Archive/delete calendar dates to create space

I am running out of room on my Z22 and have been trying to free up some space.  It seems I have calendar dates on there from 1970's and beyond.  Can I archive these or delete them and keep the last couple of years on my Palm?  I found the Purge option but the longest setting is 1 month and I go back frequently to previous dates.
Thanks for any help!!

If you don't have any information before 2005 then it's not taking up any memory. You would need to change it instead to another date. Example June 2007.  The thirty years of Calendar space is always going to be there but again, it doesn't use up any memory unless there is appointments sced. Only your data uses up memory. I thought you were saying you had data (events) back to 1970.

  • Mavericks upgrade forced iCloud. iCloud deleted Calendars & data.

I do not use iCloud. Here is what happened when I upgraded to Mavericks.
    Backed up computer (thank God!)
    Downloaded/installed Mavericks
Installation required Apple sign-in, which signed into iCloud
Changed System Preferences after installation to disable iCloud (for Calendar, etc.)
iCloud deleted Calendar, etc. data from computer... Gone from the computer. No option to keep my data.
If I sign back into iCloud (to get my data back!) It again deletes when I turn off iCloud...
I did not choose to use iCloud, merely upgraded to Mavericks and was forced to sign in. My data was deleted from the computer. My data, my computer.
    Question:
Without restoring image backup (SuperDuper) or finding/restoring everything in Time Machine, how might I get my (kidnapped) data back from iCloud then turn iCloud off non-destructively?
I love many things Apple, but iCloud has cast a huge shadow over my love of Apple.

...and yes, I know that if I re-enable iCloud (God forbid!) that I could File->Export->Export all the Calendars, Reminders, Contacts, (hope I get everything)..... But I shouldn't have to export my own data from a single computer to protect it from an upgrade-required "feature".
So I'm hoping for an option to keep my data without having to protect myself from an upgrade...

  • "Notify after old backups are deleted. Be notified if your backup disk is full and Time Machine deletes old backups to create space for new ones."  I would prefer to be notified BEFORE things are deleted.  Can the deleted items be recovered?

    Time Machine option #2:
"Notify after old backups are deleted" Wouldn't it be better to get this notification BEFORE things are deleted? I suppose the real question is, is it possible to recover files deleted from time machine?
The bold phrase above has a checkbox. But if I leave it blank it appears that I will receive no notification at all.
I am using MacBook Pro, OS X version 10.9.5

TIme Machine is not an archival tool. And no, you won't be able to recover the files that are deleted.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately this does not work. Ps crashes within seconds of launch, so no confirmation dialog window. Holding shift-ctrl-alt and double click to launch Ps CC, loads for a second then report logs window's appear, Apple then Adobe's.

  • Can you archive old calendar items in Entourage so you don't run out of space on your Blackberry?

    Hi everyone,
I have a Sprint Pearl 8130 and I am syncing with PocketMac to Entourage 2004 on an iBook G4 running OS 10.3.
Most of my syncing issues are minor (for some reason, in contacts, work and home email addresses switch fields, but I can live with that) and I don't have too many complaints about PocketMac for now....
My question is - Does anyone know how to archive old calendar items so that my Blackberry doesn't run out of space? I have calendar items going back to the beginning of 2008.  I don't need past calendar items on my Blackberry, except for reoccurring items, like birthdays and such, and maybe a month's worth of old appointments just for reference.  My Blackberry has run out of space a couple of times and when it deletes the appointments from my Blackberry, syncing wants to either delete from the Mac or restore to the Blackberry.  I know you can do this with a Palm and their Palm software, since I used to have one and I was able to archive items older than a week.  Then you would be able to access them in a separate archive profile.
I have searched everywhere and the closest thing I can find is to purchase Missing Sync and set to match my sync date range.  https://support.markspace.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=327.  But that doesn't really solve my issue of running out of space on my Blackberry.  The other thing that I could think of is to export the calendar items into a .rge file, then delete the calendar items from there, sync, and have PocketMac remove items from my Blackberry, but it would be a pain to easily access old calendar items.
I appreciate any thoughts, ideas and especially solutions!

I have the exact opposite issue you mentioned
my client wants his archived calender items to be synched to his 8830 world wide ed.
he is running RIM software (DesktopManager) v 6.4
    BES 2007
current issue is that his archived old calendars are not synchronizing to his handheld; we tried to force his PC to synch those items manually through cable, which didn't help, since our BES policy force waireless synch policy to the device and wireless synch never can see the archived items files
I think if you can set the option on your device so it turns on the calendar wireless synch, and also make sure MAC does not select archive to synch
    Calendar > Options > General settings or /Wireless synch set to ON;
if you running BES set Calendar Wireless synch off

  • I changed email address and had to delete my account and create a new one with the new email address. When I did this i lost all of the information in my calendar. How can I recover this vital information?

My email address changed and I had to delete my account and create a new one with the new address. After I did this all of the data in my iPhone calendar is gone. How can I recover this vital data?

It is my understanding that if you delete the account per the instructions below, you will be able recreate, but you will NOT have access to the prior BBM contacts.
Read this for full information and suggestions to regain access to your BBID >> http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-World/How-to-regain-access-to-your-BBID/td-p/25467...
You have to remember either the BlackBerryID password, or the secret question answer. Without either, you're stuck.
    Your choices are:
--Use another email account to create an entirely new BlackBerryID (with which you will lose access to any purchased apps using the "forgotten" first BlackBerryID, or
--Find the initial email you were sent to confirm the initial BlackBerryID, and in it is a link to click to cancel and delete the account. Click on that, delete the account and then you can use that same email to create an entirely new account.
    Good luck.

  • 10.4.6 upgrade deleted all of my calendar data

I have managed to lose all of my calendar data, including all of my calendar on my exchange server (via entourage sync).
I didn't see the readme before I upgraded, so when I ran sync, it asked me what I wanted to do during sync. I made sure that entourage had everything current, and I chose to delete and re-create the events on my phone. That happened, but the phone ran out of juice during the sync process and powered down. iSync told me what happened, and since I didn't have the charger handy, I went on about my business.
When I synced next, iSync told me it had 620 record that needed to be overwritten, and would I like for that to happen. Assuming it meant the 620 records *on the phone*, I said yes. It then proceeded to empty entourage, my exchange server, and my phone completely. iCal kept a copy, but within a minute or two of opening it, all of that data disappeared too.
So, I suppose I'm probably out of luck, but just in case... is there any way to recover all of my calendars? No, I didn't have any backups that I know of (unless they are automatically created). This is amazingly painful, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.
    PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    Hm, yes, you are right...
    Two solutions here:
    1) plug your ipod on an other mac and get your files there
    2) before plugging your iPod:
    a. reboot your mac (make sure you start clean)
    b. remove the SyncServices folder in your Home -> Library -> Application Support
    c. reboot your mac (make sure your re-start clean )
    d. this will remove the iPod synchronization state so it won't synchronize when you plug it in.
    2) will require you to reconfigure your sync settings for all your iPods, .Mac and Palms
Still, I think 1) would be safer.

  • ICal/Calendar data deleted during sync with MM

Somehow I managed to delete the contents of nearly all my calendars last night.  They're gone on all my handhelds and from my iMac - there is still a nearly-complete copy on one of my MacBooks.  I shut off wifi on that computer until I can figure out a way to fix this.
Based on reading other Q&A, I believe that I have to either use the iCal Backup command for each calendar, delete the calendars in iCal on that MB, and then reimport them and sync with MM.  I also thought there might be a chance that I can just back up the calendar files that are in my Library, delete the calendars in iCal on the MB and reimport.  It may be possible that I could just back up the calendar files in the Library and reopen the sync to MM and see what happens - I can then force the sync to use the data that's on my computer.  I'm leery of doing that last one because I don't know what will happen when I turn wifi back on to allow the sync to happen - I'm afraid that the MM contents (now nearly empty) will wipe out the iCal information on the MB.
I think this all happened because I was syncing a large amount of data from 2Do on my iPhone to MM Calendar (or so I thought) and the latest update from 2Do had reset the default sync server address to be in iCloud.  I'm in the process of moving to the cloud, but so far all I've done is updated my iPhone and iPad to iOS5.1 (within the past couple of days).  After that sync process went on for some time, I got a sync error from either iOS5.1 or from 2Do, and in response I chose the "revert to server" option (instead of the "use the data on my computer" or whatever it said), and by that time my MM calendar was toast.  Everything was working just fine up to that moment, and I've been slowly getting ready to move to iCloud in the next day or two.  This problem won't stop that if I can get the calendars restored - I have far too much information in iCal to just ignore the matter and move on.
So my question is whether or not the process outlined in paragraph 2 above is the appropriate approach to repairing this inconvenience, or if there's a better way to do it.

    Greetings Mike,
Something has gone wrong in the sync process.
As you indicate your best set of data is on your MacBook I would suggest:
Make an iCal backup:  Click on each calendar on the left hand side of iCal one at a time highlighting it's name and then going to File Export > Export and saving the resulting calendar file to the desktop of the computer that still has calendars.
Go to me.com and add 1 new blank calendar
Delete all calendars but the 1 new blank calendar (this removes any potentially corrupt data being stored in MobileMe).
Turn WiFi back on on your Macbook and go to Calendars > Refresh All -- The calendars that were feeding from MobileMe should vanish as you deleted them from the server.
Go to File > New Calendar > MobileMe and create a new calendar for each of the ones you exported from iCal do your desktop.
Double-click each of the calendars you exported to the desktop one at a time and import them to the new calendar place holder you created for them in step 5.  Allow each calendar to import and upload to MobileMe before you go to the next calendar (this may take some time depending on your Internet connection upload speed which is traditionally low for most consumer level ISPs.)
    Side note:
Your profile here says you are running 10.6.7.  I assume you have upgraded to Lion as that is required for iCloud: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4759
If you haven't upgraded to Lion: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4949 you will want to do that before MobileMe service ends in June.  Keep in mind before upgrading you want to make sure all your commonly use Applications are Lion compatible and that you have a current backup of your data: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1427.
    Hope that helps!

  • Can we delete the archived RS tables data in unix path?

    Hi Experts
As you all know that when we perform RS table archiving we setup a Logical file path 'ARCHIVE_GLOBAL_PATH' pointing to the physical path '/usr/sap/<SYSID>/SYS/global/<FILENAME>' in unix system.
Here we have our RS table data in the unix path and this logical path will make sure that there are no problems with requests status.
Now our unix path has grown in size hence we would like to delete some archived data from this path. Could you pls confirm if we delete the data from this unix path will there be any problems with the requests status?
Simply can we delete the RS table archived data from the unix file path??
    Thanks!!

    Hi All
Any idea about this would be appreciated.
    Thanks!!

  • How to delete backup data in icloud to free up storage space?

My iphone 4s has not been backed up in 3 weeks because it says "there is not enough iCloud storage available". Through viewing the data sizes currently backed up in iCloud, the Camera Roll is taking up 99% of the space. I deleted almost everything from the camera roll and photo stream on the actual iphone device, but what do I need to do in order for the storage space to be freed? Is there another place I need to check to delete data (i.e. photos) and regain the storage space available and resume successful backups?
    Many thanks,
    SM

So by selecting "Delete Backup" it will delete everything backed up to iCloud from other apps as well, correct? Is there anywhere I can go to view the actual data being backed up and specifically delete certain data? Without knowing exactly what has been backed up, I'm hesitant to delete everything.

  • I want to free up pc disk space. Can i delete app data/files from my pc now I use iCloud??

    Hi
I have not been able to find a relevant thread, if there is one please direct me.
Sorry if my use of jargon/process is not that clear.
    I am using iCloud.
Can I, and how do I, delete app data from my laptop and keep all apps running normally and still on my ipad and ipod as they currently are?
My computer is overflowing and I see iCloud as a chance to clear some hard disk space.
If i delete the apps from my itunes browser on PC then it deletes them from my entire Itunes account. Can I just go into my itunes folder and delete the base application files?
If I remove files/apps and I sync my devices using my pc for music/video/photos etc then will it pick up that the apps and app data is missing from my pc?
    Thanks in advance
    lach

Im trying to get an answer to this same question. My poor pc is almost out of hard drive space bc of all the iphone backups pre icloud. I want to know if I go into the itunes file on my pc and delete all those files will they still be safe considering they are on icloud now? Its frustrating bc I cant seem to get an answer to this question. Have you come across any information on this issue since posting this question? Thanks so much!

You must remember the code, if you can't then take the phone and proof of purchase to an Apple Store.

  • Help with PowerShell to delete a date range of Calendar meetings

I'm trying to delete all Calendar items within a date range, from a mailbox. But first I'd like to just make sure my date filter is actually working.
Here is what i HAVE working:
    Search-Mailbox ME -SearchQuery "Received:01/01/2010..03/18/2010" -EstimateResultOnly
This works, it gives me a count of all things in my mailbox
    Search-Mailbox ME -SearchQuery kind:meetings -EstimateResultOnly
This works, it gives me a count of all Meetings in my Calendar.
I reallly need now to get the date range to work in conjunction with the kind:meetings.
    How can I do that?

    Hi,
The results include the deleted meetings. I test it in my lab.
So the command to delete Calendar meetings with a date range is this:
    Search-Mailbox "username" -SearchQuery "Received:01/01/2010..3/18/2015 kind:meetings" –EstimateResultOnly -DeleteContent
    Best Regards.
