Archlinux website logo link

Not sure where this ought to go, but while browsing the archlinux.org, I noticed that the logo in the upper left corner typically links back to "www.archlinux.org". However, from the AUR, it links to "aur.archlinux.org". Perhaps this was by design, although to me it seems inconsistent and if it is a bug, I thought I'd to point it out.

Mobile Website Logo

I have the iPhone 3G and I have my own website (who doesn't now). I want to know how to make my website logo/favicon become the logo I see on the iPhone shortcut/app screen. (i.e. Yahoo! or Google - if you make either a shortcut on your "desktop" it becomes a logo rather than a screenshot.) Is this something I control or does Apple control this?

Creating a high quality website logo in Photoshop or Illustrator

I'm trying to create a very high quality crips website logo using Photoshop or Illustrator, but everytime I export the design into PNG, the text borders are not as crip compared with Google logo. How do I create a very crips and sharp logo using Adobe software? Please tell me what software, how to export, what the size of the document should be, what resolution, any detailed tricks, designs and pointers would be helpful. I know I can create a logo, but it is blurry and it shows. When I put my logo on a gray background for instance, the text becomes more blurrier. You know the deal.

The question points to several areas of digital design fundamentals that indicate you need to educate yourself through classes, books, tutorials. The PS Forum can't really get at all the issues you bring up; resolution, vector vs raster, web graphics, transparency and the web. You are asking how to make a logo and that is a really broad request not easily answered.
A quick search for "Photoshop for Web Design" yields a lot of possibilities. There are a lot of books and a lot of free and not so free online tutorials.

Why is my company logo not displayed in encrypted envelope via CRES?
From an active CRES account, please verify the following:
The Envelope Profile on the CRES account and the Email Encryption Profile Name on the Email Security Appliance (ESA) must match.
Logo should be at most 60x160 pixels, less than 100kb.
Applies to .gif and .jpg files only.
Since the CRES servers do sync based on periodic schedules, there are times where the logo may take up to 24 hours to propagate. Most of the time this should occur within 1 hour.
For setting up more than one logo you may use the Multi-Branding feature introduced in AsyncOS 7.0.

I've heard that it will also cancel your current contract. That isn't such a huge deal unless your current contract is an unlimited one--you can never get it back.
Does anyone know for sure? I've asked AT&T and received a "Yes it will cancel your current contract." and "No, it is a new contract--you keep your old contract if you wish." I suspect it is the former but it would be good to know for sure before ordering the service.

Does anyone else have problems with built in website url links in a PDF not working in iBooks?

I have several magazine PDF files that have lots of website url links built in to them.
When I click the links when viewing the PDFs via iBooks they often don't work.
However, the exact same PDF when viewing/clicking using other PDF apps like GoodReader work perfectly fine.
Nothing else is different except which app I am using to view the PDFs.
Anyone?

It would appear iBook app doesn't support hyperlinks except within a document.

Captivate 3 logo/link

On the playbar there is an info button. This button brings up
a box which contained the author info, email etc (if you entered
this info)
At the bottom is a "Captivate 3" logo which also serves as a
link back to the adobe site.
Is there a way to remove this, or better yet replace with

If you have Flash and know how to use it, much is possible.
Then again, all you need has already been explained in this thread.
Just using Captivate as it is out of the box and not having any Flash skills, the answer is no.

I switched from Explorer to FireFox recently and all the shortcut icons I've created since all show the FireFox logo. How do I get the shortcuts to show the website/company logos they link to. It's enough to go back to Explorer. Driving my eyes crazy.

Many thanks for your reply, Waka – guess you're right that it's a new add on or bust... I still find it odd that such a common UI feature across mobile browsers is unavailable in FF24 either as an option under settings or as an add-on. Surely, I'm not the only person who finds this puzzling?

I am not sure if you could provide a link (hyperlink) to a logo created through SharedComponents > Application > Definition, but still have a work around.
Create a zero page and have an image created with hyperlink, in a region closer to Logo's position (something like Region Position 6 in Theme 3).
Example of hyperlink in the region :
<img src=#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#abc.bmp>
Image, abc.bmp, would be hyperlinked to the page 1. You could replace the "f?p=.." to any external website as well.

When I click on links in websites the links don't work unless I right click and choose open website in another tab/window. This is even a problem on the Firefox page.

When I try to open a link on any page/website Firefox does not open the link. It doesn't even "work" at opening the link, it just sits idling. I have to right click and choose "open link in new tab/window" in order for Firefox to open the link. It doesn't happen 100% of the time but happens especially if there is a button or picture that must be clicked. Simple text links seem to work more often then button or picture links. One example provided below. When you click on the "launch Jumpstart" button it will not open unless you right click & open new. This also happens from my Yahoo! Email account, on Facebook, Cructhfield.com and other websites with "button" related links.

I have the same problem but it appears that an add-on I'm using is causing the problem. Try opening Firefox in safe mode (which disables add-ons) Then try it. If that solves the problem, you need to disable all your add ons and enable them one by one to figure out which one(s) is causing the problem.

I don't want everything added or saved in the location bar. Only urls that I used a lot used to be saved there but now every single url (and url within a url)I visit is being added to it.

A possibility is to open the links via the right-click context menu or a middle-click in a new tab to make sure that Firefox sees them as regular links.

I am having serious issues trying to open websites/pages or links which i have never had before. For instance when i open Firefox and my tabs start to load, sites such as Yahoo, Gamespot or Fox News struggle to open (these are just an example of a wider picture) Other times Firefox just freezes either for Minutes on end or completely until it either crashes or i have to task manage out of it. Firefox has total privelages through both my antivirus software and the in built Microsoft firewall. I never used to have this problem and speaking to some friends some of them are experienceing the same thing and due to the lack of help from Firefox have reverted to using Explorer. I do not recieve any error messages or messages stating there are problems with any of the sites that struggle or fail to open. I have tried disabling all add-ons and starting Firefox in save mode but no luck. I have also tried to change the settings in Options / Privacy - History from Remeber History to Use custom settings for history but this just keeps reverting back to original setting. Any help would be greatly appreciated as i don't want to return to using Windows Explorer.

FF4 has problems with script-heavy sites. There are two solutions:
1) Downgrade to 3.6
OR
2) Use a different broser

How to make my website logo show as the new Yosemite favourites icon?

I've been searching high and low for the answer to this question so I hope someone maybe able to help me.
When you click in the address bar in safari using Yosemite you get the icons from the websites that you have as a favourite.
Some, like Facebook have their logo automatically appear. Others, including my website have not shown up.
I have added a photo to help explain what I mean.
As you can see ART55 and Twitter have the safari icon. While the others show their logo.
How do I get my website to show its logo as the icon?
Any help would be very much appreciated.

You need to setup an Apple touch icon for your website so Safari can use it.

Website logo needs to sit on top of backgropund image with no box

I am trying to create a logo with a transparnt background for my website, so my logo can sit on top of background images. I have created different file, png, gif, eps all with transparent backgrounds but everytime I upload it to my website builder (wix) it has either a grey or white background. Can someone advise on how I would ahcieve the correct file?

Presuming you are referring to the large grey box, I agree with Gonzalogxg.
If you are referring to what appears to be a white fringe, it should only occur in GIF and only if you have a Matte colour different from the background, but not in PNG and EPS.
