ARD 3.6 update for Lion removes saved list.....

Has anyone noticed after the ARD 3.6 update all of my saved list of computers we support are gone. In All Computers the computers are listed just not in seperate list as before the update. Have not looked into this as to why. Could not find any post.

Updated 30 lab mac minis and admin mac air to ARD 3.6.  Screen share under interact menu does not work. All other interacts work fine.  When trying to use screen share, screens of mac minis goes black for 3 minutes.  ARD states failure on admin computer.   Also, saved computer lists are not working properly like other posts.
Tried to diasable remote management for mac mini and then enable with reboot.  No difference.

    Hi,
i'm a new member of this community. I've recently learn about flashback malware and other threats to Mac devices. I've installed the new Mac OS X update for Lion 10.7, and the flashback removal tool. What about the update for Flash Player? Should i install it? Otherwise, should i permanently remove this app?
    I realy need some advice.
    Thank's to all.

Be sure to install the latest version of Safari (version 5.1.7) which is available via Software Update (in the Apple menu) if you have not already installed it. This update will automatically disable older versions of Flash when new versions are available, and will instruct you on how to install the latest version on your system. This should help keep your system safe from any vulnerabilities in Flash.
Note that this is only useful if you use Safari, though other browsers have their own update mechanisms you should research and enable or configure to your liking.

  • New VisualHub updater for Lion seems to work great

I downloaded and ran the Visualhub updater for Lion, and converted a .mpg to flash, mpeg-2, h264, and wmv.
Unless I am missing something, we have been given quite a gift.

But iMovie 06 works fine in Lion.
Apple knows that millions of people are still using iMovie 06, (with iDVD11) so continued compatibility is logical.
Thanks for the report.  This is good news!

Should I update my Mac book for Itunes for the update for Lion if my Mac book is running on Leopard?

    I don't understand your question.
You can update itunes to the most recent available version for leopard without updating to Lion.

  • Why can't I boot after latest update for lion?

I installed the latest update for lion and now my computer won't boot. I got into disk utily it's saying I need to reinstall my os. Please help

    Reinstalling Lion Without the Installer
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alterhatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You can also re-download the Lion installer by opening the App Store application. Hold down the OPTION key and click on the Purchases icon in the toolbar. You should now see an active Install button to the right of your Lion purchase entry. There are situations in which this will not work. For example, if you are already booted into the Lion you originally purchased with your Apple ID or if an instance of the Lion installer is located anywhere on your computer.

  • Software updates for Lion

    Hi,
our office used to have a server and a bunch of clients running snow leopard. the server had the software update service turned on, and all the clients happily pulled the updates from it. recently I updated the clients to Lion, and they don't find any software updates anymore since the server does not download the updates for Lion.
Is there a way to make the server download both the updates for SL and for L without updating the server to L?
    Thanks!
    A.

    ok, it seems it's possible:

  • Bash update for Lion install correctly?

I can't tell if the Bash update for Lion installed correctly.  It shows up twice on my desktop and is under devices in finder. It went though all the questions, agreeing and where to install.  I have a Mac mini from early 2009. Running 10.7.5 version of Lion.

There should be an icon on the Desktop that looks like an external hard drive and is named "bash Update" or something like that. Drag it to the Trash. If you don't see it there, look in the sidebar of a Finder window under DEVICES and click the eject icon. Then look in the Downloads folder for a file with a similar name and drag it to the Trash.

  • Need v11.5 Xtras for e-mail, saving list variables

    Hi all,
I'm working on a new DVD project that needs to run on the latest Windows and Mac platforms, but am having trouble finding Xtras that have been updated for Director 11.5 and have been recompiled for Intel-based Macs.
Specifically, I am looking for Xtras with these features:
    1. Ability to send e-mails. DirectEMail appears to be the most-recommended, but the newest version I see is dated 2004. StarSoft has an Xtra that only lists Windows platforms as compatible. Is there anything good out there for Director 11.5 for both platforms?
    2. Ability to save/retrieve Lingo variables (specifically lists) to/from a disk file. I've looked at both PropSave (appears to be very outdated - 2002?) and vList (newest version is 11.5-compatible, but appears to be discontinued - no obvious way to order from their web site). Can anyone suggest anything?
    Many thanks in advance!

  • What is the right update for Lion OS X 10.7.5 ?Is it Lion OS X Mavericks or Lion OS X 10.8 and above?

I bought a Macbook Air 11" in 2011. It is currently running Lion OS X 10.7.5. What is the right update for this ?Is it Lion OS X Mavericks or Lion OS X 10.8 and above?

10.7.5 is the latest version of Lion. The next operating system that was released by Apple was 10.8.x Mountain Lion. Apple have, in the last two weeks, released a newer version of OS X - 10.9 Mavericks.
It is a completely new operating system, not an update to Lion.
Mavericks is available as a free upgrade (as opposed to update) via the Mac App Store in the Apple menu, but before upgrading (if you choose to) ensure that any applications you rely on are compatible with the latest OS. Also, for Mavericks to run well 4gb of RAM is recommended.

  • Cannot backup to external drive since installing updates for Lion.

Since installing updates to Lion os, my external 2TB western digital drive now cannot backup and disc utility cannot repair.
I apparently now need to reformat the external drive but first must back up the files on the external drive or they will be erased.
Does this now mean that I have to buy a second external drive and transfer all the files (one and a half TB's worth) on the existing external drive to the new external drive and then reformat the old drive and then transfer the files back onto the old drive?
Why do software updates for os cause problems with external backup drives?
I thought the whole point of updates was to keep the system running smoothly and not create havoc.

if you backup to the device it should not matter if the backup is erased as long as your main hd don't explode before you can back it up to the external hd once more after it have been formatted
if the hd is empty timemachine does a 100% full backup of everything on the hd to the ext hd

  • HT1338 Update for Lion denied; Upgrade for Mountain Lion blocked for iMac Intel

For several months I've been denied an update for OS X 10.7 and other software updates with a statement: "You no longer have permission". How would I lose permission? I haven't found any remedies yet. So I thought I would upgrade to Mountain Lion. I paid the $19.95 through the App store and find that the upgrade is blocked. Has anyone experienced this and found a solution?

Yup, I'm experiencing the exact same thing.
I (and many others) are experiencing the same or similar issues with the 10.8.3 update.
I've sent an response to Apple but have not yet received anything back (yet).

  • Software update for Lion recovery won't download

I just tried to download the software update containing lion recovery and it downloads most of the way and then stops: with a message that it cannot access something and to make sure I am connected to the internet.  I am connected to the internet, so I don't know what else to do.  I've tried three times and gotten the same response each time.
What do I need to do?

  • Buffalo's NAS firmware updated for Lion mac OS X 10.7

New firmware available for Buffalo's NAS to be Lion compatible
Time machine support to come (only thing still not working)
here is the link to choose your NAS, then download Mac Intel text and driver files for installation.
    Exemple : Concerning my
Buffalo Linkstation Duo 2To (France) model is "LS-WXL" it's here  :
    Text file to be read    / 3 Ko / July 25th, 2011
    Last Firmware (1.52) / 254,16 Mo / July 25th, 2011
    Don't forget to re-activate DHCAST128 before updating :
see my post in french here for a step by step tutorial (to re-activate DHCAST128 it's at the very end of post).

OK I found a free and easy solution.
Since a lot of people report they are able to access their NAS using apps other than the Finder itself, I decided to look for a free Lion-compatible File Manager to use instead of Finder.
I have found muCommander ( http://www.mucommander.com/ ) and indeed it works fine. All I did was click on the button highlighted bellow, go to "bonjour services" and select my NAS. It prompted me for my username and password and voilá, it works fine.
I keep Finder for everyday use and just load muCommander when I want to access the NAS. At least now I don't have to start my WinXP VM anymore just to access it.
    Hope it helps you.

  • Anybody knows when LaCie will update for Lion?

I can't enter my LaCie NetworkSpaceMAX - Lion don't support it...
Anybody knows when the update will come!

Maybe you find more info here: http://www.lacie.com/us/more/?id=10121
However, I'd rather have an option in OS X Lion to just use an older authenticatipon protocol for AFP (that's the reason it does not work with older devices) instead of updating all my devices.
Does anyone maybe has some console magic to enable legacy AFP support?
