Architect Certification

Hey.
Was thinking of doing the J2EE Enterprise Architect Certification from Sun. I dont usually bother with such things, but I have some time on my hands, so thought it might be worthwhile.
Anyone here bother with that?
Any feedback from someone who's done it?
Any links to decent resources?
Thanks!

I did it back in 1999. It was just a test then, like the programmer certification
A friend of mine went through the updated process that required a UML design, more like the developer certification. It looked like a decent problem, and he worked hard on it. He's a talented developer, so the architect cert process helped him with nomenclature and using UML.
I don't feel like an architect cert has made me what I'd call an architect. I think I still have a lot to learn about how to design and implement large systems well in a group setting. JMO - MOD

  • Architect certification for beginners

    Hi Guys,
I want to have a proper TCP(technical career path) for next 5 years. I have experience of 5 years in Java and oracle technologies. Now I am looking for a promising career path- in architect field. I am new to this area. I have done all technical kind of work till date. Now moving to next level will require a lot of study and effort, but I want to put my efforts on a proper certification.
Could you please suggest me few certifications for beginner in technical architect field?
    Thanks,
    Jas

    Hi, welcome to the forum!
There is one Java Architect certification, but it is not a beginner level certification:
It is the Oracle Certified Master, Java EE 5 Enterprise Architect certification: http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=458&get_params=p_track_id:JEE5EA
One idea is to study and take the Java EE Developer certifications first, get enough experience and then later go to the Java EE Architect certification, or go straight to it. The latter approach will take more time, but may be more related to what you want.

  • Enterprise Architect Certification

We want to send some peoplefrom our organisation for Enterprise Architect course and CErtification. We do not want to send for vendor specific certification. We are lookign for generic certification which is recognized by everyone.
Can you suggest some good generic Enterprise ARchitect certification.
    Thanks in advance,
    Abdul Raheem S

    Hi,
Go for Togaf 9 certification, this comes into 2 level.
    Level -1 : foundation.
    Level -2:  Practioner.
either you can step by step or in single go.
5 days course will cost you approx. 2000 Euro (check with training provider as cost may vary). Level-1 can be done by self study and foundation guide is also available and will cost you around 23 Euro.
Togaf is very generic and focus on procedure rather than deliverables whereas Zachman focussed on deliverables, so most of the organization use comibation of both to design their own EA practice/framework.
Since SAP EAF is based on Togaf so it is worth if you are into SAP services as well.

  • BEA vs SUN architect certifications

    Hi guys,
does anyone know whether the "BEA certified architect" (now rebranded to "Oracle SOA Architect Certified Expert") includes the "SUN Certified enterprise architect"?
A company requires the SUN certification, a candidate has the BEA one but says that Oracle ensures that the BEA one includes the SUN one, does someone know whether this statement is true?
    thanks a lot.

  • Any sample Questions for BEA Enterprise Architect certification..

I am a certified BEA's Enterprise architect aspirant. However I have no idea about the kind of question which might be asked there.
Anyone who has taken this certification before or know what kinda questions may be asked in there.. please share :)
I have about 5 yrs of experience in web technologies with about 1-2 yrs in Weblogic. Also, I have recently cleared Sun'd SCWCD1.4. Can anyone tell me if this qualification is good enough to take a shot at BEA's arch test :)
    Thanks in advance.

  • Experience regarding the "SAP Associate Enterprise Architect"certification

    Hi
I would appreciate some input from someone who has taken the above mentioned certification.
Is the Curriculum sufficient and (roughly) how much preparation is needed before besides the various courses before the certification?
    Kind regards
    Simon

passing for this exam requires a broad and thorough understanding of various aspects of eSOA and SAP-products combined with essential architecture skills. it is a pretty new exam, first announced at TechEd 07. too many failed the exam here in the Netherlands, earlier this year. SAP gave those people a second chance.

  • A CERTIFICATION Question

I am a Network Administrator in the military, so I am not really certified, just military trained. Now when I get out of the military I want to pursue this career and I need to be certified so please give me a list of good certifications that will get me the good money. I want to be a Systems and Network Administrator. I am currently taking MCSE courses, and pursuing a associates degree in IT computer science.

An MCSE is a great start. Not to discourage the earlier suggestion of a CCIE, but a Systems/Network admin is more focused on back-end systems integration and support (primarily NOS stuff and campus level infrastructure) while a CCIE's are typically network architects or consultants. In my experience, the following certifications in addition to your MCSE will make you a very well rounded and marketable high-end systems administrator or engineer and get you big $$$ (ofcourse you will still need experience with all the different technologies but that's a given):
#1 - Certified NetWare Engineer (CNE) Certification:
the exams you need to take are...
    50-653 NetWare 5.1 Administration v2.0 (Course 560)
50-632 Networking Technologies (Course 565) - * You can waive this course with a MCSE certification *
    50-654 NetWare 5.1 Advanced Administration (Course 570)
    50-659 NDS Design & Implementation 2.0 (Course 575)
50-658 Service and Support (Course 580)
50-669 Integrating Novell eDirectory and Windows NT (Course 555)
Get more info on CNE @ http://www.gocertify.com/certification/CNE.shtml and http://technology.monster.com/articles/novellcert/
    # 2 - Citrix Certified Adminsitrator (CCA) Certification:
Need to pass Citrix Certified Administrator for MetaFrame XP Exam
    Get more info on CCA @ http://www.gocertify.com/certification/CCA.shtml , http://technology.monster.com/articles/citrix/ and http://certcities.com/editorial/features/story.asp?EditorialsID=37
    (another good article is http://www.citrix.com/press/news/releases/20011031_salary.asp)
    # 3 - Cisco Security Specialist 1 Certification:
The tests you need to pass are...
    CCNA Exam 640-607
Managing Cisco Network Security (MCNS) (640-442)
Cisco Secure PIX Firewall Advanced (CSPFA) (9E0-571)
Cisco Secure Intrusion Detection System (CSIDS) (9E0-558 or 9E0-572)
    Cisco Secure VPN (CSVPN) (9E0-570)
Get more info on Security Specialist @ http://www.gocertify.com/certification/CiscoSecuritySpecialist1.shtml and http://technology.monster.com/articles/cisco/
    # 4 - CompTIA IT Project+ Certification:
    Must pass Exam #PK0-001-IT Project+
    Get more info @ http://www.gocertify.com/certification/ITProjectplus.shtml
#5 (Optional) - any SAN related certification, here are two examples...
MASTER ACCREDITED SYSTEMS ENGINEER - SAN Architect Certification:
Microsoft MCSE or NetWare 5 CNE + ASE tests + MASE tests
    (Details @ http://www.compaq.com/certification/na/mase_san.html)
Fibre Channel-SAN (FC-SAN) Certification (better, vendor nuetral):
Level 1 - Fibre Channel Storage Networking Professional
Level 2 - Fibre Channel Storage Networking Practitioner
Level 3 - Fibre Channel Storage Networking Specialist
Level 4 - Fibre Channel Storage Networking Expert
    (more information @ http://www.ciscoworldmagazine.com/monthly/2001/10/snia.shtml and http://www.snia.org/education/certification/)
I think these certs will provide a good base for you to speacialize with and keep you very marketable for the next 3 - 4 years easily. Hope this helps.

  • Reg ESOA certification

    Hi All,
I am preparing for CERTIFIED ASSOCIATE SAP ENTERPRISE ARCHITECT certification with ESOA 100 and ESOA 200.
Can anyone provide me the link for getting VM100 , EA100 and SOA010 materials.
I tried searching the forum too but with little luck.
Also if anyone had attended the above exam, kindly share the experience.
    BR,
    Krishna.

    Hi,
For SOA lot of stuff available in form of articles and blog on SDN and standard SAP presentation which will cover SOA100 part to certain extent.
For SOA200 I suggest to read Togaf 9 guide www.togaf.info approx 40% of questions will come from this section. For rest you need to read SAP EAF related articles and blogs.
Since this test doesn;t test technical skills related to products hence it is difficult to certify without actually reading SOA200.

Un superviseur local m’a fait le retour qu’après redémarrage du PC ce dernier indiquait un problème, avec photo pour descriptif. Je n’ai pas plus d’info pour le moment.
