Architecture of Analyzer deployment

Can somedoy write about the architecture of deploying Hyperion Analyzer. Including windows clients, and web clients.ThanksAl Lal

Hi Al,Analyzer 5.03 features 3 different client options. - Windows executable client - Java Applet client - HTML clientAll three clients can use a centralized Enterprise RDBMS Repository. The Java Applet requires a server to run the Analyzer NT service, and the HTML client requires the deployment of a DLL on a either an IIS or a Netscape web server.Analyzer 6.1 is an Enterprise Java Application which runs in the context of a J2EE Application Server. This release also features an enterprise rdbms repository. The "client" is a highly customizable server-based application which presents within the context of a web browser.regards, robb

• Need architecture guide to deploy OSB & OBPM with SOA?

Hi ,
Is there architecture guide available for OSB + OBMP with SOA?
Thanks & Regards,
Noman

Hi:
The one I know is http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/core.1111/e12036/overview.htm#sthref10
Now in 11.1.1.3 u can have SOA, BPM and OSB within the same Weblogic Domain, so the diagrams that u will find in the link can be extended with one additional Managed Server depicting OSB.
BPM is on top of the SOA Infra, so u already have it there,
hope that helps

• OSD Architecture from SCCM 2012 R2

We have happily run SCCM 2012 SP1 for years. In SP1 all of our OSD task sequences used an x86 boot image and based on its collection membership would load 64 or 32 bit Windows without a hiccup.
This weekend we upgraded to 2012 R2. After the upgrade, I made new boot images for each architecture with matching driver sets as I always have. After doing this we assigned all of the OSD task sequences to the newly created x86 boot
images.
The problem is that now only 32 bit windows works in these same task sequences. If you attempt to load a 64 bit OS, the machine will BSOD and die immediately after the OS is applied. If you flip the assigned boot image to our new x64, the 64 bit machines,
load just fine but obviously, this configuration will kill any attempt to load a 32 bit OS.
Long story short is prior to upgrading the interoperablility of x86 boot images applied and now we seem to be limited to having to match the boot image architecture with the OS which sucks.
Any ideas?

The architecture of the boot image should have absolutely nothing to do with the architecture of the deployed operating system if you are using a BIOS-based device.
Have you started researching the blue screen? If you own MDOP, you can analyze the memory dump with DART. Or, googling the stop error should get you started.
If it turns out the driver injection steps aren't working as expected, you'll want to post logs.
It wouldn't hurt to try updating both of your boot images again. It could be that something went wrong when building the x86 one that is causing the inject drivers step to fail.

• 64 bit and 32 bit architecture

Hello,
I've been trying to understand the principal of MDT 64bit architecture and MDT 32 bit architecture.
The architecture refers to the WIM boot image I'm adding to WDS (Boot image: Add Boot image) or to the MDT? If to MDT in what manner?
The reason I'm asking is that I need to inject a package (Microsoft windows fix:
kmdf-1.11-Win-6.1-x64.msu)
to my image (according to this site) to fix a problem I'm having. When running the command and trying to
inject the 64bit fix, the command fails, and when doing the same thing, but with the x86 fix, the operations succeed.
So i guess my environment is 32
bit, but I don't understand why for the OS
I capture is 64 bit OS, My WAIK is 64bit.
When performing what the site suggested (link above), I mount the WIM from my capture folder. Should I perform this on the WIM file from the DeploymentShare\Boot folder?
This question link to another issue I'm having, when trying to open the unattend.xml file from within the MDT TS (TS - OS Info - Edit Unattend.xml) I'm getting an error, when looking for a solution on the net I encounter a solution where I need to open the
'Windows System Image manager' from the WAIK installation, add the windows image
i want and make the xml
i want, but then I'm getting an error saying I cannot add 32 bit xml to 64
bit (or vice versa).
Thanks a lot

Hi,
I think it doesn’t matter which MDT architecture to use. It does matter the system architecture you are deploying.
According to your description, you are trying to deploy windows 7 x64 version which is captured form another computer. I guess you chose the wrong boot image. In case any
problem occur, use an original windows 7 x64 image. You can find boot.wim in sources folder.
I recommend you use WSIM to create the unattended file, you won’t make any mistake with it.
Hope this helps.

• Solution Architecture Diagram for an Internet, Intranet Scenario

Can someone point me to a link which has a typical solution architecture diagram (logical, deployment, anything) for a SharePoint 2013 Internet/Intranet scenario.

Hi SP Dev101,
For Internet and Intranet, There is no functional difference between them. They represent different logical paths to gain access to the same sites in a web application.
To understand the connection between them,
the article A guide to Alternate Access Mappings Basics in SharePoint 2013 is
very useful.
An eBook for
how to create a test lab containing intranet and team sites in a SharePoint Server 2013 three-tier farm you can have a look.
Also a good book named
Microsoft SharePoint 2013: Designing and Architecting Solutions you can refer to.
Finally I recommend you watch the video
Real world SharePoint 2013 architecture decisions which is based on real world implementation experience.

• [BO XI 3.1] BO Designer not starting after installing SP5

Hello All!
I installed SP5 on top of BO XI 3.1 SP3 (Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit) on server. There is an issue that Designer is not starting. The process designer.exe shows up in "Task manager" for 1-2 second and disappear. No entries in Event Viewer and in BO logs. I also installed SP5 on client desktop machine and the same happens.
Do you have any tips/advices? Thanks for that!
Bartosz

Hello,
we are not aware of such type of problem and it is most likely something peculiar to the configuration or architecture of your deployment.
I would analyze trace logs from Designer and from Process Monitor ( [http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645] )
My advice is to open a support message because is a complicated investigation that probably will need some remote support as well
Thanks

• Error while Saving Workbook in BEx

Hi Experts,
When ever I am trying to same a workbook, I get the following error:
"workbook format .xlsm is not supported by the server"
Does anyone of you faced this error earlier ? Please suggest. I am working on SAP Netweaver 2007 and have MS Office 2007 installed in my system..
Best Regards,
Rishi

Hi,
Please let me know if you are opening the workbook in 3.5 Analyser. If
then unfortunately Business explorer Analyzer 3.x is not supporting the
new file-format. Please refer to note 1052761. If you would like to use
new office 2007 file format you need to use Bex Analyzer 7.0. Due to
the architecture of Analyzer 3.x this behaviour cannot be changed.
BW Support Package lower than SP16 it is not
possible to save files in Excel 2007 file formats on the server. But you
can still save files from Excel 2007. When using the SAP Default
Workbook please set the flag "Use XLS file format" as defined in note
1267924. If you create workbooks from scratch ensure that Excel creates
new files in XLS format (in the Excel options).
Afterwards you are able to save files with Excel 2007 in XLS file
format. The new Excel 2007 file formats require the implementation of
the latest BW Support Package.
If you are interested in saving workbooks in xlsm format you have to
use at least SP16 and a recent FEP (e.g. FEP801). But it is
not correct that it will work also when you implement the notes on a SP
level which is older then SP15, as then other corrections are missing.
And these points, I am afraid, cannot be downported to a Support package
less than SP15.
Therefore I have to ask you to import furhter SPs. Then I am pretty sure
that it will work.
Please check also note 1055581 ... where you find the info that
we recommend to use at least SPS15 (which is BW-SP17).
Thanks,
Venkat
So as mentioned above you can still save files from Excel 2007. When
using the SAP Default Workbook please set the flag "Use XLS file format"
as defined in note 1267924. For saving the workbook in the new file
format(xlsm) you need atleast SP16. The latest Sp being SP20, I suggest
you to look for an upgrade.

Hello Nageshwar,
the likely root cause of this issue is the lack of permissions for the user on the shadow instance.

Is that Port 443 opened? check the fire wall.
is that external Lync clients are logging in with out any issues.

• Error JBO-33003 ADF Business component as an EJB remote

Hi,
I need to deploy an ADF application (model in business component and view in ADF Faces) in a multi-tier architecture. I deployed the MODEL project (bc4j) in an OAS’s OC4J instance. Now, when I try to test de application I get the following error:
oracle.jbo.ConfigException: JBO-33003: Connection name <my_conn_to_oas> not defined.
Also, I tried to connect to de EJB session from my VIEW project, so I changed the file DataBindings.cpx. I changed the line Configuration="AMProyectosLocal" to Configuration="AMProyectosAS_DS".
When I run the view project I get the same error:
500 Internal Server Error

What is the problem?
Where can I find the process to deploy in a multi-tier platform?
Please, help me.

Thank for your help.
I reviewed the datasource configuration and it is Ok.
The connection’s name isn't a datasource name. It is the connection’s name to the APPLICATION SERVER. I reviewed the bc4j.xcfg file and it has the following definition:
<ConnectionDefinition name="AppServerPenny">

{904}05B4D7F42A8C91433599EDC9FDE9B9B249A698997ABBAAAD13

</ConnectionDefinition>
Why does the test utility not found the AppServerPenny connection?

Hi,
Please make sure there is no typos in the URL rewrite rule.
You can configure IIS ARR to display more information with the error with the following path:
Open IIS Manager –> Sites –> Default Web Site –> Error Pages –> Edit Feature Settings.
Select Detailed error
Then you can access simple URL again to check the full error message.

• How to make plugins of plugins

Hey all,
This article (https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-19176) does a decent job of walking through how to use plugins with a packed project library (PPL) system. I'd like to go a little further, if possible. How does one make plugins of plugins? For example, if I have a fruit plugin interface, I might have a banana plugin, apple, rasperry, etc. I then would want to make some plugins for the banana plugin -- peel, taste, eat. I may want taste and eat for apple, as well as juice for raspberry. Is this wonderful mess even possible? My current thought would be to just make a generic fruitAction plugin interface and have a fruit's actions stored within a subfolder of that fruit.
Any suggestions welcome,
Nathan
Solved!
Go to Solution.

Nathan,
point of a plugin is to specify a "generic" operation to a specific use case. So in your example, you have the problem that the abstraction layer cannot provide a generic function which is specified by the plugin.
Of course, by some obscure and over-engineered approach, you might be able to solve a setup as you like. Still, i recommend you to provide only a single layered abstraction in the context of design. Of course, implementation can "stack" this. So in your second example, "Fruit" would provide generic operations on ALL kind of fruits without any implementation. Depending on the specific fruit, you would either leave the operation as dummy (no override) or add an override which indicates something like "This operation doesn't make sense with this type of FRUIT". For other fruit, you would add an override like "YAMYAM, tasty!"....
Norbert
PS: Please note that i haven't discussed any "architectural design for deployment" here. So the question starts for "one lvlibp" or "several"? But as you already quoted Michael Lacasse's Community Entry, you know where to find useful information
CEO: What exactly is stopping us from doing this?
Expert: Geometry
Marketing Manager: Just ignore it.

• Differences between Developer versions

Can someone pls differentiate features between different
developer versions?
rgds
Win Htut

Difficult to answers (in terms of listing all the features) but
with each new version you get more functionality.
You should try and keep up (if possible) with the latest support
version so you can get all the new features.
e.g.
forms 4.5 - GUI, Web deployment
forms 5 introduced Object Libraries.
forms 6 new PL/SQL version - new built ins
Forms 6i - new features - new architecture for web deployment,
Java Importer,
Forms 9i (coming soon) - new debugger, easier Java bean
integration, new translation tool, etc etc
