ARD3.1 and frequent VNC crashes and garbage screen on login.

Hey everyone,
I know this questions have been up before but has anyone found a solution to those problems.
I am using Xserve G5 with 10.4.8 OS X Server and ARD 3.1
On certain servers my VNC deamon crashes frequently everytime I remote into it.
Subsequently if I authenticate on the remote server to login I get a garbage screen and have to log out again and repeat the step before it works.
Any ideas?

I have exact the same problem with garbage screen on my new XServer and ARD 3.1.
Is there any fix from Apple?

    Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
    Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
    Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
    The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
    Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

    Hi mterry1723, one solution that might be worth trying is this:
    - Close iTunes, if it's open
    - Open Safari and got to 'Preferences'
    - Select 'Security' on the top
    - Untick all the security options in the menu
    - Click the 'Show Cookies' button and look for all the 'apple' entries in the left-hand column.
    - Highlight them (select them collectively) and press 'Remove'
    - Now open iTunes and buy the song as usual.
    - You may be asked to do the same security process as before, so do as asked.
    - Hopefully, the security check will now have accepted your answers and start downloading the song as normal.
    Remember to re-tick all the required security options you had just un-ticked in Safari preferences. You don't need to bother about opening the cookies again.
    I hope this has worked for you and my profoundest apologies if it has not. Worth a go, though!

    It sounds like the app on your iPad is quitting unexpectedly.  I recommend following the steps in the article below for an issue like this (you can skip the step to download another app from the App Store since it is not related to this issue):

    hi i had the same problem today when i updated my itunes to latest version. however, i have just found my songs in the 'itunes media' folder. this was accessed through 'my music'  then keep clicking through until you find itunes media and all my library songs were in there and i then just added these files to my library and all were restored however, i have lost all my playlists but at least my 700 songs are back. very dissapointed with apple that they have let this happen with their latest update, the previous version was miles better than this one . hope you find them. stevo

  • Chromium random and frequent freezes/crashes with KDE

    Hello folks,
    as sated on the topic I keep on getting random and frequent crashes with either Chromium and Chrome with KDE 4.13.3.
    The freeze/crash doesn't happen when doing a specific task and can occur at anytime.
    The way it happens is that Chromium freeze up and than if I minimize the window and maximize it again the Chromium window just disappears and at that point all I can do is killing it manually.
    The wiki suggests that libcanberra-pulse is the reason that cause those freezes and should be removed, however after a quick look up into the system it doesn't seem that I have it installed.

    I will reply to myself.. I am not sure anymore that this is an issue that has to do specifically with KDE, since according to this guy it might be something related with libglx.
    A quick look at my Xorg.0.log tells me that glx is loaded correctly.

    I am going to shoot a noob question here, is this a generic open source driver or do I need a specific one for my graphic card? I do have a intel i915.
    Also what's the package that handles libglx*? I'd try removing it and install it again. I mean until yesterday I had Chrome and Chromium perfectly working on Arch and the same kernel, than I had to replace the ssd with a bigger one and I decided to start from scratch with just what I needed, and here you have it both Chrome and Chromium miss behaving ..

  • I have upgraded from firefox 4 to firefox 5 and now it crashes and will not open at all just produces an error box to submit the fault. I have submitted and now cannot use firefox at all cannot open it cannot use it cannot do anything with it.

    I wish I could go back to version 4.

    I have this problem with Firefox 5.0 too. You are forced to reboot when access to 5.0 is denied. I had so many problems with 4.0 as well. I am so tired of the crashes and seeing that popup window to send your comments, it is ridiculous. I also find in 5.0 that mouse controls are fruitless and sometimes take over. The pages will jump forward or back, the pull down menus do not function, clicking boxes in online email don't work and pages will zoom in or out by themselves. I have three computers with different operating systems that this happens with. All these updates by programmers are crap. I thought I set firefox to not update automatically, since updates seem to be worse than the previous version, but it happens anyway. I will surf for an older version or switch to something else. Too bad because after 10+ years, they are losing my loyalty.

    If possible uninstall your current Firefox version to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
    *Do NOT remove "personal data" when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords including data in profiles created by other Firefox versions.
    Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

    i tried updating my wifes phone on saturday morning.  my wireless modem kept crashing and it restored her phone and it is blank.  i cannot get it to upload anything so the phone is useless.   can someone help

    No one on this user to user forum is going to log into your computer to help you. Why would you want a stranger in your stuff anyway?
    My suggestion is to take the phone to the nearest Apple Store and let them restore the phone for you. Then get your Internet problems sorted before trying to update any other iOS devices.

    Hi thanks for your advice, but i tried the reboot as you suggested and this does not work and the iPad now seems completely unresponsive. DesLite having a full charge I can not get any sign of life from the iPad.

  • Netflix and Silverlight, constant crashing and buffering.

    Alright, I'm at my wits end and I have no idea what to do anymore. I've spoken to Microsoft and Netflix numerous times and neither seem to know anything at all about my problem. I'm hoping someone has an idea.
    Every time I try to watch something on Netflix, it crashes. Usually when streaming, your video streams ahead of the part you are watching in order to prevent any rebuffering. Well, Netflix will load up to a few minutes and no further. Once I watch up to
    that point, it tries to rebuffer but gets stuck at 0%. No error message ever pops up. It just stays at 0% and will stay there for hours. This happens on my Sony Blu-ray player and also on my laptop. It acts as if my internet has stopped working and it cannot
    rebuffer or reload the video, even when my internet connection is perfectly fine. It doesn't matter what internet browser I use, as it does the same thing on all of them. The quick fix to this is if I just refresh the page...the video will start to play where
    it crashed just fine. But this only works for another couple of minutes before it crashes again. It's becoming pointless to even attempt to watch anything, as I have to get up and refresh it every two minutes.
    I'm certain this is an issue with Silverlight crashing, because the tech support on Netflix told me that my streaming data reported a Silverlight error. Not only that, but I can stream just fine on other sites, such as HULU.
    I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Silverlight multiple times, and have deleted the Appdata folder each time. If anyone has any idea on what keeps causing my Silverlight to crash while watching Netflix, any input is appreciated.
    I have Windows 7 64-bit and my Silverlight is up to date. All of my web browsers are also up to date.

    Does no one have an answer for this?  I too, have the exact same problem.  
    Netflix loads a couple minutes ahead of the streaming then stops when it reaches that point.  I get the 0% and nothing else.  The only remedy is deleting Silverlight from Internet Plug-Ins and downloading another Silverlight.  This will work
    for at least 1 movie or episode, but the next streaming will get the 0%.  I'm on a 2010 iMac and have tried Netflix on Safari and Firefox.  My internet is wired directly to the Mac and my speed is low at around 1.5 MB.  I can also manually lower
    the buffer rate (Ctrl+Option+Shift+S) but that doesn't affect anything.  If no one has a solution for this, I will have to cancel the Instant portion of my Netflix :(

  • I recently rented some movies, mostly downloaded, started watching, and then itunes crashed, and both the rentals are gone!

    so i rented two movies, one was 90% done, i sttarted watching and itunes crashed 30 minutes in, i opend back up and that rental was gone, i went back to watch another one, got 30 minues in, and then that one crashed, and same scenario! Please help me get hem back!

  • Accidentally changed cache location and the app crashes and never opens

    I recently changed the cache location to an external usb and whenever I try to open the app t crashes and gives me an error pop up. I cant change the cache location back to default since I can never open the app, feels like a catch22 situation. A simple reinstallation didn't seem to work. Any suggestions?

    Hello: Wait you changed the cache location folder for the spotify desktop spotify app, or changed the location for a system wide cache location? If you did a system wide cache move your probable going to run into all kinds of isssues. Would not it be a smart idea to plug in the USB device that was used in the change of cache location, and then try to launch spotify and see if it loads correct and finds the hacked moved new cache location? What about trying to retrace your steps in how you changed the default cache location, and just reverse the process to move the cache location back to it's default location, using the terminal system folder linking process, and then try to see if spotify will launch properly? I mean your on a Mac is your HD that small? I thought that was one of Apples selling points, larger memory run abilities, and larger HD space for their systems? Does not Mac have something called Time Machine, have your tried that route to fix the lost Cache location folder?
