ArchLinux causes the router to restart

Hello!
I don't know what exactly, but something causes the router to disconnects and restarts. And dhcpcd fails after reboot.
I'm having this problem since some iso releases. Like 5 or 6 months ago.
Well, I download the ISO, I dd it to a memory stick, and boot a PC with it. Everything goes fine, I do whatever I want. But after a while the router loses Internet connection and it does not accept any device to connect. Then, I reboot the PC, and dhcpcd@<whatever>fails. It doesn't matter if it's a wireless or wired connection. To get a connection, I restart the router (turn it off and on). But the router continuously restarts itself if I continue using the ArchLinux machines.
(To get the router working again, I disconnect any ArchLinux running machine and restart the router)
Because of that I thought it was the router, but I tried with other router (at another place) with my laptop, and I got the same result. The router restarts and everything. So I thought It was my laptop. I tried with another computer (a desktop) and I got the same result. Then I said "Maybe it's the memory stick", so I tried with other one... the same result. To be sure of that, I used other distro (LMDE) on those PC's with the same memory stick and different routers. Everything worked fine.
I've searched this issue on the forum and the Bug Tracker, but I don't find this exact problem. Or maybe I didn't get it because of my English. If this post is duplicated, or it's submitted on the bug tracker, I apologize and will be thankful for someone to redirects me. If is not, here are the PCs' specs and command outputs: (all using 2014.02.01 installation media)
If other command output (or output filtering) is necesary, please let me know.

Hi!
Well, I turned off the WiFi physical switch, turned on the computer and then I did:
sudo systemctl disable NetworkManager
sudo systemctl disable dhcpcd
sudo systemctl disable netctl
I'm not sure if that's enough.
Then I rebooted the machine, connected the ethernet cable, and:
[me@there ~]$ sudo dhcpcd
dhcpcd[520]: version 6.1.0 starting
dhcpcd[520]: no interfaces have a carrier
dhcpcd[520]: forced to background, child pid 639
I ping Google, and I could reach it, but I could not connect some other device. Then:
[me@there ~]$ sudo dhcpcd -x
dhcpcd[742]: sending signal 15 to pid 639
dhcpcd[742]: waiting por pid 693 to exit
Again:
[me@there ~]$ sudo dhcpcd
dhcpcd[746]: version 6.1.0 starting
dhcpcd[746]: wlp3s0: up_interface: Operation not possible due to RF-kill
dhcpcd[746]: enp2s0: rebinding lease of 192.168.1.70
dhcpcd[746]: wlp3s0: waiting for a carrier
dhcpcd[746]: no interfaces have a carrier
dhcpcd[746]: enp2s0: soliciting a DHCP lease
dhcpcd[746]: timed out
dhcpcd[746]: forced to background, child pid 868
And, just to be sure, ping returned "unknown host".
After a while, the router restarted.
I also looked for a newer firmware for my router, but I couldn't find one, nor the manufacturer home page.
And I have thought like that, fukawi2, ArchLinux is so Up-To-Date, other things may fail.
I can request a new router to my ISP, but I may encounter this issue again when I use my laptop somewhere else.

  • Audigy 2 ZS causing the pc to restart ??

Just changed the PSU to a higher wattage and notice that the pc will start back up by itself when I shut it down. After much swearing and testing I have found out that if the Audigy card is installed the pc will restart but if I remove it the pc will shut down as intended. I am using the daughter card that came with the motherboard atm but it is Soundmax and quality is not good.
I have WOL enabled in the BIOS (because I use it) and wondered if the sound card? - as it is a PCI card - could cause the pc to restart and if it can - how can I stop it so I can use the better card.
    Anyone?

CoreCenter did not support my motherboard either after I added an Audigy2 ZS to my system. I never got any error about "nvraidservice.exe", but I removed the CoreCenter error by removing MSI Live Update Monitor from the autostart. Havnt had any problems since then. Hope it helps.

  • WRT54G as AP causing dlink router to restart

I am trying to use a WRT54Gv5 as just and access point.  To do this I have it connected to my main router over the lan connection of the WRT54G (to the lan on the dlink of coarse) and have DHCP turned off on the WRT54G, so that the dlink router handles that.  It all seems to be working properly, with wireless devices being correctly assigned ips by the main router and successfully accessing the internet.  However I have two problems.  The first one is whenever the WRT54G is running the dlink router restarts every few minutes.  I have checked and this does not happen when the WRT54G is disconnected or powered down.  For the time being I have it powered down so no wireless network currently.  This is the main problem I would like fixed.  The second problem is that I cannot access wireless devices from the LAN when the wireless is running.

If you are facing inetmitten problem with the linksys router, first thing which you can do is Upgrade the firmware of your router, and this will solve your problem. Go to website linksysbycisco.com/downloads.........insert model no of your router in serach tab......select proper version of your router........download the firmware file......save that file on desktop.Once you downloaded the firmware of your router, Disconnect your D-Link router from Linksys router, and let your computer be connected to Linksys router.
Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable.
Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware on the device : -
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on a computer hard wired to the router...
In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1...Leave the username blank & in password use admin in lower case...Click on the 'Administration' tab- Then click on the 'Firmware Upgrade' sub tab- Here click on 'Browse' and browse the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...Wait for few seconds until it shows that "Upgrade is successful"  After the firmware upgrade, click on
"Reboot" and you will be returned back to the same page OR it will say "Page cannot be displayed".Now reset your router :
Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

  • EA6350: Set up worked fine, my nw is working, but now I can't login to the router

The setup went well, I was able to configure the network wirelessly on the web-based console.  The networks are working fine (both 2.4 and 5Gz).   A few days have passed and I wanted to check out some of the other management feature of the console (checking who is logged in, etc) and keep getting the message below.  Why can't I access the router?
Your router was not successfully setup.
    Follow these steps:
    1. Press and hold the red Reset button on the back of your router for at least 10 seconds.
    2. During reset, the router will restart and the power light will flash. Wait until the power light is solid.
    3. Reconnect this computer or device to the default wireless network. You can find the wireless network name and password in the Quick Start Guide or on the label on the back of your router.
    4. When finished, click here to run through setup again.
If you follow the steps above and see this error screen again, visit our website for troubleshooting tips or to chat with a Customer Support representative. To access the website, you may have to use a different computer or mobile device that has Internet access, or connect this computer directly to your modem.

  • After Effects CS6 crashes, causing my iMac to restart

After Effects CS6 crashes, causing my iMac to restart.
I want to buy AE CS6, so I downloaded the 30-day trial version.
I followed all the instructions to install it properly and followed several tutorials to optimize it for my computer.
    This is what I use:
    iMac 27''
    CPU:
    3,2 GHz Intel Core i3
    memory:
    16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
    archive:
    1 TB
    graphics card:
ATI Radeon HD 5670 512 MB
    operating system:
    OS X 10.8.2 (12C60)
    we are filming with:
    Canon 5D Mark II
    File format:
    QuickTime (.mov)
Based on everything I've read, my iMac has all the system prerequisites to use AE, and all the other programs that I use for video and audio recording and editing ( Final Cut X, Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Photoshop CS6, etc. ), work perfectly, run smoothly and never crash.
After Effects CS6 crashes constantly, causing the computer to restart. It seems to run smoothly, then I start a render and it crashes; or I start a color correction with Curves and it crashes. Each and every time the computer restarts by itself.
I've tried rendering smaller portions of video at a time, sometimes it finishes the rendering, sometimes not.
Hope somebody can help me! Thanks.
    Hilary

Your post is not much use to anyone. You are not telling us anything about your operating system, storage locations, output settings and whatever else may be relevant. The magic sauce is all in the details, not a generic assumption that this would be some bug or known issue.

  • Port forwarding causes base station to restart

    Hi guys
I have purchased an AirPort Extreme Wireless Base Station. Besides its good looks and everything I have run into a little irritation.
When I want to forward a port to my local IP and clicks update the router automatically restarts. I can remember when I had my Linksys router it just updated the port scheme without restarting. Is it really true that it isn't the case with the AirPort Extreme?
801.11n Wi-Fi   Windows XP Pro   CD version 1.0

    Hello there,
can you explain me how do you made Port Forwarding on the AirMac Extreme? I need to do it to connect my SlingBox (www.slingbox.com) to the AirMac to watch TV outside my Home. I can watch wireless in my Home but I get an error about PortForwarding to be connected to the Internet for outside viewing.
I have to PortForwarding only the Airmac or also the ADSL Modem I have connected to the Airmac?
    Thank You

  • We have 2 iPad 2's. For one of them it must be very close to the router to pick up a wifi signal. We have restarted and reset it without success. Help!

We have 2 iPad 2's. For one of them it must be very close to the router to pick up a wifi signal. We have restarted and reset it without success. Using 7.1.1.

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at
    http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

  • Air play in Apple Tv disconnects with no reason, and I need to restart the router to connect again. Meanwhile apple tv is connected to wi if. Can somebody help?

Air Play in my Apple TV disconnects from iPhone or Mac book after some time of playing. I need to restart the router in order to connect again. Apple tv is connected to wifi succesfully? Any suggestion?

I tried something new yesterday after reading all these messages.  My ATV3 was situated on top of my satellite box and I noticed that it was quite warm.  The instruction manual suggests that the box not go over a certain temperature, so I moved the box to a location without the heat under it.  It now works without any problem at all...at least, so far.

  • When my 4S connects to my home wifi, it kicks all other devices off and the router has to be restarted.  Can anyone help?

I am using an iPhone 4S with 16gb memory.  I did not yet update to iOS 8.  I'm using 7.1.2.  I have never had any problems previously using 3G or wifi.  We just moved and have a new Netgear router supplied by our new ISP.  We have ADSL connection.  The router seems to be working fine for all the devices in the house.  At any time we may have 2 or 3 laptops connected, as well as Kindle Fires, iPod Touches, and my husband's iPhone (which is the same make, model, year as mine).  My iPhone will connect, but usually within minutes after connecting my iPhone 4S (though sometimes 30 minutes or more later), it kicks everyone offline and the router needs to be restarted.  The router shows appropriate green lights and I can see it on my list of available networks, but if I try to connect I get the "unable to connect to this network" message until we restart the router.  No one else is able to reconnect until the restart, either.
I have tried resetting network settings on my iPhone.  I have completely turned off my iPhone and the router.  I have talked with someone at our ISP and they did a reset of the router with me.  They think the router is bad.  But it works completely fine for everyone else in the house, so I can't help but think we are having a connection issue between the router and my iPhone.
Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated!  Thank you!

Is her iPhone in a case by any chance?  If so, remove the case and try again.  How does her iPhone work in free Wi-Fi locations?
    Try resetting the iPhone...
Press and hold the Home and On/Off buttons simultaneously until you see the Apple logo, then release.  This may take up to 10 seconds.  This is the equivalent of a re-boot and you will not lose any data.
If none of the above work take it to an Apple store or AASP for evaluation.  She will not be charged folr this and they will suggest a solution if there is a fault.

  • Connecting to home internet via airport - always need to restart the router

I set my home PC as the main station to connect to my ISP. With a wireless router (linksys Wireless-B), I used to share the internet connection to other wireless devices, for instanace, my palm and ibook, my sister's notebook PC and Pocket PC. once, I took my ibook to an internet cafe, which gives free wireless connection facilities. My ibook obviously scanned the wireless network, and was connected (as I noted from the Summary of the "internet Connection". but, when I activate Safar, it said that it could bring me to any website because my computer is not connected to internet. it's very strange, as the Internet Connection said it's connected to the wireless network. The Safari page suggests me to run "network diagnosis". i follow the instruction, and it says I should restart the router and then it would work. I didn't succeed. A while later, it connected. I thought it was okay.
Then, this problem comes up even when I am using my home's internet connection via the airport. I use DHCP to connect to my home internet connection. though the airport summary page said that it's connected to my router (the IP address is my router's address), again, Safari said my computer is not connected to internet, so it didn't work. I followed the instruction of the Network Diagnosis, it again asked me to restart my router device. I also noted from the Airport Section of the Network Perference that, it says the airport has a self-designated IP addres, so it may not connect to the itnernet. later on, I retarted the router and the modem (without turn on my home PC), the ibook connected to the internet.
i checked the router setting of my home PC. I'm sure that it's open to all wireless user. Strange through, after I update the settings (even though i didn't make any changes, perhaps the action of 'save settings', it's kind of equivalent to the action of restarting it), my ibook's connection works. When my retarted my PC and ibook, the connection problem comes up again.
it's very frustrating. Does it mean that I need to restart my router everytime? What about if I want to connect to wireless hotspot outside?
    Please please help

Your problem description is complicated, making it hard to figure out what exactly is wrong. Unfortunately, WiFi does this quite often.
To avoid this kind of problem, you should set up different Locations in your Network Preferences for different places that you connect up. That is, make one location for your Internet cafe and another for home. Leave the Automatic location alone.
For locations you know you are going to connect by WiFi, go to Network Port Configurations and drag Airport to the top of the list to give it priority.
If you have a location, where you want an ethernet connection or want to use your internal modem only, then drag those options to the top. Get the idea?
MacOS seems to get confused sometimes when you switch back and forth between different connections all the time. This will not happen if you tell MacOS where you are by explicitly setting a location.
To get out of a situation where MacOS thinks you are connected to non-existent ethernet connection, go into
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration
    and delete the NetworkInterfaces.plist file.

My wireless router needed restart. And, no Apple TV signal. How do I reset the Apple TV box? no lite. nothing

The remote app requires both to be on the same network and home sharing to be enabled, you will need the physical remote to set this up. You can purchase a replacement through Apple.

  • How to find the route cause of the issue in one Z-transaction

    Hi,
I am analysing one Z-transaction is created by one standard program RHU_HELP and the Z-transaction is  ZHOMO03.
In that transaction one parameter field is P_BATCH.
If parameter P_BATCH is blanks then no records showing in the output but if I give the value 0* then it gives the ALV output.
So Itried to debug the program RHU_HELP, but there is no ALV function module REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY.
I tried to find the final internal table where the ALV output getting displayed but not getting.
Can anyone give the idea to find the route cause of the issue.
    Waiting for quick response.
    Best Regards,
    BDP

    Hi
What is the output format. It is ALV output you are getting. If not ALV function module is not used.
There migh be some class function module it might have used. Please check is the below function module
    called
    FM : SET_TABLE_FOR_FIRST_DISPLAY.
