Archive Files Missing

hi
scenario is
archived log files are missing in DR site.
missing archived log files are not available in LIVE server too.
i have to recover my DR site from this scenario and make synchronise with LIVE server.
kindly provide me the solution as soon as possible.
oracle 7.3.4 and solaris 5.8
plz tell me step by step what can i do now with the commands too.
your help is most appreciatable

the following information will help you all to provide me exact solution.
please i am in very need of it.
Environment
Server Name     Server role     Server hardware     IP Address     OS      Oracle Version
Alahlia-sune2     Live Server     E450     192.5.15.1     Solaris 8     7.3.4
AlAhliav440DRS     DR server     V440     172.16.32.2     Solaris 8     7.3.4
DR Solution Description
The requirement of Al ahlia Ins. was high availability of data. As Oracle version 7.3.4 is used at Al Ahlia, some features like standby server (Oracle 8i), Dataguard (Oracle 9i) are not available in this version.
To achieve High Availability of data in Oracle 7.3.4, OCS Infotech provided the following solution.
The archive log mode was enabled on live server database. This mode facilitates to have online backup and generation of archive logs on live server. The archive logs from the live server can be copied to DR server and can be used to recover database to keep it in sync with live server database.
DR Solution Implementation
The archive logs are pushed from live server to DR server at regular intervals 6 times a day. The database on DR server is recovered on regular basis once in couple of days in order to keep it in sync with the live server. The DR server database is always kept in mount state.
In the unlikely event of unavailability of live server, the recent archive logs can be applied to database on DR server and can be opened for users to continue their work.
Technical Details
Script used for pushing archive logs to DR site Location:
/appl/oracle7/backup-scripts/archlog-backup.sh
The directory /data/arch/PROD on DR server is mounted as /drs on Live server.
The above-mentioned script copies the latest archive logs to /drs.
The script is scheduled at 12 AM, 6 AM, 9AM, 12 PM, 3 PM 6 PM in root’s crontab.
The time was decided after analyzing the number of archive logs generated and time taken to copy.
Online Backup
The online backup script:
online_backup.sh present in /appl/oracle7/backup_scripts.
Procedure to take Online_backup
Login as oracle user
# su – oracle7
$ cd /appl/oracle7/backup_scripts
Run Online_backup script by issuing the command
$ ./online_backup PROD 1
PROD - database name
The backup is taken on tape attached to Alahliav440 server.
This script deletes 2 days old archive logs after taking the online backup.

  • Archived files missed after deletion job

    Hi All,
We are generally doing the techinical archiving for some objects in ECC 6. Here for one object, write job & delete job is finished. but any how, archived file is missed before store job. There was some hardware failure.
Now, we have get them restored from backup but i am not able to access the restored files from tcode SARA to store them in our storage server. It is still showing the files as failed in Store job archive file selection screen.
I need to store those files in our storage server but archive file is not accessible from file system.
Now, please let me know, what should i do in this case.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I do a little bit of Archiving using SARA, but not any expert
We had such situations when the file was deleted from OS level while Archiving run was in progress at SARA.
What we do in such situation is to disable the existing Run in "SARA" -> Put in Archiving Object name --> click Management, click on the failed Run and "Mark it for deletion".
Start a new run for the same Archiving object, Keep the variant same ( I mean keep the selection dates same as earlier run) and start all over again with Write, delete, store etc.
I dont know how much it helps
Might be different from the scenario you might have on hand.

  • Datagaurd Environment : Archive file missing

    Hi ,
we are on oracle 11.1.0.6 , implemented Datagaurd , OS is SPARC - 64 bit.
We are transfering Log from Primary to Secondary using datagaurd and we have found a gap in the secondary Db.
On furthur analysis we came to know that one of the log files is not generated in the primary database.
To over come to this issue, apart from recreating standby database , do we have any other solution /option.
    Thanks

  • How do I install Elements for Windows 7 PC with 64 bit? Get error message - file archive part missing

We purchased Elements 12 and Premiere Elements 12 on September 7, 2014 and have tried a variety of things including searching through FAQs on the Adobe site, etc. etc. and cannot get our downloads to work. We are avid computer users and have never had problems downloading software before.
From our account under "orders" - I have tried clicking on the Akamai download manager and the Alternate Download Method on for each application with the same results.
We have a Windows 7 PC with a 64 bit operating system and Internet Explorer 11.
On all attempts we get an Adobe screen with 2 links – 1 for a file ending in .7z and a 2nd file ending in .exe.
I click on the first file and confirm the download completes at 100% (not paused, etc.) and is in the downloads folder for my user name on the PC.
I click on the 2nd link for .exe and I receive the error message below – 2nd screen shot – “file archive is missing” all folders/files must be in same folder.
So I see it’s a winzip file (as a winzip pop up folder had come up also) so I download the free version and unzip the files in the same downloads folder under my user name to try that.
I click on .exe file link again and same message. I tried copying the files directly to the downloads folder (as they all unzipped into a subfolder called PSE 12 and tried clicking on .exe again but get the same message.
For Premiere I tried the same and got same results on the 64 bit version download.
I do not know how to access the software we purchased.
Any help or advice is appreciated.
Also - if anyone knows how I can contact Adobe for a full refund so I can just buy the boxed software instead - that would be helpful as well as that is not easy to find online either.
    Thanks!
    Ariel

I get an error message saying that the quicktime installer will only work on 32 bit
The QuickTime player works on 64-bit systems. (It's a 32-bit application, but it should run fine using the standard 32-bit-on-64-bit Windows-on-Windows emulation.)
What's the precise text of your installation error message, dc? (There one or two different ones I can think of that might mention 32-bit)

  • ORABPEL-05205 Missing BPEL archive file.

I downloaded and installed Oracle BPEL Process Manager for Developer (10.1.2) ... I am following along with the QuickStart guide. I completed the creation of the myCreditFlow demo with no compilation errors or warnings. I deployed it to the localBPELserver via JDev. From the console I can see that there was an error while loading. When I click on it the error I am receiving is ORABPEL-05205 Missing BPEL archive file. It says to make sure that the process is located in the "C:\OraBPELPM_1\integration\bpelpm\orabpel\domains\default\deploy" directory... I checked and it is there. • File archive is missing?

I've downloaded Photoshop Elements several times this morning, but when I try to install it, I get a message that the "file archive" is missing.  I've never encountered this error when installing software before.  Any suggestions on how to fix it? Thx.

    Thanks for responding.
Operating system:  Windows Vista Home Edition.
    Steps:
    1. Download Photoshop Elements 10 via the licensing site. I've tried both the "Download" option and the "Download Manager" option.
    2. I've tried going to the program folder via Windows Explorer and trying to launch it from there.  I've also selected the option on the download window for the download to launch it's downloaded.  In both cases, I get this error message:
"The file archive part of Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 is missing. You need all parts in the same folder in order to extract Adobe Photoshop Elements 10. Please download all parts."
And each time, I think, "If was supposed to download, why didn't it?"

  • Missing archive file v13 download

I am getting a "missing archive file v13 elements" download and have wasted all afternoon trying to find help info on adobe web site

I've been looking all night for the solution to this problem.  I've also been looking for an actual link to Live chat with Adobe but I think that supposed option is BS.  It seems they want the general public to do their customer service for them.  Awful customer service.

The RMAN Crosscheck command only validates that what RMAN thinks is backed up really is.
The Change archivelog all validate is what you need to run when you delete archivelogs before they have been backed up by RMAN.
If you have to restore a backup that was made before you deleted the archive logs, you will not be able to perform a full recovery.
You may want to consider running just archivelog backups more often and have RMAN delete them after they have been successfully backed up. In Oracle9i Release 2, there is an option to delete the archive logs after they have been backed up X number of times in case you want the logs duplex archivelog backups.

  • Unable to get Field Names from Archived File

    Hi All,
We have a ECC 6 Ehp4 system. When i retrieve Idocs archived using SARA, the data only contains application data. There is no field names available - eg: posting date, tax code etc. Please find below the background on this issue.
I configured archiving of process idocs (status 52,12,03) from EDIDC tables. I set up the settings for Archive Object IDOC and archived the data for 15 days.
Both archiving and deletion of data from the table was successful.
I tried reading the Idoc data from Archive File using the Information System option -> Info structure (available as default for Idoc).
But the data retrieved only shows the Application data for all the segments of the IDoc. The fields for the segments like Tax Code, Posting Date etc are not available in the data. Functional teams will not be able to make sense with just the application data.
Am I missing some setting? Is there any way to retrieve the related field values also ?
    Please help.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Raghavan

    Hi All,
There is tcode WE10. You could choose if the data source is archive and also the archive session. You will get the list of segments provided. click on the segment number and you will get the data.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Raghavan

  • My challenge: recovering original iWeb files from 2010-2011 timeframe, which included a blog consisting of original postings from me and comments posted to the web from family and friends. I have the web archive files - but did not move iWeb files then.

Background:  I started this blog while living overseas and going to sea with the Navy.  Missed the opportunity to move the iWeb files with content attached from the mobile.me server to another server.  Now, I have the original web archive files - good - but not the comments added to them by family and friends - bad.
My ultimate objective is to create a hard-cover bound book of these files with the comments on the blog ... they document a rather significant experience in my family's life ... to do this, I need to recover the original files with postings.
Any thoughts or insight would be sincerely appreciated!
    Thanks, cfwnavy

You have replied to a post that is a month old now and the OP has never replied, so you are probably wasting your time here.
If you read the OP's post and my reply, you will see that he will not be able to recover his blog and neither will you.
If your Mac was stolen and you did not back up your iWeb domain.sites files, then you CANNOT get your blog back.
If you published your site to a host/server, then you can download it back onto your Mac and you will have to re-build your blog/website from scratch and re-publish, but all your replies and responses to posts will be lost and you can never get these back.
My advice would be to re-create your blog in another format such as WordPress.com which is free and don't use iWeb again.
There are plenty of alternatives out there.

  • Archive files are in XML format and not in the original format

    Hi all,
I am using a receiver file adapter with archiving option. When I look at the archive files they are in the XML converted format and not in the original flat file format received. We would like to store these files for audit purpose and it doesnt make sense to store XML files. We are in SP04. Does a note need to be applied or any other extra configurations need to be done which I might have missed? Please advise.
    -Teresa

    Hi,
    >>>Wow, the note says its fixed in SP10
but only the split is fixed not the XML messages in the archive I think (from the note)
    >>>Is there any alternative quick fix and I hate manual work
create 2 new folders - connect one of them with the file adapter and the second one remains for archives
in you normal destination folder for your files add a simple program that will check if there are any files and copy them to those two folders - this could be the fastes but obviously not the best solution I guess

  • Archive log missing on standby: FAL[client]: Failed to request gap sequence

My current environment is Oracle 10.2.0.4 with ASM 10.2.0.4 on a 2 node RAC in production and a standby that is the same setup. I'm also running on Oracle Linux 5. Almost daily now an archivelog doesnt make it to the standby and oracle doesnt seem to resolve the gap sequence from the primary. If I stop and restart recovery it gets the logfile and continues recovery just fine. I have checked my fal_client and fal_server settings and they look good. The logs after this error do continue to get written to the standby but the standby wont continue recovery until I stop and restart recovery and it fetches this missing log.
The only thing I know thats happening is that the firewall people are disconnecting any connections that are inactive for 60 minutes and recently did an upgrade that they are claiming didnt change anything:)  I dont know if this is causing this problem or not. Any thoughts on what might be happening?

It's the network that's messing up; unlikely due to firewall timeout as it waits for 60 minutes and you are switching every 15 minutes. There may be some other network glitch that needs rectified.
In any case - arch file missing/ corrupt / halfway through - FAL setting should have refetched the problematic archive log automatically.
As many had suggested already, the best way to resolve RFS issues I believe is to use real-time apply by configuring standby redo logs. It's very easy to configure it and you can opt for real-time apply even in max-performance mode that you are using right now.
Even though you are maintaining (I guess) 1-1 between primary & standby instances, you can provide both primary instances in fal_server (like fal_server=string1,string2). See if that helps.
lastly, check if you are having simiar issue at other times as well that might be getting rectified automatically as expected.
