Aqualogic Interaction support for Z/Os

Hi,
I am new to this portal community and i'm doing some research on Aqualogic Interaction. Can anyone tell me if it supports Z/Os. I could not find any information on this. It does run on WAS which supports Z/Os, so can there be any integration ? Any ideas or support is appreciated.

Hi,
Normally listener version is same as DB, but that have several exceptions.
Logon to DB server, with OS user who is owner of DB.
I expect that all required environment variables are already set, execute below statement.
lsnrctl status
if this throws error
lsnrctl status <listener_name>
this will give you status of listener, on the first line of output of the command, you will get version of Listener.
FYI...any DB can have listener with same or higher version than DB and you need to install full Oracle binary to get the listner of that version.

I followed same document....Installed webserver...downloaded AM WAR........Deployed WAR....Then accessed amserver..It took me to configurator.jsp...where it ask for params and also we have to provide path to write AMconfig.properties....I installed webservre in C:/....and then deployed WAR...and provided D:/ ....in configurator.jsp...to write AMConfig.properties...Now in AM_CONFIGURATIIN_DIR I am providing same path that I provided in configurator.jsp(D:/) ....and It is saying no AM found........Can you provide me link of SAML setup that you used....because in my saml2setup.bat..I can see that it is looking for registries entries and reading AM_ROOT from registries later on in the java file reads the sam2silent file....I even tried to manipulate SAML2setup.bat and commented out registry checking and provided static value for AM_ROOT...In this case the installation moved forward..read the saml2silent file but showed me license page..but gain stuck while configuring it....

Multi language support for Adobe interactive form

I translated the adobe form in multi language in SE63, If i execute the form with passing LANGU(language) parameter, form supports for multi language.
I created XML schema based interface and if a execute interactive form in Webdynpro, i am unable to pass launguage(LANGU) parameter. because InteractiveForm element property does not have language key parameter.
Apart from creating different language dependent forms, is there any alternate way we can pass the LANGU key parameter to Interactive Adobe form???

Let me share my few more investigation on the same, I chaged form each element property to login language.
and translated form to other languages. If directly execute form in sfp with loging in different language i am getting right result. it means even no need to pass the LANGU parameter.
But same thing if i execute from Webdynpro i am getting default 'EN' language form, even though i login in 'DE' language.

As far as i know when you use Adobe forms in a WD4A application, language is your "web" connection language.
You can have a look at standard class CL_WD_ADOBE_SERVICE, it's used when generating an adobe forms from WD4A. , more particulary look at method DETERMINE_DOCPARAMS.

Does the eBooks created by iBooks Author support for iphone now?

I have been read some blogs discussing that the iPhone could gain new support for ebooks made by iBooks Author. And now, I wanna know whether the prediction is true or not. I can' t find any annoucement from Apple to confirm this point. Does anyone answer my confusion.

With the current software ..books created using iBooks Author cannot be viewed on iPhones.
iBooks Author creates books that can only...be used with iPads and on Macs with Mavericks installed, by using iBooks.
Thats it...no rumours. Blogs or to be more accurate...some of those who contribute to them seem to either be totally stupid, or like to make themselves look as if they have inside knowledge.
Apple created iBooks Author to allow self publishers create and publish books to the store. But not just novels or text only type books. iBA made these books allow audio / video ..and much much more than any novel. That being so....most interactive multi media books will not really display well on a screen the size if the iPhone.
Apple are more concerned in getting iPads in use more by business and education at all levels.
The only rumour that may well become fact is a larger sized screen for a bigger iPad mid to late 2014.

There are several drawbacks with the standard functionality that you will encounter:
- SAPconnect only supports HTTP url posting or RFC destination setup (which means you need a third party server program)
- The mail forms do not impose a limitation on the length of messages
- Target groups do not check if the person has a mobile number.
If you look at SMS gateway providers they normally allow use via web service or SMPP. If you plan on doing "bulk" campaigns where you will generate multi-thousand messages a month then you need to use one of these options. SMPP is a binary protocol that is way too complicated for a business application to implement. So web services is your best bet.
If we used mostly standard CRM functionaliy we would do the following for SMS:
- Use the segment builder to handle our target groups
- Use the personalized mail functionality
- Use the open channel exits for segment execution to handle the communication to SMS gateway.
Now keep in mind that for SMS campaigns this is going to be cubersome, and not going to provide all the mobile marketing functionality you need. It still appears that even for CRM 52/2007 that mobile marketing is not really fully addressed in the solution with several major gaps.
We ended up going down a custom route, because the segment builder was not-user friendly and unstable in CRM 40 and the mail form technology did not meet our needs for sending messages and creating template based scenarios. We still make use of the CRM business partner master for the distribution.
If you have any further questions on doing SMS campaigns with CRM, please let me know. This is one area where I have spent some extensive research. If you are looking for SMS gateway providers in the US, I can also provide some names based on our previous research.

Are any alternate input devices supported for turning pages?

I am working on iBooks versions of my print music books and am disappointed to see a lack of support for external devices to change pages. It seems with all the sheet music apps out there that support foot pedals that iBooks would add support for this - if not for music, at least for people with disabilities. I would not really look forward to building my books as one-off applications just to support this kind of feature as I really like iBooks Author and the resulting ebooks are great.
Is anyone aware of a way to get iBooks to accept input other than touching the screen for turning pages? Does anyone know if Apple is looking into enabling this kind of feature in iBooks?

It's an interesting question, but Apple's platform is predicated on touch....and now voice, with SIRI.
If you wanted it enough, you'd go for an app (I think what you want would be near trivial there - you're just talking about a teleprompter, after all), so it seems more like you simply have a yearn, in which case you may need to be (very) patient if you insist on relying on iBA, as it just came out of the box, so to speak.
I think we can look forward to eye-motion detection as one example....but for now, the page turn interaction as it exists, seems to be more indicative of a 'book' and Apple seems happy to stick to that path - for now.
Keep in mind that WWDC 2012 is coming up - as developers, we're all waiting to see what Apple let's us work with next.
Apple doesn't discuss future plans, but as always, feel free to use the 'Provide iBooks Author Feedback' menu item for features you'd like added in the future, etc.

Weblogic server 9.2 support for WS-Transaction

Does Weblogic Server9.2 support WS-Transaction 1.1 ? The WL Server data sheet is not specific about the details of compliance. I am trying to find out if there is support for WS-Coordination, WS-Atomic Transaction and WS-Business Activity in Weblogic Server.
We need to use the Aqualogic Service Bus 2.6 is a distributed WebService Transaction.

As I know, the answer is "no".

Adobe Interactive forms for material creation

Hi,
We are considering Adobe interactive forms application to create and change materials in our R/3 system (4.7, WAS 6.20). I understand that there are already standard forms available from Adobe for this. I would like to know whether anyone has used these forms and the RFC BAPIs provided by Adobe and if so, please share your experience on the implementation and ease of use of the forms. Also I would like to know that out of Web dynpro, BSP or JAVA, which one would be the best option. Can we leverage KMs approval process, notification, and subscription for this application?

Hi Viji,
I believe there must be a misunderstanding here. While Adobe delivers sample forms both in Adobe LiveCycle Designer (only the form) and for their own server products (the LiveCycle series), this has nothing to do with Interactive Forms in SAP software. Adobe contributes 2 key technology components to the joint solution, but the business logic continues to be shipped by SAP only. This means that Adobe neither ships standard forms for an SAP system nor BAPIs.
In mySAP ERP 2004, a couple of pilot processes built with Guided Procedures were shipped to selected customers. These processes dealt with the creation and changing of master data. These processes are not generally available.
Interactive Forms is included in several environments, i.e. Web Dynpro for Java, Web Dynpro for ABAP, ABAP Workbench (for printing), Guided Procedures, Internet Service Request (ERP), and Business Intelligence. In NetWeaver '04, you can only use Web Dynpro for Java and ABAP Workbench.
There is NO OUT-OF-THE-BOX SUPPORT for BSPs.
If you wish to use KM functions, it'll be up to you to develop them for your process. You will need to persist the generated PDF form (it doesn't happen by default), and there is no standard delivery that includes KM functions.

Support for Intel Driver 10.18.10.3496

I'm trying to upgrade my driver to the latest Iris driver from Intel:

My computer is an X1 Carbon 3443. The new driver just came out last month. However, when I try to run the installer, it gives the error "The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from computer manufacturer".
So I checked the drivers available from Lenovo, but the latest version there is 9.17.10.2875, which is not new enough. I attempted to uninstall the Lenovo driver and install the Intel driver manually, but the installation failed with "This operation requires an interactive window station.".
How soon will the new driver be supported through Lenovo? Or is there a way to install it directly that I haven't tried? Thanks!

Add support for colorist control surfaces

A Lightroom feature I would like to see is support for colorist control surfaces such as those made by Tangent Devices, JL Cooper, Euphonix, etc. Working with still images in Lightroom is rather like color grading motion scenes (daVinci, Apple Color, etc.). A colorist interface with simultaneous image adjustments would really bring a whole new level of interactivity and efficiency to a photographer's photos.

I've been around midi music and controlers for a while, and I believe I posted a question for LR+midi a (possibly VERY) long time ago to one of the forums (I can't even remeber the answer).

This is a contoller+software, where the contolers "sees" in what window (read LR module) you are working, "talks" to LR to get information on which sliders are available and then auto-maps the available hardware sliders and buttons to the onscreen ones.
The advantage, you don't develop a hardware product which is dedicated to one software (even version) and it is very customisable.
But maybe let's first focus on getting LR3 our in good shape and get this on Adobe's list for 3.X somewhere.

Trying to buy single instance support for FMS from Adobe. Need help.

Hey all,
I've spent all day on the phone with Adobe trying to purchase single incident support for some server side developement questions on Flash Media Interactive Server 3.0.
So far I have not been able to find anyone at Adobe that knows how to do this. The web site says it is possible and they even give a number to call but I've talked to at least three people at that number and no one could help me. I've also talked to people in Sales, Volume license sales,and at least three different areas in technical support and no one seems to know how to get it done. Has anyone ever successfully purchased single incident support for FMS 3 and if so is there some specific number I could call to talk to someone who can make it happen.

I am answering my own question. After spending an entire afternoon on the phone being bounced around between Adobe technical support and Adobe sales, I've come to the determination that you cannot buy single incident support for Flash Media Server. At least I was never able to talk to someone at Adobe that knew if it was possible. The number on the web site where it specifically says to call for purchase of single incident support for FMS is not the correct number.

Aqualogic Interaction & IIS - FATAL: ResourceManager i18n Strings Load

Hi, I'm having access issues in initial startup of AquaLogic Interaction on IIS. The error seems to indicate that the IIS user does not have access to the folder which contains the i18n resources. I've verified that this user does have this access and still get this error. Any ideas what else could be the problem? Thanks!
Diagnostic system initialization OK.
Portal Startup begins: 15 total tasks.
Recommendations follow:
ResourceManager i18n Strings Loading Error (.NET)
RECOMMENDATION: This indicates an installation error, folder access
rights issue, corrupt i18n XML files, or incorrect customer
implementation of additional language support. Since this is
.NET you should first check that the IIS anonymous user has full
access to the i18n settings folder. To isolate other causes of
this issue, try enabling debug mode in portalconfig.xml (set the
DebuggingMode setting to 1) and restarting your portal. This
enables the i18n diagnostic unit tests, which should then output
more detailed errors to ptspy.
