Architecture of (auto) migrated apps

Hi all,
I would really appreciate if I can get some answers from successfully migrated Forte->Java apps. I'm specifically looking for apps that ended up with Web based frontend i.e. JSP/Servlet/JSF or the like.
1. Are there any automated tools that converts to Web based frontends?
2. Even if not automatically converted i.e. done by hand, what was the eventual frontend architecture?

Auto hosted apps

The Office 365 Autohosted App Preview program has ended ......
Now, a permanent NAG message is displaying when starting each and very auto hosted app. We are working hard on migrating and have been since May 2014. Technical issue have caused us delay but we are now on track of migrating to provider hosted. The message
now popping up is irritating our paying customers that have no way to get rid of it. As we are very aware, please MS turn off this useless message.

What will be steps and plan for this?
Though I know auto hosted apps are deprecated but how these web parts were
implemented as auto hosted apps? Plz share steps. Actually now understand creating apps but don't know how to create apps to show functionality
of server side above mentioned web parts?

Request for an auto sig app

can someone pleaseeee make an auto sig app for the pre please!!! I really like autosignatures and the pre doesn't support it. And I'm sure alot of other people would download it so you might make a little money for your time so long as the price isn't outrageous. Please help I want an autosig!!!!!

I wish I could set app updates, in iTunes, to auto-download every hour when available just like my podcasts do. Am I overlooking some way to do this or is this really a wish-list feature?

It is not possible, I assume due to certain apps charging for updates (as will be the likely case for sat-nav map updates etc). This is why iTunes requests your password for confirmation that you want to install the update, whether it is free or chargeable.
What I would like to see is the option to reject an update! That way, if you don't want to pay to update an app, you can remove the notification spot on your iPhone and in iTunes!

Auto-hostep app with custom master page does not allow custom workflows

This has been troubling us all day. We have a sharepoint 2013 auto-hosted app. We wanted to simply change the site logo of the master page but it was easier said than done. Finally we had to create our own custom master page with our own site logo to overcome
this issue.
Now we are trying to add a custom workflow in our app. But the instalment of the app always fail with this message:

After many hours of searching I came across this
post that sums up the problem to this:
Do not use the WebTemplate element in the app manifest to designate any of the built-in SharePoint site definition configurations as the app web's site type. We do not support using any of the built-in site definition configurations, other than APP#0, for app webs.
Thus, if you would like to include your workflow to SharePoint-hosted app, you have to use APP#0 template.
I am fairly new to the sharepoint 2013 app development and having so many problems just because we wanted to have a different site logo is making us focus out of the important stuff of our app. Isn't there a simple way for us to change the app's site logo
and add a custom workflow? Has anyone come up with a solution?

Have you configured SharePoint Workflow Manager in the farm? Not sure if you are familiar with but in SharePoint 2013, there's a new component called Workflow Manager that needs to be configured to use SharePoint 2013 workflow.

I am using SharePoint Online. I have enabled the following site feature:
Workflows can use app permissions
Allow workflows to read from and to write to all items in this site.
just in case but it makes no difference. When I stop using my custom masterpage the app can install just fine and the workflow is working. When the custom masterpage is enabled the app won't install with the workflow. I am required to remove the workflow
to install the app.

But what does it mean for a client to develop new project? Should they create a new auto hosted apps or not?

Google needs to update the Google Toolbar program for Firefox 5.0.

Auto-update apps not working !

I have sony xperia z3 compact and after I upgrade it to lollipop the auto-update apps over wi-fi didn't work! and no notifications for updates at all !
any suggestions ?

Have you checked the google play app? Try to clear data and force stop it under settings-apps-all. Set it up again.

Disk confguratiob for jms auto migration

We are using cluster of weblogic 11g on Linux. currently we are not using shareable disk.
We are about to to use auto-migration of jms. can you please elaborate on what is the restriction in regard to the shareable disk.
- can we use NFS ?
- what about locking ?
Do you have other recommendation ?

Hi,
There are two levels of locking with respect to migration and file stores. The first is that the WebLogic migration leasing machinery ensures that only one instance of a particular store can run at a time in a cluster. The second is that the file store itself uses "fcntl" to lock the file itself, so, in the event that two store instances, from say two different domains, attempt to open the same file, the problem is detected and second instance is locked out. You should rarely see the second check fire off in practice - it's mainly intended to guard against administrative error.
Your question about NFS is a good one. It's only recently (within the last few years) that NFS has become stable enough for WebLogic to consider it as "enterprise" safe, and, and I'm not sure if this extends to all vendors and all versions. It's definitely helpful if you can use NFS v4, as the NFS v3 standard's file locking support has problematic limitations. Also, it's absolutely required that your NFS mounts/servers be configured to properly support safe synchronous writes (otherwise data is likely to be lost in the event of a crash or hardware failure).

How do I migrate apps from an old iphone if I didn't back them up?
I created a backup of my iphone 5s just before activating my iphone6. But I chose not to back up the apps to my computer because at the moment I was thinking of my MBA's hard disk space. Now that Im restoring the backup to my new phone, I get an itunes message saying 64 apps were not installed on my phone because the apps could not be found.
The phone is still restoring photos. What can I do to get those apps on my phone without having to re-install them manually?

Ok, I have my old iphone5s and my new iphone6.
I have apps on my iphone5s, i haven't erased anything.
One of those for example is iBank.
I connect the iphone5s to my mac, in iTunes I select the phone, click on Computer backup "This computer" and click on Backup now. Itunes says its backing it up and finishes.
Now I unplug the iphone5s and plug in the iphone6.
It starts to sync but then gives me an error saying some apps were not installed:
The games I don't care about, but iBank I do, there is also a company erp app. Those are the only 2 I really need to have back on my new phone. No matter how many times i backup the old, it just won't find the apps. Why?

Help! iTunes auto-downloading apps I don't use anymore

I don't want iTunes to re-download Broken Sword and Asphalt 5 for the iPad/iPhone. My iTunes is sync'd with my Dropbox and it wastes like a GB of space between the two of them. I have it unchecked in the store section of iTunes to automatically download apps. But after syncing my iPhone they start to download EVERY TIME. Drives me nuts. I've deleted, unchecked the box that says to auto download, etc. I don't have them on my devices either. I will never ever play those games again even though I paid for them. What can I do to have it quit doing that?

try sending an email to the iTS customer service using this form and ask the folks there to remove the item(s) from your download queue.
