Arabic text scrambled on printing

Dears,
I have an arabic smartform, I have copied the device type to ZARSWIN, when I used this z device type, the text was printed as Courier New. The requirement is to use Times New Roman font, so I added TIMES font to ZARSWIN and used font TIMES in my form as well for normal, bold, italic and blod/italic. when displaying the form it looks perfect, 100% aligned, text displayed correctly, just looking perfect. When printing to "HP Lasterjet M3035 MPF PCL6" some characters are causing the word to be printed in the reversed order (example instead of 1234 I'm having 4321) and text alignment is totally corrupted. Text is getting out of the table cell borders and for some text lines there is a leading spaces that I dont where coming from, in the text there is no space at all but when displayed a lot oof leading spaces are appearing (this was not happening before adding TIMES).
The text is aligned within the cell border only when I use Courrier font also what I see in the preview is the same as what is printed on the paper. This is what I need to have with Time New Roman.
please help.

Hello,
@ David: my form language is AR and I'm only printing arabic, there is no LTR text only RTL.
@ Chris: the printer already accepts arabic, I can print an arabic document from MS Word correctly. In addition, I'm using printer font Andale_J with controls SF001 (non-hex, Esc:Currier New) and SF011 (hex, 178). the form is correctly printed but in font Currier New which is too bad. even when I use TIMES the text is printed correctly expect some characters but the alignement is totally corrupted.
can this be resolved installing a new TIMES font and pplaying with the font output controls and control characters? I have tried that but always getting the same result, I may be missing something.
also can you guid me where I can find something to understand Control Caharacter Sequence? for example what does this mean: 1B28304E?

  • Printing Arabic text in Oracle Application(R12i) using XML Publisher.

    Hi,
I am using Oracle Application R12i version with Oracle database as 10g, base language as English and installed language as Arabic.
I am trying to print the data which is there in English/Arabic in Oracle Application(using XML Publisher).
I've created a rdf using Report Builder 10g and registered as concurrent program (XML as Output format). There after i executed the concurrent program and generated the XML file.
Based on the XML file, i created a rtf file using XML Desktop(in Ms word) and register the same rtf file in XML Publisher Administrator for creating the XML definition and Template and Output as PDF.
After creating a XML template, when i executed the Concurrent program, english text is shown in english but arabic text is shown some ascii characters like Question Mark(up side down).
Could anyone please let us know the steps for doing the same or plz let us know are we missing any step.

  • How to print Arabic text along with the English in smartform ( ECC6 version

    Hi All,
our is ECC6 version, Non unicode, ABAP stack ( not dual stack )
is it possible to print in Arabic language in the above version ?
if yes, then please let me know how to print Arabic text and English text in the same smartfrom.
i tried in the following procedures :
    1) i created standard text (SO10) in arabic language.
    i called in the smartform ( include text - i )
    langage AR
but system throws error message saying, required language is not installed.
    2) if i use READ_TEXT function module.
text getting printed in diff format but not in arabic.
    waiting for your replies..

ECC6 and Non-Unicode? I think you'll need multiple code pages, I doubt there's a mixed Arabic/Latin1 available. And I don't think SAP supports new MDMP systems any more. If you need to support multiple languages you really need to go Unicode. It's probably easier to do the Unicode conversion than to try to support multiple code pages and you have to make the switch eventually.

  • Arabic text printing using smartfroms

    Hi,
I' m printing Purchase oder in Arabic language , we installed Arabic supoort drivers

    Please help me on this
    Thanks
    Naveen

I am facing exactly the same problem with printing arabic text in samrtforms. I guess you the Device type in the printer settings would be set to either ARSWIN. Try changing it to I6SWIN and it should work to some extent. The arabic words should come up correctly in the print ( not in print preview). However it would print # in the start and end of the form. This is not acceptable in my case and I am still looking for a better solution. See if it helps you in some way.

please guys I need an answer. To get answers about using iText I use "iText In Action, 2nd edition" by the prime author of iText - Bruno Lowagie.Classic way to make money - make the API free and sell the documentation. Also an honorable way to make money IMO.I was using iText before 2004 when the first edition of the book came out ( 4 years or so after the library was first introduced) and it was hard work. PDF is a very complex document format and just using the Javadoc does not really get you anywhere. There are many 'gotchas' in iText and most of the iText tutorials cover only the very basics and pretty much none of the 'gochas'. The book starts off with very simple examples that could be constructed from the Javadoc but then it does move on to the more complex issues. Worth every penny.

    Hi
Use the concept of text module, and assign text module to text fields. and give the condition that if language is arabic than text module will be executed.
i  did in adobe forms , you can find that one in **************** , click on tutorials , click on adobe forms and select with use of text modules.
