Archiving XI-Messages

I want to begin to delete and archive messages to shrink the database-space. the documentation says, that there this works only for messages, which are produced after the customizing of the intrefaces is done.
But i think, there must be simply a flag in the message to archive. Does anybody know about this? Is it possible to change this ?

Hi,
Run transaction SXMB_ADM in XI.
This will have an option for selecting which interfaces you want to include for archiving. Select all of them and save the changes. This will include all of your interfaces for archiving.
This will include all messages for the interfaces not just the ones after you have completed the step I have outlined above.
There are other steps that need to be completed after this step but Basis should be able to help with this as it is standard archiving.
Cheers
Colin.

  • Archiving SMS messages offline with PC Suite 6.7

First of all, I'm not a computer expert so I really hope someone can help me! I downloaded PC Suite 6.7 and would like to archive my sms messages (received messages and sent messages) offline on my PC. But it seems that I can only see my messages when my phone is connected to the PC, once I disconnect, the messages are no longer available. This means that I cannot archive my messages. I used to have an old version of Nokia Phone Editor 4.5 with my old cellular which allowed me to do this.
Basically, what I want to do is this:
    - Archive my messages on a regular basis so that I can delete them from my phone and free up its memory
    - Access these messages even when my phone is not attached to the PC
It seems that I cannot view my Contacts either unless my phone is connected. Why is this? I did not have this problem with Phone Editor 4.5. Should I install an older version of PC Suite?
I am running Windows XP and using a cable connection.
PLEASE HELP ME!!!! I'M GOING CRAZY!!!
    Thanks, Michelle

Hi, I don't have a solution either. I have tried copying the files while the phone is connected into a separate folder. The files will copy and they are accesible, but the dates are all messed up. Rather than the date the message was sent, it notes the date the file was created which is the date I copied them. So, messages sent over the course of a week all have the same date and almost the same time.
I have also tried the export message option which makes each message a single cell readable in Excel but that single cell includes everything, the message, date, time, sender...certainly not a convenient way to archive messages.
One main reason I decided to invest in a more expensive Nokia was the belief that there would be a good solution for archiving messages. I am sadly disappointed.

  • Ganesh Kotti(archiving failed messages)

    Hi everyone:
I have read the document: Archive and Degete Messages in SAP XI: A Step-by-Step Guide. Author Ganesh Kotti.
Inside this document there is this sentence:
XML messages that do not have the status Processed Succesfully remain in the database and I will adress later how to archive failed messages.
but It doesnt explain nothing about how to archive failed messages, Can somebody help me?

    Hi Ganesh,
Your extract on XI Archiving (especially Failed Messages) was very very helpful. I have however, encountered an error message whilst trying to cancel the processing of some messages within the monitor. The error message is as follows:
"<i>You cannot cancel XML Message <Message_ID> with this status/type</i>".
Now the <b>Status</b> column has a Chequered Flag, while the <b>c</b> column has a Red Flag. Do you know how to cancel such messages?
    Best regards,
    Reuben.

  • Rules are not allowed for jobs with set 'archive edited messages only' flag.

    Hi,
We are on AEX 7.4 and have enabled user defined search and also setup archiving. Even though the retention period has expired but still the messages are not being
    archived.
    We see following issues:
    1. Unable to setup archiving rule in Runtime Work Bench, we are getting following error:
Rules are not allowed for jobs with set 'archive edited messages only flag.
    2. Unable to set the expiration of messages using the following link. Each time we specify the number days it shows the same number of
    messages expired.
    http://XXXXX:50000/MessagingSystem/job/reorgdb.jsp
    3. However if we click on "remove messages" button the messages are getting deleted which tells me that the messages are not matching any
archiving rule hence are being removed.
Any pointers to the above issue are appreciated!!!
    Thanks,
    Rajeev

    Hi Friends,
Is it possible to archive XI messages thru tcode 'SARA'. If it is, what is the object name ?
    Kind Regards,
    Jeg P.

    Hi,
Yes you can use Tcode SARA for archiving and deleteing messages in SAP XI. for object name, just click on the square given after the text box near object name and you will come to know what it is. for more info you can refer

  • Problems archiving old messages at the end of the year?

At the end of 2007 I'd like to create new mailboxes for messages sent and received in the year, date them, and move the messages across into them; leaving the Inbox and Sent box empty and ready to handle messages for 2008. Is this a reasonably straightforward thing to do? Are there potential pitfalls I should be aware of?

Yes, it’s reasonable and straightforward, and is also what I do, except I don’t wait till the end of the year to archive my messages. Instead, I create a (white) folder for each year, including the current one, and organize my mail by topic into (blue) sub-mailboxes there as I read them. My Inbox only contains messages (if any) that are waiting for me to do something with them.
Are there potential pitfalls I should be aware of?
The main pitfall you should be aware of would be not doing that and leaving all your mail in the account mailboxes indefinitely. Using Inbox and Sent for archiving purposes (which a lot of people do) is a bad idea.
Another thing to be aware of is that you shouldn’t use the same folder as both a mailbox (i.e. to store messages of its own) and as a parent folder for other folders. Mail allows that duality, but doesn’t handle it very well, and it’s better to not try to “take advantage” of it.

  • Archiving text messages

I was wondering if anyone has figured out how to archive text messages from the iphone (in this case, iphone 3G) onto a macbook, without having to purchase specialized software? I have read online posts that suggest a program called PhoneView, but I am skeptical to download programs online.
    Thanks.

You can send them one at a time to your email by forwarding the message, and simply putting your email address in the To: field.  However, that can become tedious quickly.
A better option might be to download an app that will allow you to save all the messages in a file, then you can edit out the ones you don't need.

  • Archiving Gmail messages

I saw one reference to someone changing their IMAP settings so that messages would be Archived in Gmail instead of Deleted when they deleted them on the Pre with a swipe. Is there, in fact, a way of doing this?  I would love to be able to archive messages on my Pre and have yet to figure out how to.  Archiving is probably my most used function in Gmail.
    Thanks.
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

thanks! i'll give it a try. is it not truly archiving because it doesn't archive all messages in the thread?  now, with your help, when i move messsages on my pre to the All Mail folder, they seem to disappear from my gmail inbox unless there are mulitple messages in the thread in my pre inbox. if i move all of the messages in the thread to All Mail, it seems to move the thread out of the inbox in gmail.
do you know what else archiving technically does?
thank you so much.  this is a HUGE help to me.

  • How do I archive IMAP messages with non Gmail/iCloud account on iOS Mail.app?

This may seem like a simple question, however I don't seem to be able to work this one out for myself. I hope you guys/girls can help!
I have my IMAP email account setup on my iPhone (own domain name, DBmail IMAP mail server running on VPS). Email works great; I can send/receive, delete, move messages no problem.
When I used MobileMe, Gmail or iCloud, I was given the option to "Archive mail" in the account configuration for that mail account in Settings.app. However, with a simple IMAP account, even though I have an "Archive" folder in my IMAP mailbox, which shows up with a suitable 'Archive-like' icon in Mail.app on my iPhone, I am not given the option to "Archive mail" - i.e. move a message from 'Inbox' to 'Archive' by touching the Archive button - Instead, I just get the delete button, which just moves messages to my 'Trash' folder in my mailbox.
Up to now, I've just put this down to Mail.app on iOS lacking this functionality. After upgrading to iOS 6 this morning (which I hoped would bring this functionality) I'm starting to question whether there's a setting or a workaround that I've missed that provides this functionality. I'm not sure I understand why Mail.app on my MAC allows me to Archive mail for my simple IMAP account, but my iOS devices won't.
Does anyone know of a way to get a simple IMAP account setup in Mail.app on iOS to 'Archive' mail, as opposed to delete? Please chime in if you have any suggestions.
    Joe

I know this is old but it's google #1 for the relevant search and it took me a while
Settings -> mail, contacts, calendars -> pick the imap account -> advanced
    Move discarded emails to:
    Pick the 'archive' option
I have no idea why, must be apple logic, but with delete being the default that's all you can do, when archive is the selection it replaces the deleted button but you can hold it down to get a delete/trash option also.

  • Archiving xml messages in PI using DAS

    Hallo,
I like to archive certain outbound messages in PI, this for security reasons. This means that a messages must be archived as soon as is enters the adapter, intergration server.
Is this possible in PI our can I only archive messages which are longer than a certain time in the database.
    Regards,
    Evert Schuiteman

    Hi Evert,
You can archive any data as you wish, that can be current also (but not recommended at all). You will have to make configuration according to that and while scheduling Write job you will have to provide duration of period which you want to archive according to your requirement,

  • Archive old messages in Apple Mail

I have several hundred clients who send me email. I have a folder set up for each one to make it easier to retrieve their past messages. I have a Mac Pro at my office at home and a PC at my office in town. I use Mobile Me to sync my email.
Does anyone know of a way to archive all the messages older than... say... 120 days in Apple mail. I know how to do it with Outlook but I don't see that functionality with Apple Mail... Am I missing something? Is there a better mail application for the Mac

Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup),  it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move this folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
    Reboot.
If that doesn't do it and you can afford to redo all your Rules, try these & reboot...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist.backup
Note, in 10.5 & up /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/ may or may not exist.

  • How to archive a message in mail app and delete in imap gmail

I've been searching the forums before asking this but have failed to find the answer.
I'd like to, if possible, use the archive function in my mail app on iMac to archive and store messages locally. At the same time I'd like to delete those messages from the Gmail servers so that my archived messages only sit on my iMac.
I've tried but Gmail creates an [IMAP]/Archive folder with the messages that I've archived on my mac.
    Is this possible?
    Thanks in advance

    Thankyou
Yes, I tried that already and it successfully stores the email locally, "On my Mac", however, the email remains within Gmail's All mail folder and is therefore not removed from Google's servers.
Is it possible to achieve this without having to go into Gmail and separately deleting the mail from All mail?
Would like to avoid the duplication if possible.
    Thanks

  • Archive Support Messages using SARA

It is my understanding that the CRM message has to be archived using the archiving object CRM_SERORD in Transaction SARA.
Does anyone have the detailed steps to correctly archive a CRM message within this transaction?

    Hi,
I'am working at the same issue. I find a Objekt CRM_GAP, but I'am not sure if this is the right one. I do my first steps in archiving objects and need some help, too.

  • Saving or Archiving All Messages in Your Inbox

I'm going to revamp my entire OS & hard drive this weekend, but i want to make sure all my mail is saved. How would I go about saving or archiving all the messages in my inbox so when I finish reinstalling my OS, I can have all my messages saved and upload them back into mail (cause my emails come off the comcast server once I recieve them)

The Mail folder is found in your user folder -- Home/Library/Mail. Copy it, and the com.apple.mail.plist file found in Home/Library/Preferences, and you can restore everything using those two items. The Address Book is found in Home/Library/Applications Support/AddressBook -- copy that if you want to save contacts.
