When I start Crystal Reports XI the program is in the language Dutch.I'm living in The Netherlands, but my Windows XP is the English version.I want to change the language of Crystal Reports, but how do I do that...

V361:If you are not on product version 11.5.8.963 (help, about CR) you will need to download the latest hotfix, or R2 upgrade.  When you run that, it will prompt you for language as part of the process. I've installed R2 (upgrade). And when installing I selected the Englisch language. But this is de language the setup is in, this is NOT the language of Crystal Reports when it is installed completely. The language of my installation is still Dutch. My product version is now: 11.5.8.826

  • Change GUI Language in Crystal Reports XI

How can I change the GUI language of a installed Crystal Reports XI? At the installation, I have choosen "English" but now the GUI is in German.
As I found out, the GUI language depends on the regional settings in Windows. I have "Switzerland" as the default settings, so it seems the Crystal Reports sets the language to German. Is there a registry key or something else to change the language manually?

    Stephan

    Hi Stephan,
When you install CR XI it should have the option to select all languages, I don't recall exact steps now, I don't have it installed any more.
Try doing a Repair install in add/remove programs and select Custom to choose all the languages. It should then select your default local.
CR 2008 now gives you the option in the Designer itself to set this option.
You can also upgrade to CR XI R2 for free, use your XI Keycode to install it and be sure to select the languages you want to support.

  • Arabic Text in Crystal Report

I am having issues in displaying Arabic in crystal report. I am pretty sure that the data stored in Oracle (10g) is okay because when I query the same data using SQL Developer or TOAD, it is fetching and displaying Arabic contents as well. However, when the same query is used in the Crystal report, it is converting Arabic text into some weird Characters like ãÎÊáÝ etc. However, when I type Arabic in Crystal report, it is fine. The only issue is when I retrieve Arabic data from the database in Crystal report and try to show it, it converts it into some weird characters.
I am using Crystal Report 2008 version 12.0.0.x and I used the font of the field to be "Arial Unicode" but still of no use. I even tried changing the font setting from "right to left"; still no use. I have also tried using various fonts like 'Arabic Typesetting", "Arial Unicode", "Arial Narrow" etc but problem is still there.
    Any suggestions?

Sorry Fahran - not sure I understand. Are you saying that all connections cause the same issue in CR 2011 with SP 9?
SP 9 can be downloaded here:

  • Language of crystal reports

Anyone know how to change the language setting of crystal reports 2008 dynamically?

    Hello Ludek,
Thanks for responding to my question. I ported already existed reports from CR 10 RDC to CR 2008 using .NET assembly for our client in the Netherlands. The client reported that the tooltips of the button and dialog boxes and even database fields of boolean ty are showing in Dutch, not in English. But in development machine it is showing in English. They needed it in English. My questions are:
    1. How this is happened. Is this because Dutch is selected when they installed the CR. Is CR is dependent on regional settings of the machine.
    2. Is it possible to change language dynamically to english. if yes how.
i would be grateful to you if this issue is resolved.

  • Crystal Reports in other languages ...

    Hi
I'm new to crystal reporting my question is can crystal reports (v10 to be specific) present data in other languages like for example Arabic even though your data source is English language? More like translate this data to that language, Is it just a matter of choosing the font when designing or its more complicated than that?
    Thanks

New since CR 9 is unicode support: http://technicalsupport.businessobjects.com/KanisaSupportSite/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=http--supportbusinessobjectscom-communityCS-TechnicalPapersNoNav-cr9whatsnewpdfasp&sliceId=&dialogID=24286720&stateId=1 0 24288668
"Unicode support means that the program code level in Crystal Reports is able to recognize language
characters that are based on Unicode.
Unicode is used to display double-byte characters such as the Chinese and Japanese character sets.
This enables you to create Crystal Reports that can display right-to-left languages and multiple
    languages in a single report."
So if your data is in unicode Crystal will be able to properly display the various languages.
If you wanted one single report to be viewed in different languages, then static strings in the report would need to be converted into formula fields which changes the text into the appropriate language based on a language parameter.  Some strings could not be handled in this manner though such as custom prompting strings.

    Hi,
Make sure that you have the right version of JRE in the system. Please try this steps in one client machine
    1. Uninstall all the version f JREs from a client computer
    2. launch Web Analysis Studio from that client computer
    3. It will prompt you to download & install the compatible JRE from the Web Analysis server into your client computer
    4. Install the JRE
    Hope this helps

  • Export Arabic Crystal Report To PDF

    Hi,
I am using JRC component to build crystal reports in English & Arabic. All works well except exporting Arabic crystal report to PDF?
    Crystal File Format Schema: 12.0.0
I was reading another 3 years old thread and this was stated there:
"If you are using the Java Reporting Component, you will not be able to see Arabic characters in your PDF document because the JRC does not support font embedding, and only works with a specific character set when exporting to Adobe" Any from SAP can you please confirm that does this still hold true? And are there any chances or plan to add support in future?
    Regards
    SC

Please disregard that part of the previous message.
As mentioned earlier, it depends on which of our products you are using to export the report.  If you are using the Java Reporting Component, you will not be able to see Arabic characters in your PDF document because the JRC does not support font embedding, and only works with a specific character set when exporting to Adobe.
If you are using the Crystal Reports designer or BusinessObjects Enterprise SDK to export the report, you will need to ensure you have the character set installed on the same machine; for BOE SDK it needs to be on the machine with all of the services.
