Are blocked texts still "billed" by the carrier?

My mother does not a texting plan because she never texts and only receives texts from spammers. While I know that the blocked texts from spammers will not appear on her iPhone, will they be counted by the carrier (in this case AT&T) as an incoming text message, even if it is not technically delivered?   Obviously it will save her the headache of receiving unwanted texts, but will she still be billed for them?

She can forward them to AT&T directly at short code 772-6.  She will then get an automated reply asking her to reply with the senders "sent from" address (these texts with AT&T are all free as well).  If they respond that they cannot identify the sender (happens often with short codes), she can call customer care at the number in the text and ask them to block that short code for her account.
Since she is paying per text, I think that reporting throught the automated SPAM report system will also automatically credit her account for the billed spam messages, but you might want to call AT&T and confirm that actually happens.

    Try rebooting your iPad and see if they reappear.
    Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
    If they still do not show up, make sure hat you don't have content restrictions set that could prevent certain apps from showing up on your iPad. Settings>General>RestrictionsAllowed Content.
    if you still don't see them, connect your iPad to iTunes on your computer and you should see them in the iPad mini screens on the right side of iTunes after the iPad has been selected under "devices" and when you are in the apps pane of iTunes.

    If those people are not using an Apple device with iMessage account, then you cannot use iMessage to send to them.  On an iPad, that means you will have to use one of the 3rd party apps to send text messages to them (examples are textme or textplus).

  • What ports are blocked with Homefusion

    I am trying to figure out what ports are blocked on the homefusion service.

    There is no official list of blocked ports for HomeFusion or any of the other VZW products.  All products are treated the same way.  The NAT firewall on VZWs new LTE network is responsible for blocking internet communication as well as hiding public IP Addresses. No manual configuration of the devices themselves will allow you to work around the issue.  In truth it would be easier to create a list of the allowed ports but we don't have one of those either. 
    A rule of thumb is that you should assume any custom or unusual ports are blocked.  Even the less popular mainstream ports are blocked some times.  Only the major mainstream public ports are normally available.  You have to test out your applications to know for sure if they work.  If you have a laptop then stop by a VZW store and use one of their devices to test if it works before you buy.
    Also, anything depending on Public IP Addresses is broken on the new LTE network.  Some common examples are VOIP phones, Xbox hosting, IP security cameras, etc.  If you need remote access to your local network then forget about it.
    The work around to blocked ports and Public IPs are as follows:
    1. Setup a VPN to connect to a network where the ports are open
    2. Purchase a static IP Address from VZW for $500.00
    3. Use a different ISP
    VZW does not make exceptions for port blocking.  You have to work around them or get by without them.

    The censorship in regards to certain apps not being available in your country is by your country, not by Apple.
    Due to various laws and licensing in each country, in order to have an iTunes store account in a particular country you must have a credit card with a billing address in that country. If this were up to Apple, there would be no such requirement and there would be only one iTunes store for the entire world, but various laws, regulations, and licensing issues in each country, this is required by Apple.

    In PRD we changed the pricing procedure xccc66and we insert the condition type VPRS as mandatory condition. The billing documents created with reference to orders without VPRS (created before the change) are blocked for accounting because the condition VPRS is missing. We tried to run any pricing re-determination in the billing document but the system does not determine the VPRS.
    In the new orders, created after import all, the system determines the VPRS condition correctly.
    Can you please advice how to insert VPRS? I mean the correct procedure in order to re-determine the VPRS condition in billing documents.

    If you have changed the pricing procedure itself instead of inserting the VPRS condition type in your existing pricing procedure, no it is not at all possible to insert this condition type to your billing documents.  You have to cancel all those billing documents.
    On the other hand, if you have inserted this condition type in your existing pricing procedure, then I think, you can, by clicking the update button, can insert this condition type which I am not sure.

    It sounds like you are not able to correctly see the message you are typing because the keyboard is in the way. I can understand how that would be pretty frustrating. I would start by quitting the running apps on your device:
    iOS: Force an app to close
    Double-click the Home button.
    Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
    Swipe the app up to close it.
    When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:
    iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

  • Does anyone know what triggers the switch between text and iMessage in the middle of a conversation? Are there any differences in billing between text and iMessage?

    In the middle of a text conversation between another iOS 5.0 iPhone user and myself, the conversation elements switched back and forth several times between Text and iMessage. The phone actually tracked it and put little lines indicating the switch, and my comments changed from green to blue and back again. I can't think of anything I changed in the middle of the conversation. I was outside WiFi range, using the Cell network at the time. Now I tried it again, while i'm on WiFI and the messages are Text (green) again.

  • 1px is missing from text, but not in the stage area

    So my issue is this. I have some text, static, arial. The letter "F" has the top bar missing so it almost looks like a t. But this only looks like this when I render. In the staging area while viewing actual pixels the F looks perfectly fine. Is there a way to fix this without making the text thicker? Whats worse is that when i do custom anti alias settings and thicken the font by 200(which is the max) it actually is thicker than some of the other texts but the to of the F is still missing....its practically bolder than the actual bold setting and its messed up....
    I tried to make sure that its positioning is not on a decimal point with no success(that includes any other layers that the text is in).
    Any suggestions on how to fix this?

  • How PIR's are consumed by the customer requirements even though the sales orders are blocked?

    Dear experts,
    I am using strategy 40 for material A with Backward/Forward consumption of 60 days backward and 60 days forward.
    My PIR is as follows :-
    Material Month #1 Month #2 Month #3 Month #4 Month #5 ....
    material A 100 100 100 100 100 ....
    I created a Sales Order for material A with the quantity of 600 in Day 4 of Month #1.
    After MRP run, planned order conversion and production order has been completed.
    Month #1, Month #2 and Month #3 PIR's are consumed even though we made the setting in Such a way that the sales orders should just display but not planned  . and the sales orders are into the blocked requirements list in the result of /n/afs/MD02.
    1)but why it is consuming the PIRS?
    2)is there any affect of backward and forward consumption on this?

    Hi,
    Normally it is recommended that, not to delete PIR's one by one or remove quantity from previous periods/ requirement manually. If the PIR's of previous month is not consumed it is normally a feedback to sales people to do a analysis at their end.
    In PP point of view, normally a re-organization run is carried out by MD74, MD75 or MD76. The same can be done by  scheduling batch job to run on month ends basis w.r.t. period you specify.
