ApShell database rebuilt after each service pack installed ??

Hello,
Could someone please lets me know if the apshell database sample is rebuilt during an upgrade with a service pack or not ?
If so, is it rebuilt because the apshell changes with the service packs ?
Thank you in advance.
Lionel.

Hello,
Thank you very much for this answer, that confirms what I thought.
I fact, I have a problem with the installation of Service Pack in BPC 7.0 for MS.
During each upgrade, I encounter an error :
Update Sample Database: Error
and
Update Sample OLAP Database: Error
Than I manage to create manually the apshell using the ApShell.db9.
What can be the root cause of this issue ?
I have 2 servers : 1 BPC server and 1 SQL server. I used the SysAdmin user for the upgrade. This account is a domain user having administration rights on the SQL Server.
Thank you very much in advance for your help.
Lionel.

  • Are admin and office clients always updated for each service pack.

    Hi,
I am investigating upgrading our BPC version from 7.0 SP3.   The question I have been asked by my business clients is "do the admin and office clients of BPC always get updated with each service pack?"  I assume they do because the install guide indicates that you must update them to the same version as the server.  Upgrading the client versions is always a concern here because since we don't allow the automatic update our plans have to include packaging an SMS deployment to over 500 workstations of several different configurations and locations.

    Hi,
Yes, there are changes in the clients in every service pack. This is why it's important that the version of the client matches the version on the server. We've seen issues where there was a mismatch and no one could log in because of the changes in the client.
I would advise always updating the clients when adding a new service pack.

To be honest, I have no idea. Other than the obvious; unless you need SP 4, don't use it...
CR XI r1 is out of support, so if that was a bug, it will not get fixed.
Also, since you have CR XI r1, you are entitled to upgrade to CR XI r2 for free. If that is an option, let me know and I'll supply the link to CR XI r2, the latest SP for CR XI r2 and the msm runtime files.

  • Outlook web login screen not displaying correctly on Exchange 2007 service pack install

    Hello everyone,
I believe our exchange server installed a service pack 3 update and after rebooting the server, we noticed that the Outlook web access login screen is not displaying correctly.  The page looks white with some black X's (I think that's where the
pictures/background images used to be).  We tried to restart the ISS service with no luck.  I would appreciate any help you guys can provide.

    Hi,
I have seen this issue in another similar thread, that issue was solved by re-creating the OWA virtual directory.
Please try the following steps to solve this issue.
Open EMC, navigate to Server Configuration -> Client Access, under Outlook Web App tab, double-click owa (default web site) properties.
Then check InternalURL, ExternalURL, Forms-Based Authentication settings ect
Open EMS, use Get-OwaVirtualDirectory get the list of virtual directories and identify the directory which is giving the problem.
    Remove it with this command
    Remove-OwaVirtualDirectory “owa (Default Web Site)”
Now create it again with the following command
New-OwaVirtualDirectory -OwaVersion “Exchange2007″ -Name “owa (Default Web Site)”
Then configure the “owa” virtual directory settings like InternalURL, ExternalURL, Forms-Based Authentications etc… & check the OWA by logging with some test users.
    Best Regards.

  • SQL Server Service Pack Install and SSRS Scale Out Environment

We have an error in our SSRS environment that looks to be addressed in SQL Server 2008 R2 SP3. Our set up is a scale out environment, 2 SSRS app servers and 1 SSRS database server. For simplicity as we are moving to 2012 soon, I would like to only install
the service pack on one of the SSRS app servers. Anyone aware of any reason besides keeping servers consistent to not do this? I don't want to go through the time to upgrade the SSRS SQL Server if I don't have to.
    Thanks

    Hello,
If you apply the service pack on the database server first, front-ends may not be able to provide service again until you
apply the SP to them too. I have no knowledge of other possible issue.
Remember to backup SSRS databases and encryption key before applying the service pack.
    Hope this helps.

  • Product release Didn't Change After Applying Service Packs

I have applied Service Pack 2,3,4 Crystal XI. My product Version 11.0.0.1883 stayed the same even after applying t service packs. Would anyone have any ideas why it still shows the old release, nd thanks for helping with my issue.
    Jim Dyer

    Hi Jim,
Make sure you are the local PC admin and that DEP is disabled. I've seen this happen also and there were no warnings or errors, it just didn't update.
Try re-installing the patches from a local drive and be sure to turn DEP off. Search Forums for more info on how to.
Also, what OS are you installing on?
    Thank you

  • Crystal XI Service Pack - Install Recomendation

We are upgrading from Crystal 10 to Crystal XI (Release 1).  Do we need to install all four service packs, or can we just install SP4?

Here's a link that lists the crystal version number with the associated service pack.
    http://blog.crystalreportsbook.com/2008/04
I beleive the original version is the same as Release 1.
I use SP4 for release 1 on Crystal version 11.0.0.895 and it cleared up several problems.

  • E-commerce service pack install

I am struggling to find documentation on how to install a service pack on a customized ISA e-commerce scenario.
The application has an NWDI track and I have the following SCAs ready for install.
    SAPSHRAPP11P_11-20001151.SCA
    SAPSHRJAV11P_11-10002938.SCA
    SAPSHRWEB11P_11-10002937.SCA

Seriously though, someone must know the answer to this.
    You spend a year customizing an application, make thousands of changes.... a service pack is implemented and pulled in to NWDI... when you have a look at the active version of, for instance, order.jsp from NWDS you see, of course, a whole new order.jsp with none of your modifications... right now you don't want to;
1: Synchronise in case you lose a years worth of work
2: Check-in incase you overwrite the service pack
How are service packs handled in this environment? Do SAP recommend sticking with the version you bought and never updating or is there a simple way around this?
    Thanks again,
    Patrick.

  • Portal problem in navigation after upgrade Service Pack 25 (SP25)

    Hi experts,
We have upgraded our NetWeaver 2004 (6.40) environment with Portal 6.0 to the latest Service Pack 25 (SP25).
After the whole upgrade a strange problem occurs in the Portal when using the portal navigation. After a few clicks in the navigation a JavaScript error in the browser occurs. We use Internet Explorer 7 and 8.
When the error occurs, we have to refresh the browser to use the portal again. I have the idea that the problem is relating to the session management but i can't figure it out.
    Any ideas?

    Dear Benjamin,
Thank you for your answer. I think it helped us with the scope of the problem.
We use a FQDN for the Portal and also a FQDN for the backend (R/3). There is nothing changed in those hostnames between the upgrade from SP19 to SP25. The browser problem occurs after a few clicks (10 - 30) in the left-side navigation and is not based on time or specific iView. So its difficult to find a routine structure in the presents of the error.
I have also used the tool to analyse the JavaScript code. It gives a error on a not defined object value within the file js13_epcf.js?6.0810.
It seems that the part of the code had to do something with the iFrame usage of the Portal. But it's to difficult to find the real cause of the issue.
    Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

  • Delete service pack install directory

Hi, I want to clean up my pc.
Can I delete SP1 install dir:
    C:\e4a19a58e88bb52bfb6dbd7aff
    it contains a file named:
    spinstall.exe
    Thanks!

The best and safest way to do this is to use the Disk Space Cleanup Manager, cleanmgr.exe.  You can access it by opening the Windows Explorer, right click on your system drive, usually the C: drive, and select Properties, then click on Disk Cleanup.
When Disk Cleanup is done the Disk Cleanup for Win 7 will pop up and list everything that can be cleaned off the HDD. Scroll down and select to cleanup the Service Pack files.

  • ITunes stopped working after Windows Service Pack 2

Maybe it's a coincidence, but I've been having all sorts of problems loading the latest iTunes version (64-bit) ever since I downloaded (not by choice) WIndows Service Pack 2.
    iTunes just won't open.
First it would open and say that the color scheme had been changed by some setting somewhere.
Then it wouldn't open at all.
I've fooled around with permissions and compatibility settings -- I've reinstalled the latest iTunes for WIndows 64-bit -- and iTunes just will not load.
I've seen some evidence online that I'm not alone in this problem, though it's hard to tell.  The solutions I've seen seem to be a bit complicated -- does anyone have any information on this problem or am I going to have to go back to an Apple computer if I want to continue using iTunes???
    Thanks for any help.
    B
PS For now I've got to leave on a 4 -hour trip for which I'll have no music thanks to this problem -- so any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Roll back the service pack.(uninstall software through control panel.)  Does it work again?
Reinstall service pack.  Make sure antivirus and all other software is not running in background.  Reboot.

  • Exchange 2010 recovery after a failed service pack install

    Hi all,
I have a question on Exchange 2010 SP3 installation and hope someone can help.
If the installation for some reason failed, Microsoft's article said one can use "setup /m:recoverserver" to recover Exchange. My question is if Exchange 2010 is to be recovered on the SAME server, do I still need to reset the computer account
    in AD first?
    Thanks in advance.

If you do not recover the OS on the system, you needn't reset the computer account.  I'll caution you, though, that if you intend to re-install Exchange onto the same server without reloading the OS, you are running the risk of having the same problem
happen again.  For safety's sake, recover the OS and reset the computer account.
When we upgraded one of our servers to SP2, we had a failure in the install, and Exchange was effectively wiped from the system.  We had to do just what you are asking about - and we reloaded the servers, from the ground up.  It's been working
fine since then, including when we just upgraded from SP2 to SP3 (UR5, in case anyone wants to know).
