Archive link - How use a content repository ?

Hello expert,
I have to use Archivelink to create a connection between sap and external system to store some
forms created by smartforms.
I created a new content repository on the archivelink customizing. My question is:
When I print the form, how can I make a link with external system using archivelink ?
tks a lot,
Roberto.

  • How does the content repository differ from the ECM plugin capability

    How does the content repository differ from the ECM plugin capability suh as Documentum. What are the different use cases. Which is the best to use for managing document uploads by user for association with user's personal products/services ?

    Content Repository is a standards-based, fully featured repository, included in all the editions of the Adobe Digital Enterprise Platform and Solutions. You can use it to store and access content, execute rich set of content services like search, authorization, etc. As such, it's ideally suited for all the content/document/asset-related needs of your applications. It offers the JCR API, plus access through RESTful interface and WebDAV network drive (among others). Additionally, managing content in the Content Repository makes it immediately availble for all the solutions that run of the platform.
    In essence, Content Repository is your go-to place to store and manage content in the Digital Enterprise Platform/Solutions. It is well suited to cater to your use case.
    The ECM Plugins (Connectors) are used if you have existing LiveCycle document services, and you have one of the ECM systems in your infrastructure used as archive. It allows you then to connect to such a 3rd-party system, and retrieve document for processing, as well as store them back for archiving.

  • DMS Link Table for External Content Repository

    Can someone advise in what table is the link to the External Content Repository stored, in SAP's DMS? We are able to save a document using CV01n in documentum, but are unable to determine the table in which the link to the external document id is stored.
    It is NOT in TAO01, which would be the obvious choice. Perhaps TAO01 is only used by ArchiveLink and not by DMS.
    We know that the link is stored in one of the tables in SAP, because we are able to retreive the document.
    Regards,
    Ajay

    Dear Ajay,
    please check if tables DMS_DOC2LOIO, DMS_PHIO2FILE and DMS_PH_CD1 could provide you the necessary data.
    Maybe also FM SDOK_PHIOS_PROPERTIES_GET could be usefull.
    Best regards,

  • Can Archive Link be used to store the docs from SAP R/3 to KM Repository

    Hi All,
    Could you please advice whether archive link can be used to store documents from SAP R/3 enviroment to KM Repository. I have verified the storage types that archive link can support (Like HTTP Content Server) . But i couldn't see any storage type out there which is compatible with KM Content storage.
    If it is not possible, Could you please advice is there any way to store the documents from SAP R/3 environment to KM Repository.
    Thanks,
    Sudheer.

    Hi Vivek,
    until now I haven't found a solution in detail, but some ways to verify the connection.
    I wrote about a tool that export the pdf to the filesystem, this wont be able at this time, it must developed, because a function will place the data in a sap table and from this point there we can export it on the filesystem after we've develop some abap code.
    I thought that was already available, but that what i found was the Report RSTXPDFT4 in the sap system, with this you can transfer spool to pdf and store the file in dialog on a filesystem, there will webdav be able to use, but it must be batch.
    So I search to a new way, I try to set the repository for rooms from persitence from db to fsdb, this works, but with our patch sp9 there are some errors, so i must patch it to sp 15/16 first.
    I'm able to make the netshare on windows, so the repository is reachable with an unc Path. If the report, that must be written can access such unc path (normaly thats works in the same domain) we can store the Files in the room workspace document folder an the portal synch job can make the rest. >IN the sap system there must be a table to map the rooms to the responsable folder.
    This way should be work, but it isn't fine for productive, I heard from a way to transfer the data with  java. In CRm System there should be a fnction from sap CRM_ISA_ORDER_CONVERT_TO_PDF and the isa use the java-stream to transform it in pdf, but this is nothing for me, that must be checked from a java developer, a colleague of my will check this.
    Best regards

  • How to report on statistical use of Content Repository by User or Usergroup

    Hello
    we are using content repositories to store Incoming and outgoing invoices on an IXOS content repository.
    Accounting users then display the archived documents from SAP transactions.
    Now our management wants to start re-charge the IXOS cost based on usage by SAP user.
    Is there any possibility in SAP to get statistics on the number of accesses to the content repository by Userid, or by User group ?
    Thanks
    Jo

    Hello Jo,
    Assessment - Please ask the consultants in-charge to collate information from the Link tables. (TOA01, TOA02 etc.,). Make your analysis based on SAP Business Object (Application Area) and Archiving Document Type (Specific scenario within that Application Area) to identify the volumetry.
    Decision Making - Some of the parameters which influence decision making in terms of pricing with IXOS are File Size (KBytes), File Type (PDF, TIFF, JPG etc.,), Number of Pages per File and importantly the Volume of Documents. Also, keep in mind about the growth in business expected in near future and other external factors. Another important point to consider is to know whether Data Archiving too utilizes the services of IXOS or not.

  • Linking DMS to a Content Repository for Recipe Management

    How do I link a document type to a content repository?
    This is for Recipe Management. When I look in DC10 I can see that there is a document type of RMS for Recipe Management.
    I assume this means Recipe Management is connected toDMS
    I have created a content repository ZRM using OAC0.
    How do I make the link between the document type RMS in DMS and the content repository ZRM?

    Thanks for the reply but it isn't really what I was after.
    I am only the basis guy so I am not sure of the application but my expectation is that users will save a document with a document type of RMS. This document should be saved to a Content Repository
    What you have described is how to save a type of document such as MS Word to a particular repository. I was hoping that Recipe Management documents (possibly MS Word, possibly not) would go to a Recipe Management Repository.
    There still might be the possibility that documents (possibly MS Word) for other projects e.g. packaging could be written to a different repository.
    What I am hoping for is a link from the document type RMS in DC10 to the Content Repository defined in OAC0.
    I have a suspicion this is via the category defined by OACT.
    The link from SAP DMS to Content Repository seems fundamental to me. I am surprised no one has the answer
    ...or perhaps I have completely missed the point?

  • Use Documentum Content Repository to BEA Repository

    Hi,
    I want to migrate content from BEA Repository to Documentum Content Repository. I would like to know if there are any standard API's to display content from Documentum to Portal jsp pages?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Latha

    You can use the CMSPI implemented by Documentum. But it is a separate
    license.

  • How to change content repository database

    I'm migrating a test environment from a single-server to use a separate machine for the contentdb data. I can't find how to point the contentdb middle-tier application at the new database and install the contentdb schema.
    Can anyone give me some guidance?
    Stuart

    Thanks for the help.<br><br>
    The database I'm trying to run up against is v.10.2.0.1 (MS Windows). When I try to select it from the list on OID, I get the following message from OUI. "The database you have selected is not supported for the Content DB install. Please the database which is 10.1 or higher version."<br><br>
    I note in installation guide that "Oracle Content DB requires an Oracle Database version 10.2.0.2 or 10.1.0.5", but neither of these seems to be available for a windows platform. Our previous single-server implementation used a database v 10.1.0.2 which worked OK.<br><br>
    I note also in Re: How To Guide: for installing Content DB 10.2 on 3 hosts a comment that "Content DB will install against any 10.2.x database."<br><br>

  • Link the document in content repository with gos

    Hello,
    We need to display the document created by cv01n in gos --> attachment list.
    The document gets created in cv01 and there is an attachment to it which gets stored in table DMS_CONT1_CD1. We need to display this attachment in attachment list of gos in transaction migo.
    Is it possible through configuration or we need to develop something?
    thanks in adavance,
    Beena.

    Hello Andrew,
    You can right-click in open space to the right of the bottom row of icons to change the icons. Next select MORE TOOLS. In the File Toolbar, check the box for Email and this should solve the problem. Why SAP did not default this checkbox I will never know.

  • Content Server / Content Repository / Archive Link and co.

    Hi,
    i have installed a content server on an external Windows 2003 Server Plattform using MAXDB. The Server is now running and working properly. The test of the content repositories were positive too. Now im a bit confused about all the actions which are required to make a content rep known to SAP System via Archive Link. Is it correct to start the content server service in the SCIF transaction? Do i need to perform the Archive Link Workflow and Costumizing wizard. Which tables have to be altered?
    I would  be very greatful if anyone could tell me the steps which need to be done in order to succeed.
    Thanks in advance Christian

    Hi,
    Is it correct to start the content server service in the SCIF transaction?
    Not required
    the actions which are required to make a content rep known to SAP System via Archive Link.
    Create a content repository  in OAC0 using document area Archivelink and storage type HTTP Content Server.
    To use full functionality of  Archlink, other set of Archivelink configurations required one of them e.g.OAC3 to use this repository to be used by business objects.

  • When to use the new file based content repository

    In Service Pack 4 there's a new implementation of the CMSPI interfaces which is configured by using the following implementation class:
    com.bea.content.spi.internal.FileSystemRepositoryImpl
    When should one use this new file based repository versus the existing one (configured by using the following class: com.bea.content.spi.internal.RepositoryImpl).
    I've read the edocs, but it doesn't state when to use this new one compared to the previous implementation.
    We consider using a third party content repository, but for the time being we will use the content repository provided by BEA.
    Trond Andersen, Invenia AS, +4798290811

    use the new keyword when you don't have an instance of that object in memory that you want to use.  For example...
    if you have an object already in memory that is holding a property with a "CamelQuery" object, then you can say
    var query = myobject.Query;
    however, if you have to write the query, or instantiate the object from nothing, then you need to use the "new" keyword.  A good example is SPSite object...
    if you can get a new SPSite object by either "newing one up and passing the URL" or getting the farm and getting a site from that object.
    using(SPSite site = new SPSite("url to my site"))
    now I can use site.
    //or
    SPSite = myWebApp.Sites[0];
    // this gives you site at index 0 of current webApp
    most of the time in SharePOint you will be using the "new" keyword to open site collections, and then getting your subsites from there. BE CAREFUL using the "new" keyword. If you "new" up an object that is iDisposable... you
    MUST dispose of that, but if you use that same object but it comes from the "current context", you mustn't dispose of it.
    //dispose of this by using statement
    using(SPSite site = new SPSite(<url>))
    //do stuff
    //after this bracket it is disposed.
    //do not dispose of this:
    SPSite mysite = SPContext.Current.Site;
    //unpredictable behavior can occur because you will still need references to your current site.

  • Anonymous access to the WPC pages of the Web Content repository

    During setting up access of anonymous user to Web Page Composer pages we need to use Web Content repository that is not in the Documents repository.
    As is in the note 837898 there are no prefixes for WPC pages in the URL Generator Service.
    So the an anonymous user get login screen then attempt to access any WPC pages of the Web Content repository.
    How to achieve that content in the Web Content repository get as Content Link property the value '/irj/go/km/docs/wpccontent/u2026', rather than '/irj/servlet/prt/prtroot/...'?

    Hi Vladimir
    Did you try the following from the note:
    2. Open the PCD Editor as Content Administrator: Content Administration > Portal Content > Portal Content > Portal Users > Standard Portal Users > Standard User Role > Open > Object
    a) Navigate to Home (note the tooltip "com.sap.km. home_ws") > Hidden > URL Access.
               b) Open contained iView: Document (km-doc-iview) for editing
               c) Select the property category "Advanced"
               d) Change the property "Authentication Scheme" to "anonymous"
               e) Save the changes.
    I think that ought to fix your problems.
    Else go see this note 1237530 as it describes that there has been some mis-coding internally in WPC with relation to using /irj/go/km/docs instead of standard servlet.

  • Employee Photo upload vs Content Repository

    Hi Guys,
    Can anyone explain me
    1. What are the different circumstances we use different Document Area and Storage Type for Uploading Photos in SAP?
    2. Is ther any space constraint and performance issues in storing Photos in R/3 database?
    3. What is the recommended document Area and Storage Type if I need to upload more than 50,000 photos?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Regards,
    Nithya.

    Hi Dude,
    1. Create a number range for SAP Archive Link :
    IMG->Basis Components->Basis Services->SAP Archive Link->Basic Settings->Maintain number ranges.
    Tcode OANR. Create range 01 from 0000000001 to 9999999999 without the external number flag.
    2. Document type HRICOLFOTO must exist with document class JPG.
    IMG->Basis Components->Basis Services->SAP Archive Link->System Settings->Maintain document types.
    Table TOAVE, Tcode OAC2.
    3. Document type HRICOLFOTO must be linked to object type PREL and IT0002.
    IMG->Personnel Management->Personnel Administration->Tools->Optical Archiving->Set up Optical Archiving in HR.
    View V_T585O, no Tcode. In all three columns there ara minuses, donu2019t put a flag in the check box.
    4. Check which content repository (Archive) is linked to document type HRICOLFOTO and object type PREL.
    IMG->Basis Components->Basis Services->SAP Archive Link->Basic Settings->Maintain Links.
    Table TOAOM_C, Tcode OAC3
    5. Create this content repository with storage type FILE archive.
    IMG->Basis Components->Basis Services->SAP Archive Link->Basic Settings->Maintain content repositories.
    Tcode OAC0
    Storage type FILE archive can be attained by clicking on the field Storage type and clicking somewhere else in the screen with the right mouse button. Choose Possible entries and only then you get a list of all values. FILE Archive is entry number 08. Choose Version no. 0031 and Archive path something (e.g. C:\).
    6. Link photo to personnel number.
    Menu->Tools->Business Documents->Miscellaneous->Stored Documents. Tcode OAAD.
    Click on the Create button. Business object PREL and Docyment type HRICOLFOTO. Click on create (fill in the right personnel number in the pop up and click Continue). Choose the photo (as a JPG file) from the place where it is saved (e.g. hard disk). SAP will notify that the Stored Document was created succesfully. Photo is visible via PA10, PA20, PA30, PA40. Double-click to magnify photo.
    To delete archived document :
    Tcode OAAD, click Find. In docyment type field select HRICOLFOTO and after execute you get a list of all documents. Select appropriate document and click on delete icon.
    Don't forget to adjust IT0002 header!!!!
    Please also see SAP Note 488281.   Here's some of what it says:
    1. The pictures (.jpg or .bmp) must be available on your PC.
    2. Start transaction OAAD.
    3. Choose function 'documents -> create'
    4. Choose as business object 'PREL' and as document type 'HRICOLFOTO'
    5. Push the create button
    6. Fill in the appropriate personnel number
    This solution requires SAP Archivelink to be installed.
    Use SICF tcode that displays lot of services. Under sap --> bc there is a service called content server interface. Activate this service.
    Now Create the A2 repository with TCode OAC0.
    While creating the repository, keep the Document Area blank, Storage type as R/3 database, Rep. Sub-type will appear as Normal by default, Version No. as 0046 and in Contents table put 'SDOKCONT1' as the table name.
    This will set the config part. Now upload the picture using tcode OAAD.
