Dear Apple. I have just installed Windows 7 64-bit full version Home Premium using Bootcamp and cannot get access to the internet. I installed on a Macbook Air Mid 2012 with Mountain Lion. Are there some drivers that are missing from the Windows 7 bootcamp install download from Apple

It is a Total Misconception that the Support files are installed when you are installing Windows, even if the USB drive that holds them is inserted in the system when doing the Windows install.
You must always Run the Setup.exe files from the support files or run the drivers individually once Windows has finished installing and booted to the desktop.
Also you really need to run the Boot Camp Control Panel Applet and check for updates as not all the newest drivers for full function of all the hardware is included with the original support download. That download is basically a generic version to get the system working and without doing the updates not everything will work properly.

  • Why is my macbook air not compatible with mountain lion?

When i want to buy montain lion in the app store i get the message that my machine (Macbook air) is not compatible. Why is that and can i do something to solve that problem?

Because your model is old and does not support the 64-bit EFI ROM requirement to install Mountain Lion. If you meet the 2 GB RAM requirements you could install Lion:

  • Do Macbook air (2013) come with mountain lion?

Sorry for asking this question, but I am really confused.
On apple site it shows that Mountain lion is pre installed.
    I bought Macbook Air 13" 2013 model.
I was surfing Apple App Store and it shows that Mountain Lion is available for download for Rs 1100.
I am confused that if I already have Mountain Lion then why is App Store showing me option to download it. (I checked OS version : 10.8.4)
Do I need to download it? I alrady have all the features Mountain Lion is supposed to have but why is it showing in App Store?

    KartikSharma1607 wrote:
Do I need to download it?
No, not if it is already installed. OS X 10.8.4 is the latest version.
It will appear in the App Store if you purchased it in the past - to install on another Mac, for example.
If you should ever need to reinstall OS X "Mountain Lion" on your MacBook Air, it can be downloaded and installed again, as often as you may require, without having to pay for it again.

  • What Superdrive (external USB) is compatable with Mountain Lion 10.8.3?

What Superdrive (external USB) is compatable with Mountain Lion 10.8.3?
My New install of 10.8.3, will now.... not reconize anything I put in my drive... it spits it back out!
Superdrive does NOT reconize any activity.
It will show my information on/of my drive...but, that is about it...
Is there a patch/fix for this issue with 10.8.3?
If not...why is Apple (seemingly) ignoring this issue? There are so many with the same complaint.
They want $19 to answer this question...why? I just bought the upgrade to 10.8.3 a couple of days ago.
Anyone have any suggestion, beside switching BACK to Microsoft...?

Sorry about the serial number...wasn't thinking.  Mentally noted.
I would think it to not be too much, to ask for it to be able to read/write to the listed capablities list with the product (superdrive). The different media type...
I insert blank -R DVD, -R CD, ...anything I put in,it spits it out.  NOTE:  The ONLY thing I've been able to get it to read, is some old CD's that I had some mp3 files on...it would read that OK... but if I try a DVD read or write and write a CD...NOTHING!
This worked fine before upgrading to 10.8.3   was at 10.7.5....

  • Macbook pro 15in 2011 with mountain lion installed- dropped wifi

I am having a fit with my macbook pro - dropped wifi after sleep-  I did all the things suggested in another apple forum- my airport extreme is current with updates- renewed dhcp etc etc NOW  to be accurate my 2010 mac mini has no issue whatsoever--  this is driving me crazy-  I would have thought Apple would have fixed this by now -with the update 2 or 3 days ago but ha ha it did not-- but I can assure you that it is not a hardware issue as much as a mountain lion/ apple software issue- I have to restart my computer all the time to remain connected- can someone tell someone at apple about this- I sure am seeing a TON of people with the same problem- it is not allowing me to run smoothly-- as I had zero issues before the perfect install of mountian lion --from lion-- which my macbook came with-- I am also running Kaspersky for Mac and it is the 2013 version and today I had to restart change its proxy settings to get it to update and it was fine last week.
I am wondering if this has anything to do with the apps having to come thru the app store because a  time and moon phase widget I got when running lion from the app store is just blank now. Safari loses the ability to connect and I have to restart then all is well for an undetermined amount of time or an awake from sleep mode and its thank you apple turning my laptop into a  **** on earth- I thought I should put this out there for Apple to see.

For anybody whomay stumble across this post- it is an addendum to the originalpost
Just to be sure  it is an APPLE SOFTWARE ISSUE - ProbablySafari---I used my mac mini ( with mountain lion ) and-- it too drops wifi-- and the end  result is
SAFARI CANNOT CONNECT TO SERVER lol
the app store hangs and hangs and hangs
as it does my macbook pro -- they  BOTH have to be restarted-- then it is okay for a little while
THIS IS SO ANNOYING  ha ha-- in this instance caps does mean I am yelling lol

Will CS3 or CS4 run on a Macbook with Mountain Lion?

    Hi there
You shouldn't have any problems using CS3 or CS4 on Mountain Lion, according to this Adobe blog: http://blogs.adobe.com/photoshopdotcom/2012/08/osx-10-8-mountain-lion-released.html

  • CS 5 compatibility with Mountain Lion OS

I'm thinking about installing Mountain Lion OS -10.8- and I would like to know if the CS5 -Photoshop, After effects, Premiere, Media Encoder, etc- is compatible with it or not. If it is not, what's the solution? Installing any complement to CS5? CS6?
    Thank you.
        Javier Lopez

Yes, we can confirm that Audition CS6 is compliant with Mountain Lion (Mac OS 10.8) and their are currently no known issues between the product and the new OS.
While Audition CS5.5 is not the latest version of Audition, I can also confirm that it appears to work just fine as well.
With the minimal backend architectural changes made to the new Mac OS (between Lion and Mountain Lion), we see no reason for users to be concerned.
    I hope that helps.
    Thanks,

  • How do I transfer my Quicken 2004 data from old MacBook to new Imac with Mountain Lion

I want to transfer my Quicken 2004 (upgraded to 2006) data from MacBook running OSX 10.5.8 to new Imac running Mountain Lion with Quicken 2007 Lion.  How do I do this?  I thought from what I've read on line that all I needed to do was upgrade the quicken to 2006 and then the data would be readable by Quicken 2007 Lion.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

OK: This information is VERY helpful!  Note my comments below:

Here is what I'm doing step by step:
Open Quicken 2006 (it did automatically convert the Quicken 2004 data) -- GOOD!
    Do not do these steps
    I went to File> Export> All
Named the file "Copy of Quicken Data.qif" and saved it to the desktop of my MacBook.
At this point if I send the file as is it would not open on the other end saying that Power PC apps are not supported.
I discovered that if I  go to File> Get Info in the Finder window before I send it and change the setting "Open with" from "Preview" to "Quicken 2006", that the file would be recognized by the new computer.
Compress the converted Quicken 2006 data file by Control-Clicking on the converted Quicken 2006 data file and it should save with a .zip extension.
Send the automatically converted and compressed Quicken 2006 data file with the zip extension I send it to myself via email as an attachment, I save the attachment to the desktop of the Imac.  Uncompress it by double-clicking it.
    I open Quicken 2007 Lion
Go to File>Open File... Import>From QIF
Select the converted and uncompressed Quicken 2006 data file attachment that you saved to the desktop of the iMac and then uncompressed. "Copy of Quicken Data.qif"
It begins to download, then I get a warning
"Quicken is unable to import "Copy of Quicken Data.qif" becasue the transaction displayed below is too large...  it goes on to say that there is possibly too much text in the split line detail etc.
It should open in Quicken 2007 for Lion/Mt. Lion
Thanks for your time, any insights would be much appreciated.

  • Why won't my macbook air boot up after mountain lion update?

I updated to mountain lion yesterday.  computer acted funny at the end of the night, so i shut the lid.  today, i opened the lid and it didn't turn right on.  so i powered up.  got about halfway into booting, and shut off.  now it won't start up at all.  any help would be awesome!  1,000 karma points to anyone who know what to do, since it won't boot up at all anymore.

it seems to be a power/battery issue.  unplugged, it won't boot up at all.  plugged in, it boots.  as soon as i unplug, macbook air turns off.  hope this helps you problem solving gurus out there.

  • No audio coming out of MacBook Pro Early 2011 with Mountain Lion

I just updated my Early 2011 MacBook Pro to Mountain Lion and I am having no problems except for the fact that I have no audio coming out of my computer.. when I turn it up it says that it's all the way up but theres a circle with a line through it like it's muted or something like that. When I click the mute button on my keyboard the line goes through the little speaker picture like it usually does and the cicle with the line is still there but then when I unmute it and turn it up it's still all the way up with the circle and line. Any ideas?
    Here's a screenshot of it:

Same issue with the same model.  I restarted and the problem went away.  Hopefully it will stay away.

  • HT204291 I can connect to the apple TV but I am not getting display only sound with my IMAC mid 2011 and MAC Air 2012 both with Mountain Lion OS

I just upgraded to Mountain Lion after purchasing Apple TV yesterday from Best Buy.
I have signed in on the same wi-fi network (comcast 30mbps)
I was able to see photos from my wifes Iphone but not my IMac or Mac Air
Both computers connect but I am only getting audio.
I updated software on Apple TV
I shut everything down and reset my router. My Mac Air 13" 2012 was able to see the desk top but not anything that I was doing and then it disconnected.
I also tested the internet speed on the Apple TV but it just told me it was finished. (no results)

WEP as a security measure is laughable nowadays. Even a kindergarten kid with a netbook can crack the password in a few minutes. Try using WPA2 if available on the device. And the Macs will be quite happy connecting with that protocol.
