Aptv keeps restarting itself for no apparent reason

For the last week or two my aptv has been restarting itself, usually when I put a program on pause
and come back a few min. later I find I'm back at the icon screen.
My software is up to date and my connection is very good so I'm really puzzled as to why it would
restart on it's own, and it seems to be happening more often.
As well Hulu seems a little strange, it keeps asking to quite out and restart after an "update" and
it will do this a few times a day, very strange.
Anyone else having these same problems?

I'm experiencing the exact same problems, and I don't think it's a network connectivity issue as I am connected via Ethernet not WiFi. I have also confirmed that none of my other devices are experiencing network drops (iPhone, laptop, desktop) at the same time my AppleTV is rebooting itself. I can replicate the restart problem like clockwork by going into HBO GO and scrolling down through the "Just Added" movies (screen goes blank, light on box blinks 4 times, ticking "thinking" wheel shows on screen, and then the home AppleTV screen displays); and I can almost always get the "Hulu Plus has updated, please exit and restart" message anytime I try to watch multiple shows of the same series back to back. I've updated my software, unplugged the AppleTV for a few minutes and retried it, reset to factory settings, and then done a complete restore (which took 40 min because it apparently found an update that the update screen didn't see) all to no avail. Nothing I have tried is fixing the problem. I'm wondering if there may be a bug with the latest software update?

For about 2 weeks now the itunes login window asking for my itunes password keeps popping up for no apparent reason at annoyingly frequent intervals on my touch 3.1.2. Please go to Control Panel -> Programs and Features to repair the Installation of Office, check if the issue persists.
If the issue still exists, I suggest you perform a clean boot to determine whether background programs are interfering with Communicator:

Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks
     Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
     COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and
     after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears.
     Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
     Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
     Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.

Satellite L755D - sound keeps cutting out for no apparent reason

I posted this in another thread, but thought I might need to start one of my own since a solution had been found by that person and I am still having a problem. So, about three weeks ago the sound on my computer began just cutting out for no apparent reason. It happened while I was watching streaming video and I tried updating all my software stuff (like flash and java and things of that nature). It still continued to happen and now it was happening with streaming video, with youtube type videos, and with mp3s stored on this computer. I discovered that if I went to the control panel and clicked on sound/hardware and then clicked on the tab for recording, the sound immediately came back. So, I've been doing this for the past couple of weeks and it is extremely annoying! In another thread on ths forum, the individual discovered that the Malwarebytes program had been the culprit and I was happy to have an answer, except that I had installed security software last week which removed MB from my computer. And I continue to have the issue even today. I clicked on the link in the other thread to update my drivers and I continue to have the issue. Can anyone help? It's making me crazy! OK - I'm getting this as well. Satellite L750-1E5. It was fine for ages and this started happening about a month ago now. - tried updating the drivers - System restored back to when it worked, not working This led me to think it was a hardware problem. My gut feeling however was that it was some sort of driver problem as sound would cutout after about 2 minutes, but would often come back if I started playing another song or something. Reinstalled Windows 7(64 bit) and played through an entire song with no issues(using Windows 7 sound drivers). Ran Windows update and the issue has come back. Installed the proper Conexant driver, but issue still occurring. I believe a Windows update has caused this issue.

After upgrading to Mavericks, the free space on my SSD keeps going down for no apparent reason

I downloaded Mavericks and installed it on my macbookpro ( with Crucial M4 SSD) and the free space on my ssd keeps going down for no reason. I reinstalled it from a bootable flashdrive, and the free space went from 20G to 60. Since then it keeps going down and I am now on 48G. I cannot find the source of the drain. Anyone else with the same problem?

Keep Losing Connection For No Apparent Reason

Have had BT Infinity for about 18 months or so now. Every now again, I get spells of it (the hub and the router) crashing out for seemingly no reason. Reconnects, only to disconnect again. Was so bad yesterday, it made PC unusable. Unplugged everything overnight last night, as lost my rag with it, plug it all back in again this morning. Worked fine until this afternoon, where it started doing the same again, all be it not quite as often as yesterday. I had the router changed out by Kelly Comms in Dec, but never had a problem with the old one, so was reluctant to change it, now I can see why!!
Any ideas, before I launch it up the garden?

To my untrained and tired eyes, looks to me as if the HH2 is failing.
A HH3 from BT, if you report this, could well resolve this.

[Solved] External HD unmounts by itself for no apparent reason

I've already posted about my problems with external hard-drive (My Passport).
But now the problem became even stranger...
I've made a work around for the first problem, but now (as of started today) I've got a new bigger problem.
I've was copying a large folder (cca 20GB) to it and it "unmounted" during the process. It just became unavailable and trying to get its uuid by blkid showed nothing...
Now I'm guessing it's something with a disk.
BTW it happend just now as I was writing this post and trying to "re-mount" it I've got this error:
ntfs-3g-mount: failed to access mountpoint /mnt/zundisk: Input/output error
And first time I've mounted it I've got the error about it was wrongly unmounted the last time.
PS:
I've lend it to a friend for whom I suspect that has unmounted it wrongly under XP...

i had that going on with my usb player, and it turned out to be bad usb cable.
try keeping a terminal open with 'sudo tail -f /var/log/everything.log' running. when the drive disconnects, check the error messages around it. if you have a plethora of input/output errors, then there's probably a physical problem. in particular look for a usb disconnect and what was going on around it.
It doesn't it disconects only on Linux. I think that it was due to bad unmounting under Windows. I've reformatted it and now everything works!
I can even normally mount it without any of the hassle in fstab etc...

IMac screen keeps waking up for no apparent reason

Here's a fun one. So we all know you can put your Mac screen to sleep by pressing controlshifteject on a Mac keyboard. This is what I usually do with my iMac as I tend to have it doing something at night (be it downloading, processing large files, ect.) but lately the screen only seems to want to sleep for about 10 minutes or so before it will turn right back on.
My old MacBook Pro used to do this but you could actually dim the screen right down to zero anyway so it wasn't that big of an issue. You can't do that with an iMac.
I've heard mention that it might be bluetooth related and I am using an Apple bluetooth keyboard and Magic Mouse but it seems to be doing it much more often of late. I thought it might be a battery issue but even with fresh batteries the issue continues.
Anyone know what's going on?

Next time you want to put your iMac screen to sleep, try switching off the Magic Mouse, wait for the notification to come up on the screen telling you the Magic Mouse has been disconnected, wait for it to disappear then press the keyboard shortcut to put the screen to sleep. See if that helps and we'll go from there. If that doesn't help, can you just say wether the screen always turns back on the same time every time?

So I've been trying to sign in to buy a new song for my ipod when I got a verification message to verify my account on iTunes. I've done this before so I know what to do. I noticed in the small message box that it says this is the first time I've ever bougth something on this device. I thought it was odd because I've bought a few things before and I've never had this specific message come up. I have no idea why it is. When I click on the verify account it takes me to the verification question page bla bla... I put in my answers and.... They're wrong? I know the answers I haven't forgotten them but it says I have them wrong! (Now this is getting a little of topic so I'll just back up) Why is this message appearing? How can I fix this question issue? My account has been locked because of this! I've tried to look at support but I haven't sent any emails because I want to figure out why this is coming up first.

Mid 2011 21.5" iMac restarts for no apparent reason

just started a month ago and my machine is only 4 1/2 months old. It restarts for no apparent reason no matter what app I'm in. The apple techs can't find a reason for it and just say 'clean install'. Well, it's had 4 clean installs in two weeks with no help in sight. I know others have this problem and I wish I knew who at Apple I could contact to see about a replacement instead of being jerked around by the apple store.

After it restarts, does it present a dialog box like this:
Next time they recommend "clean install" please have them show you an Apple Knowledge Base document that defines it, because without knowing what it is makes it difficult to know what they did.
