Archive not workng on a particular mailbox

Hi all, im having the following issue. I migrated over 2000 mail accounts from Ex 2007 to 2013. set retention tags and archive.
Al works fine, but on a particular mailbox that has a size of 90 GB, the archive is set but the process only archived 12.4 KB of email.
I tried to force it by stopping archive on exchange, also the start-managedassistanfolder command, recreate the archive settings.
Is there anything else to try?
Could be also an issue regarding mailbox size?
Regards.
DR.M3rL4

Hi,
Based on my knowledge, this issue may be related to the following two reasons.
1. Item counts are too high to process.
2. The managed folder assistant is not being given enough time to run.
To decrease the number of items that need to be processed, you can change the value of
Age limit for retention in retention policy tag.
For example, if you move items older than one year before, now please change to move items older than two years to check result.
To give MRM more time to complete its operations, you can use the following command.
Set-MailboxServer <servername> -ManagedFolderWorkCycle
Hope this is helpful to you.

No idea at all, it might help if you gave more information, what type of mail, who provides it, any error messages etc.

  • "The message could not be moved to the mailbox Archive" - iPhone 6

I have an iPhone 6 using the standard email app for my work (we use gmail apps), now using the latest iOS 8.1
When I try to swipe to Archive, it doesn't work and says: "Unable to Move Message. The message could not be moved to the mailbox Archive"
If I switch to 'Delete' instead of 'Archive' it deletes it, but I want to archive. It used to work, yet even before I upgraded my phone and iOS, it's started happening a month or so ago.
I used to never have this issue but it's relatively new. I've tried deleting and reinstalling my mail account and nothing works.
    Help please.
    Thanks

  • Error Message - Could not be moved to the mailbox "(null)"

The archive button in macmail will not let me archive an email using one of my IMAP accounts, making me think I accidentally deleted an Archive folder during setup.    I get the following error message. The message [subject] could not be moved to the mailbox "(null)".  The destination mailbox does not exist.
Each of my email accounts have an archive folder, except for my work account (Tecsg) which has a circle icon instead of the Archive box icon.
Any tips on how to fix this?

    So this worked for me...
    I found the answer here.
    Close Mail
    Go to /Users/<username>/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/
    Edit Accounts.plist
Make a backup of the file just in case
Find the following key-string pair under the account that you are having trouble with:
    <key>ArchiveMailboxName</key>
    <string></string>
Change the <string> tag value to your desired archive folder name, e.g.  Archive
    Save the file
    Reopen Mail
The Archive folder will now apear with the rest of your archive folders in the navigation area.
You can also add an archive button to the toolbar.

Anyone know how to fix this?

    Can't Delete Mail Messages

  • Gmail Archive not working in iOS8

If I try to archive a Gmail message in the iOS8 Mail app, I get the error Unable to Move Message - The message could not be moved to the mailbox Archive.
The problem may lie in that I use Exchange for Gmail - I've had it like that for years, and it seems better than the new system.
Other people seem to have had the same problem for deleting in the previous iOS, but that's working fine for me.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

  • Mailbox Archive File Size vs. Actual Mailbox File Size

Why would a Mailbox Archive File be 3GB if Mailbox File itself is 5.35GB? Are they compressed?
I don't have confidence in the archive file enough to delete the mailbox file yet. (Trying to free up some HD space).
Can one just save the mailbox file and later return it to Apple mail?
Really what is the advantage of the mailbox archive?
    Thanks!

Areas of continuos tone can be simplified - therefore reduced - more than areas with lots of detail. For example, if you had a picture of a wall-any single color, light or dark- the compression algorithm could look at the whole wall and define it as a big rectangle and use just a few bytes of information.
In contrast, if you had a scene with many details, it would be necessary to use a finer calculation and representation to avoid losing those details in the compressed image.
DPI= dots per inch and is only really relevant for printing. ie, a 1200x1800 image file printed at 300 dots per inch would be printed as a 4"x6" picture.
If you were to print the same file at 600 dpi, it would be 2"x3" picture.
DPI matters because a picture printed at 600 dpi will normally appear sharper and clearer than one printed at 300 dpi. Most people will recommend that you print at at least 150 dpi in order to get a decent printed picture. This means that you should think about whether you plan to print, and if so, how big you want to print before you take the picture to make sure it will have enough information to fill out the desired picture size at the desired dpi.
Screen dpi (or more accurately, ppi (pixels per inch)) can vary depending on the size and selected resolution of the screen.
So, it is incorrect to say "1600x1200dpi"- the image size is 1600x1200 pixels (about 1.92 MegaPixels), not 1600x1200 dots per inch.

  • Workitem not going to a particular user id

    Hi,
I am having a workflow container element APPROVERLIST which stores the ids of the users to whom a particular workitem should go. But for a particular user id , the workitem is not going to that person, rather it is going to some other user ids. I checked  if that id has been substituted but that is not the case.
Are there some other areas where I can check exception?
    thanks in advance.
    Abhishek

    Dear all,
I have checked all the above scenarios.
There is no excluded agent existing . The bindings are correct. Let me describe the scenario little bit more in detail.
APPROVERLIST is a workflow container element ( multiline ). This container element is populated in a particular task. This task fetches the user ids from a table and stores it here.
In the next task which is a foreground task, in the "agents" APPROVERLIST is mentioned against EXPRESSION , so this workitem will go to all the users who are in APPROVERLIST.
Agent assignment is maintained correctly. Its not working for one particular id. Is there any place to check this outside the workflow design?
Also I checked the user id, it is existing.
    regards,
    Abhishek

  • The message could not be moved to the mailbox trash - Exchange Account

    Hi All,
Not sure if it has anything to do with the update.
Mail shows 1 unread message all the time, I've read it, still shows unread. I try to delete it and get the error "the message could not be moved to the mailbox trash", same error if I try to move it to the trash folder.
Message has been long deleted from my actual INBOX via Outlook weeks ago.
I've seen the suggestions to touch the trash settings under MAIL > Advanced, but there is no such option for Exchange accounts.

I found an answer that has worked for me and others in another thread. It sounds pointless but just do it, all of a sudden I can delete mail now.
    1. Go to Settings
    2. Mail, Contacts, Calendars
    3. Click your email adress.
    4. Scroll down and click "Advanced"
    5. Click "Deleted Mailbox"
    6. Click "Spam" (at the bottom) then back to "Trash" (at the top).
That's it. It should now work again.

  • I cannot delete mail from my inbox and get a message saying (msg) could not be moved to the mailbox trash-POP account".

I suddenly cannot delete mail from my inbox and get a message saying " (msg) could not be moved to the mailbox trash-POP account".  It does not matter if I am trying to delete a single message or mulitiple messages.  Can anyone help?

If you're running Leopard, as your profile says, then you need to post your question in that forum, not the Snow Leopard forums. So if you're really running Snow Leopard, you need to update your profile to show that, as well as give more details about what kind of mail accounts you have, and who your email provider is.

  • Mail - The mesage "subject" could not be moved to the mailbox trash

    Hello,
Suddenly, I started to receive an error message when I try to delete emails.:
"The mesage "subject" could not be moved to the mailbox trash - "account name" The operation couldn't be completed. File exists.
The strange thing is that sometimes, if I try again it does delete it, sometimes not.
    I didn't do anything, didn't change nothing.
I've repaired my permissions, restart my mac, nothing helps.
    any idea?
    thanks,
    shlomit

I've been having a similar problem off and on for months with my university's Exchange account. I've tried Mailbox > Rebuild to no effect and the only thing that provided an extended remedy was to delete the account and recreate it. This isn't a problem with an Exchange account but isn't so good for other types.
Anyway, I just realised that I'd been using the Rebuild command only on the Inbox and not on all the other folders within the account. I selected all the folders and then Mailbox > Rebuild and everything is working well again. I feel pretty stupid that I didn't think of it earlier.

  • TS3899 My email on my iPhone won't allow me to trash old messages -- I get "unable to move message" "message could not be moved to the mailbox Trash"  I have restored to factory settings, asked AT&T about it (no help).

my iphone won't allow me to trash old email messages -- I get the little window that says "Unable to Move Message -- The message could not be moved to the mailbox Trash." AT&T can't help me -- no one else has this problem, even though we're all on the same server from my company. I have restored to factory settings, but it didn't help. My email account settings are correct, the same as on my computers, and I can trash old messages on them.
    What do I do now?

I have had a similar problem recently and followed advice here. Specifically, I used the brute force approach. As suggested by this site, I strongly urge you to backup your mailbox before trying this fix - just to be on the safe side.

  • IPhone 4 will not delete 'trash' ... "Unable to Move Message ... The message could not be moved to the mailbox Trash"

I cannot empty my 'trash' ... it comes up with ... "Unable to Move Message ... The message could not be moved to the mailbox Trash"
I went into Settings > Mail > 'my account' > advanced > deleted mailbox > Trash (On My iPhone) ... it appears to delete a few items only ... I may try to individually delete 30 items and only 4 go ?  help please ...

I have the same problem and there is no advanced option. Was this removed in the upgrade to ios 5? I have been chasing a solution to this and the fact I have various duplicate emails appearing in my work account for days now! It seems like I may have to delete my account and re-install. This appears to be a common problem, where is Apple's fix for it?
