Archived Mac mail to android phone gmail

I need to copy some archived  Mac Mail to my Android phone.
Is there a method for this?

nevermind, figured it out.  d&d within Mac Mail from Archive to gMail.
though I wish I could figure a way to support the archive sync as I go.
when a message comes in and I move to a sub-box in Archive, I wish it would sync to the same sub-box in Android.

  • Mac Mail frequently asks for gmail password, why?

Mac Mail frequently asks for Gmail password, so I have to change it sometimes every time when Mail cheks my email via Gmail Apps autorization.

    Hi,
    It does work.
What I did find out from another thread is that it has to be Set at Google to be a "Less Secure" App despite it using SSL.
As has been said two step verification can seem to get in the way.
On the Google page for this.
Allowing less secure apps to access your account
Google may block sign in attempts from some apps or devices that do not use modern security standards. Since these apps and devices are easier to break into, blocking them helps keep your account safer.
Some examples of apps that do not support the latest security standards include:
The Mail app on your iPhone or iPad with iOS 6 or below
The Mail app on your Windows phone preceding the 8.1 release
Some Desktop mail clients like Microsoft Outlook and Mozilla Thunderbird
You need to start here https://www.google.com/settings/security/lesssecureapps?hl=en
(Messages is one that they deem a Less Secure app but what "security" they are using is not clear.)

  • ICloud doesn't get mail on android phone.  How can I get this to work?

I upgraded my mac to iCloud, but am not getting any web access to my android phone.  Does this mean I have to replace my 6 month old phone with an iPhone?  I sure hope not!

iCloud's mail server settings are different from MobileMe's, and you will need to set your phone up with the settings listed in this page:

I am able to access my gmail on my Verizon cell phone. I can navigate to the .mac website on my cell phone and can enter log in information but when I press log in I am given a malformed URL message and can get no further.
How can I check my mac mail on my cell phone? Is there a different url to type in for that?

Thank you, the issue has been somewhat resolved in a different forum!

  • Mac Mail has emptied my gmail

I was playing with mac mail yesterday on my OS X macbook and synced mail with my gmail and it emptied all my gmail into mac mail. Is there a way to send it back?

First Quit Mail, then I'd backup these two Mail folders, by right clicking on them in the Finder, then choose Archive/Compress.
    Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail
    Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail Downloads
(Could be a different folder here if you chose such in Mail Prefs)
Right click on that Mail folder, choose archive, you'll get everything in the folder, and the folder itself in a file called Mail.zip, move it to a safe place, same for the Mail Downloads folder... only the plist is separate.
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist
Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move these folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
    Reboot.
If that doesn't help & you can afford to redo any Mail Rules...
    Trash these files...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/... MessageRules.plist and MessageRules.plist
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/... MessageRules.plist and MessageRules.plist.backup
    Reboot.

  • How can I sync calendars between my mac, iphone and android phone

I use an iPhone as my primary phone, but do travel alot and need to have a secondary phone with a local SIM card when I travel. For this reason, I am considering buying an android phone. One of my major concerns though, is how would I be able to (if possible at all) sync calendars and contacts between all the devices. Today with iCloud I can get the iCloud syncing between my iMac, Macbook Pro, iPad and iPhone. When I introduce an android device, I am going to have to bring in Google calendars as well, so how do I get my iCal calendars to automatically sync to google calendars without having to creat duplicate calendars or without having to basically migrate to using only google calendars? Same goes for the contacts?

On your Mac and iPad, turn off iMessage.

  • Archiving Mac Mail emails per year

    hello
is there an easy way ( read: automatic, by script ;-) to archive my Mac Mail emails per year ?
    thx in advance
    Henny

As I looked back at my test Smart Mailbox, you could use something like that to group them all and then move them into the new Year hierarchy which would sort of semi-automate the process.
Build your 2010 hierarchy and then create the 2010 smart mailbox for a particular folder in your archive. Select all in the smart mailbox and move to the new 2010 folder of same name. Edit the smart mailbox for each folder and repeat. Sounds a bit tedious, still, depending on how many subfolders you have and how many years you go back.
And more ideas. I created a 2010 Smart Mailbox that got all emails for 2010. I then typed in one of my Archive folder names in the Search box and selected Mailbox as the criteria type from the search dropdown. So, for instance, if I wanted to look at my online orders from 2010, I selected the 2010 smart mailbox, and then typed Online Orders into the search field. When the various matching criteria popped up, I selected Mailboxes.
This method would allow you to keep your Archive grouping neatly organized and not have the hierarchy duplicated each year. Smart Mailboxes can be grouped by dragging them on top of one another, so you could keep the Year mailboxes neetly organized, also.

  • Mac mail not working with gmail 2 step verification in yosemite

Every couple of days my 2 step verification seems to drop off the mac mail (and calendar) radar. Ive been using mac mail with 2 step verification (gmail account) for about 8 months, no problems. About 1 month ago my mac started asking for my gmail password. I have revoked and regenerated my password about 6 times recently to try to overcome this issue. The new password works for a couple of days and then mail and calendar start asking from my password again.

Not quite a reply, but I'm not sure how best to add to my first comment.
One of the issues with this (and there are multiple) is that I can't use handoff to work on something on my mac, started on my ipad, if it is working through my gmail account eg notes, calendar, email.
This bug is totally crippling the productivity and flexibility that came with ios8/yosemite developments.

  • How can I import 1000s of Emails from Mac Mail (Exchange Account) into Gmail and Retain Labels?

I have an old exchange account in Mac Mail, disconnected, but still with 1000s of emails in a folder structre. I'd like to import all of those into my Gmail account, and retain the folder structre as Gmail labels). What's th easiest way to do this?

That is a question for Google, as far as I know Exchange does not use labels, the folders are (unlike Gmail) real.
But Google support may know a way.

  • Mac Mail/thunderbird - not receiving gmail from just one user

I have an important correspondence with a particular person who uses gmail.  All of a sudden, none of his emails are being received by my Mac Mail on my domestic and work Macs and also on a RDC PC server using Thunderbird account set up identically.  Yet, I am receiving all my usual other correspondence (I think!).  He is now copying all correspondence to both my Mac Mail address and a separate gmail account address.  I receive all his correspondence on gmail. I have not found his e-mails in my Junk box.  Nor are they present when I search for his name.  I wonder if there is some setting he has to change on his gmail, or if there is something weird about the filters for both Mac Mail and Thunderbird that are screening out his e-mails, but permitting them on gmail.  I have tried to use my Mac Mail for all important professional correspondence and gmail just for commercial transactions and hence I habitually only screen Mac Mail.  Please could you help me troubleshoot this.  I assume it must have something to do with his gmails and not anything particularly specific with Mac Mail - but there may be a filter setting I need to change.
Domestic computer:  Software  Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 (11C74)  MacBook Pro
Processor  2.2 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory  8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics  AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1024 MB
Office computer is a MacPro running Snow Leopard

p.s.  Nothing unusual about the attachments - they are pdf and I can/have received numerous in the past from others with no problem.

  • Settings to access BT mail on Android phones

I've tried responding to a mail on my android phone ans it says it cant send it. Further investigation shows that the outbound settings seem to be wrong.  I've deleted my account on the phone and then set it up again ut it fails on veryfying the server details for outbound messages.  Anybody able to provide me with teh settings for android for getting to and sending bt emails, including port numbers etc.?
    thanks

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

When I had a similar problem with Thunderbird a couple of years ago, it was cured by changing the outgoing server port to 587. Ditto when I got a smartphone - the default port 25 didn't work, 587 does.

  • Archiving Mac Mail for later retrieval

I have several users who insist on saving emails stored in Mac Mail to their local hard drive.  If they drag messages to the local folder, the emails are saved with a .eml extensions.  They can click on the file later and it open and appear as the original email did in Mac Mail.  The other option is some of them use File/Save As to save them to the local drive.  If they don't select "Raw Message Source" when saving, the files saved as Plain or Rich Text.  When that happens, the emails open unformatted in TextEdit.  I have instructed them to save these emails properly moving foward.  However, one of our big wigs has quite a few emails that are no longer in Mac Mail that he saved to his local drive as Plain or Rich Text.  Is there a way to convert those to .eml files so that they open back up in Mac Mail properly.  I know it is not as simple as just changing the file extension.
    Thanks for any help.

No. They are no longer email messages. They have lost the headers and no longer have the structure of an email message.

  • Can't work out how to stop Mac mail from Forwarding to GMail account.

Okay. This is on behalf of my sister. For whatever reason, when emails are sent to her @mac.com address they get forwarded to her GMail account and deleted from her @mac.com address. So they never appear in her @mac.com inbox. She now wants this relationship to stop and wants to delete her GMail account due to hacking fears and use the @mac.com address as it was intended, but between us we can not figure out where the setting that is doing the forwarding and deleting command it set. I thought I had nailed it when I hit upon the "Rules" section in OS Mail preferences, but there was nothing in there. I then thought it might be a setting on her GMail account, but they are all standard as well.
So is there some place I'm not looking in either OS Mail or on me.com, or some place else that contains this type of forwarding commands that I'm clearly missing.
Thank you for any suggestions in advance
One thought I had was if I deleted her Mac account from OS Mail and re-built it, would that start everything from scratch???

Managed to solve this myself. Yeah.
It was a Mobile Me setting.
log on to me.com in an internet browser. Then select the preferences option under actions in the Mail area and select other, and in there you'll find forwarding options.... what a ball ache to find it though. Its not very clear at all. If u have a similar problem, then I suggest logging into me.com and do a search for forwarding and you'll find what you need straight away.

  • Archiving mac mail onto a cd

I am trying for the first time to archive thousands of emails from Mac's "mail" program.  Can seem to drag them into Toast, as I used to do with Entourage, can't get Snow Leopard to burn them to cd under "File",  A "Burn Folder" will only accept the emails one at a time, and - as I wrote - I have thousands to copy and then delete from my active email.
I am not clear about archiving into an .mbox file.  Is this my solution?  Is it tightly packed and takes up substantially less room on my hard drive, but can be reimported if I need to look back?
Any assistance will be much appreciated, and noted.
    Thanks,
    Josh

Addendum:  typo, meant to say I CANNOT  drag them into Toast
