Are Debit Cards Allowed?
I tried reading terms of service for US itune store but they were very explicit on whether debit cards are allowed or not. itunes seemed to accept my debit card info when i filled out the billing segment of the account but I have yet to purchase anything. Does anybody know if itunes accepts debit cards?
Yes, debit cards are allowed (as you have already noted).

The card is verified when you complete the account. It does not wait until you purchase something.

The Mac App Store, App Store and iBookstore services (the "Stores") accept credit cards issued by banks in India or Content Codes as forms of payment. iTunes may obtain preapproval for an amount up to the amount of the order. Billing occurs at the time of or shortly after your transaction. If you are using 1-Click purchasing, your order may be authorized and billed in increments during one purchasing session, so it may appear as multiple orders on your statement. When making purchases, content credits are used first; your credit card is then charged for any remaining balance.

HT1918 Is debit card allowed for payment in indian itune store?
i can not purchase any app in itunes. every time it says "your payment method was declined". please clarify that if debit card is allowed or not for payment in indian itunes stores.
i am using axis bank titanium debit card "mastercard" for payment.As far as I know debit cards are no longer accepted as a valid payment method - they are not listed on this page and there have been a number of posts recently about them being declined. Do you have a credit card that you could use instead ? They are generally considered safer when used on sites that store the card's details.

Has Apple Inc consider having three credit/debit cards allowed for checkout?
I tried to how the process and feel of placing items in the shopping cart and check out. I am glad that Apple allow customers to pay with two credit cards... but I think I will be excellent to add third payment options: a) PayPal account B) Domestic Bank Account or C) Third Credit/debit card. This may seem to much work and possible theft... but I think I would be great to consider in the near future. For example a customer may divide payment between a checking account using the debit card and credit card... as of today individuals and families also use prepaid debit card that are loaded with cash "GreenDot" for ex. This allows for flexible shopping and another option (third option besides two credit/debit cards)... But I feel three payment options for merchandise over 1000.00 (if allowed) is good payments for students or consumers who on some kind of budget.
Please consider this "third" payment options. To reiterate third payment options could be
A) PayPal account link (consumers must log in and check out with PayPal online)
B) Bank/Checking Account

Credit card & app store country. also debit card...
Does from which country's app store one can purchase from depend on where the credit card belongs to? If I want to be able to download from other (or all) stores what type of credit card will I need? Currently I'm allowed to make purchase only from the Indian store.

NeeravI have a similar problem. I am English but have live in Italy and the only credit card I have is a british one. I only have access to the English app store so am unable to download any app which is only on the british version even if they are free. It says that my credit card is not valid in Italy, obviously that is not true as my card works all over the world! I hope that apple does something about this as it is mad to think I must apply for an Italian credit card just to download free apps!!

My bank sent me a new Debit card because of some security issue. It has the same number as my previous card but new experation and new security code. It worked fine for months then all of a sudden Itunes decided the security code is invalid. Now I can't even update my phone.
For the last week I have been going back and forth over email with apple support to fix it, but they keep telling me the same fix that doesn't work and frankly they are the worst support group I have ever worked with. I can't even get anyone to answer a phone, its just back and forth by email everyday.Debit card? Are you sure?

If not, and as you say that you don't have a credit or debit card (though not all debit cards appear to be accepted anyway) then you will need to create a new account, and use the instructions on the about 'create an iTunes ...' page when creating it. -

I had the same error when trying to update my apps on my ipod touch. I tried to input my security code numerous times to no avail. I also made sure my billing address was the same as what my bank had on file. To fix the issue I went into iTunes, logged onto the iTunes store, went to account settings and reviewed my recent purchases. Turned out that I had made a recent purchase and didn't have enough money left on my credit card to pay for it at the time. I paid off the credit card, and then input my security code once more and now it works fine. I've heard that some debit or pay as you go credit cards require a minimum balance, so make sure you have at least that amount in your account.

You can't tell which device a purhcase was made on, but if your family members each have their own iTunes account to which your card is linked then you can check the purchase history on each of those accounts via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes - that should have 'purchase history' section with a 'see all' link to the right of it

I have just created an Apple Id for itunes, it is allowing me to get to the debit card stage but they no longer accept Visa Debit, there is no other option for me as i dont have any other cards and there isnt a 'none' option! HELP!!
How did you create the account ? Unless you followed the instructions on the page that you post from exactly then you won't get the 'none' option and you will need to enter payment details - those instructions won't work on existing accounts.
I tried those instructions a week ago in response to another thread and I got the 'none' option on it e.g. on my computer's iTunes I logged out of my existing account, found a free app in the store, clicked on its 'free' price, clicked on 'create Apple id' on the popup, and after agreeing to the terms and filling in my details I was able to select 'none' as my payment option and download a free app with it. -
If you don't have a credit card then you might be able to use iTunes gift cards instead - that's what I currently use for purchases. You might be getting the 'billing problem' message due to it being a debit card, which as I said I don't think are still accepted - you might want to contact iTunes Support via the link that I gave to confirm one way or the other if that is the case.
and now, when i tried to check again my network preference below the airport tab is showing a message that
"my airport does not have an IP address and cannot connect to the internet!"
then after seconds it will goes back to the first message that
"airport has the self assigned IP address etc....."
i don't know whats going on now!
