ARD client for iPhone & iPad

is there a ARD client for these either of these two devices to connect to my iMac?

Not ARD, exactly, but there are several VNC clients you can connect to your iMac with. The RealVNC app handles connections to 10.7+ machines better than other VNC apps, in my experience.

  • DDNS Client for iPhone/iPad?

Is there a DDNS (Dynamic DNS) client for iPhone or iPad?

DynUp http://www.porcupyne.org/dynup.html used to be available in the app store (I have it installed on my non-jailbroken iPhone 4) but I can't see it in the UK store at present.  In case it returns, here are my thoughts on it...
    It's limited in that:
    * it doesn't continually monitor your IP and update DynDNS (though I wouldn't necessarily expect this)
    * it uses a standard web port to detect the current IP, so my ISP's transparent proxies get in the way when I'm using 3G.  I have to visit http://myglobalip.com:4280 (I saved a link to this page in Safari on my home screen) and then copy and paste the IP returned into the "custom" tab in DynUp - which then updates the DynDNS record correctly.
    * it only works with DynDNS and Widge.net (not a problem, as I use DynDNS)
Aside from that, I can only see apps in the Cydia store ... but I don't want to jailbreak my iDevices.
    Best wishes,
    Steve

  • Does the Wish List for iPhone/iPad/iPod show price drops?

Does the Wish List for iPhone/iPad/iPod show price drops? I assume it would show the new price in the Wish List but does it inform you if the price drops?

The apps which show on the file sharing section on your iPad when connected to your computer's iTunes, you have exactly the same apps installed on your iPhone - they are not separate iPad and iPhone apps that you have installed on your iPad/iPhone, and only the iPad version supports file sharing ?
For iBooks, that won't show, it doesn't support file sharing. You can add ibooks / epubs / PDFs to your computer's iTunes library (the iBooks app if you are using a Mac with OS X Mavericks on it) via File > Add To Library, and you sync them to a device via its Books tab :
If you want to copy them off the device to your computer's iTunes (to the iBooks app on Mavericks) then File > Devices > Transfer Purchases will copy them over (that will copy PDFs and epubs from the iBooks app on your device, not just ibooks).

Why don't .png files display in Safari for iPhone, iPad?

    James,
Thanks for your response.  The image was on a site I maintain.  I have already replaced the image with a jpg, which works fine.  I believe I can duplicate the problem, if you think it is worth it.  Gimme a few...
http://www.oaksbible.org/Contents/about2.html is the page with the png I restored to use.
http://www.oaksbible.org/Contents/about.html is the page with the replacement jpg
Just checked.  The png still does not display on iPhone(5) or iPad(3).  The image was also made by me in pixelmator and both (png and jpg) were exprted from pixelmator.
    thanks again,

  • Export for iPhone & iPad same time - Without resolution issues?

    Hello,
I have developed an app for the iPhone and it runs perfectly fine on the iOS for iPhone. I am trying to port it to the iPad so I have done the proper stage adjustments and have set export as "iPhone & iPad"
It opens up fine on my iPad, but the same app opens distorted on my iPhone (since the stage resolution isn't native, so it gets squished)
How can I make my app iPhone/iPad friendly all in one IPA?
    Thanks.

Use the same iphone version without any change on the stage and publish it for Iphone/Ipad with full screen parameter.

One of my favorite things about developing for iOS using Xcode is the Simulator. It runs any of the iOS devices simulated right on your Mac. If you don't have a hardware device to test your application on, the Xcode simulator will surely be your best friend.
So to answer your question less vaguely, yes. You can own the iPhone 5s and develop for the 6. There is no real release information of the iPhone 6 at the time anyways, so I would not let it play too large of a factor in your decision.

  • Looking for NNTP client for iPhone

looking for NNTP client for iPhone!!!
thanks and please help. when I use Windows Mobile I can use NNTP client.

    Hey all.
I'm actually the developer of that app--and as Irish John points out it was originally an app for the jailbroken devices.
However, I'm currently in the process of writing it for 2.*, and hope to have it out in the coming weeks. It will be free, or very close to it.
If you're interested in being informed of when this happens, feel free to star this issue: http://code.google.com/p/inewsgroup/issues/detail?id=56 .

  • Jabber for IPhone/IPad and Anyconnect VPN

I have just setup Jabber for iPhone and iPad in a CUCM 8.6/Presence 8.6 enviornment.  Works great when on my wireless network at work.
The problem I have is that it doesn't work with Anyconnect VPN.  Running 8.4 code and can access the CUPS website from the iPhone/iPad when on vpn.  It just will not connect the Jabber clients.  I have attached the logs for review.
There is only one difference in our wireless connectivity and VPN connectivity that I can think of at this point.  Could it be my DHCP configuration not offering option 150 for tftp on the VPN?  I am using a local pool on the ASA but it doesn't offer option 150 for tftp.

It's been a while so I don't recall exactly what I did.  That said: I want to say that I connected it via the wireless network to let it pull down it's configuration and after it pulled down the initial configuration I was good to go on VPN.

  • Secure exchange client for iPhone

    Hi All,
Our company is about to go from Lotus Notes to Exchange and I'm looking for a mail client for the iPhone/iPad that fulfills the following crieria:
    1) Needs to be able to be wiped remotely
    2) Read-Only access for attachments
    3) Receive emails via Push
We will use Touchdown (Nitrodesk) for Android devices, but noticed that it does not Push on iDevices.
Can anyone steer me in the right direction?
    Thanks for reading

The mail app should suffice, though I'm confused as to what you mean when you say "Read-Only access for attachments".  That's not a feature of Exchange, much less a client for Exchange...

  • Jabber for iPhone & iPad too long to connect to "Phone Services"

    Hello,
Has anybody ever experienced delay issues with Jabber for iPhone and/or iPad to connect to "Phone Services"?
In my case, the service does connect but it can take about 1 minute. Some times it can be faster but some others it can take a while to make the service available.
    Regards,

You've hit the nail on the head with your last sentence, though to me a month (and then another) to wait for a new line is nothing - I am on my fifth order with BT. They lost the first three, then tried charging me an arm and a leg in excess charges for the fourth. I am trying again, this time with a total package to see if they are a bit more useful when they actually know I'm not going to switch to another provider - fingers crossed.
If they do come back with massive excess charges again though this time I've done my homework. I now know the measurements between my property and the pole as well as the BT price list they use to calculate the charges. I've also worked out a cheaper route than the one they were suggesting - Ofcom say they should offer the cheapest route and the opportunity for the customer to do some of their own work but with me they didn't do either. They also didn't consider that we don't have reliable mobile signal here. They also didn't provide me with any details of how they'd come to that figure and just demanded it. I've had lots of advice from DEFRA, the Department for Business, Innopvation and Skills, Ofcom and ex-Openreach planners and should be able to get a line under the USO. I have a horrible feeling that I've done all this homework now though and they'll just come out and do it without demanding the excess, but if they do I am at least ready this time.

  • I have same Apple ID for iPhone iPad and my daughters iPod and iPad mini. Can I obtain another iCloud account for her without changing her Apple ID. She had a iCloud account on old iPod bit can't retrieve it.

Me and my daughter have same Apple ID for my iPhone iPad and her iPod and iPad mini. Is there any way to get an iCloud account for her devices without changing her Apple ID. She has an old iCloud account from older iPod but  can't activate it or remember her old iCloud account.
    Thanks

You have to use a different Apple ID to create a new iCloud account (each ID can only be used with a single account).  You don't have to use the ID for anything else though, she can continue to use her current ID for other services such as iTunes, iMessage, FaceTime, etc.
The only limitation is that each device can only create three iCloud accounts.

  • Hebrew ebooks (.epub) for iPhones, iPads and Android

    Hello,
I want to convert a book I wrote to .epub format in order to display it in iPhones, iPads and Android using reading apps.
I already tried converting the file using Scrivener (Which worked on iPhones but not on iPads and androids) and with Calibre which has a bug with Hebrew letters.
A friend told me InDesign might be a good choice so I wanted to ask you:
[1] Is it possible to convert to .epub and display Hebrew letters in RTL direction and right text-alignment?
[2] If so, Which of the two programs should I purchase (199$ / 299$)?
[3] Does the convertion process is simple enough?
[4] Is it possible to convert to .mobi as well?
    Thanks,
    Oren

There are some difficult issues in what you're trying to do. One is that in order to get RTL support with InDesign, you need to be using InDesign ME. See a recent thread where I suggested the poster contact the company that produces the ME version for Adobe:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4172125
Second, you'll need to make sure the Hebrew font is licensed for embedding, and you'll need to learn about creating EPUBs in InDesign. I'd suggest starting with eBooks by Liz Castro.
Here's a link to her website:

  • Does Flash for iPhone/iPad support http (JSON) and .pdf loading?

    Hi everyone -
I'll get to the point. I am aware that the iPhone/iPad dev kit for Flash has some performance issues, but I believe I am creating something REALLY simple that does not require complex animations (just menus and tweens). So my question(s) is this:
-I need clarification on what network protocols I can use to send and receive data from my app. Can I send / receive JSON data? I know stuff like RTMP is not likely supported (I read it peripherally somewhere) but I want to make sure I can send content like JSON or XML.
-Is it possible to launch a .pdf document from a flash mobile app (well, iPhone or iPad in this case) so that it stays within the application? I don't want it to display in a web browser within the device via some link. I read here
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/as3/iphone/WS789ea67d3e73a8b24b55b57a124b32b5b57-7fff.html
a reference to PDF support via HTMLLoader.pdfCapability as a check, but doesn't specify which devices (all devices? some? none)
Any help on this would be appreciated. It's painful to write in objective c (at least to me )
    thanks
    Edward

SVG charts from pre-4.0 versions of APEX work fine on iPhone/iPad.
This feature was deprecated in APEX 4.0 without any obvious pre-announcement, a decision that, with an apparently permanently Flash-less iOS and indications that Microsoft intend to add native SVG support to IE, may have been somewhat premature?
Ideally APEX would allow for transparent delivery of either Flash or SVG charts (based on an application preference), and the use of the standard graceful degradation feature of OBJECT elements to allow fail-over from the preferred format to the other where browser support is absent.

  • Transcode/Encode for iPhone & iPad

A customer that has been anti-Apple from the beginning of time has now decided they want all their visual material available to iPhones & iPads. We have a library of several hundred Flash (.flv) videos deployed on a Flash Media Server that I must now transcode for iPad&Phone. Can anyone point me to a "best practices" paper for the encoding specs and a deployment strategy?

Compressor has iPhone/iPad settings you can use.  But if you need something more specific, I found this iPad 2 spec page  http://support.apple.com/kb/SP622  which says,
"Video formats supported: H.264 video up to 720p, 30 frames per second, Main Profile level 3.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format"
