Wrong app. If you want to layout pages, buy Apple's Pages. Will totally support what you want to do.

  • Insert Adobe Reader document into a Word document.

How do I insert an Adobe Reader document in to a Microsoft Word document?  I have the Windows 7 operating system.

You can insert it as an object, via Insert - Object. You can't insert its contents into the Word file directly, unless you copy them and then paste them in your document or convert the PDF to a Word file (not possible with just the free Reader).

Hi allan,I have dowloaded Adobe reader. Is it the same as Adobe acrobat?
Also I don t know how to start editing my pdf document once I have downloaded the program.
No. Adobe Reader is the free product that does exactly that reads PDF files. Adobe Acrobat on the other hand is a product which does everything Reader does plus it can create, edit and merge PDF files. The downside to Acrobat is that it cost.
With the Adobe Reader that you downloaded you can't edit a PDF document only read it.

  • Adobe Reader document was enabled for editing but now won't let me edit

I'm hoping someone can help me solve this issue. I have Adobe Reader 9.1 and have been editing a PDF that was enabled for commenting and
text edits by another party. However, when I went to open the PDF tonight, I got a message telling me "The document enabled extended features in Adobe Reader. The document has been changed since it was created and use of extended features is no longer available" and I can no longer use sticky note and text editing tools. Does anyone know how to fix this?
    Many, many thanks!

Perform the following, stopping with the first one which works:
    1. Open the Mac App Store's Purchases tab. If you're prompted to accept it and the other iLife/iWork applications into your Apple ID, do so.
    2. Move them out of the Applications folder(they may need to be put into the Trash temporarily), and then see if you can download them for free from their individual product pages. If you're asked to buy them, see #3.
    3. Click here, contact Apple, and wait for a response.
    4. Buy them.

  • Adobe Reader document security properties miss-match

    Hi,
I've created a document with document assembly allowed and form filling diss-allowed. Infact it's security bitmap mask is:
    011011011100 or -2340
So you can clearly see that:
bit 9 is off, signifying form filling is NOT allowed
bit 11 is on, signifying document assembly IS allowed
Problem is I'm seeing this in adobe reader:
    So my questions:
Why is there an inconsistency between the two dialogs?
Why in the first dialog is form filling allowed?
    Thanks in advanced!
    Andy.

If you are using your own software, I would think that your question is not directly related with Adobe and/or Reader.
I have to disagree, perhaps you didn't see my first post with my two specific questions?
Why is there an inconsistency between the two dialogs [in adobe reader]?
Why in the first dialog [in adobe reader] is form filling allowed?
So to re-iterate. I've created a PDF with a bitmask (which you can see in my first post) which, to the best of my understanding and interpretation of the PDF spec is correct and valid for a PDF that should diss-allow form filling. This part should really not be in question, unless of course I've interperated the PDF spec wrong and the bitmask is wrong. Either way, the bitmask shows that form filling is not enabled. In adobe reader, the first security details screen says that form filling is enabled. My question is simple, why? Also, why is it inconsistent between the two properties forms?
Anyone have any knowledge about these two security dialogs in adobe reader?
    I hope this helps!
    Thanks a lot!
    Andy.

  • Adobe Reader problem [edited by host]

All of a sudden when adobe reader is utilized the logo comes up and below is 4 lines of asian writing and everything stops. I have uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times to no a vale, any ideas?

Most likely you are trying to view an online PDF on Mac OS, and you are getting the following message in Japanese (I don't know it is in Japanese, but I know it has happened to others before):
Before viewing PDF documents in this browser you must launch Adobe Reader and accept the End User License Agreement then quit and relaunch the browser.
Do this, and the message will go away.

  • Problem printing Adobe Reader documents (PDF). Text files and MS-WORD print fine. Help?

I cannot get my ePrint to work with Adobe Acrobat (ReaderX) and pdf files.  I get a "Failed to send" message.  I have NO problems printing text or MS-WORD files so I know my Internet, printer, and local intranet are working.  Help?

When you say the bottom right of you screen, are you talking about your computer screen?  If you are then, you are not using ePrint, which is fine.  You may just be having some wireless network issues.  Try this.  When it asks for the DNS information on step six, enter Google's public DNS (Preferred = 8.8.8.8 | Alt = 8.8.4.4).  If that does not help, let me know  and I will see what I can do.
By the way, if you are emailing the documents to your printer, which is ePrint, you are right about the file size limit, however, the limit is 5 MB.  Most likely you are not Creating PDF or Docx documents that are anywhere near that size, so that should not be the issue if you are using ePrint.  If you are using ePrint, try turning the router and printer off.  Turn the router on and let it become stable.  Turn the printer back on.  Turn off and on any other devices that are connected to your wireless network as well, so they can re-establish network connection.  Now retry the ePrint job.  If that does not work, let me know.

  • How do you keyboard scroll an Adobe Reader document the same way as a web page?

When I use the up and down arrows using a browser it simply scroll the page as a whole, not line for line. I can not seem to figure out how to do the same with Adobe Reader. I often have 2 column documents (similar to newspaper width) and find it frustrating scrolling as the cursor jumps around. It's not a smooth transition at all. I am often frustrated with this. How can I fix it? I searched and google and did not find anything. Automatic scroll is the closest I can get it to work. Seems like such a simple task is made complicated.

Windows 7. Document being opened directly with Adobe Reader X 10.1.8.24.
Like I said in the original post I'm using the arrow keys. The page up keys are for scrolling entire pages. I want to smooth scroll as you can with browsers. Can't seem to figure it out. The page keys are choppy and it's easy to loose your place this way. Using the arrow keys only scrows a cursor on the last page the cursor was on. If I skip from page 1 to 10 for example, and my cursor is still sitting on page 1, if I hit the arrow key, it brings me back to page 1.  I experience this on ALL systems using Adobe Reader.

  • All my desktop icons are Adobe Reader icons, can't access related files

I was trying to open a file this morning, and when a pop-menu asked what application I wanted to choose (from a list) to open it, I clicked on Adobe Reader - just as a guess.   After that,  just about all my desktop icons are Adobe icons, and when I click on them, the pop up menus says I can't access the file.   These icons also show up on my menu of all my MS Office programs like Outlook, Word, Excel,  etc.
Tech support at Adobe recommended I use System Restore, but it also is now an Adobe icon, so I can't open it.    If anyone can help reverse this, I'd greatly appreciate it.
    Thanks,
    David

    Hi,
This also happened to me this morning. Now all my icons are PDF symbols and Reader opens when I try to open any other program. I uninstalled Reader it and it fixed itself but when I reinstalled the program the same issue occurred.
I wanted to make PDF reader the default application when openning PDF's vs. Distiller, tinkered and broke my computer.
Any clues on how to bring everything back to normaL?

  • Create a PDF. with Illustrator that Adobe Reader Can Edit

How do I export a file to .PDF with a single line of text that can be edited with Adobe Reader. I'm Creating a sign template and the their is a spot for the price that needs to be changed every week with Adobe Reader. Is this possible

As Larry said, a simple form field would work. Just be aware, that there is no way to control the formatting inside the field. They really only can type in their price and have to live with any discrepancies compared to the rest of the text.

  • ADOBE Reader, Digital Editions, and nook

Hi, I do not know if I even am at the right place or not, so if not, then I apologize. Maybe you could direct me to the right place? I just purchased an ebook that will open on my computer with adobe reader but not digital editions. I want to transfer to my nook but have not been able to  figure out how. Can this be transferred to digital editions so that i can transfer? Or am I just dealing with a format that is not compatible  with nook at all?
Thank you for any help at all.

You may want to visit the support page for the Nook:

  • Tab Thru Adobe Reader Documents

Is there any way to set up the adobe reader so I can tab thru my documents instead of a new window opening up every time I open a new document?
Now I  have a dozen or more windows open at one time and it is taking up my task bar not to mention it is hard finding my way thru all these documents.
    Thank you for your help!

I don't think the preference option is there in windows reader. It is there only in Linux. I don't know why this is not implemented in windows.
Because of this, practically I'm seeing only these solutions
Install Foxit PDF Reader(Also we can create bookmarks in the document while viewing with this) or
Install Google chrome and make it as the default pdf viewer. Then it will open the documents in tabs. Use chrome for this purpose only and use some other browser for Internet. I feel this is better because Chrome will re-open the last opened files and adobe will remember the last view of each file if enabled in preference.

    niyas
