Arabic font from photoshop to FCP

I've got Arabic fonts on Adobe Photoshop and would like to use them to type then transfer the image to FCP. Except when i type in Photoshop, it types in English instead of Arabic. Although the font selected is in Arabic.
Help please.

You may need a special version of Adobe apps to do Arabic correctly. See the Applications section of this note:

  • How can I add an arabic font in Photoshop CS5?

Hi..I have windows 7, and am using photoshop CS5. I have an arabic font installed in my control panel
thus i can use it in all other programs..except for photoshop. I cant view that arabic font in the photoshop
fonts drop down box. I would really appreciate if anyone can help me! thanks.

Thanks a lot, however there is another arabic font in photoshop, which I can use,
but whenever i use that font, its doesnt come out right..its like the letters are disjointed.
Also i tried to look for the 'Middle Eastern Format" in the "paragraph" section..but the
middle eastern option was not availabe. So the point is I can't write in Arabic in Photoshop!
I'd really appreciate if someone could help me.Thanks.

  • Fonts from Photoshop to Premier not clean

I'm attempting to make an simple slide show in Premier Pro CS4 with slides that were created layered in Photoshop CS4 Extended.  the slideshow will be dispalyed on a computer screen in a kiosk at a large sales convention.
    My workflow is:
export the graphic from Photoshop in an image format
    import into Premier
place each graphic on the timeline.
    export as a movie
My problem is that while the graphics look great, the text looks horrible - smeared, pixelated, blurred.
The font used by the graphic designer in Photoshop is ITC Franklin Gothic Book, and in other places,  ITC Franklin Gothic Demi
I've tried exporting from Photoshop to JPG, PNG, BMP, TIFF and they all look horrid.
I've tried using other fonts, with no different outcome.
    I've tried different Premier templates
I've tried different output formats (AVI, MOV, WMV, H.264, etc.
Does anyone have any suggestions? It seems like it should be simple, but not so much
Thanks in advance for any help!

You seem to talk of "graphics" and "text" ( and both looking awful) so I am wondering what specifically do you mean.
I get and use graphic text from Photoshop on a regular basis and these look perfect in HD Broadcast (and everything else) and I also use graphic text direct from PPRO Titler without any issues.
    A Text-Graphic  to me can be :
    > A  simple type face / font from my client designers computer that they wish me to use as a "super"  over a video scene /frame.  This usually happens when I do not have that typeface / font  in my Windows systems. (My clients use MAC largely)
    or
    > It can be a custom built designer  type with complex enhancements ( shadows/fills/shapes / paths etc...).  Effectively this is a graphic in my jargon.
We interchange both of these as PSD files ( usually layered so I have control of all the elements).  I work them around from these. eg flattening etc..
They are produced slightly larger than needed in my Sequence and always in RGB (not CMYK)
    and ...
    > I also use graphic text direct from PPRO Titler without any issues
Straight TEXT to me is basic body copy and maybe small.
Wish I could advise more on your issue ...but maybe some of this is helpful.
Were / why  does the 805  x 602 come into your equation?  Are you using a Custom Sequnce  Setting  for this project?

  • Need Help with Arabic Font from Microsoft word to Adobe Illustrator

hello after i spoke with a adobe professional at the mac store, I was told that in my Mac computer in systems preferences, click on international and then click tab on Input Menu and select the arabic input source. Once I did that i thought it would work but then realize i saw another issue.
It look totally different. Please any suggestions?
    thanks
    Justina

Without a different version of AI (AIME from Winsoft) your are not going to be able to handle a Right to Left language such as Arabic in regular AI. Your best bet is to make a PDF from Word and place it as an image in AI.

  • Saving .png images from Photoshop for FCP

Is it best to save them as Interlaced or Progressive?
They are for import into Final Cut Pro, then exported as part of a motion menu for use in DVD Studio Pro.
Will one option give better quality over another?
    The project is SD PAL.

One thing that's confusing me is some button boxes I've made up for DVDSP.
They don't look the same thickness in FCP yet they are identical in Photoshop. It's very annoying!
Might be because they are not sitting exactly on a scan line, so a top or bottom edge is getting cut off.
Try moving the suspects up or down slightly.
Do you have a thin, surrounding edge on them? Make it a little bit thicker.

  • Image masks from photoshop to FCP

    Searched the data base and cannot find an answer to;
How to get a BW shaped 'mask' jpg to act as a mask?
    Only making slideshows.
I have tried placing an image on line V1 then the 'mask' on V2 and right clicking to make composite mode luma - sort of worked.
Tried to place the 'mask' (with no image on V2) in the filter matt section with no luck at all.
Next step is to get the mask to move across screen.
I am very confused about this so any help in plain english would be gratefully appreciated.

    Thanks James, that works.
    Now for the next step.
How do you get the mask to move? and
How do get the forground or/and background image to move across screen?
Tried using the motion section but image is locked in place, I can rotate it, but not move horizontal or vertical.

  • Tamil font cant copy to FCP 6 text

I have this problem. Whenever i copy Tamil font from outside to FCP text box, the fcp wont recongnise and show me alien font. However, when i type inside the fcp text box, it works fine.
Its works fine in OS 10.4.11 and FCP 5.1.4.
May i know how can i overcome this problem?

apart from copy / pasting the text, are you choosing the font from the font list?
and have you tried using Boris Title 3D instead ? (it has better font support and text rendering)

  • Please, a DEFINITIVE ANSWER: import logos from Photoshop w/ no background

    Hi,
I've scoured these forums for a solution to this question and as of yet have found nothing fully answered or easily interpretable. For the benefit of myself and those others who have asked the question to little or no avail, PLEASE offer your insights on how to import a logo from Photoshop into FCP so that it has no white, black, or any kind, of background (i.e. that it exists on a transparent canvas in both Photoshop and FCP, so that when you place it on your timeline, superimposed over footage, you will not see that it appears set against a white rectangle or square, in the shape of the canvas on which the image appeared in Photoshop.)
Now, let's presuppose I'm an idiot -- which is, in truth, pretty accurate. I'm gonna need basic terminology. Tell me what buttons to push. What file type to export from Photoshop (I'm hoping you will say TARGA). And please, above all, try to avoid cryptic tech language such as "you must first decapulate the vector-field" and whatever...that stuff reads like hieroglyphics to me.
I am running FCP 4 and some recent version of Photoshop (I'm not at my computer at the moment but I'm not sure what tremendous difference the version number might make).
And of course, thanks in advance for an help and insight you might be able to offer.
    Cheers

First, you really need to make sure your logo file actually AHS a transparent background. If is doesn't start a new Photoshop document WITH a transparent background and drag the contents from the original logo file to the new PS document. If a background os present, select it with one of the select tools (I use Color Range quite often for this) and delete it. Save the new PS document in a format that supports transparency such as TIF or PSD.
import the new PS document into FCP.

  • Import Image from Photoshop

I am trying to import an image with a transparent background from photoshop to FCP. But when I import it into FCP the background of the image appears white. Does anyone have a resolution to this problem? Thank you.

It worked, thanks so much Steve. You really helped me out. I'm a filmmaker and my DVD is coming out in 2 weeks so this was the finishing touches on it - trying to get the FBI logo on the warning for the intro into the film
    Thanks again.

  • Photoshop hanging FCP 7

We have multiple MacPro's on an Apple Xsan server all loaded with 6GB ram. When switching back and forth from photoshop to FCP 7, Final Cut sometimes doesnt respond (spinning Ball) All other apps work including the finder. I have waited 5-10 mins and Final cut has returned. Seems like it could be a ram issue. It is happening on multiple systems.
    Any thoughts
    Keith

Seems like it could be a ram issue
Very hard to believe RAM is the issue. How did you arrive at this conclusion?
There was some noise a while ago about how FCP would not revive after being hidden when switching apps. Your issue could be related.

  • I can't past in any text from Photoshop to Premiere, RTL or LTR Latin, Hebrew or Arabic text to Premiere Pro cc 2014. It works only between Photoshop 2014 - AE 2014.

Any one suffering from the same issue?
I use to write text RTL(right to left) written languages like Arabic and Hebrew in Photoshop, where after copy and paste the text in Premiere to get the job done. With the latest version of Adobe cc 2014 I can't copy and past any text in to Premiere from Photoshop any more, not even text written in latin. Any one has the same problem or work around this issue possibly. It still works fine to copy/paste arabic text written on Photoshop in to After Effects, but Premiere pro 2014 when you paste any text.
I'm sure this forum works as feedback for Adobe in general and my question is:
    - Does adobe have any intention in the future to implement RTL text writing in Adobe CC or not? Could any one please answer this question from ADOBE?
As media consultant I can only recommend for my clients using RTL to use Apple FCP X which has built in RTL support and a new way of editing and greater workflow.

Please check this blog post. Updating from Time Machine can cause this issue: Premiere Pro CC, CC 2014, or 2014.1 freezing on startup or crashing while working (Mac OS X 10.9, and later).
    Thanks,

  • Just purchased a font from Adobe, the font shows in every program except Photoshop CS4

I just purchased the Frutiger family of fonts from Adobe, and installed them via the Control Panel>Fonts>Install New Font.  This new font family shows up in every Windows program including Outlook and all the Office programs.  However, it doesn't shop up in Photoshop CS4 which is where I need it.  I saw similar questions with solutions that worked such as:  Copy the fonts from Windows>Fonts  to the Adobe>Fonts.  However, I don't have a Fonts folder under my Adobe folder.
Very frustrating since I purchased this font package from Adobe.
    Any help would be appreciated.

OpenType versions or the old Type 1 format?
Also, you will never access any new fonts unless you exit all the Adobe applications first.
Also, you may need to clean up one or more of the Adobe font cache files. With all Adobe applications exited, delete all files of form AdobeFnt##.lst  where ##  is a two digit number. Those files will be regenerated when you run the Adobe applications. All fonts should be found during such a "rebuild."
Another thing to look for is whether for some reason or another, the fonts are placed outside of normal alphabetic order in the Adobe applications. This sometimes happens if the font has a non-standard character set or name.

  • Can't get fonts from windows to come up in CS4 photoshop

Hello, I have CS4 photoshop extended, and i can't get the fonts that come with Windows Vista to come up on CS4 photoshop also i have illustrator CS4 and i get the same response on the fonts over there.  I tried copying the fonts from windows to the fonts folder in adobe and it just kicks it out.  The fonts i am trying to load is Arial Black,Arial bold, helevitica, just to name a few, i don't want to have to pay for those fonts if i already have them.  Any suggestions?  Tim McCuiston

Be aware that some fonts are listed under different names in Adobe programs and that some show the main name to the left window and the variations in the right.
