please help me... thank you...Hello wtfitstophe and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Are you using your computer to upgrade these applications or are you using the Application on your BlackBerry?
If you are using your computer, are you using Internet Explorer? Did you install the plug in required? Have you tried restarting your BlackBerry by doing a battery pull?
If you are using the App World icon on your device, are you using Wi-Fi or the mobile network?

Welcome to the Community
If you're using a Chrome or Firefox, I suggest you use Internet explorer for the meantime, once the plugin has been intalled on the browser, since Chrome and Internet explorer almost share the same settings, it should work well with Chrome after it.
Please leave a post if you have any further questions.

Hi,
Having trouble using the app world web plugin to download app from the app world from my mac to my phone.
I installed the plugin and the phone showed up on the sync page and I managed to add an app to the phone, since then when I try to sync I get the error:
App World Web Plugin Error
An error has occurred communicating with the BlackBerry App World Client. If you have content protection enabled on your device, please disable and try again.
I tried this on Mac #2 and the same thing happened, worked fine first time then the same error.
I checked that content protection wasn't on (running os 5) in security settings - encryption - disabled
Tried it on Mac #3 get the error message straight away.
Any ideas?Hi BenBisset,
Please see the following KB article regarding the issue you are having with the BlackBerry App World™ storefront. "AppWorld Web Plug-in Error appears when attempting to install applications from a computer" http://bbry.lv/KoUpez
Thanks.

Need urgent help with this please. A friend of mine also has a bb curve 8520 and recently she keeps getting the "App error 523".
I've tried googling the problem and everywhere says to reset the o/s. While this is straightforward in theory, When I've tried to connect the device to the bb desktop, the phone loads up for about 5 seconds, and then the app screen appears.
It even does this when I boot up the bb in safe mode. I'm getting frustrated now as I cant do anything with the bb desktop (as in re-install the o/s) when the app error message screen comes up.
Any ideas please? If your BlackBerry stays powered off with a black screen, follow the instructions below. The only indication of life might be the blinking red LED light in the top corner. Nothing seems to wake it up and Desktop Manager doesn't recognize any device is connected.
1) Make sure you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/
2) On your PC, go to Start > Run and copy and paste the following line exactly (meaning with the quotation marks):
"c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader\loader.exe" /nojvm
3) The Application Loader Wizard will appear -- click "Next."
4) In the "Connection:" drop-down menu, you should see "USB-PIN: UNKNOWN". Click the "Next" button.
5) You should then see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Hit Next and Finish and you are well on your way to getting your Blackberry back to life. Just don't disconnect anything and let the lengthy process finish completely.
NOTE: If you do not see a list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead see the message "The Blackberry Desktop Software does not have Blackberry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator," then you must download Blackberry's Operating System for your carrier and device.
http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/BlackBerry_Operating_System_Downloads
Just select the appropriate carrier and network type, select your Blackberry model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the above steps again and you should be on the right path.

Unlock my blackberry Curve 8520: Enter service provider mep code (0) left
Good afternoon,
A few days ago I bought a BB Curve 8520 from a friend but the phone says:
"enter service provider mep code (0) left"
Is it possible to fix this problem?
Regards,
JulianSomeone tried too many bad attempts to enter an unlock code in the device.
After the ten attempts have been used, you must get RIM to unlock the device.
There are two routes, and only two, to achieve this.
* IF your device is in warranty, contact your service provider technical support. Tell them you have this issue which needs to be escalated to RIM level customer support. I'll warn you that most carrier technical support people will first assume and think you are referring to a device security unlock, and you will need to convince them otherwise and explain clearly what you need. THEY will not be able to help you because the carriers themselves cannot unlock a device which has had the MEP code attempts depleted, and should (and you will need to ask) to have the case escalated to RIM level tech support.
* If your device is out of warranty, contact RIM direct. See the Contact Us information from the website: http://ca.blackberry.com/contact/ The options you want to select to speak to BlackBerry Customer Care are 3 (for inquiries, orders, billing, e-RMA etc) then 5 (e-RMA and Out of Warranty).
Make sense? Good luck.
