Archserver project: Is it official?

Hi,
I have a simple homeserver that was running debian lenny until it fell over, I think it was because the HDD was full. Instead of fixing it I installed the new hardware I was meaning to use for months and then proceeded to setup Arch on it. I run Arch on my desktop with gnome and love the KISS approach over a distro like ubuntu, which I now find confusing I might add.
I post a lot on another forum and a gentleman on there suggested "Archserver" project, is it an official project or is it a fork? Anyone using it? Anyone like it?
My homeserver only runs sabnzbd, mediatomb, transmission-cli, SAMBA and NFS, so nothing worth crying over if the server needs fixing one day. Normal Arch runs great on it so i'm reluctant to start again unless people say "archserver" project is brilliant.

ArchServer Project

Here's a project for everyone who wants to use Arch as their Server distro!
I know there's been some attempts before at creating a 'stable' Arch, but this is subtly different in that it's aimed purely at servers -- eg, no GUI or desktop apps. ArchServer will focus on packages that provide hosting services of one type or another on top of a base system. Basically taking Arch and making a release-based version aimed at servers.

Regarding the website design -- yes, it's obviously based strongly on the ArchLinux site. Personally no, but I guess if someone wants to write and maintain PKGBUILD's for them, then I guess they could be included. If nothing else, everything will remain compatible with standard Arch so packages can be mix and matched.

The only problem I can see if if someone installs from the standard Arch ISO, then switches to the ArchServer repos, they will most likely already have packages several versions ahead of what is in the repo (eg, if ArchServer has kernel26-lts 2.6.27, a standard Arch install at the moment will give the user 2.6.30 IIRC). The user will have to manually downgrade everything.

Correct that they shouldn't break anything, but erring on the side of caution, there shouldn't be anything that *requires* 5.3 at this point in time so better to stick with 5.2 IMHO. A future release will include 5.3 once all the webapps etc have had a chance to 'catch up'

How to get new project added -- CM13 and Win7 64bit?

Has anyone had issues on a windows 7 64bit machine in CM13 getting a new project added?

Officially CM 13 is not tested and supported on 64-bit operating systems.
Have you tried running the Internet Explorer browser in 32-bit mode?
What java version do you have installed?

How to Output Rich Text Format.

Hi everyone, i use a rich text editor called tiny mce in my web application. After i click the submit button the value inside the text area would be saved in my database including the HTML tags e.g. <i>Sample Report edited via Tiny MCE Rich Text Editor<i>. I need to output the text in a webuijsf static text component but the moment i see the output the tags are still there and the text is not in italics format. Does anyone know how to output it in static text with the design in it?

How to Output to MXF format

We edit with FCPx 10.0.3. We are having all kinds of problems trying to render the files to meet specs required by a broadcast station. The program, for airing on Australian TV, is an edited version of a US program supplied to us in NTSC format which we edit in FCPx.
Is it possible to create a rendered file in the following MXF format, and if so, what do I need to do it? Compressor4 doesn't seem capable.
MXF OP1a, MPEG2
Video format: SD Long GOP 4:2:0 @8 Mbps
Audio format: 2ch 16bit PCM0 48 KHz

Using AS3-components within Linux

Hi there,
I'm still kind of new to the ActionScript 3 part within flash
and never did work with any official Adobe components yet, but
since I want to do so now I need them. I tried using FlexSDK but
for now to no avail. There sure is the possibility of
MXML-projects, but unfortunately not for Linux, which I'm working
on.
I tried different tutorials and examples on the net; didn't
find anything working though. Most of these scripts try to import
some fl.* classes that I don't seem to have.
Is it possible to make a pure AS3-project with the official
components from Adobe within Flex SDK on Linux?
Or is there some other way I maybe could import them from
Flash/FlexBuilder?

Thank you Ned for that information. I have finally got some time to get back to this project. Here is what I have found. I put a trace on those objects and they are defined as TextInputs and RadioButtons.
And here is what my Timeline looks like. They are on the form layer and as is shown they animate upward from frame 1 - frame 10. Then in frame 20 the actionscript is called that I have listed previously, as well as a stop(); command. Then when the form is submitted the player proceeds and there is an animation to drop the form layer down and raise a Thank You prompt verifying that the form was submitted. And then in frame 50 another stop(); is called.
I am just missing why these objects are invisible when the .fla is rendered. Any help is appreciated to get this problem solved.
I have done preliminary testing to have the form there (no animation in) and when the form is submitted the Thank You slide covers the form. This graphically works, I have not tested the code yet. So, I may have found a round about way to fix the problem. I would still like to know though why when the textInput and RadioButton elements are placed in a graphic to be animated, they disappear.

Server kernel install?

Hello. How can I install server type kernel (that supports up to 32 cpu's and 64GB ram)?

16 is the current supported number on 64-bit. Any 64-bit kernel will support up to 64 exebytes of RAM.
The 32-bit kernel support 8 CPU's and does not have PAE enabled so 4GB is the RAM limit.
Seeing this thread, I will be enabling 32 CPU's in the kernels for the ArchServer Project once it's up and running (http://www.archserver.org)

There is no harm in having multiple A-V software installations as long as only one is running real-time / on-access detection in the background. That will cause you a lot of slowness as they struggle to scan files simultaneously. It's unlikely that any of them will find anything that isn't already detected by OS X as long as you keep it fully up-to-date, don't disable it's protection and pay attention to alerts they give you.
I have at least six A-V products installed at the moment, but only use them for testing and rarely have one of them running background processes other than updates.

Project Server / Project Pro = Cut and Paste official best practices to avoid corruption

It is pretty common knowledge among Project Server veterans that Cut and Paste between Project Pro files can cause corruption with the assignment table. This leads to Publish and Reporting (Project Publish)
failures. I just went through an upgrade from Project Server 2007 to 2013 and a LOT of files had to be rebuilt from scratch.
I ask my users to not Cut and Paste within or between project files. They do not always listen.
I have looked and cannot find official Microsoft text on the subject or at least some sort of official best practices doc. It would help me prevent some corruption if I had a doc with a Microsoft logo that says “It is not recommended….”
Or “If you do this you will make your admin cry…”
If this doc is right in front of me and I just missed it I apologize in advance.

To the best of my knowledge, there is no such Best Practice document from Microsoft. Based on my experience with Project Server from Project Central through Project Server 2013, following are some items that can cause corruption in your project:
Use of special characters in the name of the project.
Cutting/copying/pasting entire task rows within a single enterprise project or between multiple enterprise projects.
Opening an enterprise project on your laptop while connected to a wireless network, then closing the laptop lid, walking to another room in the building when you pass from one wireless access point to another, and then opening the laptop lid again.
I learned this from one of our former clients.
Beyond this, there are some other items that will not corrupt your project, but which will cause problems with saving or publishing a project. These items include:
Using blank rows in the project.
Using special characters in task names.
Task names that start with a space character (this sometimes happens when copying and pasting from an Excel workbook).
In both Project Server 2010 and 2013, the recommended method for resolving a corrupted project is to use the Save for Sharing feature. Refer to my directions in the following thread on how to use the Save for Sharing feature:

Adobe Premiere Elements 0.9 project crash, HELP!

This is the first time I am using these forums, so I hope I posted this in the right sektions.
I need help and solutions for a Project which constantly crashes on my Adobe Premiere Elements 0.9. This program has been awesome and helped me create some projects and videos successfully, up until.... well for about 3 days ago when my latest project crashed when I had just antered and checking the storyboard etc, triggering a "Serious Error" message and then it shuts down. I try again and again, but everytime I try to put something (any sound or video etc) on the storyboard and start working etc the same damn "Serious Error" message and then allways shuts down. It's allways this same and only project (which has worked fine before) that crashes like this...
In an attempt to first solve the problem myself I went through the Premiere Elements 9 files and deleted finnished projects and automatic saved process on projects etc, but still won't work even better... The funny thing is that when I open another project (a finnished project I left saved just in case) and go through the storyboard there and messes around a little and such, it won't crash nor trigger the same message as my latest project. And that program even has some effects on every footageclip on it too, but still it works fine. Haven't touched the program or the program until and since yesterday night to give it some rest but it still won't work, the project just keeps crashing like when and since it first started a few days ago.
I have also read through and tried some things from this Help/Troubleshoot page:

I have so far been doing 1 and 2 of the "Beginning Troubleshooting", otherwise I have been reading it all and such. I am also kinda afraid to do the 3 of the first quests because I worked so hard on this project and even tough it just keeps crushing, I'm afraid to lose it. Other, I have deleted audios and such from my filegallery on my Adobe Premiere Eements, stuff I don't need anymore because its projects are already done. After I did that I also tried to create a new project just for testing. The amazing this about this is that this the new created project I created works just fine, I could do all kinds of the stuff, effects and advanced editing which I did on the same project before it started crushing. Tough I didn't save that test-project since I didn't find a reason to since it worked so good. And so the thing is that I can start and create a new project and start working and do usual stuff on it with no problem, same when I open up another project and do stuff, it all works just fine! It is just this one and only project that keeps crushing with this "Serious Error" message, all the time... Does anybody else have, or has had the same problem? What could the problem and error be and how to fix it?
This crushing project do has some effects on every footageclip/videoclip on it, to set the right mood for the musicvideo I'm making. I am making a musicvideo, and I haven't even done the half of the project/video. The song I am making this musicvideo with is about 00:07:32 in length, and (tough this detail may have no influence or meaning) the music is Symphonic Metal. The actual file of the song is 6,96 MB in size. This is also not the first time I've done such projects with such long songs on this same program either, one of my last videos I managed to successfully make and create a musicvideo with a song which was about 13 minutes and 30 seconds in length, and I also used effects on pretty much every videoclip on that project too.
The current filesize so far on the actual project.prel-file of my project that keeps crushing is 9.73 MB.
I am also using Adobe Premiere Elements and doing this troubleing, crashing project on a PC, a Fujitsu Windows (I believe Windows 7, or even updated to a newer version?). It has a regular ATI-card. The computer also has 2 modems and there's still some pretty GB amount free on them. The PC's main system also has a RAM in 6.00 GB and the operative system is the 64-bites.
In short, the PC should just fine be able to handle Adobe Premiere Elements 0.9 and all its projects, just as it has handled it all before plus all my PC games at that. So it must be something with my Adobe Premiere Elements and that specific project which is the problem, but what is the problem and the serious error and how to fix it?
Could it help to save and create the actual video in this crashing project, delete that project then start a new project, upload and put in the videofile of the crashing project in that new project and then continue from there?
In either cases, I need help with this. Please, help!

Even tough I trust you guys enough here on the official Adobe site/forums to answer those questions as best I can, I am at the same time not very fond of giving away too much information because of safety. I understand I have to If I'm to recieve the accurate answers and solution, but as this is the internet you can never know. But again, I trust you guys enough on here and thus I'll try to answer those questions as best I can, even tough I am not very good with such stuff about computers. The PC I am using is also not only mine, it is the family computer also which me and my whole family uses.
The operating system on my computer (according to the computer propotions etc) is a 64-bites operating system and the computer/PC is also a Windows 7 Home Premium.
The processor the computer/PC have is a Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU and the RAM is 6.00 GB. However, (and I hope I make this understandable because the computer/PC is in swedish)the subscore of RAM in the computer's Performance-Classification/Ranking is 7,5. The processor subscore is 7,3 per second. And the free space? Well, we have two modems, let's say a modem A and a modem B. Adobe Premiere Elements 0.9 is set to save all its stuff etc on modem B, while modem A is the main modem and spaces all main stuff and other things of the computer/PC. Modem A has about 314 GB of free space, while modem B has 207 GB of free space. Modem A's capacity is a total of 489 GB in which 175 GB has been used, the modems filesystem is a NTFS. Modem B is also a NTFS filesystem and its capacity is a total of 439 GB in which 232 GB has been used. And the Disk Cleanup? I believe my that latest ran it for about a few weeks ago. We also have a CCleaner also. But about the Disk Defragmenter, I have no idea. What exactly does a Disk Defragmenter do?
You mean, entering my project that keeps crushing and simply rename it by using "Save As"? If that is what you mean, I dunnow If that actually worked. When I still tried to do stuff and edit the crashing project (tough as said, it hardly took any changes and process before it triggered that message) and then crashed and shut down, and I opened up the program again (trying to open the same project that way), it asked me If I wanted to re-create the missing process from the last crash of the same project. I tried it and it automaticly was renamed to a for example Project.copy. But when I tried to work with that it was to no futher success, the project kept crashing. I haven't renamed the project by "Save As" tough, but I doubt it'll work, I even tried to rename the actual project file in the Adobe Premiere Elements files but nope... the project keeps crashing. But also about the same question, "Save As" under a new name but in its own folder? You mean the actual project folder or Adobe Premiere Elements preview folder of the projects?
My camcorder is pretty old by now, have had it since I turned 15, it has worked pretty good since then. Its model is a Sony Handycam, Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar OPTICAL 20x. Even tough the last thing maybe doesn't say anything, this is all I know about my camcorder, except that it is a model no. DCR-HC17E PAL. But in that Project which keeps crashing, there are only a few actual camcorder clips used as I am making a Game-MusicVideo and most of the footage of the Video-game (actually a PC game) I'm making a musicvideo of is downloaded from Youtube mostly from a guy I asked permission for to download his recorded footage of the game. I used a Youtube downloader called ClipConverter. As I don't have a SD card I cannot make this footage myself. But some footage I recorded on my camcorder, but If I can find high quality clips and get them, I will. The other footages is actual official trailers of the PC games which also was downloaded from the net. But I can give you the stuffs filetypes and hoping that may help. The downloaded footage which was downloaded by this ClipConverter, are MP4 files. The other stuff (which were official trailers) and most of them are also MP4 files, the others are QuickTime-film files. Many of these downloaded footages and trailers are also in HD quality, at least some of them I think.
The actual filetype ofthe footage I myself recorded with my camcorder are, well.... it says Videoclip in the file. Maybe it is AVI?
The project settings? You mean the settings you set at first when starting as a new project? The general settings are, in editingsettings it is AVCHD 270p square pixel. This is kinda hard for me to tell since everything is in swedish in my program. But these settings has worked perfectly before, same with all files, footages and videoclips I have been using, also all the soundfiles etc. Even the actual crashing project worked perfectly before it started crashing... So why does it so suddenly start crashing now?
The audio is a song I copied directly from its album and CD into the computer/PC and it seems to be in WMA format in filetype.
And lastly, no I haven't rendered the timeline of the project ever, not even on my other projects. What does the rendering do and is useful for? I have very little knowledge of it. Other, I keep the Timeline mode open all the time because I can edit my videos much better with it, but perhaps that editing method make little influence of the actual problem.
Other, yesterday when writing the post and topic, I forgot to mention that I restarded my computer right after I created a new project, that testing project. When finnished with the testing I restarted the computer. Since then I haven't touched the crashing project since now tonight, when checking its settings for this post. I am also right now trying to create and save the actual videofile of it, saving it on my computer. I'll soon see If it's successful without any crashing interruptions, plus that the video itself works and is smooth when I'll play it on Windows Media Player like all the rest of my other videos. I do this just in case I must create a new project to be able to continue with my musicvideo, as the first part of it I worked very hard on.
Other and again, I am still puzzled about why this is even happening, that this project which worked perfectly fine before, just suddenly starts triggering that "Serious Error" message and crashes. And in this program which worked so perfect before. Has this happened to anyone else before? Has anyone else experienced the same issue I have? Is this a knowledgable issue which has solutions and ways to fix it?... :/

Is there any open source, free, php software packages out there (or web products - a doc com tool) that allows a web designer freelancer (like me) who has their own business to take in client requests or new project request descriptions and requests from anyone and allow me to respond back with an answer, a timeline, status on the project etc etc. (besides just a standard contact us form - is there any project managment tool for web designers that works well for that?)

Adding a New Folder in Project Manager Crashes RH

For the past few days, I have been having problems creating
new folders in RH 7, Project Manager. Sometimes, it works just
fine, and I can add folders, drag topics into them, import into
them, create new topics, whatever.
But then sometimes, the project manager just goes to white
and flashes at me for a while, then RH crashes. The only things I
can see in the PM pane are the triangular colored icons that
overlay folders / topic icons when they include conditional build
tags. No topic names, no folder names, just a column of these
triangles.
When I come back into RH after the crash, most times there
are topics to reimport and / or relocate. I have rebuilt the cpd
file several times. Each time it seems to resolve the issue, but
eventually another crash comes along as I try to add a folder.
For the record, just updated to the new 7.02.001 a few
minutes ago, but RH just crashed again. 3GB RAM, more than 40GB
space available on hard drive. Nothing new on my PC that I can
think of.
Anyone else seeing this?

I'm just wondering if anyone has found a cause or solution of this issue?
I'm experiencing it too with one of my projects (currently, I'm on RH8.02.202 on Win7/64, but I've also experienced it in RH7 on WinXP/32, FWIW).
Some other details:
My project is on my C:\ drive.
The folder names are all comprised solely of alphanumerics and underscores.
I've deleted both the PSS and CPD files without any noticeable positive effect.
Since I've been on RH8, the project is set to rebuild the .cpd cache upon opening, but I've also tried deleting it (this might be redundant, but I figured the RH "rebuild" might be different from generating a brand new one).
After I force RH to close, the folder is there when I reopen the project, and the folder behaves normally.
The project resides in the standard "My RoboHelp Projects" folder.
The problem seems to be isolated to this project, which is my largest (~2065 topics in ~85 folders)
I'm at the point where I just automatically force RH to close after I create a folder rather than waiting to for the application to become "officially" non-responsive.
Are there any other files I might try deleting or examining? I've poked around in the .xpj, .fpj, and .hhp files, but I don't see anything odd. I compared my old .pss with the new one RH created, and they were identical.

Importing tlf project in flex builder

I can't find flex project for tlf in development folder. Could anybody guide me how to build tlf swc using flex/flash builder.

A Flash Builder project to build textLayout.swc is not currently available in Subversion... just an Ant script, which is the official way to build it. None of the projects in the 'development' folder are an officially supported part of the Flex SDK; for example, they don't appear in ZIP'd builds of the Flex SDK. We try to maintain them but sometimes they drift out of sync with the Ant scripts or have other issues.
If the community wants to contribute a project, I think we'd be willing to add it to the repository.
In the meantime, you'll have to set up your own project and populate it with the source code.
