Arabic-language search limitations in RH HTML 6?

Our Middle-Eastern translator, who is using version 6, is having problems when she tries to search. Her question is:
"Can we search for Arabic text in the search or index fields of help created with RoboHelp or . . . are these functions not supported for Arabic?"
Thanks for any information you can provide.

Multi language support was introduced in RH7. See About RH7 on my site for the languages supported, it does not include Arabic or any right to left language.

  • How to display Arabic language in oracle 11g?

    Hi,
I have asked this question before, but no answers where given. I really need an answer because I cant find any working answer through the web.
    my case is:
I am building a php and oracle application, everything works fine until I tested the insert function for Arabic text, I
    get "?????"
    environment:
           - oracle 11g r2.
           - windows 7 (home)
           - database charset is set to AL32UTF8
           - Arabic language is installed on windows
           - HTML page character set to <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
           - NLS_LANG is set to ARABIC_UNITED ARAB EMIRATES.AL32UTF8
           -  I am viewing the data via Oracle Enterprise Manager
           - data is inserted via html form.
And I tried using ARABIC_UNITED ARAB EMIRATES.AR8MSWIN1256 instead of AL32UTF8, but did not solve the issue.
Please guys your help will be much appreciated, my whole application is on hold until this issue is resolved.
    Best Regards

  • Does Robohelp HTML V 7.02.001 support Arabic language to generate context sensitive help

Kindly let us know URGENTLY if RoboHelp 7.02.001 supports Arabic language to generate context sensitive help in Arabic. If RoboHelp does not support, let us know if there is any other workaround solution or third party integration tool that may help us to generate Arabic help files.

The supported languages are listed in the help file, they do not include right to left languages.
There are no tools that I know of but last week there was a post that might interest you.

It's somewhat hard to read your question because of the xml formatting characters, but I think your question is
Hi guys in my database i have hrdatabase has table Employee
Table Employee has field EmployeeName nvarchar(50)
my sql server support arabic language but i dont know how to handel query to accept arabic
    in query analyzer i write
select * from Employee where EmployeeName='احمد'
    Not give me any result
    i modify query as following
select * from Employee where EmployeeName=N'احمد'
it work and give me result meaning my sql support arabic
my proplem in this stored procedure
it is dynamic stored procedure and have more parameter but i dont know how to modify to accept arabic
The answer is that when you have 16 bit UNICODE data you must always compare the results as unicode, store the data in unicode (that is, nvarchar, nchar, or ntext) columns and variables and when using literals, you must use unicode literals (that is use
N'<the literal you want>', not '<the literal you want>'.  This is because whenever you implicitly or explicitly convert a unicode value to an eight bit value and there are characters in the unicode value that don't have a corresponding match
in the 8 bit system, those values are converted to question marks.  So in
Select * From Employee Where EmployeeName = 'احمد'
the 'احمد' are 16 bit unicode characters, but you are putting them into an 8 bit literal, so those characters get converted to question marks and that statement is equivalent to
Select * From Employee Where EmployeeName = '????'
and you don't get any rows back because you don't have any emplyees whose name is ????.
So when you are writing and calling your stored procedure, every thing that can contain an unicode value must be a unicode literal, column, or variable.  That means all such literals must be of the form N'<something', your columns, variables, and
parameters that can contain unicode data need to be nvarchar or nchar, any unicode values passed to that procedure must be nvarchar, nchar, or a unicode literal.

  • Arabic language for playbook

    hi,
How can I enable my playbook to read and write Arabic language?

Whille we are all waiting for OS BB10 to be ported onto Playbook, I doubt there will be any major improvements to OS2.1
It's possibe you will have all the languages currently enjoyed on Z10 and I understand that includes Arabic.
We will all have to wait. Probably into second half of this year as no betas are available yet.
Have you searched Blackberry World for arabic keyboard apps?

I really doubt that there will be any language(s) add to the PlayBook, it was announced a few months ago that the PlayBook will only receive maintenance update and that the BB10 OS will not be made available to the PlayBook because the requirement for the new OS is behound the capability of the PlayBook (BB10 need 2Gb RAM, PlayBook only has 1Gb).
Using the Playbook and the Z10 and the Z30 and loving them

  • How can put Arabic Language in my website?

    Hi,
I am created a website in english language, i wanted to convert that website to arabic language. how can embeded arabic font in my website with CSS.
because after uploading web page come some sybol instead of my text please help me

    Hello Mano(?),
as you can see, my approach allows two different character encodings on my website.
On the other hand I would like to focus on a wider issue:
You can specify the font set that uses the site. In the case of Arabic, you have two options, first is Unicode (UTF-8 or UTF-16) or you use the Arabic script looking set iso-8859-7 (or -6). See: http://www.w3.org/International/O-charset-lang.html.
It can be a problem with UTF-8 and UTF-16. UTF-8 requires 8 bits per character, then so are 256 different possible characters and so it could be it's not enough for Arabic. UTF-16 occupies two bytes for each character and so we have 65536 different possible characters.
If you apply the Arabic script set correctly, IE will prompt the visitor to install the appropriate language pack (I'm sure, not all users install this language pack.)
If you have bad luck, your provider messed up these your server settings. So, you have to go in consultation with your provider!
The ability to specify the direction of each tag in the CSS, e.g.:
    p {
        font-family: "Arabic Transparent";
        direction: 'rtl';
I really think that this way would be extremely difficult.
The best way in my opinion is - as I said before - use a simple simple text editor.

  • Is there any feature in Endeca to support the natural language search ?

I am looking to evaluate Endeca for implementing search for a help-center kind of a site where there are list of questions and answers available and the requirement is to provide a search for this content. The guest user can type in question or some search terms in the box to get the right question and ultimately the answer to the question.
However; what I see from the basic tests is that there will be demand of natural language search for verbal matching. I understand that some part of this feature is supported by stemming in Endeca but that dictionary is not the complete list. It will not be a scalable solution to have business update this word forms in the stemming dictionary time and again for such requirement.
Are there any thoughts on the above problem ? What can be the possible ways to move ahead ?
    Thanks,
    Nit

    Here's a few tips:
    - First, Endeca doesn't do natural language processing.  It is very literal with the words that are entered and matched.
    - By default, the MDEX limits the number of search terms to 10 by default.  Meaning if you entered 11 or more terms, terms #11 and so-forth would be ignored.
    - You can increase this by setting the --search_max flag (typically configured in the <dgraph-defaults> section of your appConfig.xml
    - Now, you can increase this to be quite large (say 200 terms).  Then, when a customer enters in their problem description, it won't ignore terms.
    - Use the "Match Any" match mode.  Now, this might give you a lot of search results, but that goes to my next point.
    - Use the NTerms match mode as your first relevancy ranking module.   This will order the results based on the number of terms
    - Make sure you have a good set of "Stop Words", like "the a and it was is of", etc.
So now what will happen is that the customer will enter their problem, and you'll submit the whole thing to the mdex.  The MDEX will throw out the stop words, and then order the results based on the number of terms that matched.
Some other relevancy modules to think about:
    - WFreq / Weighted Frequency.  This counts the frequency of words that are more important.
    - Stay away from Phrase and Exact.  They'll almost certainly be too slow.
    - Use a Static module based on the view count of an article, so that more popular articles will show up first.
You might also want to turn off these MDEX features:
    --wb_noibrk    Disables word-break insertion analysis.
    --wb_norbrk    Disables word-break removal analysis.
If you're going to submit big sets of search terms, those features will probably be too slow.

  • Supporting Arabic Language

    Hi all,
I need to ask some Questions and I hope helping from you
The first One Does the Hyperion Planning 11.1.2 Support the Arabic Language or not? and if it yes, how can I do that?
and the Second one Does it support the Hijri calender for some country which using it like Saudi Arabia or not ?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
Having implemented number of Arabic-English bilingual applications, I can safely assure that what's provided in Rahul's e-mail suggests the right answer (slightly except hijri calendar). However, I'll share my own experiences.
    1. There is no problem in displaying Arabic text in Planning. You can create an Arabic alias table and load all Arabic aliases to this table. You can even load arabic text as member names or to default alias. But I would suggest loading Arabic text into a separate alias table. Make sure you create the application in unicode mode.
    2. Customizations can be done in Arabic also. Make sure you save validatedata.js in Utf encoding. In order to customize system generated e-mail messages in Arabic, you should convert Arabic message to ASCII codes first before doing this:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/hp_admin/ch13s05s02.html
    3. Menus, messages etc. have not been translated to Arabic yet. Therefore, they will remain in English.
    4. Web form orientation or overall screen orientation is from left to right. None of the the user I've seen has complained about it so far but if they insist on seeing the forms from right to left, you can enable smartview and change the page orientation to right to left if it hasn't been already.
    5. Financial Reporting supports Arabic provided that you use an Arabic compliant font in your reports. We've mostly used Arabic Transparent.
    6. User names must be in English in Shared Services however, there is no problem to provide full name in Arabic.
    7. And lastly, Hijri calendar is not supported. You can of course rename months as Hijri months as the number of months is the same as Gregorian, but date functions in Essbase are not Hijri compliant.
    Cheers,
    Alp

does snow leopard have any problem with Arabic language cause i noticed strange behavior with word the letters are not linked together every letter alone
Right, MS Word for OS X has never yet supported Arabic (or any Indic language either).
in pages its fine but the cursor don't move between letters and when i type it stays at beginning of the line although i can type why is that happening ?
Because, while Pages does support Arabic (and also Indic), it has various bugs which make it unsuitable for RTL scripts for most people (unless copy/paste from elsewhere is enough). Same for Keynote and Numbers and iWeb.
Use instead Mellel, TextEdit, Nisus Writer, OpenOffice, etc.

    You can try this:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/change-installed-language.html
It's possible to install another language on top of the language you already use. You need to switch your system's language to be able to use the other one.
