ARD not able to control Leopard Server

I'm trying to configure a new Xserve and I'm having issues with ARD (installed on my 24" iMac) taking control of the server.
ARD works on other servers (although they are running 10.4.10 and 10.4.11), so I don't think it's the administration on the iMac that could be the issue. I'm able to do everything else (copy files, pull reports, make client changes, send messages) remotely but I cannot get to take control or observe the screen on the Xserve. The main admin window shows the current status, current application and all that correctly for the server.
I've checked the ports, but if I can do all the I've mentioned above, I don't think it can be a port issue.
The error message I'm getting is "Connection failed because Remote Login is not enabled on "+server name+". I do have Remote Login checked in the Sharing properties, and I can either have Remote Management or Screen Sharing enabled, but not both.
Help, please?

Since all the other functions of ARD work, then all the necessary services should be working. The only other thing I can think of, and I'm not certain this applies to Server as well as the workstation version of Leopard, is to make sure that Screen Sharing isn't turned on in the Sharing system preferences. But I don't think you can turn that on when Remote Management is on, so that's probably not the issue.
Beyond that, the only suggestion I would have would be to remove the ARD client using the instructions here and reinstall, then remove the system from the ARD computer list and re-add and see if that all fixes the problem.
Good luck.

  • Ios7 no call decline option when its locked battert drains fast music is not able to controlled through headset unless the music app is open  please fix these bugs

Ios7 no call decline option when its locked battert drains fast music is not able to controlled through headset unless the music app is open  please fix these bugs

if they are unable to update all languages in a normal time gap (it is now 6 months ago they released firmware 4.22 for the first product code (actually mine and maybe a few others)), they should not offer those many versions. the huge bug with out of memory in nokia navigator with firmware 3.58 is not fixed yet for those people. really absolutely not acceptable.
besides that, currently my phone is in a nokia service center, microphone doesnt work anymore (the one who i call just hears a very loud noise). my brother got the same phone, his one is in nokia service center since 2 weeks now, because it doesnt charge anymore as there seems to be a connection broken inside the phone).
well that will be fun if the phone returns (approximately 4 weeks), as I guess the phones will have new IMEIs as they will send 2 new phones and not fix the problem (would cost them more). but as i got a western europe with nordics-map licence locked to the imei, the next problem will be there after I get a nokia 6110navi with another IMEI back. i get really upset with this really slow support.

    Hi,
Check the below link. Hope it helps

  • Not able to add essbase server

    Hi all,
Our security is with shared services when iam connecting with my user and my system password its connecting but iam not able to add essbase server its throwing error login fail
but with admin password every thing is fine
i refreshed users in EAS but iam not able to add essbase server
    any help would be appriciated
    Thanks

the user you were using to login to admin server might not be having access to the essbase server.
so make sure you were using the right user to connect to essbase server who is having access to essbase server.
like if you are using 'admin' user, check in shared services for the provision of admin user.
Check if he is having server access to that particular essbase server
or you can check by logging in with the same user through maxl.
in maxl, use the following login command and see if you were able to login or not.
    login <username> <password> on <essbase server name>;

  • Not able to add essbase server ( part of Planning installation)

    Hi experts,
We have installed and configured the Essbase. We have started the services.
We are not able to add essbase server to EAS console. It is showing network error ..
When we see essbase log, we got the following error.
"Essbase global application does not exist at Shared Services"
If anyone faced this kind of an issue, please let me know what could be the reason.
    Thanks,
    Ganesh.

Have you registered Essbase with shared services yet? Try re-registering essbase.

  • Jdeveloper is not able to find SOA server

I am trying to deploy Hello world BPEL project from Jdeveloper 11.1.1.6.0 to standalone Weblogic server 10.3.6. Jdeveloper is able to list servers running (admin server and managed soa-server). However it is not able to find SOA server. I have verified that soa-infra is up and running.

    <namingService name="Cos" host="mohammedsabry" port="14021"/>
    </discoveryService>
where "mohammedsabry" is the compourer name
and when i try the command

Could it be that you are missing the SSH certificate on the computer where you're experience the problem?
From what I understand, you need to copy the valid certificate from our server to the other computer. Perhaps the following example will be useful:
    http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/content/submitted/ssh_setting.jsp
    http://www.lifelinux.com/setting-up-an-ssh-certificate/

  • Not able to assign process server to file events.

    Hi,
our requirement is we want a file event to be raised when ever a file is uploaded in BW.
when we tried to configured a file event we are not able to assign a process server. when we click on process server our bw process server is not popped up.
i am not clear what setting needs to be maintained in dataroot directory.
    Process Server>>Parametes>>Data root directory
    or
do we need to set up any platform agent on BW System
    please advise.

    Hi Anthon ,
1)Do we require seperate license for Platform agents and once after downloading  the platform agent can we install from CPS side  by submitting job definition or this is a BASIS job to install the platform agent on the system where we want the files to be detected.
2)is there any setting needs to be done on CPS side after we intall Platform Agents in the bw system.
    Regards
    Rajesh Dhaval
