Archieve Notifications & retrieve Maintenance Notification

Dear Friends,
I could able to archive Maintenence order and also able to retrive the same in display mode after archieve(minimum fields). Similarly i have also archieved Notifications but unnable to retrive for maintenance Notification view. Only table view is possible. Kindly help me.

If not, then search TCode SE37 with BAPI

we archive material master record so that we don not want the unnecessary data to be stored in the system and want to reduce the data in system.
if you want to search for the material which is already archived you will get message that it has been archived or not created.
there are certain procedures to retrieve the archived data. please search it on SDN you will get links.

Display archived equipments

Hi,
I was be able to archive a equipment (archive object PM_EQUI) and I use transaction SARE (archive info structure SAP_PM_EQUI) to display. But the display of the information is with report tree and tables....it's not very "user-friendly". Is this the right way to display an archived equipment?
The thing is to dispay an archived maintenance order, IW33 can be used ("Archive: Order Originals" is displayed in the IW33) and information is displayed in a more friendly way : is there a way to display an archived equipment in a similar manner?

it is not possible to get the display of the archieved equipments or maintenance orders as many of the table are cleaned off with the data.

SUP use own RFC Function module

Hello there,
I wanted to create my own RFC Function Module to get a list of purchase orders. So I could use my FM to create a MBO in Sybase WorkSpace. But I've got a problem, whenever I want to add a new MBO and start searching for my own FM, it can't find my Function Module....
How can I use my FM in SUP workspace ?

Hello,
I have basically the same Problem.
I developed a function module to retrieve maintenance orders from the SAP System.
Therefore I created a package and assigned it to the PM (Plant Maintenance) application component.
Now when I connect to the SAP Server in the SUP WorkPlace, there is only one folder called "Application Components". In its subfolder "Plant Maintenance" I can't find my own function modules.
Do I have to search somewhere else or is there anything else I have to do first?

Problem in creation of Maintenance Notification.

Hi All,
I have a requirement to create a maintenance notification through BAPI. When I tried to create it by bapi 'BAPI_ALM_NOTIF_CREATE' , I am having one issue.
Whenever we create a notification by T-code 'IW21' there is one flag for 'Put in Progress' which changes the phase of notification from 'Outstanding' to 'In Progress'. But whenever I am creating with the help of BAPI this notification is deirectly going to 'In progress' Phase. I have checked all the parameters of this BAPI but didn't found any such flag.
So If anybody have solution like how to create initially notification in Outstanding phase and later if we need to change it how to change it, please help me out.

Creation of maintenance order from notification

Hi experts,
Is there any standard settings available by which I can block to create maintenance order from a notification until & unless it's system status is "NOPR"?i.e when the system status of notification is OSNO ,system should not allow to create maintenance order.
Also in notification front page under TAB 10\TAB01(Notification1), I want to populate activites under screen area 015(item+cause) like object part,damage, cause code as my users do not want to enter the activities under tab 10\Tab12(Activities) due to the complexity it containes.

Hi Rajib,
First one:
Create a user status profile for the notification . In the initial status make it forbidden for the create of order. So as soon as you create the notification system will set to the initial status and will make it forbidden to create order at OSNO.
You have to assign this status profile to the notification type you want to do. Further you can make status profile in auhtorization control also.
refer the config path: Maintenance and Service Processing ->>Notification Processing>>User Status for Notifications>>Define Status Profile.
Second one:
In the config path
Maintenance and Service Processing>>Maintenance and Service Notifications>>Overview of Notification Type
select the notification type you want to include the activity code in the header data. click on Screen Structure for Extended View >> selec the 10\TAB01 add the 045 in the screen area , most possible it will be at 10\TAB01

Skip the Creation of Maintenance Notification

I would like to know the effect if i will skip or remove the process of creation of Maintenance notification in SAP PM. The process will start with the creation of Order, if there's an external service required the Maintenance Order will be converted into PO if no external service or material will close the Order.
Since the Creation of Maintenance Order will generate Notification, we were thinking that creation of Notification is redundant if the system allows to create order and notification in one transaction.
What would be the effect of this, thanks and God bless.

As the experts, who had already answered observed, this is purely a business process consideration. If your (Client's) organization supports a "streamlined" process in which direct Order creation is beneficial you can go for it.
As you've written "Since the Creation of Maintenance Order will generate Notification, we were thinking that creation of Notification is redundant if the system allows to create order and notification in one transaction." I assume you are still using Notification and Order integration. But as Yogesh Dhokne mentioned, this is optional as well.
If you choose to create a Notification in the background, you can still register breakdown times for MTTF/MTBF calculations, Catalog Codes for tracking and any additional information once the Orders are created.
But consider this: How is work requested, released for execution and reported? If you only create Orders, you have only Orders to go on. Therefore, you might require more verbose User Status management, and you may find yourself with Orders that are being created unnecessarily and have to be closed, Orders being released prematurely... You have to have a very "flat" process around this immediate Order creation.
On the other hand, consider that having Notifications created prior means a more "deep" process and more overhead, but you can have a step to filter works to be released on the Notification level before Orders are created, if you have more than one Notification for the same work, you can assign it to a single Order, and you have more options when designing roles and authorizations, since you can separate access and business transactions for Notifications and Orders for your Operations and Maintenance users, if necessary.

Automatic Creation of Maintenance Order from Notification

I need an opinion. I have a scenario where i am required to create a maintenance order automatically from a notification. I want to know the best way of doing it. Can it be done by configuration in the node> Notification processing>Define follow up actions for tasks, where based on a open status of task an order can be automatically created.
Please let me know the best way to do it.

in Customization >Plant Maintenance & Customer service>Maint & Ser Processing>Maintenance & Service Notifications>Notification Processing>Additional function>Define follow-up actions for tasks;
Here I am creating a follow-up action for a task as create order and thought of assigning an order create function module ALM_ME_ORDER_CREATE with modifying the subrc parameters with some return values. Can it be done this way? I am asking because I am not very sure as to what is the best way to acieve it. I want to achieve this min minimum development.
Please explain in detail.

Creation and selection of Notification types through Maintenance order

All,
When i create a notification through the order, while giving the notification type in F4 selection, only i could able to see S1,S2 &S3 notification types. Neither i could see the other standard notification types nor the custom notification types configured in the selection. Also we didnt include any notification types in the personal list in selection.
Can somebody throw ideas about this behaviour ?

The custom notification types have been configured for the notification category 01 which is maintenance notification. But the order type through which the notification i am creating is activated with service profile.
I guess, this could be the reason, if it is, is it any other way to bring the custom notification types as mentioned above ?

Search option in catalog selection in maintenance notification item, object

Dear Experts,
I have a problem to search & choose the relevent catalog codes in maintenance notification item, in catalog selection pop up when F4 done on object part. Is there any setting to find the relevent codes from the cataloge selection screen or any setting for the FIND option availabilty on the catalog selection pop up.
We are using ECC 5.0.
Kindly provide the solution.

Tushar,
Your emphasis is on Relevant Codes. This means codes relevant to the Technical Object (Equipment or Functional Location)
For this purpose only SAP has given the functionality Catalog Profile.
Create a Catalog Profile (OQN6) in which you mention the codes relevant to the technical object.
Now mention this Catalog Profile in the Organisation tab of the Technical object. (Equipment or Functional Location).
After this whenever you create a notification on such Equipments/FLs, you will get only those catalogs which you've mentioned in the Catalog Profile

PS: Creating a catalog Profile is a IMG activity, which you have to do in Client 200> generate a request> and transport this request to the client of your working.

Maintenance order created through notification

Hi experts,
I have created one maintenance order through maintenance notification. In the order text description instead of notification text description it is taking long text which I have entered in subject description of notification.
Is there any settings available for this? what may be the problem?

Pls try the the following :
Go to SPRO->Plant Maintenance and customer service->Maintenance and service processing->Maintenance and service orders->Functions and settings for order types->Define Notification- and order Integration. There u'll find a check box Long Text against your order type. If you are getting the notification Long text Description in your order Header, it must be checked. Uncheck it. Save it.

DBM Notification Vehicle Information is not retrieved

I have tried to create a Notification from Vehicle Master (T-code: /DBM/VSEARCH). However, the vehicle information as well as the customer number is not retrieved to the Notification.
Please advice if I have left out any configuration.

please check the function module /DBM/CU16_GET_QMEL.
check with a breakpoint that the field GS_VIQMEL-/DBM/VHGUID is filled with the vehicle guid.
Later this is used for example on the reference objects screen via FM
FUNCTION /dbm/cu17_ue_sapmiwo0_009.

Hope, notifications tasks are not defined through task list, but through catalogs tasks.
If its correct, you can't do copy from notification to order in standard. Check below exit.
IWO10021 Automatic task list transfer when creating order from notif.
