Support is in fact currently pretty limited I think: W. European, E. European, Greek, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. Besides Arabic and Hebrew, a great many other scripts cannot yet be displayed, like Hindi, Thai, Vietnamese, Tamil, etc.

  • Arabic and Hebrew sections of a .pdf document

I need to rearrage a .pdf that contains Arabic and Hebrew pages. Acrobat will not allow the Arabic pages to be placed anywhere but at the end of the document. I am using Acrobat 7 on a PC with PC InDesign CS3 documents as the source.
    Any hints or suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Linda

Linda, did you create these files with InDesign? If so, you should edit them there and not in Acrobat. Besides that, there shouldn't be any problem moving pages, no matter which kind of text they have. What exactly happens when you try to drag the pages to a new location?

  • Arabic and Hebrew features InDesign CC (2014 release) not accessible

    Hello,
I need to create a lay-out with Arabic content in Indesign CC (2014 release). After checking how to go about that via the help-section (online and PDF) I have to conlude that the help does not help me any further.
It says I need to, from the paragraph panel options, set InDesign to the world-ready paragraph composer in order to have the text direction etc. features enabled. This, however, is not the case. The panel still looks like before and I get no Arabic / hebrew features.
This is the same for the character panel, wich also does not give the shown options for Character direction as shown in the Help screenshots.
I have followed all the suggestions in the help section.
I have also tried setting the default paragraph editor to World-Ready via the preferences, and then restart the program, but still no success.
    Please advise, it's urgent.

    Hi,
Every change of plugins is resetting preferences.
Each language has its own preferences. But you move or copy them manually but you might adjust them afterward, because everylanguage has not the same functionality. At least not on the same place.

    Hi William,
    It worked!
Allthough I did not understand that, from the CC panel, I should install the entire app again. Thought this would go through the preferences window, but I noticed that, when changing the App language in the preferences, the app-list in in the panel changes.
Only thing is now: all the preferences and personal workspaces are gone:-(
Adobe realy doesn't make it easy, unless you're into IT, wich i am totally and absolutely not;-)
    Antways,
    thanks for the usefull info;
    Have a great weekend

  • Dreamweaver Help | Arabic and Hebrew text

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/using/arabic-hebrew-text.html

I'm a U.S. user who needs to insert and maintain short Hebrew text snippets, RTL, in otherwise LTR English Latin web pages.    US DW CS5 is unable to cope.
This page discusses "Arabic and Hebrew"  but as of this moment (8/8/2012) all I can find on the Adobe store on the Middle East and North Africa store page are English, English-Arabic, or French-Arabic versions of DW CS6.   Does "Arabic" imply equal support of Hebrew?  (If so, this should be made explicit.)   If so,  is the English/Arabic/Hebrew DW CS6 fully bilingual?  That is, is it fully usable and maintainable by a user who speaks neither Arabic or Hebrew, only English?  Are the upgrade paths from US CS5 to  Arabic and Hebrew CS6 and so on distinct or intertwined?    Will Adobe U.S. support, in total, be able to help with the features described on this page?

  • Exporting query results into a csv file using arabic and hebrew chars

    Hi,
iv'e encountered a problem, using plsql to export a query into a csv file.. the arabic turns into question mark. Do you have any idea why?

Usually this indicates a mismatch between client and database character set.
How do you export this query?
    What is your database version?
    What is your client OS?

  • Support for Arabic or Hebrew

In the case of languages which are written from right to left (e.g., Arabic and Hebrew), does cFolders UI technology (BSP) support this if the corresponding translation is done?

    Hi Dezso,
Thanks for your comments. However, we have situation wherein the BSP technology used is pure html (and not using the library htmlb).
The BSP is based on self-written controls and I could see in an example that these include Tree, BreadCrumb, Group, Table (with selectable rows), Button, InputField, MenuBar (or something similar) and several more.
In such I assume there will arise problems with the layout for right-to-left written langauges like Hebrew.
Any solution proposals would be of great help.
    Regards,
    Srinivas.

  • HT2486 adding Arabic or Hebrew letters to address book

Can you mix Arabic or Hebrew letters with the Engish text in address book.
If you can, how do you do it - please ?

Do you not know how to type Arabic and Hebrew?  Or does Address book make a mess of what you try to type?
If the former, you just activate the appropriate keyboards in system preferences/language & text/input sources and then select them in the "flag" menu at the top right of the screen and type away.
If the latter, I doubt there is anything you can do other than try copy/pasting from an app like TextEdit.

  • •  How can I correctly recuperate/extract Arabic, Chinese and Hebrew text?

    Hello -
    Context:
As a packaging designer, my clients are often requesting that we add Arabic, Chinese and Hebrew texts on packaging.
More often than not, I receive 4 different types of text sources :
    —  1.
A .PDF containing a scan of the text needed (so nothing more than a picture).
    —  2.
A .PDF whereby I can select the text and copy it into MS Word® but the sentence is no longer the same as what I had copied from the .PDF file! (e.g. some of the characters are replaced by strange ones).
    —  3.
A .PDF file where the client has inserted an annotation which displays correctly in the Acrobat® but the moment that I do a copy/paste into MS Word®, the whole sentence is inversed (text appearing left to right instead of right to left -> For Arabic).
    —  4.
Sometimes I also receive Excel® files.
After copying the text into MS Word®, I save the file in .PDF format and I then re-open it in Adobe Illustrator®.
    Softwares:
              • Adobe® CS5 (Illustrator,...)
              • MS Office® 2011
              • Mac OS 10.6.8
    Question:
Is there an easier, faster and more reliable method to extract such "exotic" text?
e.g. a plug-in, another software, another method (instead of having to pass through MS Word®, ...)
Thank you for your precious help.
    Have anice day…
    - Dimitri

Not really. It's inherent in dealing with this stuff on non-native systems. Your issues 2. and 3. Should be fixable by manually setting the document language in Word, though. Same for 4. then, of course, assuming the PDFs and comments use a standard Unicode/ OpenType font that can provide al lthe glyphs and no otehr substitution is going on....

  • Sample Word 2013 documents in Arabic, Chinese, Hebrew, Japanese, & Korean?

    Hi;
Can someone (actually 5 someone's) please post a sample docx file where it has just a line of text in Arabic, Chinese, Hebrew, Japanese, or Korean and is created in Word 2013 where Windows & Word are both the local version for Arabic, Chinese, Hebrew,
    Japanese, & Korean.
Please don't set any formatting. Have it be the default font, style, etc. I want to get what Word uses as the default for all settings for each language. For Chinese, if possible, one from PRC and one from Taiwan.
    Thank you - dave

The Windward International Collegiate Programming Championships?

    Hi,
Due to the limitation of my resources here, currently I'm not able to do the same with other languages, I really apologize if I brought you any inconvenience.
As I mentioned in another post, the default fonts depend upon the version of Office, they change in different versions:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/f4615e44-8804-4ba4-bab7-1e76513e2d15/what-is-the-default-font-for-cjk-bidi?forum=word
The results I got about Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese were from Office 2013, Windows 8.1, both local versions.
Actually the default font can be set easily, I hope this can be a little helpful:

  • How to remove fonts from system: Adobe Devanagari, Adobe Gurmukhi, Adobe Fan Heiti Std, Myriad Arabic, Myriad Hebrew

It seems that you (Adobe) have added fonts (Adobe Devanagari, Adobe Gurmukhi, Adobe Fan Heiti Std, Myriad Arabic, Myriad Hebrew) to my system, that I can't easily remove and it is quite frustrating as they appear every time I am looking for fonts and yet I will never really need them. I have cleaned all my fonts on my system, keeping it ultra lean, and only activating the sets I need when I am working on projects and I would appreciate if you could tell me where they are and how I can remove them? Many Thanks James

Hey, I managed to remove them by deleting      "typesupport"      folder in                C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2014\Required
I'm not sure if there will be unexprected problems, but you can move the folder somewhere else.

So far the iPod has never supported a number of scripts which iTunes can handle, including Arabic, Hebrew, Thai, Vietnamese, Devanagari, Tamil, Tibetan, etc.

  • Since yesterday, I have been seeing "bookmark syncing in progress" on the status bar for minutes at a time, and the browser becomes almost useless as it freezes.

At some point, I'll see 'bookmark syncing failed', and the browser then acts normally, BUT the behavior is cyclic. I uninstalled 7.0.1 and installed 3.6.20 and the behavior continued. I disabled sync in both installs and the behavior continued. I even deleted the sync server URL in about:config and the behavior *continued*. Oddly, the logs don't show any failures, and report success every time.
BTW, the bug-reporting procedure needs serious clean-up. It is very difficult to navigate the maze. And the help files are atrocious.

That maybe fixes some issues, but not this one. This one has to do with Sync and is getting seriously annoying.
