Appworld won't let me "upgrade" a program I've already paid for.

I paid for a program: "good video browser" a few weeks ago.  Yesteday I received an email saying there was an upgraded version available.  I went to appworld to upgrade and after downloading the "upgrade", I now have the "trial version". When I try to get the full version back, appworld tells me i've already paid for the application and I need to "refresh" the purchase list.  I've done that along with uninstalling, reinstalling both the program and appworld but I still have the "trial version" of the app.  I've contacted the app developer and he has said he has contacted the people at "appworld" but nothing has been done.
Please, how do I get the upgrade I've paid for?
Adam

Hey abottril,
Have you contacted your service provider?

It won't let me upgrade to newest version of Firefox...it's telling me I don't have sufficient privileges for some of the items. Why?

If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop
    * Firefox 6.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
    * Install the new version that you have downloaded
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data.

I have an iPod that is about three years old.  I am trying to download an appf rom the app store and it says trhat I need a version 4.3 or higher.  My iPOd has version 4.2.1 right now and iTunes tells me that my iPod is up to date.  It won't let me upgrade any higher.  Is there a limit or can I get a newer version another way?

Yes, there's a limit, and that iPod touch has reached it.

  • HT201364 I have a MacBook Pro 17" that meets all criteria on this list but it still won't let me upgrade... Help.

I have a MacBook Pro 17" that meets all criteria on this list but it still won't let me upgrade... Help.
To install Mavericks, you need one of these Macs:
MacBook Pro (15-inch or 17-inch, Mid/Late 2007 or later)  **** Maybe my MacBook Pro is early 2007 ? How do I find that out? ****
    Your Mac also needs:
OS X Mountain Lion, Lion, or Snow Leopard v10.6.8 already installed ***YES
2 GB or more of memory ***YES
8 GB or more of available space ***YES
    Last Modified: Nov 6, 2013

Then your model cannot upgrade to Mountain Lion or Mavericks. That is why you could not download it. You can upgrade to Lion, however.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

  • IPhoto won't let me upgrade to 9.2.3 from 9.2.1

When I launch iPhoto, it says in the about box that it is 9.2.1.  Occasionally, it reminds me there is an update for 9.2.3.  I click OK to run software update, but software update tells me there are no updates available.
I then go to Apple's download page to download the 9.2.3 upgrade DMG.  After downloading and trying to install, it says that I need iPhoto 9.1 or later for the upgrade to work.
Clearly, there is some problem where the Mac thinks I have an old version of iPhoto and won't let me upgrade, but iPhoto itself knows what version it is.
Searching on these forums, I haven't found anything like this.  Ideas?

How old is your Mac? If it's very recent you need to update via the App Store
If you purchased at the App Store you need to update via the App Store
Otherwise you update via Softare Update
If you have moved iPhoto from the default location (i.e. into a Folder) then the updater won't find it. Move it back.
If you have renamed iPhoto, the updater won't find it. Change it back.

  • HT201364 My computer meets the requirements to upgrade to Yosemite, but it won't let me upgrade.  Can anyone help?

I have a mid 2007 Macbook pro, plenty of memory, and OS X Lion 10.7 but the app store won't let me upgrade to Yosemite.  Can anyone help?

Check that your computer is compatible with Mountain Lion/Mavericks/Yosemite.
To check the model number hold down the option/alt key, go to the Apple menu and select System Information.
iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) model number 7,1 or higher

  • I want to give an iPad to my wife to use for work, but her employer won't let her upgrade her Macbook from Leopard to Lion.  It's pointless if she can't use iCloud.  Is there a workaround?

I want to give an iPad to my wife to use for work, but her employer won't let her upgrade her Macbook from Leopard to Lion.  It's pointless if she can't use iCloud.  Is there a workaround?

So far Apple has not upgraded the other Mac OS X versions to iCloud.  She can manually enter information to be synced in the cloud but that is really tedious.

  • IPhoto won't let me upgrade to 9.6

When I try to upgrade to iPhoto 9.6 the upgrade says "Not Responding".  It won't let me upgrade, so now I can't even get to my photos.  Please help!

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

My computer won't let me install a program.  Says not enough space available when in fact it has 70 GB available.  It selects Macintosh HD as the destination.  It will not let me navigate to the Applications folder.

    - Exactly what are you doing? You saying you are trying to syn it to new comnputer. When yuo sync it to a new computer iTunes will erase the iPod and replace its contents with what is i the iTunes library of the new computer.

since the upgrade to ios7.1.1 I have lost my ringtones. Is there a way of getting them back from my itunes accout since I've already paid for it?

Yes, go to your 'iTunes Store' app on your iPhone or whatever device you lost them on, then go to the 'more' tab, and choose 'purchased', then find your ringtones that you wanted and redownload them, you won't need to repay for them.
    Hope this helps :)
    Happy hunting :)

  • I've upgraded my app via iPhone and already paid for it but noting have changed. Who am I suppose to contact with. and how

I've upgraded my app via iPhone and already paid for it but noting have changed. Who am I suppose to contact with and how?

Contact the developer of the App.
Just because an app is updated does not mean it should visually change, the update could simply be bug fixes.
