AppWorld
    http://blackberry.com/appworld/download
Again, if it requests to reboot, do so.
    4) Do another Batt-Pull reboot
    5) See if it now works.

  • Appworld rejects payments error 10000

Appworld 2.0 is happy to let me download free apps but rejects any attempt to buy paid for ones.  I get error 10000 and a comment that there is a problem with my credit card authorisation.  This happens with Paypal or with a credit card.  There is nothing wrong with either account.  In fact Appworld has done a test charge of £0.01 to verify my credit card.
I have done a factory reset, re-loaded Appworld, changed Paypal accounts etc etc but still the same fault persists.
Paypal says it is nothing to do with them.  O2 in the UK will not accept that it is an issue for them.  I have spent an hour on the phone and online with Blackberry support and they uploaded a log file from my Blackberry.  I don't know what they will do with this.  They seem to be aware that there is an issue but ......

  • Issue with recieving long SMS and Caller Name display

    Hi,
Im new to the blackberry and  have looked around other forums & technical centre and havn't found any way to solve my issues although  i did find something about caller id problems.
    1) When people send me long SMS i.e over 160 characters long i keep recieving them in separate SMS and it becomes very confusing... i have owned over 7 different phones in the past and this has never been a problem. Is there any way to solve this?
    2) Quite often when someone calls me, i only seem to be able to see the callers number and not the Name, this is frustating as i have no idea who is ringing.
    Hope you can assist me.
    Thanks.

It helps to give ALL the details of yoru device, such as your OS release on the device and your carrier as well.
    1.  Verizon blocks combined SMS over 160 characters on their BlackBerrys. You should fuss at them. Other carriers don't do this. An alternative for you is the application called "Beyond160", find it in AppWorld.
    2. There could be any one of three solutions... Try these:
    a. Make sure you set your own country code at Phone Dialer Screen > Options > Smart dialing.
Set your country code in this format: "+xx" where xx = your country code. Some countries have two or three digit Country Codes. Do not place the '+' in your contact's entry.
    * In the US, set this Country Code as "+1", and place your loca area code in the proper box (this normally the default setting in a new BB).
    b. At the same location, change the National Number Length to the number of digits for your country (since some countries will have less than 10 as set as the default in the BB). Find out the total digits, minus the country code. Do not place the '+' in your contact's entry.
    * For example, some countries have a total number to 8 (plus 3 for country code). You would enter "8".
    c. You may have "Content Protection" set on your Address Book.
Look at Options > Security > General Settings. Scroll down to Content Protection > Include Address Book = NO.
    1. If any post helps you please click the below the post(s) that helped you.
