Changing the default to location of Archiver data

Hi,
Is there any way that we can change the default location of the Archiver data. By default is goes to archives folder, i want it to goto some other folder.
Similarly when u take up the backup of site. i want it also to be stored in some other folder.
is it possible.???

Not sure what you mean by a back up. There is no built in Disaster recovery tool for UCM. Standard system back ups (file system and DB) for restore should be used.

How to Delete Sales orders in BW which are Archived in R/3

Hi All,
Sales orders were archived in R/3 But it is still present in BW. I need to Delete the orders.
Moroover i need to schedule a job for every two weeks checking in R/3 for archived and deleting it from BW.
How this can be done.
Can anybody help?

Hi,
I guess the only way to proceed it to post the corresponding data reversal in BW. I am interested in this behaviour since we are about to start archiving in R/3.
It looks strange that when archiving a sales doc, the delta extract doesn't report that with a special flag or a ROCANCEL = 'X'.
Could you please ensure that this is really not the case?
Do you have a way to identify if a sales order has been archived in R/3? if yes could you please let me know? I will try to test this.

Display Archived Document in Abap Webdynpro without opening new window.

I would like to create a wd4a application that receives the parameters of Archive ID and Doc ID and displays the archived document. The document is stored as a pdf on SAP's content server. Currently the webdynpro will open a separte blank Window. I have not defined any view elements to the embedded view because I do know which view element I should to display the archived documente. I have a url to the document and it will get displayed by creating an new window by executing the code below to launch the file in a separate window.   The Adobe Viewer creates a new window to view the document. Does anyone know what view Uielement I should use to view the document in the main window and main view?

I found a solution after much troubleshooting including uninstalling/reinstalling Office 2010 which didn't solve the issue.
Here it is:
When Outlook or some other Office program is minimized in the taskbar and won't open, right click the taskbar to bring up task manager.
Right click the program in the task manager list that is giving trouble and click Maximize. You should now see a full screen.
This worked for me and solved the "open and stays minimized" delima. Hope this helps you too. Cheers :)

Restoring after archive and install

after using 'archive and install', what is the proper procedure for restoring applications, plugins, etc?
1. manually copy?
2. migration assistant?
3. reinstall using disks/installers?

If they are only in the former system you forgot to to preserve your user settings.

Archived fi_documnt documents retrieval

Hi,
When I am doing the fi_documnt archiving,the write job got cancelled because of the system restart.so job got cancelled.
But still I have deleted atleast the written files.Afer that I found that I have archived the extra doc also.So trying to read the documents from sara but it is taking too much time to read.I did not do the post processing also because I have read in the forum that it will delete some more docs also and I am worried so I did not do post processing.Each file is around 1000 mb and also the files are in the diferent server nfs mounted to the local system.After 4-9 hours of run,it is throwing an error "TSV_TNEW_OCCURS_NO_ROLL_MEMORY" or some times "TSV_TNEW_PAGE_ALLOC_FAILED".So i could not able to read the data.
Is any other way to read the datas.Since I did not do the post processing,

Two things..
1st. If your WRITE job failed you should have fix it status before proceeding any further. What did youd delete? the files in the transfer directory?... you can't play with this you need consistency.
2nd. You need to create infostructure to populate the contents of the archived data. this is essential.
I think you should be careful and talk to an experienced archiving consultant before proceeding any further.

Transferring emails and google docs to new account.

I'm not sure this is the right forum, but I will give it a shot.
I am closing out one email account and opening up another, the old is my school account and the new is a gmail account. I have emails and google docs that I would like to keep. Is there a way to transfer them from the old account to the new? Thanks! Kelly

Download the docs to your desktop
If you are accessing the gmail account from a client (like mac mail) archive the mailbox (mailbox>archive mailbox)
Your docs and mail are now on your local machine and can be put back in your new account when ready

UCM archiver Export query parameter

I would like to use IdcCommand to run archive service to export some documents in UCM.
I noticed there seems a parameter "aExportQuery" (by searching internet) can be used to create query but I'm not sure what the syntax is for this parameter
also, I don't see this parameter mentioned in the official document of archiver services:

on another hand, this document says :
dataSource: Must be set to RevisionIDs. This is the query stub which, along with the export query, will be used to create the list of revisions to export.
sounds like this is where query should be created in.
Could someone clarify how to specify query for UCM export using IdcCommand ?

Hi ,
I would suggest to set the following trace sections on UCM to get the details :
requestaudit,socketrequest and enable Full verbose tracing .
Then create a new archive export collection - once it is done go to view server output and check Socketrequest output , it will give the exact set of parameters and how the values are set for each of them .

Archive and install: can't seem to do it

Mail 2.1.3, for incomprehensible reasons, has stopped download new emails from my hosting service. Nothing has changed, except for the get mail_ problem.
I decided to reinstall my system, so that I could get a clean copy of Mail. When I used the original 10.4 install disc and chose Archive and Install, the disc went through all the motions, including the creation of a Previous Systems folder. After restarting, however, the machine booted off a different hard drive, and the re-installed disk still had 10.4.11.
What happened, and how can I force this re-installation?

Archived Project no longer loads in iDVD

I have an iDVD project which I created on another machine. I saved it as an archive on an external hard drive, copied it to my B&W, opened it in iDVD and burned several copies. Now I want to make more copies but iDVD 5.01 claims that it can't find certain files (m4a and mov) so the project will not open.
What good is an archive that is missing files?
Any idea on where these files may have gone? or do I have to start from scratch?

Real Time Archival of Originals

Hi Gurus,
We have defined one of the statuses for DIR as 'Archive'. Could you please explain how is real time archiving of documents in 'Archive' status is achieved? i.e, how do we move originals to an external archive system. Docs would be helpful.Thanks.

Archiva WAR deployment

My apologies for my english.
It's not realy the right place to post this topic but I did not found a better one....
I try to deploy Archiva webapp as WAR in TOMCAT (5.5). I followed this doc : http://archiva.apache.org/docs/1.0/adminguide/webapp.html and it works fine.
The default Log file is in $TOMCAT_HOME/logs directory and I want to use an other one. The simple way to do that is to modify the file WEB-INF/classes/log4j.xml in the WAR. I don't want touch the WAR in order to upgrade my webapp version only in replacing the WAR. That's why I want to centralize the config in the file archiva.xml......
Is it possible to do that in the file $TOMCAT_HOME/conf/catalina/archiva.xml?

Thanks, John. It turns out that I didn't have a correct auxiliary descriptor. (My xml header was bad.) Once I checked that I was able to get farther. Unfortunately, now I am running into problems with the jsp converter not being able to find the tag library tld. It doesn't seem to be using the <taglib> directives in the web.xml. It also is complaining that it can't find a file that is in an embedded .jar file in the war... grumble.

For some modules, you would be able to recover data if archiving is used. However, in general like mentioned above by Asif, the only way to recover this data is by using a backup.

Now if again this ORA-00942: table or view does not exist is coming, possibility is that there is no issue regarding privileges as you already have given all privileges to DEV_OIM...
Anyway try again giving full permissions to it just in case for some reasons permissions might have reset...
Now the only option is to study OIM_TasksArch.sh and figure out which tables or view it wants to refer to and is not available to it..

The above line means that this sh file needs some arguments... Please study a bit more to figure out those arguments.. It will work...
