Are BT having a laugh??

Just ordered a new phone line at my new house... 26 days to install it apparently. Is this normal?
I run a business from home, I made the call in good time as I know it usually takes 2 weeks to get a new line put in, but seriously, 26 days is ludicrous seeing as it costs £130 too! Can someone advice of the complaints procedure or should I just contact the Ombudsman? A month for an engineer to come out and connect up a couple of wires... Absolutely shocking.

Probably a resource issue to be honest. It's nothing to do with BT retail but Openreach so regardless of which service provider you choose, you'd be faced with the same time scales.

    So my BT Vision+ box began updating the software on Wednesday at abot 6:10pm.  It was still updating at about 10pm on Thursday night so i switched the whole shebang (telly, box, hub) off.
     Switched it all on last night (friday) when i got back from work and boom!!!!! all workiing brilliantly!!
    Got up this morning, swirched everything on to settle down and watch Saturday Kitchen.......  BOOOOOOMMMMM  Vision+ box is uodating software AGAIN!!!!!
    i am now at the point where i want to throw the vision+ box out of the window and phone Sky and beg them to take me back as a customer
    on thursday night i was on the phone to 'Customer Care' (ha ha ha ha ha) for 45 minutes WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO ANSWER THE PHONE!!!!

    After years of poor service from Sky ,I had had enough and cancelled there service which was costing me over £100 a month.
     So I thought it could not be any worse at BT vision ,How wrong could I be .
    No bt sport HD, which have paid for I have spand Hours on the phone trying to resolve it ,my last try was 1hour 50minutes being put through to 4 differant people then got the engineer how could not fix it so just cut me off,then called back to be put through
    to a number that just rang for 35 minutes and I gave up ,called again then got put back to the engineer and he put the phone down on me again.
    I then emailed them that was 5 days ago and still no answer ,have sent 2 more emails no anwer.
    Tried the online chat service said cant help.
     If anyone knows of how to get some response ,please tell me.

    Ovi.com is a JOKE. It does not sync. If Nokia can't get their own phones to work with their OWN portal, it's not surprising that their 'open sourcing' Symbian.
    Their customer support link doesn't even work.
    I've recenly migrated from Palm and today I will be returning to them.
    Nokia, all show and no substance.

    Ovi Sync is pretty a useless product; most of info you have on your phone got lost after syncronized on Ovi (I mean: address, 2nd and 3rd mobile numbers, etc.).
    Nokia is gettin' down and down ....
    Guess I'll have to take "a good look around" next time I buy a new mobile phone .....

    Hi melbernai - not sure if you've solved this problem yet. I had the exact same problem recently with my 2nd Gen iPod Nano. I solved it yesterday by simply updating iTunes to the most recent version, after which I could get rid of the register screen. The only other thing I needed to do to add my custom playlists was select "Manually manage music" on the screen for my iPod, since it had been in an automatic synching mode since the problem occurred.

    You may have debris in your headphone jack blocking the sensor.  Try blowing hard on the jack, and inserting/removing your headphones quickly multiple times to clear it.

    I'm using a browser on a PC to access icloud mail. Has been working fine for a week or more. Suddenly the mail app doesn't launch. The other apps continue to work. I am using the correct version of the browsers and have tried several. I can get mail to launch once in a while using Firefox 16. But it also fails in that browser too. The error I'm getting is "Can't Load Mail, There was a problem loading the application." <Report> <OK>. It always fails in Chrome.
    It may or may not be relevant, but a tracet to icloud.com doesn't get past APPLE-COMPU.car2.Charlotte1.Level13.net

    The issue of not loud enough has been a constant complaint since day 1. Vibrate is fine if you have the phone. But for like my wife who keeps it in her purse (as most women that I know do) then vibrate doesn't help. And when at home every phone before my iPhone I could hear in any room. The iPhone, sorry to say I cannot. Though I am not really complaining, just stating that the iPhone is not as loud as many think it should be.
    Now once my 1 year is up (in June) I am going the route of what many sites have discussed of using a pin to puncture the thin plastic in the speaker covering that with sound equipment has shown a good 40% increase in sound levels.

  • Is there another bug fix coming soon. IpadAir, iPod and iPhone are still having many, many issues even with the last update. IOS8 has been a disaste!

    After installing, boot holding down CMD+s, then when the prompt shows, type in...
    applejack AUTO
    Then let it do all 5 of it's things.
    Fixes a lot of problems, and besides, if your Mac ever gets to the point it won't Boot... this is a life saver!
    After you run that... let's see where we are.
    BTW, several ISPs seem to have trouble with their DNS Servers lately, might try these insead...

    Pls treat it urgent. If it's urgent , open a priority 1 service request on My Oracle Support/metalink.
    If it's not so urgent, set the datafiles to OFFLINE, so you can open the database.
    Without backup you only can recover if you have ALL archivelogs since creation of the files. Normally that's rarely the case.

    I want to take list of customer numbers which are not having any sales activities(No sales transactions) from required date. Do we have any standard functionalty to find all these kind of customers.
    I can get all customer numbers (Sold to party) from KNA1 table, then if we do somuch manual work, then we will be able to find those customers. In that manual work we may do some mistakes, that will not give 100% perfect result. So, we are searching for any standard functionality.
    Please let us your views.

    This depends on how "sales" are defined in your organization.
    If we are talking about the sales documents (orders, contracts and such - VBAK table), then there is no standard report. The Sold-to customers that do not have any sales documents may be identified by creating a query (SQVI, for example) on table KNA1 with LEFT JOIN on VBAK table by KNA1-KUNNR and VBAK-KUNNR field. (VAKPA table may be used instead of VBAK for better performance, as long as it's being populated in your system.) The KNA1 records that will come out without any VBAK records will be the customers with no sale documents.
    If the invoiced (i.e. billed) sales have to be considered, then most likely S_ALR_87012186 suggested above or the same query but with VBRK will work.
    Please note that S_ALR_87012186 report uses KNC1 table, which is not updated when a sales document has just been created. I've just tested this report with a new customer with one contract and it came out as having "no sales" and there were no entries in KNC1. I bet this table is updated only when something is posted into Accounting. If this fits your requirements, then, naturaly, this report would be the way to go.

    Sure u CAN have constructors for applets. Event though you havnt wrote it, its always there... There cant be a class without a constructor......
    The point is that its a standard that the applets init will be caled by the browser the first time.....but still you can have a constructor.

    "Weird" needs further explanation.
    Google's highly nonstandard IMAP implementation is weird, if you're using Gmail, though Apple bent over backwards to accomodate it. Other than that, what do you mean by "weird"?

    Basically I have an iphone 4 and upgraded to v7 and most recently v7.0.2. When I am on calls the phone started to beep and vibrate and sometimes change the call to speaker. It seems to be that the screen is sometimes active whilst on calls and so my ear is actually pressing the buttons and hitting numbers or changing it to speaker phone. It has also cancelled a call a few times.
    This is extremely annoying and makes every call a worry.
    Any ideas of how to solve this problem?

    I have taken it back to the Apple store genius bar, but they say they don't see anything wrong. Well unless you use it all day and experience the problems when they happen, you wont see anything wrong. But there are lots wrong with it. But this would be the same store as I purchased the phone. And they backed up my old Iphone 4, but were not able to get anything to load back onto my new phone. So, I lost pretty much everything. But over time, some of my contacts have started showing up, although i am still missing over 800 of them.
