ArchiveLink configuration

Hi all,
does anybody know how to set-up ArchiveLink to work with the SAP Content Server in a 4.6 environment?
Thanks in advance
Skabuby

Hi Stefano,
if you want to know all the details there is a useful SAP teaching course for ArchiveLink. The SAP standard docu is located under Basis -> Basis Services -> SAP ArchiveLink on http://help.sap.com. The link  is:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/de/e9/81d15d449611d189700000e8322d00/frameset.htm
Perhaps some hints for the beginning:
I suppose that you already configured a content repository in your SAP content server.
In order to connect your content server to the SAP system you have to customize a content repository in OAC0.
Here, you basically need the IP address the port number of your content server.
ContentRep: <name of your content repository>
DocumentArea: ArchiveLink
StorageType: HTTP content server
PROTOCOL: nothing
Version no: 0046
HTTP server: <your IP address>
PortNumber: <your port>
HTTP script: /ContentServer/ContentServer.dll (if CS is installed on Windows)
Transfer drct: only needed for print lists (must be a directory on SAP application server)
OutputDevice: ARCH (for example)
No signature: <clicked>
Now, perform a connection test. This should work now.
Now, you can go on with the documentation and you can configure ArchiveLink scenarios.

  • Content Server / Content Repository / Archive Link and co.

    Hi,
i have installed a content server on an external Windows 2003 Server Plattform using MAXDB. The Server is now running and working properly. The test of the content repositories were positive too. Now im a bit confused about all the actions which are required to make a content rep known to SAP System via Archive Link. Is it correct to start the content server service in the SCIF transaction? Do i need to perform the Archive Link Workflow and Costumizing wizard. Which tables have to be altered?
I would  be very greatful if anyone could tell me the steps which need to be done in order to succeed.
    Thanks in advance Christian

    Not required
the actions which are required to make a content rep known to SAP System via Archive Link.
Create a content repository  in OAC0 using document area Archivelink and storage type HTTP Content Server.
To use full functionality of  Archlink, other set of Archivelink configurations required one of them e.g.OAC3 to use this repository to be used by business objects.

  • Late Archiving for Contract Documents via OAWD.

    Hi experts,
I am now configuring Late Archiving for Contract Documents but it seems that the document attachment cannot be viewed via J6NP/J6NY. My question is concerning the Business Object. When I use standard Business Object "BUS2095", documents are stored succesfully and documents can be viewed in J6NP/J6NY. But I cannot use BUS2095 because it only has Sales Document No as input. My users require fields - Sales Document No, Contract Start Date,Sales Organisation and Distribution Channel. Therefore I created a customized Business Object with those fields. These fields were taken from a new Customised Joint table between VBAK,VEDA and VBAP.
At OAWD, I am able to archive for the Document Type I created. It says that Document stored succesfully. But the problem is when I want to view the archive document at J6NP/J6NY, there is no attachments. I tested the J6NP configuration with BUS2095 and attachment can be viewed. But with my Customised Business Object, there are no attachments.
What must I look into and what do I need to check? I really need help here. Please..

    Hello,
Can you check the configuration of OAC3?
Hope you have deleted the configuration of BUS2095 assignment to document type.
Instead, creation of new archivelink configuration for custom business object and assign to document type you have used earlier.

  • Archiving external pdf documents in IXOS

    Hi all,
I wrote an home made application to manage links between SAP and external systems. In this application I've a document number which corresponds to a pdf document I received on a windows file server.
I'm receiving hundreds of pdf documents per day from these external systems and I want to archive them in IXOS from an ABAP program.
I wrote a program to do this using these standard functions :
ARCHIV_CONNECTDEFINITION_GET          to get the archive parameters
ALINK_DOCUMENTS_CREATE_DIALOG    to upload the PDF file and send it to IXOS
ARCHIV_CONNECTION_INSERT                 to create the link in SAP
    this works perfectly.... in forground.
The function ALINK_DOCUMENTS_CREATE_DIALOG does not work in background.
I absolutly need to create a job to do this archiving because I get about 2000 - 3000 documents per day
Does somebody have a solution for this ?
I looked around in this forum and in SAP but I didn' find a solution at the moment
    Thank you

    Hello,
As i understand with your question - You have to archive the incoming documents which are in PDF format and link it with SAP business document.
If so, then you can achieve by using OpenText Document Pipeline functionality.
Below are the steps need to be performed:
    1. For each incoming document there should be control files which is essential for the IXOS job to archive and send the updates to the SAP
    - You can refer to OpenText Document Pipeline for the attributes of control file
    2. Schedule EXR3 job - agument the exchange directory - where your incoming document with control file are located
Pre-requisites are - ArchiveLink configuration should be defined in SAP.
In this way you can archive the incoming documents to link to SAP transaction data.
You can see the archived information in table TOA0* and also in respective SAP transaction data using GOS service you can display the document.
    Hope this will help.

    Hello,
For your requirement, you should have ArchiveLink configuration...
Below are the step you should perform for Late Document Archiving
    > Create Document Type and assign document class in transaction OAC2
    >> Assign Content Repository, Link table to your Business object type and document type in transaction OAC3.
After this you can perform Late document archiving in FB32 transaction with help of GOS = Generic object service.
Steps in GOS - Select Create > Click on Store Business document >> Select your document type and attach required image. This will help in storing incoming or outgoing documents for your business transactions in archive server through content repository assigned to document type.
Note: Above works if Archive Infrastructure in place & connected to SAP system. If not then directly you can attach the incoming and outgoing documents to your business transaction so that all the attachment will be stored in SAP database.
Hope this information will help you.

  • Invalid certificate:  No Active Certificate for Content Repository

    Hello,
I am trying to store DMS documents in Documentum.  We have already performed the exercise in a sandbox environment.  We moved to a development system on the SAP side and we are trying to use the same repository on the Documentum side.  We have performed the prerequisite ArchiveLink  configuration.  When we execute the program RSHTTP80, we get an error stating that the certificate is invalid.  (Output from SLG1 is attached.)
We have resent the certificates and CSADMIN shows that we have an Active certificate.  The problem persists.
    Any suggestions are welcome.
    Thanks.

    HI JR,
check the date/time settings in your SAP system and on the content server too. Please don't forget the correct timezone settings.
In the URL expiration time is 20140530063005
But from the test the date, time is 30 May 2014, 04:30:05
So my first thought is that the URL is expired.

  • CHiP BSSP_ATTACHMENTS store business document

I added the CHiP BSSP_ATTACHMENTS to my custom web dynpro application.  I got it to work, but the attachments attach to the content server.  We want the attachments to go to the archive server (i.e. IXOS).  To do this manually, you would to the GOS menu and choose 'Store business document'.  I believe the CHiP is using the GOS menu item 'Attach' which stores to the content server (SAP database).
Anyone know how I can tell the CHiP to store to the archive server instead?
    Thanks.

    Hello,
You are trying to Print & also archive by selecting the option Print & Archive.
You have to do archivelink configurations and then create document type and assign to the object type with content repository with archivelink table.
If you want to archive the spool or output then you have to use object type as DRAW. If you are archiving invoice document or letters or so on then you have to know the object type/Business object of the transaction.
Please note that for archivelink configuration, attachment will be either stored in archive server or in SAP database table based on business requirement.
Hope this will give you some understanding on archiving area.

  • Difference between usage of "System -- Services for object" and GOS direct

    Hey folks,
i was wondering if you know an answer for that problem:
    1) Start ME23N (no SAP Gui classic design!) and go to System - Services for Objects in order to start the GOS Toolbox. Try to to store a business document. In my case i don't have the authorisation S_WFAR_OBJ so i get the  Message no. 00398 "You do not have authorization for this function" Thats the behavior a want
    2) Start ME23N and activate GOS Toolbox by clicking directly on the button on the top left corner. Try to a store a business document. But there is no message coming up?! Same user, same PO! It seems that the Toolbox is just beeing restartet and thats it.
Same behavior in IW53/IW33 too, no auth error message if GOS is started via "System --> Services for Objects".
    Thats our system:
ERP ECC 6.04 with NW 7.01
SAP Gui 7.20 PL 3 (signature design)
Thanks for your help and best regards

    Hi Oliver,
I have done a similar testing for Tcode FB03 since I have done Archivelink configuration for this FI object.
    Case 1:
    =======
Start FB03 (no SAP Gui classic design!) and go to System - Services for Objects in order to start the GOS Toolbox. Try to to store a business document. In my case i don't have the authorisation S_WFAR_OBJ so i get the Message no. 00398 "You do not have authorization for this function"
    Case 2:
    ========
Start FB03 and activate GOS Toolbox by clicking directly on the button on the top left corner. Try to a store a business document. Still got the same error message "You do not have authorization for this function".
Later I added the required object in the authorization profile and it worked in both the cases mentioned above.
Since the same program is being executed behind both the cases, it will check the same authorization object as designed.
What I would suggest is that you perform this test again and ensure that no one modifies the authorization during your testing period.

  • PDF documents get ZZZ extension in Filenet

I am trying to archive outbound documents from a 4.7 SAP system to Filenet and when the document is transferred to Filenet it shows up with a file extension of .zzz.
We are using ACSAP v2.1.  We have configured the SAP system as outlined in the connector documentation.  The Filenet consultant believes that the problem is in the SAP configuration, but I believe I have looked through all the archivelink configuration in SAP and can't find anything.

  • Configuring ArchiveLink

We are running ECC 5.0, and I am trying to configure ArchiveLink so we can use it to store scanned accounting documents on a third-party server, and link the scanned documents to SAP FI documentsI.
Can anyone provide the config steps required for this to work? I have read several PDF documents that I downloaded from the Internet, and followed the steps, but I have not been able to get the system to work.
    Thank you,
    Hakiza

    hi.
i think i understand - if you write third-party-server you really mean that? This is not a server with an installed archiving solution like filenet, commonstore or sap content server.
do you want to access the files on systemlevel?
For archive link communication there are several ways to communicate with the external archive. normally rfc or http is used. for using http you have to enter a server, a port and a script who handles the requests. On the other hand you can store your documents in the sap database (OAC0 / storage type). i think that is not a good idea.
in every case you need to link the (external) documents to the sap documents. e.g. commonstore has an archiving client, filenet scans directly into a filenet repository...
do you have a content server? maybe you should setup one - sap content server sounds good, but i don't know anything about that. we do not use it (filenet, commonstore).

    martin

  • ArchiveLink Viewer Configuration

We'd like to configure an SAP 4.7B system to be able to support the viewing of PDF (OTF data) and TIFF files.
Previously we've been using the AlViewer.
Invoices with multiple pages had been archived as multi-page/multi-file documents.  We want to change the archival to store single TIFF files with multiple pages.
To make this change,  we've changed settings in OAA3 to use SAP internal viewer.  No communication method is selected. After doing that PDF and single page TIFF documents stored via ArchiveLink viewed OK, but when we attempt to view a document archived as multi-page, it fails -- error 733.  The file it is failing on is a multi-page TIFF file.
Our guess is that in this configuration within OAA3 the CGDT RFC call is being specified which is for single page data.  Not sure if that is the case, or how we can tell.  But if it is, maybe we somehow need to change the SAP call from CGDT to CGDS or maybe the CGDA??  How could this be configured within OAA3 (or elsewhere)?

    Hi Dick,
    just two remarks:
    1. I guess you work with an archive system being SAP certified. So, I would recommend to use the ArchiveLink 4.5 HTTP Interface for the access to the archive system. If you do so you can use the ArchiveLink viewer that supports PDF (via HTML control) and also TIFF via ECL control.
    2. I'm currently not sure if you can use the SAP ArchiveLink viewer with an RFC archive system. Just switch off the protocol for the content repository for a moment (OAC0) and check it out. Also, you can make further viewer customizing in transaction OAG1.
    Best regards

What table in the MaxDB shall I look at?  Where is the docID being passed to?

I'm sorry to say that I don't know.
AFAIK, the report gets documents from the document store. The Contentserver itself runs embedded in the Web-Server.
Besides the trial to write a trace file with the Contentserver (see Contentserver.ini somewhere on your Web-Server) I strongly recommend to open a customer message.
