also ..
in case i want to export the report to csv file.. the arabic content is not encoded and it being displayed as quistion marks (???????)
Any help guys ,,,i ready need it

Hello,
" and when I'm having a report on these tables , the disp of atahe report crashs ( in other word, the report content mixed )"Arabic is written from right to left. Are you setting the orientation of your page report correctly?
You can set it on a page level, using the style attribute "direction : rtl" on the page 'body' tag (using CSS) or on your page header. You can also set it on a specific column, using the same attribute.
in case i want to export the report to csv file.. the arabic content is not encoded and it being displayed as quistion marks (???????)APEX is exporting all its files in utf-8. Your question mark characters probably indicate that your client can't read utf-8. In addition, you should go to the globalization definitions of your application, and set the "Automatic CSV Encoding" to "Yes".
Regards,
Arie.

  • The ADO NET Source was unable to process the data. ORA-64203: Destination buffer too small to hold CLOB data after character set conversion.

     We developed a SSIS Package to pull the data From Oracle source to Sql Server 2012. Here we used ADO.Net source to pull the records from Source but getting the below error after pulling some 40K records.
      [ADO NET Source [2]] Error: The ADO NET Source was unable to process the data. ORA-64203: Destination buffer too small to hold CLOB data after character set conversion.
    [SSIS.Pipeline] Error: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_PRIMEOUTPUTFAILED.
     The PrimeOutput method on ADO NET Source returned error code 0xC02090F5.
     The component returned a failure code when the pipeline engine called PrimeOutput().
    The meaning of the failure code is defined by the component,
    but the error is fatal and the pipeline stopped executing.
     There may be error messages posted before this with more
    information about the failure.
    Anything that we can do to fix this?

    Hi,
      Tried both....
      * Having schema type as Nvarchar(max). - Getting the same error.
      * Instead of ADO.Net Source used OLEDB Source with driver as " Oracle Provide for OLE DB" Getting error as below.
           [OLE DB Source [478]] Error: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR.  An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80004005.
           [SSIS.Pipeline] Error: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_PRIMEOUTPUTFAILED.  The PrimeOutput method on OLE DB Source returned error code 0xC0202009.  The component returned a failure

    Additional Info:
       * Here the Source task is getting failed not the conversion or destination task.

  • How can you SELECT via Database Link CLOB data using Application Express?

    Customer Issue:
    Developer using Oracle's Application Express 3.1. The Developer is trying to SELECT a CLOB datatype column from a remote (10.2.0.3) database, via a database link on her 10.2.0.4 based client Application. The Developer wants to be able to select CLOB data from the remote database which has limitation that she can't make any changes to the remote database.
    Developer's Comments:
    I do a select and get the error. Getting error ORA-22992: cannot use LOB locators selected from remote tables. So she feels she can't use dbms_lob.substr in this configuration I can do a "select into" but that is for one value. I am trying to run a select statement for a report that brings back more than one row. I do not have permission to change anything on the remote database. I want to access the remote database and multiple tables.
    This is not something I work with, would greatly appreciate help or ideas. Is this a limitation of the 3.1; or does she just not have this set up correctly; or should she be using a Collection (if yes, please share example)
    Thanks very much,
    Pam

    Hello???
    Would really appreciate an answer.
    Thanks,
    Pam

    This may not be a perfect solution for you but it worked for my situation.
    I wanted to grab some data from Grid Control's MGMT$JOB_STEP_HISTORY table but I couldnt' create an Interactive Report due to the existance of a CLOB column. I cheated this by creating a view on the GC DB, grabbing the first 4000 characters and turning it into a varchar2 column:
    create view test_job_step_history as
    select job_Name, target_name, status, start_time, end_time, to_char(substr(output,1,4000)) output
    from MGMT$JOB_STEP_HISTORY where trunc(end_time) > trunc(sysdate)-90
    In an APEX Interactive Report:
    select * from test_job_step_history@GCDB
    Granted, the output looks aweful right now but I am only looking for a very particular output (failed, denied, ORA-, RMAN-, etc) so the formatting isn't the most important thing to me right now.
    If anyone can improve -- and I'm sure you can -- on this I'd love to hear about it.
    Thanks,
    Rich

  • Loading CLOB data to a flat file in owb 11.2.0.3

    Hi,
    Also,I have one more question.I want to load a table with clob data into a flat file using my owb client 11.2.0.3.But when I run this simple mapping ,I am getting this error:
    ORA-06502:pl/sql:NUMERIC OR VALUE ERROR:CHARACTER STRING BUFFER TOO SMALL.
    Please suggest what needs to be done.

    I was up all night as I had a dead line doing this....
    Turned out my Mapping was corrupted.
    If you do a series of synchronizations by object name, position, id the mapping would end up corrupted.
    I had to delete my staging table operator within the mapping, drag and drop and reconnect and now my loads work just fine..
    Thanks

  • Unload CLOB data to a flat file

    Hi,
    does anybody knows how to unload CLOB data to a flat file. Can u pl give a example. Is there any ulity in Oracle to unload data to a flat file. Whether we have to use the concatation operator for unloading the data to a flat file.
    help??????
    regards,
    gopu

    I don't know if there's an easy way, but you might want to try using the packages UTL_FILE and DBMS_LOB.
    Hope that helps.

    What are the options we have?Run an update on the Oracle table following the inserts to replace the escaped CR/LFs with real ones:
    update foo
    set clob_column = replace(clob_column, '\r\n', chr(13) || chr(10));You might want to experiment to see which characters are actually necessary. As an OS X/Linux user I'd probably just use a single LF chr(10).

    You may need to put double quotes around your CSV string data, so that Excel can recognise it as single values rather than trying to split it across cells/rows.
    For example a nicely formed CSV may look like:

  • Using sqlldr to load CLOB data from DB2

    I am stuck trying to resolve this problem. I am migrating data from DB2 to Oracle. I used DB2 export to extract the data specifying lobsinfile clause. This created all the CLOB data in one file. So a typical record has a column with a reference to the CLOB data. "OUTFILE.001.lob.0.2880/". where OUTFILE.001.lob is the name specified in the export command and 0 is the starting position in the file and 2880 is the length of the first CLOB.
    When I try to load this data using sqlldr I'm getting a file not found.
    The control file looks something like this:
    clob_1 FILLER char(100),
    "DETAILS" LOBFILE(clob_1) TERMINATED BY EOF,
    I'm using Oracle 11gR2 and DB2 9.7.5
    Your help is appreciated.

    OK..here are additional details. Some names have changed but the idea is the same. Also the sqlldr is executing in the same directory as the data files and the control file
    Primary data file is VOIPCACHE.dat Secondary datafile (file with lob data) is VOIPCACHE.001.lob

  • Using CLOB data type - Pros and Cons

    Dear Gurus,
    We are designing a database that will be receiving comments from external data source. These comments are stored as CLOB in the external database. We found that only 1% of incoming data will be larger than 4000 characters and are now evaluating the Pros and Cons of storing only 4000 characters of incoming comments in VARCHAR2 data type or using CLOB data type.
    Some of the concerns brought up during discussion were:
    - having to store CLOBs in separate tablespace;
    - applications, such Toad require changing defaults settings to display CLOBs in the grid. Default value is not to display them;
    - applications that build web page with CLOBs will be struggling to fit 18 thousand chararcters of which 17 thousand are blank lines;
    - cashing CLOBs in memory will consume big chunk of data buffers which will affect performance;
    - to manipulate CLOBs you need PL/SQL anonymous block or procedure;
    - bind variables cannot be assigned CLOB value;
    - dynamic SQL cannot use CLOBs;
    - temp tables don't work very well with CLOBs;
    - fuzzy logic search on CLOBs is ineffective;
    - not all ODBC drivers support Oracle CLOBs
    - UNION, MINUS, INTERSECT don't work with CLOBs
    I have not delt with CLOB data type in the past, so I am hoping to hear from you of any possible issues/hastles we may encounter?

    Some of the concerns brought up during discussion were:
    - having to store CLOBs in separate tablespace;They can be stored inline too. Depends on requirements.
    - applications, such Toad require changing defaults settings to display CLOBs in the grid. Default value is not to display them;Toad is a developer tool so that shouldn't matter. What should matter is how you display the data to end users etc. but that will depend on the interface. Some can handle CLOBs and others not. Again, it depends on the requirements.
    - applications that build web page with CLOBs will be struggling to fit 18 thousand chararcters of which 17 thousand are blank lines;Why would they struggle? 18,000 characters is only around 18k in file size, that's not that big to a web page.
    - cashing CLOBs in memory will consume big chunk of data buffers which will affect performance;Who's caching them in memory? What are you planning on doing with these CLOBs? There's no real reason they should impact performance any more than anything else, but it depends on your requirements as to how you plan to use them.
    - to manipulate CLOBs you need PL/SQL anonymous block or procedure;You can manipulate CLOBs in SQL too, using the DBMS_LOB package.
    - bind variables cannot be assigned CLOB value;Are you sure?
    - dynamic SQL cannot use CLOBs;Yes it can. 11g supports CLOBs for EXECUTE IMMEDIATE statements and pre 11g you can use the DBMS_SQL package with CLOB's split into a VARCHAR2S structure.
    - temp tables don't work very well with CLOBs;What do you mean "don't work well"?
    - fuzzy logic search on CLOBs is ineffective;Seems like you're pulling information from various sources without context. Again, it depends on your requirements as to how you are going to use the CLOB's
    - not all ODBC drivers support Oracle CLOBs not all, but there are some. Again, it depends what you want to achieve.
    - UNION, MINUS, INTERSECT don't work with CLOBsTrue.
    I have not delt with CLOB data type in the past, so I am hoping to hear from you of any possible issues/hastles we may encounter?You may have more hassle if you "need" to accept more than 4000 characters and you are splitting it into seperate columns or rows, when a CLOB would do it easily.
    It seems as though you are trying to find all the negative aspects of CLOBs and ignoring all the positive aspects, and also ignoring the negative aspects of not using CLOB's.
    Without context you're assumptions are just that, assumptions, so nobody can tell you if it will be right or wrong to use them. CLOB's do have their uses, just as XMLTYPE's have their uses etc. If you're using them for the right reasons then great, but if you're ignoring them for the wrong reasons then you'll suffer.

  • Pl/sql Procedure is Not Creating With the CLOB data Type

    Hi,
    I am Using Oracle 10g Express Edition Release2.... My Doubt is While creating a table With CLOB Data Type the table is created successfully,but while Creating a Procedure With the CLOB Data type i am getting an Error Message
    2667/5 PL/SQL: Statement ignored
    2667/24 PLS-00382: expression is of wrong type
    then i tried With the Varchar2(30000) the Procedure is Created Successfully note i have not changed any thing in my code except the data type.
    I am Just Confused ......Why the Procedure is not Created with CLOB Data type?
    Please advice ...
    Thank U

    hi,
    Thanks for reply....Another Example
    CREATE TABLE USER_MAS (USER_ID     VARCHAR2 (20 Byte),MAIL_ID     VARCHAR2 (255 Byte));
    set serveroutput on
    declare
    atable varchar2(64) := 'USER_MAS';
    acolumn varchar2(64) := 'MAIL_ID';
    avalue varchar2(64) := 'NEWYORK' ;
    dyn_sql clob;
    begin
    dyn_sql := 'update '||atable||' set '||acolumn||' = '''||avalue|| '''' ;
    dbms_output.put_line(dyn_sql);
    execute immediate dyn_sql;
    end;
    commit ;
    Error at line 2
    ORA-06550: line 9, column 23:
    PLS-00382: expression is of wrong type
    ORA-06550: line 9, column 5:
    PL/SQL: Statement ignored
    When i Changed the Data type to varchar2(64)
    update USER_MAS set MAIL_ID = 'NEWYORK'
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    Commit complete.
    I like to Know the Reason Why the Procedure is Not Created in Oracle 10g XE DB
    Note :the Same Script i used in 11g DB the Procedure is Created Successfully....
    Why you need use CLOB or VARCHAR2 in your temp_num variable as you sending parameters as number?
    In the Procedure we are create some run time queries while executing the procedure. There are around 10 run time queries created.
    The size of each query is more than 4000 characters . We then add all the queries using union all after each query  to the clob variable as the normal varchar will not support.
    Please Advice
    Thank U
