Archos 7: the file path is not valid

Hi,
I installed Adobe Readwe on my Archos 7 Tablet (Android 2.1).
Every time I try to open a file the message "the file path is not valid" shows.
Could you please help me ?

I'm having the same problem.
I just recently downloaded and installed the Acrobat Reader on my Archos 7 (home tablet). The installation run without any problems. But whenever I try to open a PDF file, a message shows up, telling me "Error: The file path is not valid".
I have tried almost every single folder on my tablet. Does the PDF file need a specific file name? Do I have to create a folder (what would be it's name)?
I haven't tried to download PDFs from the internet... it might work, but it would be great, if I can copy some PDFs from my computer to my tablet, too.
Please Help!

Windows XP, SP3, Lightroom 2.5.
External hard drive starts acting funny. Round here we expect hard drive failure, so I order a new drive and when it arrives copy the backup onto the new drive. The new drive has the same drive letter as the old one, but not the same name. When I try to open a catalog I get: "The temporary file path is not valid. Lightroom cannot start." The catalogs seem to be fine, as when I open lightroom directly, not by clicking the .lrcat file, catalogs look normal. If I copy the lrcat file to my internal hard drive it opens. If I create a new catalog on the external drive I get the same problem.
I have tried deleting the preferences file. I have tried deleteing and reinstalling lightroom. I have used the external HD on another computer with lightroom and it opens normally.
All I can imagine is that there is some setting, somewhere in the registry which does not get erased when the lightroom gets re-installed. Any guesses?
I am at a loss! Please hope me!

Could be your Windows tempfile path is messed up. You could try going to Control Panel/Advanced and pushing the Environment Variables button.See what the TEMP and TMP variables are set to.
Under "User Variables", both of mine are set to C:\Documents and Settings\<my name>\Local Settings\Temp.
Under "System Variables", both are set to C:\Windows\Temp.
Make sure that the directories referred to are legal and on accessible drives. Make sure they aren't read-only. It wouldn't hurt to create them if they don't exist.
It's worth a try, I think.

Opening PDFs get "file path is not valid" errmsg

very strange...
I dumped a bunch of PDFs, word, excel & ppt files onto the documents folder.
All the PDFs give me "file path is not valid" errmsg and cannot be opened.
But the word, excel & ppt files can be opened.
Can someone help me figure it out?

I feel also compelled to mention that I've had a ticket open at rim for this issue since 04/21 and have been escalated numerous times and yet all this time rim support has had no clue how simple the problem is to fix. This solution was posted >2 full days ago.

In Elements 13, when trying to save, I get this message:Could not save a copy as "agb3_2014:09_054.tif" because the file name was not valid.

I use Nikon NX2 then save as a TIFF file then do final editing in Elements. With Elements 8, I could then save as a JPEG file and upload to Flickr. With Elements 13, I get this message and cannot save:
Could not save a copy as “agb3_2014:09_054.tif” because the file name was not valid.
I note the colon (:) in the file name. I did not place it there. It is some automatic save. Typically I save as 2014/09
It is probably some setting I need to adjust but I am stumped. All help is welcome.

Don't use the slash, either. Stick to no punctuation except dashes and underscores for safety's sake. Other punctuation usually has another meaning in code.

component "FF_SRC_InboundFidelityInputFile" (1) failed the pre-execute phase and returned error code 0xC020207E.
although this package is working fine in dev environment from visual studio.
control-m agent has proper permissions to the folder still it is failing. Please if anyone knows solution for this issue. I am working on this issue since more than a week but reached nowhere. Please help.

Could not initialize photoshop, because the file name was not valid

Hello,
my friend (not very good with computers) asked me to fix his Photoshop 8, because "it just stopped working one day". When I try to run it, I see splash screen, initializing photoshop, something about TWAIN, and then:

followed by crashing the Photoshop. I tried reinstalling Photoshop, resetting user preferences, even deleting all user settings from Documents and Settings folder, but nothing - I keep getting this error. I tried plugging in his camera, usb flash disks, because I thought Photoshop may created scratch file or something in there - but it didnt work.
So I decided to install him my copy of Photoshop CS3, just to make sure its some bug in Photoshop 8, but I didnt believe my eyes - after installing, im getting the exact error again.
And now Im completely lost - I was unable to google the error message, looks like Im the first person ever who happened to see it.
His computer is about two years old, 2 GHz cpu, 512 MB RAM, some decent video card, 100 GB space left on disks, operating system is Win XP SP2.
I would really appreciate any help, thank you in advance

also have you tried creating a new user with admin rights to see if it's an id issue? (sorry, there's several similar theads going on and i sometimes forget what i've read where.) there was just a guy yesterday that solved a similar problem by creating a new id. we could never tell what the problem was with the old one...

I am trying to sync my 5th gen. nano. However, I keep getting an error message. The message says: The iPod, "whoever's" iPod cannot be synced. The file format is not valid. Don't know what to do except restore factory settings.

I could not find anything on this particular problem on apples support site. Any suggestions would be greatly apprecaited.

Are you manually syncing or automatically syncing? If the latter, try syncing manually.
If you are getting the "the file format is not valid" message, suggest that you check out KB Article: http://support.apple.com/kb/sp569 which will tell you which files are "acceptable."

Looks like. I tried in the TextEdit format tab to set all the combinations while opening the file, like plain text, rtf and html without success. Always I get the same signs.

I have recently purchased a new desktop under WIN 7 as well as Adobe Creative Suite CS6.
My first internal hard disk is 2 TB, the second one installed is from my old PC, 250 GB.
I am getting this error when trying to save a file over an existing file using the “Save” command.
The message is wrong, because the file name IS valid.
This error is persistent.
This error does not occur when doing the same action on my second internal hard disk.
This error happens on files larger than about 1MB in weight.
What happens is that the original file over which I try to do the ”Save” command gets corrupted and lost.
If I don't use the “Save as” command to save my work under a different name, my work is lost.
The same problem occurs with both PS CS6 versions, 64 Bit and 32 Bit.
I am very disappointed and annoyed with this happening.
Any idea what is going on here?

I think I have resolved this.
I forgot to mention that I have Sugarsync over that file structure.
However, I do not know if Sugarsync has anything to do with the error.
I copied the whole folder structure under a newly created folder, and I am no longer getting the error.

Last night LR2.0 shut down on me and now this is the error message I am receiving. I am on a MacBook Pro, OSX 10.4.11. I'd love some assistance on this, as I am in the middle of several projects.

Did the odd little trick work??- And the key is that LR has to be shut down; there
b should be a *.lock file when LR is running.
Prefs- Your preferences file- doubt that there's any problem with it as you seem to have not used a lot of different versions. It keeps track of all catalogs' locations, but can't do so when catalog is moved in Finder. [It does a bunch of other things, too....]

I flatten a layered file, 'save as' to a folder as a psd file. Everything is fine. I then want to 'Save as' again, to a different folder with a slightly different name, and I get this message: "Could not save as "AP3_BabesMain.psd" because the file name is not valid."
This is a one-layer file, nothing unusual about it. I just saved using 'save as'. What has the name got to do with anything? I can't close this file until i save it, so I am stuck. Can anyone give me a suggestion? And please, just because the name has 'Babes' in it does not mean it's porn! Serious replies only please.

I just had the same problem with a file that wouldn't save. I kept getting the "invalid file name" message, even if I checked that box. It wouldn't accept the name no matter what I tried.
Since I had nothing in the document but a little text, I created a new one, saved it the way I wanted with no problem. As to why the program wouldn't save the other one, I have no idea. Does anyone?

Can't import csv file to Address Book - "file you selected not valid" error

I'm trying to import a CSV file of names and addresses to Address Book but it keeps telling me "The file you selected does not appear to be a valid comma separated values (csv) file nor a valid tab delimited file."
Even using this simple test data saved in a txt file:
John,Doe,London
Jane,Doe,Dallas
Anyone know a reason why the file could be not valid?

Your file needs to have the .csv extension on the end, so that Address Book knows how to interpret it.

SCCM 2012 - Adding Operating System Installer (The specified path does not contain a valid operating system ..)

I have encountered the dreaded "The specified path does not contain a valid operating system or you do not have permission to access it. Specify a valid path" message that seems to be popular in many forums .... BUT, so far none of the "solutions"
have fixed the problem (of I don't understand the fix)
Configuration
SCCM 2012 SP1 5.0.7804.1000
WADK 8.100.26629.0 < Suggested Fix
Server 2008 R2
SCCM Administrator with UserID = SCCMAdmin
Steps / Fixes I have followed
I have configured a administrative share
\\caleb\sources$ to hold directories (such as Apps, Drivers, and OS) with the following NTFS Permissions
EVERYONE has Read and Execute, List folder, Read permissions<o:p></o:p>
SYSTEM has Full Control
<Suggested Fix
SCCMManagers (our group that has all SCCMManagers) has Full Control<o:p></o:p>
SCCMAdmin (the SCCM Admin account that we are using to import image) has Full Control<o:p></o:p>
Local Administrators (the local machine administrator) has Full Control
<Suggested Fix
<o:p></o:p>
Another Fix is to explicitly grant all permissions to the SCCM Administrator

Another suggestion I was able to glean was to Specify the Network Access Account
so I configured SCCMAdmin as the Network Access Account.
Another potential fix is that the image ISO file that has been downloaded is corrupt.   So, I downloaded the Win 7 (and Win 8.1) ISO's from MSDN and did a Checksum check.
I then mounted the ISO (on 2008R2 I use VirtualClone Drive) and copied the contents of the image to
E:\Sources\OS\en_windows_7_professional_with_sp1_vl_build_x86_dvd_u_677896 for Windows 7 with SP1
To double check,
I computed the Hash on the Install.WIM located in the Sources directory and compared with
the computed Has Tag for the Install.WIM on the ISO Image ... and the Hash tag of the WIM's matched (extracted vs what is contained within the ISO)<o:p></o:p>
I tried to load the images into SCCM 2012 using the "Operating System Installers" option

Pdf file error.this path is not valid
