Arabic language for playbook

hi,
How can I enable my playbook to read and write Arabic language?

Whille we are all waiting for OS BB10 to be ported onto Playbook, I doubt there will be any major improvements to OS2.1
It's possibe you will have all the languages currently enjoyed on Z10 and I understand that includes Arabic.
We will all have to wait. Probably into second half of this year as no betas are available yet.
Have you searched Blackberry World for arabic keyboard apps?

  • Arabic language for PlayBook os 2

I'm from egypt and i use Arabic language and i heard that there are Arabic language for PlayBook but i can't git or fiend it
Please help me to install Arabic language for my PlayBook
    Thank you

    Dear Sir or Madam
I recently bought one of your products, the Blackberry Playbook. It is a great tablet and powerful. I speak English but my mother tongue is Arabic. Because I had a Blackberry phone and the Arabic language is fully supported in all blackberry phones so I thought that there will be no problem with the Playbook regarding Arabic language support.
However, unfortunately, my guess was wrong. The tablet does not support Arabic language. When using the bridge feature the Arabic letters are displayed unconnected and in the wrong direction (from the left to right instead from right to left).
This makes the Playbook useless for me in many situations, for example when presenting documents for conference.
I am writing to you to know if there is a fix for this or if you are updating the language support for the playbook in short coming time.
Please do not use the word soon, as this word lost its meaning when Google abused its use. The life of an electronic gadget is very short these days, so the full support should be available for the user to benefit from the gadget.
In addition, Blackberry phones are very popular in the Middle East and many people, which I know, said to me they will never buy the Playbook if there is no Arabic language support, (I discovered this after I bought the playbook).
If you are aiming high and looking to compete with the leading producer in the tablet market, then just look at how it is easy to change the interface language in the Apple iPad.

I really doubt that there will be any language(s) add to the PlayBook, it was announced a few months ago that the PlayBook will only receive maintenance update and that the BB10 OS will not be made available to the PlayBook because the requirement for the new OS is behound the capability of the PlayBook (BB10 need 2Gb RAM, PlayBook only has 1Gb).
Using the Playbook and the Z10 and the Z30 and loving them

  • Why does not it support Arabic language for Pages?

I would like to buy (Pages) but unfotunately it does not support Arabic language

Use a different app like everyone else does.  Mellel is best, but TextEdit, Nisus Writer, Open/Neo/LibreOffice should also work.  MS Word for Mac does not.
To give Apple your views, use the channel they have set up for that:

I purchased my 5800XM from a Middle Eastern country with Arabic language included, but when I updated its firmware online I lost Arabic and couldn't bring it back. I have installed many firmware updates later but all of them didn't include Arabic. Many of my friends are experiencing the same issue. I was advised to go to drop my phone by a Nokia Careline and I did, but I was told that I have to leave my phone and the new firmware will be installed in 2 days!!
Later on I discoeverd that my phone is designed to be sold in SSA not MENA. Its product code is 0577493. And that simply means that Nokia has wrongfully distributed this model in the Middle East although it should have been sold in SSA (which is South Africa, or South America). Now I moved to another Middle Eastern country where I cannot reach the seller of my phone.
Is there any way to re-install Arabic again online?
It's not nokia that has wrongfully distributed it,
rather your retailer has bought the phone on the grey market for less than he could have bought it direct from Nokia and imported it to the MEA, installed the language pack and then sold it on
More money for him, more problems for you

  • Arabic Language for Nokia 808 PureView US version

    Hi guys,
I got my new Nokia 808 PureView (US version) from amazon.com. I want to add Arabic language to it. Is there any way to do it?
    Thanks,

Yes there is. You will need to visit your local Nokia Care point and they will add the Arabic language pack to your phone. Be advised that the language pack will be removed in the event that you update the phone or perform a full factory reset.
Only Nokia Care can add the language packs because there is special software needed which only they legally possess.

  • Re: Language Pack for Playbook.

    Hello,
I like to know if Rim is working on new language pack, I 've been waiting for Korean ime since the date it came out to market in 2011.
Are they really working on getting more languages for playbook?
Or, is there any other way to install Korean on playbook ?

    Hey jkyoung53,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
I would suggest keeping an eye on this KB article for more languages to be supported: www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB29590
Let me know if you have any more questions.
    Cheers.

  • Arabic language is not supported

Why RIM didn't support Arabic language in playbook until the moment??
It is disgusting that they're not considering the Arabic users. Although it is available in the their phones, they didn't support it in playbook. I bought my playbook when I thought it is supported. I was disappointed when I found out that Arabic is not supported yet. I've been waiting since then for an update to fix my issue. I hope it is going to be soon. We all are waiting.

Just hang on. BlackBerry 10 will have multi-lingual support.
After the phones are released, you'll be able to upgrade the PlayBook to BlackBerry 10. No idea exactly when, but RIM have said it will come.
I imagine that most BlackBerry devs are working on BlackBerry 10 and the current Tablet OS team is focused on the next version now.
Doesn't fix it now, but at least it's coming.
